  • What’s your take on school’s impact on your film/photo abilities Like do you feel you learned a lot of valuable skills. I wonder cause I was thinking about how meticulously you take photos. And how you took this one near a plain background . And I was wondering if you study techniques and ideal photos for different purposes as a film/ photography major.

  • While I do have a shipping strategy down for my sewing business, I want to do this for my personal items. I often gather those items and take them to a local thrift shop but you give me hope to empty out my closets because they contain gently used items that I no longer use! Being a one person shop is hard but you are rocking it!

  • LOOOOOVED it when you said we should really stop making self-critical jokes about our bodies- and that it’s a base form of humour! I see so many people doing the same on Youtube to be “relatable” and it’s not setting the best example for a younger audience. Thank you so much for calling yourself out!

  • I know this article is months old at this point so no one will see this most likely but I’m trying to make a business selling clothing and I understand everything BUT shipping! I don’t get how the labels work, i don’t know if I can just pay for shipping myself, and even if I can, should I? i haven’t had any experience sending things out. As a middle schooler who loves fashion, I really wanna do this but I don’t know what I’m doing when it comes to finances, refunds, tracking, and shipping. I mean should I do international shipping? Do I need UPS or USPS or something? This might be the most confusing thing about selling and out of all of the notes I’ve taken about business nothing has helped me understand this shipping situation! If anyone has any idea as to how shipping works I would love to know! This article was really helpful with my other issues though, Thank you, Ashley!

  • My shipping hack: I scam USPS when I ship 🙈I always create the cheapest label and place it on the box/package. It only works if my mailman takes it from my home and leaves it at the delivery address regardless if the person is home or not. So for apps like depop I use the cheapest shipping option for all items.

  • Hi Ashley. I know you probably won’t see this, but I have a question about reselling vintage clothing. I want to invest in an online shop, but I’m scared that after I spend all the money, people won’t come to buy, because they don’t recognize me or I’m just not popular enough to gain any buyers. I was wondering what your tips on becoming recognizable, and trusted in this community?

  • Can you tell me if it’s cheaper to try and sell items on Facebook yard sales, I think that’s what it’s called because we are having to move since we could not afford to keep our home and I’m trying to sell clothes, shoes, and handbags? Someone mentioned that and I wanted to get some opinions. Thanks for any suggestions to get my stuff sold to have money for food and other necessities.

  • I honestly don’t like it when people strike poses while selling items. I get you want the photo to look nice but it makes it really hard to see the full design of the clothing and make out the little details. It makes shopping online really difficult because you don’t know if the clothing piece looks nice because of the way they are posing or because of the item itself. Personally, I think it’s best to just post a picture from the front, side and back just standing, once close up, and maybe one fun photo. articles are also really nice because they can give you better insight into how the fabric moves which can tell you how light or heavy the material is. This is why I love shopping on Korean websites because they post a million pictures but at the end they also post at least and front and back shot of the item while the model is just standing straight. Makes shopping really easy.

  • Hi Ashley! I hope requesting something in the comments isn’t kinda rude or anything but I would really love to see your turn on Euphoria (the Series you may know it) Inspired Outfits. sweating nervously because requesting something on the internet from a strange person whos articles you watch is kinda weird

  • Yes sweetheart, as one who used to have” put herself down ” (A.K.A Self Depricating) humor ..please stop. I had to do some deep dive into my inner pysche and mostly it stems from feeling some form of self loathing and not accepting your complete self. Everyone has strengths and areas of improvement. Also, I found it hard to accept compliments and would almost always justify it. I dont have an hourglass figure either and always thought i did . But i am well endowed and have beautiful blue eyes with a golden heart.

  • Oh my…. Ashley, if you read this, u have to know, that u have influance ( I Hope i wrote it right) on people (at least one me XD) Ist’s half past 10 p.m. here in Poland, and my mom finished about 20 min. ago CUTTING MY BANGS I have BANGS… We watched ur article first and then tried it… Well, I have a round face and last month i went to a Hair dresser and asked if I would look good in bangs. She said no. I asked the same all my friends. All said No. BUT I LOOK GREAT I LOVE MY BANGS ❤️💘❤️ Thank you so much for (idk what I should thank you for …) making this super informatical article about how to cut bangs at night 💛🌛

  • I just discovered your website and this article on a drive to Scout some rescue textiles for my sustainable clothing business. I will look at other articles on your website when I have a chance so you may have already done this, but I’m wondering if there is an update to this since it’s been four years. I am keen to find an online market for the jackets and bags I make which typically are for size large and up. I specifically make things larger because I think people who are not small don’t have as many options for fashion. I also make one-of-a-kind items so that makes the buyer feel even more special knowing no one else will have what they’re wearing. Any advice would be great!

  • I came here after seeing one of your IG stories. I rarely ever leave YouTube comments but I’m doing it now to show my support. Your style isn’t even anything close to mine but I still love perusal your style articles (along with all your non clothing-related articles) just because I love your personality, sense of humor, and the things you talk about. So just wanted to add one more positive comment to help outweigh any asshole commenters out there. 💕💕

  • Every bodyshape is beautiful. There shouldn’t be any status or hierarchy in what bodyshape you have, all are different and all are beautiful, yours included of course. If someone has an opinion about your bodyshape, that’s their issue not yours. Being insecure about ones body or image is natural and okay ofc but I feel we should encurage eachother more often to actually own our uniqueness! 🙂

  • I am perusal this website for about 3 months, but I need to say: It od do f*ck*ng hard to find someone in the Internet who has a round face too, and voilà: Ashley has a round face (at least I think so…), maybe she od a bit taller than me, but the lifestyle 😘 love it ❤ (it’s definietly not the same as mine, nooo XD) Love all the round facers out there💥❤

  • The info you went over is every informational things Like myself that has never done it before I think your a great speaker And the self body jokes are how your feeling but you are a beautiful woman young lady which goes with your personally thank you for doing articles helpful to a new person starting out

  • I don’t wanna sell my clothes, and I don’t eben live in the US. So it doesn’t make any sense for me to watch this article. Still I enjoyed it. And I skipped the part about the trademarks. I also sorted out a lot of my clothes a couple of days ago. But I just put them in the donation Container to save some time. Do you have something like that in america, too?

  • Too bad this was 2 years ago. I wanted to ask how she went about selling her clothes through her own store on a public platform….. main question was how does the customer know there’s only one? So that more than 1 person doesn’t click on the same item to buy. I would definitely do this with my kids’ clothes

  • hey ashley! just a genuine question about something that bugs me about buying secondhand online and buying things online in general. i think it’s thrifting online is more sustainable than buying new but are there more environmental friendly ways of shipping? i feel like we don’t talk about shipping enough when it comes to sustainable fashion and one of my concerns is the plastic waste from shipping packages. wondering maybe if you have any insights on it. love your articles <3

  • Hey Ashely! Love your articles by the way. I was wondering if you could do a article about styling different types of jeans (straight leg, flare, boot cut, etc) for fall & winter? Only recently have I ventured to step out of my comfort zone of skinny jeans but am not quite sure how to style my new denim as fall and winter approach. Thanks!

  • Honestly Ashley, I just want to congratulate you on all the hard work you are doing . It really blows my mind. I don’t have words.. It must be so tedious. Unlike other youtubers the fact that you don’t have any help is terrifying and so damn inspiring at the same time. Keep going. And yes, the shipping label information is helpful.

  • okay i’m so glad you made this article the whole time i was perusal your original closet cleanout vid i was so curious as to how exactly you were selling your stuff like what you used to make your website, how you shipped everything out, etc i’m not even trying to sell anything myself i was just so genuinely curious 😂😭 this definitely helped dial my curiosity back amazing article as always

  • I’m trying to get motivated to post on Poshmark. My first and only post back in November I made over $1500 off a vintage coat from 1950s. It took about 10-14 days to have the item authenticated by Poshmark. The buyer was pleased with the coat. I prefer selling on Poshmark to giving stuff to a consignment store. I just need be proactive. Could be my vacation fund. Thanks for the article.

  • Very good article! We are new to the postmark and have a lot of questions about shipping and how to add my bank account for future transfers the money. We posted a lot of new shoes just now, people like them, but there are no offers. I understand we need to be patient. Are you offering any discounts after awhile keeping an item on the market? I will be searching for your other articles. Thank you for this helpful and encouraging article.

  • I need to start to sell my stuff. I already know everything you said. A good article on hoe to sell on poshmark is to use an example item and walk me through the steps on how to set up an account on poshmark and step by step. It could even be a article with no talking so I could just see what to do. I didn’t learn anything I need to know.

  • How much money can you really make with poshmark? I had this idea of what if I buy a t shirt on thrift apps for 10$, but with shipping and tax it’s like 20$ I’d have to sell the shirt for at least 30$ to make a few dollars profit because the app takes a percentage of each sale. So maybe it’s a good way to make money on clothes you buy in real life, for example if you buy a 2$ t shirt from a goodwill, and sold it online for 10, after tax you’d make like 5$ per shirt. Which isn’t a lot so you’d have to really have a huge collection making multiple sales a day to actually make good money on poshmark.

  • What are your thoughts on people somewhat aggressively asking for holds? I currently have a lady who has asked me to hold an item for her three times in the last 12 hours. I don’t currently have any offers or other likes on it, but if someone does come along and buy it at full price, I’m gonna take the sale. I don’t want to hold it for her just because she can’t buy it right now, especially because her continuous asking seems kind of aggressive and demanding. Is my thinking right?

  • these are great tips! i’m new to selling on poshmark but i did work for a secondhand/consignment store in college, and one other thing i would add is that when you are considering how to price the item, take into account how old it is, especially for trendier items. a lot of clothing items start to look dated after about 3 years as trends change, so unless the pieces are classic/timeless styles (or unless they’re vintage, which are items that are more like 20+ years old), they’re not worth as much after that time period, and you may want to consider just donating them instead.

  • I really appreciate your article. I am ready to empty my closet and I purchase better clothing and really just want to give it to good will. That said, you shared that your first sale took 3 weeks. I am about to go on a long vacation from mid June unitl mid September, should I wait until I return? Or is there a way to pause everything when I begin my vacation.

  • Help..I was told I had to have a minimum of $200 in my account and then to upgrade I had to put in another $400 after that they wanted me to deposit $1000 for a poshmark sales card this is all to sell a wallet that was $400 The buyer send the funds and now they won’t release any of the money I deposited into my poshmark account. I can’t afford to loose that $600 or it being held back from me. I am on the verge of tears 😢 they are not answering me back I’m afraid I got scammed

  • Well unfortunately your article did not help me at all. I’m looking to find out how do I find out I even have an offer, where do I even go to look for this packaging slip that I’m supposed to print out where is all the stuff at that’s the kind of information I want the information you gave me was basically the self-explanatory when you get on the site thank you very much for the article though but it didn’t give me any information

  • I have a question. This is my first time to post and sell products on poshmark. I have one buyer asking me to send photos on her email and so I did. Then she said she already place order on poshmark and she send me also this link from poshmark. So I went to my account and check if it is there but I couldn’t see anything. The one she send me the link include her payment and it says GET IT. So i don’t know If I will get it or what coz how can I send the itel if I don’t know here mail address. Please tell me what to do might help me. Thanks

  • Hi, I love how you explained clearly in this article than the other articles I’ve been looking at on YouTube. So I appreciate this article! Thank You! Well I do have a couple of questions. Can I use first mail USPS boxes? And if I don’t have a printer how can I get the labels print out? Doesn’t USPS have labels that you can order? Again, very helpful article. 🤍🤍
