One of the first things I learned in calculus was a vastly easier way to do something that was challenging in advanced algebra. I was mad at first for having to slog through it in algebra when it was easier in calculus, but then I realized if I hadn’t slogged through it in algebra I would not have been in a position to understand it in calculus.
