Who Demonstrates A Decisive Manner Of Acting?

Decisiveness is a behavioral style that can either propel individuals to greatness or lead them astray. It involves blending low emotional responsiveness with a relatively high degree of assertiveness, making decisions using logical analysis and weighing pros and cons objectively. This type of behavior is characterized by a direct, no-nonsense approach to people and situations.

The Leonard Personality Inventory (LPI) measures five dimensions of personality: Openness, Neutrality, Analytical, Relational, and the DISC Profile. Each style has its own unique characteristics, and understanding the diverse behavioral styles of team members enables organizations to leverage varied perspectives for problem-solving and building a dynamic work environment.

Decisional people tend to take no nonsense and can be viewed as competitive. Expressive people are typically extroverts who enjoy dealing with customers. A businesswoman who assertively dominates board meetings demonstrates a decisive behavioral style.

Leadership styles vary and should match the situation. Decisive people exhibit a confident, possibly arrogant demeanor. The Driving Style is Controlling, Decisive, and Fast-paced. People with a Driving Social Style are seen by others as direct, active, forceful, and determined.

When serving a customer who prefers the decisive style, it is important for service providers to listen rather than defend and use a structured approach. Decisive people tend to project a competitive nature and display symbols of power to demonstrate their own power.

In summary, Decisiveness is a crucial aspect of leadership, requiring a closer examination in both personal and professional spheres. Understanding the different behavioral styles of team members can help organizations build a dynamic work environment and better navigate the complex landscape of decision-making.

  • What Captain Sobo in the band of brothers is an example to that. This is military, it is not exactly a ground for democracy, he can be judged as harsh or easygoing at most but as a superior officer, he is not to debate with his inferiors while making decisions. And Darth Sidious should be used instead of Darth Vader as well.

  • This style needs to be renamed to something with less negative connotations. It’s not like we call laissez-faire leadership style as anarchical leadership style (although we probably should). I say rename autocratic leadership style to something like top-down leadership style. PS – I consider myself democratic leadership style but I would much prefer an autocratic leader any day over the dreaded laissez-faire one. At least the autocratic leader is doing their job and earning their higher pay even if I don’t agree with their method. Unlike the laissez-faire ones of whom I don’t know what they do all day. As a democratic style when I seek input horizontally from a laissez-faire, I get nothing but a blank face glowing with a lack of knowledge/technical expertise and get more value from one of their team members who get paid less and do more
