Why Do Meat Eaters Take Aim At Vegetarians?

📹 The End of Meat | How Meat Affects Our Health & The Environment | Vegan | FULL DOCUMENTARY

The End of Meat is a groundbreaking documentary film envisioning a future where meat consumption belongs to the past.

Can a vegetarian be with a meat eater?

Two married couples, one adhering to a vegan diet and the other consuming meat, necessitate tolerance and accommodation for their disparate lifestyles.

What does eating meat do to a vegetarian?

The consumption of meat, due to its high fat content, has been linked to various gastrointestinal issues, including constipation, bloating, and heartburn. This is attributed to the fact that meat takes longer to digest than plant-based foods.

Why do vegetarians refuse meat?

Vegetarians are driven by health, religious beliefs, animal welfare, and environmental concerns. The popularity of vegetarianism has increased due to the availability of fresh produce, vegetarian dining options, and the influence of plant-based diets. Historically, vegetarianism was primarily focused on potential nutritional deficiencies, but recent studies have confirmed the health benefits of meat-free eating.

The American Dietetic Association states that vegetarian diets are healthful and nutritionally adequate, but maintaining a healthy vegetarian lifestyle requires following guidelines on nutrition, fat consumption, and weight control.

A variety of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is essential, and saturated and trans fats should be replaced with good fats like nuts, olive oil, and canola oil. Overeating calories can lead to weight gain, so portion control, reading food labels, and regular physical activity are crucial.

Can vegetarians kiss meat eaters?

The speaker and the majority of vegetarians would not object to sharing a kiss with someone who eats meat. However, the potential for harm is a more significant concern, particularly if they reside together and prepare meals together.

Do vegetarians live longer?

Loma Linda University researchers have discovered that vegetarian men live 10 years longer than non-vegetarian men, with an average life expectancy of 83 years, and for women, it adds an extra 6 years, bringing their life expectancy to 85 years. This research is part of the Adventist Health Study-1, a 14-year study that tracked diets, lifestyle, and diseases among 34, 000 Seventh-day Adventists.

Are meat eaters happier than vegetarians?

A recent study indicates a correlation between meat-free diets and poorer mental health, with meat eaters reporting lower rates of depression and anxiety compared to vegans and vegetarians. However, this doesn’t imply that abstaining from meat causes depression or anxiety. The study also provides a personalized feed of favorite topics, and users can opt-out at any time by visiting the Preferences page or unsubscribing.

Is vegan healthier than vegetarian?

Vegetarianism and vegan diets both offer health benefits, but vegetarianism offers more protein-dense options and calcium and vitamin D sources. Vegans exclude animal protein and products, such as meat, seafood, dairy, milk, eggs, cheese, and honey. They prefer uncooked and unprocessed foods and rely on plant sources like beans, nuts, seeds, and soy products for their protein. Both diets can provide a lot of nutrition in a day, but vegetarianism offers more protein-dense options and calcium and vitamin D sources.

Do vegetarians age faster than meat-eaters?

Research indicates that vegans who consume a high amount of fruits and vegetables have lower inflammatory markers compared to meat-eaters, which is beneficial for aging. Veganism offers numerous benefits, including the prevention and control of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers, increased energy, reduced inflammation, and overall better health. However, the question remains whether vegans age better compared to meat-eaters.

Can a vegan marry a meat eater?

Emily, who has been in a relationship with her meat-eating boyfriend for four years, shares her experience of transitioning to a more plant-based diet. She believes that dating someone who does eat meat can be easier if they are both accepting, understanding, and adaptable. Respectful communication is key, as both parties should be supportive of each other’s choices, even if it’s not for them. Adaptability is also crucial, as cooking dinners that can be adapted for both dietary choices is beneficial.

For example, a chickpea curry can be made with all key ingredients being plant-based, but can be topped with either tofu or chicken. Albert, who has lived with his “99 vegan” wife for a year, agrees that it should be easy to live with someone who doesn’t share their diet, as long as they have different interests and beliefs.

  • Simple and very efficient: repeat the question over and over again until the guest activist finally gives an answer! Grab them by the balls… or the other thing here. perusal from Germany, wishing we had more TV people the calibre of Piers. Thank you in the name of the vast majority, the meat eaters!!!

  • It’s ironic that those that are the most loudest, are the least experienced when it comes to animals. We care for our animals. We do our best to take care of them, and we do make mistakes sometimes, but we learn from them and we move on. If these so-called protesters care so much for animal welfare, why don’t they just start up a farm out in the country somewhere, and take on responsibility caring for the farm animals, like the cows, the chickens, the goats and the horses and such?

  • Actually he’s absolutely right. bees are way more important than cows. bees are the principal pollinators of the flowers and other vegetation. without bees we would definitely have an ecological catastrophe leading to starvation and possible wars for food. She literally has no idea what she is talking about

  • I remember a time when we had respect for other people’s choices… we did not force them on others… I do not want to be forced to look at the gay agenda… I do not want to be forced to look at the vegan agenda… I do not want to be forced to look at any agenda… any agenda… I can make up my own mind… I do respectfully… I suggest you do the same…

  • She’s memorised what she’s been coached to say. Exactly like a telesales person. As soon as you interrupt their spiel, they restart at the same point the BS was interrupted and carry on, or try to. There is never any free thinking type of conversation with these people just the speech they’ve memorised.

  • As a teenager I accidentally spilled a gallon of paint on the road whilst getting it out of the back of a van. I got fined, accident or not. Still waiting to hear when these vandals will be getting prosecuted for deliberate criminal damage…although, of course, it WILL be the Met in charge so there’s not much chance of that happening…

  • The biggest issue with this is that it’s a complete waste of time. We’re never going to transition to a plant based food system. We’re not a dictatorship where the government will take away the rights of millions of people who like to eat meat. We will always be a society where people can choose what they eat, what religion they are, which political party they follow etc. These idiots need to stop trying to dictate to others what the rest of us can/can’t eat

  • Pierce. I agree with you,but on this one occasion, you should have let her respond. It didn’t make you look good. On the other hand, when you ate the steak in front of that other child, that was vintage Pierse. You totally destroyed him.I know that childs wisdom(or lack of)because I had the same attitude when I was younger. But now,I’m all grown up.I can think clearly.Hopefully, this kid will.

  • For the record: Their idea that animal agriculture is a leading cause of climate change is based on a faulty study from like 2007 where they compared Animal Ag to Transport, they took the lifecycle emissions of Animal ag but only measured the tailpipe of transport, and even one of the authors came out and admitted the flaw in their study. No, cows existing in the ecosystem where there is a carbon cycle is not causing climate change. About 4% of emissions are from animal ag. Humans digging hydrocarbons out of the ground and burning it is causing climate change. Methane in the atmosphere has a half-life of 9 years before it is destroyed, and about as much methane is destroyed each year as cows produce. Also, we feed these animals ugly fruits we don’t want to eat or parts of plants to ruminants that are inedible like stems and leaves. Only 10% of the food these animals consume are edible to humans. They turn those in to quality nutrients we can use, it’s about efficiency. If we gut out animal ag we will just have a lot of plant waste. Plant waste already makes up the bulk of food waste. We don’t give cows the soybeans or rice themselves, we eat those. So this idea that we would use less land is fallacious. Veganism is about theology and ethics, they only latched onto health and climate because they know no one will buy their ethics arguments.

  • There is NO climate emergency. If there was, we wouldn’t have a chance in hell of being able to do anything about it. Renewable energy, plant based farming is NOT a less destructive and simple alternative. Our technology is nowhere near efficient enough to compact the amount of space and items in order to replace our current means of energy extraction. Nuclear fusion would be a MASSIVE game changer, but we aren’t beyond the phase of viability at this point. Nuclear fission energy can be done and done safely. Mistakes happen, but there’s so much garbage information out there that no one cares to actually find out the actual benefits of it.

  • Time was when virtue involved actually doing something virtuous. You know: noble self-sacrifice and struggle for the benefit of others. How quaint and old-fashioned that notion is now. These days, “virtue” involves enjoying being a petulant, infantile, narcissistic PitA and making innocent people suffer while claiming, however implausibly, that you’re doing it to improve the world. She admits that her lot have failed to get their way in a democratic, fair, civilised, decent fashion. That, apparently, is all the justification they need to “escalate” to attempting to force their views on others unlawfully. She feels very strongly about this issue, you see. Yet she must be aware that, on all sides of all issues, there are people who feel just as strongly as her and are absolutely convinced they’re right. Does she think things would be better if they all behaved like this until they got their way? No: she only thinks it’s appropriate for those who agree with her. She and her opinions are fundamentally and indisputably superior, after all. If only the police would respond robustly. These people would soon give up if that started to happen consistently: as already mentioned, these pretentious snobs want to show their “virtue” in the easiest way possible. Make it less easy and more risky and they’ll soon do something else instead. Many don’t even care about the specific issues they’re “protesting” about; just as many in “Insulate Britain” hadn’t even insulated their own houses, so many if not most of these people will not be properly vegan (which I was for years, before I saw the light, and yet I never considered imposing my views on anyone else).

  • I agree with piers but this lady was very respectful during this interview and handled her composure well— not being able to answer, being interrupted, being brought on just to be talked to and not actually interviewed. And how could you not laugh when they bring up pictures of bees with that sad music 😂

  • The researchers found that compared to children on omnivore diets, children on vegan diets had a healthier cardiovascular risk profile, with 25% lower levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or unhealthy cholesterol). However the vegan children had an increased risk of nutritional deficiencies. They were more likely to have lower levels of vitamin B12, calcium, vitamin D and iron in their diet. Children on vegan diets had about 5% lower bone mineral content and were on average 3cm shorter in height. This is important, as the higher the bone mineral content, the higher the bone mineral density. This 5% difference is concerning, as people have a limited period of time at this age in which they can optimise their bone mineral density; 95% of bone mass is attained by about 20 years of age. Lower bone densities are linked to higher rates of fractures in later life. I am glad that all my 82 years I was a meat eater and i will continue to eat meat until i get really old

  • I am a vegan, and I hope you enjoyed that Big Mac. What you eat is up to you, I have no right to dictate to you what you can eat. Likewise, my diet is my personal choice. I hate those preachy extremist vegans who think they have the right to tell everyone what they can or can’t eat. It gives the rest of us a bad name, who have our own reasons for our diet (mine is circumstance, due to food intolerances).

  • “As you probably already know…” people who start off talking like this about controversial topics are likely gaslighting you and trying to convince you of something that is false or at the best debatable is 100% truth. Often times, these very same people make absurd truth claims like “there’s no such thing as truth”. 👎👎👎

  • This reminds me of the “environmentalists” in California that set a Hummer dealership on fire because those vehicles were such “mass polluters”. They put out, by a huge margin, more pollution in one day burning the dealership down than the entire lot would have put out in their life spans. Complete idiocracy. I don’t think these people deserve a voice. I think they need to be dropped off on a desert island to fend for themselves.

  • He’s such a bully. He should have a moderator for every debate he is in like some other people who can’t respect others long enough for them to answer the question. He’s scared a valid point will be said to him that he can agree with, so he just talks over them like a two year old. I really wish he could learn to keep his mouth shut long enough for her to answer HIS questions, but we all know that’s not why she was invited there. Animal eaters, you telling someone who doesn’t eat animals that you are going to eat more animals, really isn’t anything to bother us; and instead just a little false-pep to your ego. It’s what we expect of those who can’t have a respectful discussion. It’s what we have been surrounded with since we were born. It’s what we used to do ourselves until a connection was made. It’s not a power win and just seen as weak with nothing of value to say. She should have tried to ask him if HE eats avocados or almonds. Then she should have given him a math problem so he can highlight his own hypocrisy as to which diet causes the most damage to the environment and which one kills more animals. And I don’t even think she is vegan from the little bit that Piers allowed for her to share, and he is attacking her as a vegan and deflecting. She sounds like a plant-based person. Vegans do it for the animals, and they get to help the environment and their own health while they’re at it. Plant-based people do it for the environment with the added benefit of better health and less animal deaths, and there’s no way you can be an active environmentalist and not eat a plant-based diet.

  • This is what I hate about Piers Morgan. I agree with what he says but he doesn’t give people a chance to answer questions. He said himself that it was supposed to be an interview but when the girl was trying to answer his questions, he was shouting over her and not giving her a chance. He doesn’t seem to realise that he’s at the polar end so f the argument and is just as irritating as vegans that try to force a plant based diet on us.

  • The bottom line here is this: many things are damaging to the environment. Where do these environmentalists get the right to decide where to draw the line? Why are their standards the only acceptable ones? Why are avocado and almond farming ok, which use animal harvesting and which are also clearly destructive to the planet, but animal farming is not? Where do they get off drawing the line so conveniently where it suits them, where their dietary demands cause an “acceptable” amount of damage, while meat eaters cause an “unacceptable” amount? It is arbitrary and borne from malevolence and a leftist tendency towards hyperbole, authoritarianism, and cult forming.

  • Meat eater here. She was not brought onto the show for an “interview”, she was brought onto the show to be humiliated by someone who is set on their views and will not even consider listening to the other side. I’m not saying who’s right and who’s wrong. But let her speak, then base your opinions on it afterwards.

  • Huge respect . Lesson well taught . Free country and permitted under law, and no one is above the law of the country. No body can decide or control what the other person eats . Protest or any kind if awareness creation has to be done in a peaceful way, only then will people be sympathetic and atleast some people might even listen and change if they feel so . But forcing some one and taking law into the hands and causing public nuisance will never be tolerated. 😂😂😂

  • Gaawd damn, just answer the question woman! Why does she try and avoid simple questions? “Are you 4?” Woman: “I identify as a human” “Im asking if youre 4 years old.” Woman: “I identify as a human” “Just answer my question.” Woman: “I identify as a human” “Just Answer BY YES OR NO!!” Woman: “I identify as a human” “Woman, you are a bot” Woman: “I identify as a human” “Bot, bot BOT!!” Woman: “I identify as a human”

  • As an Irishwoman I’d like to apologize for this hallion coming to your country, defacing your historic property and trying to tell a nation not of her own how to live. Cannot stand these Southern hypocrites sometimes. We fought all those centuries trying to keep the crown from running our lives and here she is. I sure hope her community is rightly ashamed of her. Basically I’d like to fight her.

  • She’s actually polite. I wish she has a good cause in life to live for, for example Jesus Christ. Climate change has impacts on us, but vandalism is not a solution, and those protesters are making this matter into an annoyance rather than solving it. Hope she don’t gets hurt for being bullied by Morgan😂, and hopefully she founds a better purpose worth putting effort into
