How To Transport A Montessori Tray?

The Montessori Carrying a Tray Activity is a crucial skill for children in elementary education. It involves teaching children to carry a tray with two hands, using one hand on either side of the tray, walking slowly, and keeping the tray balanced and level. This activity helps children develop coordination skills, balance, and concentration.

To carry a tray, children should wrap their four left fingers under the lip of the tray, lift it straight up with both hands until the tray is at the level of their lower stomach, and walk carefully. Holding the tray slightly away from their body and with their arms toward their sides, carry it slowly and carefully to the table and set it down.

The activity is designed to help children develop their balance, coordination, and attention to detail. They should lift the tray with thumbs on top of the lip, fingers on the bottom, and elbows close to but not touching their body. Hold the tray about waist high and walk slowly to see the placement of the tray or box on the shelf.

Montessori trays organize activities and foster independence and order. They are easy for children to carry and include all the materials. The child must be able to carry a tray level and carry a tray with objects.
