  • Oh i like the idea of reacting to the advert 😀 there have been quite a few over the years. Not had milk tray chocs in a while, i liked them though especially the strawberry ones! those were my favourites they were shaped like a strawberry 🍓 It’s a shame they seem to have gone now, those raspberry ones do sound delicious though 😋 Cadbury also does tins and boxes of roses chocolates which i have not had either for a while as i seem to buy quality street more often. Other British box of chocs companies i like is Thorntons and Hotel Chocolat, Yummy!

  • The name ‘Tray’ derived from the way in which the original assortment was delivered to the shops. Originally Milk Tray was packed in five and a half pound boxes, arranged on trays from which it was sold loose to customers. The pack design has been regularly updated and the assortment itself has changed in line with consumer preferences, and today it is still one of the most popular boxes of chocolates in the UK selling over 8 million boxes per annum

  • Come on Ross, you know you’d look great in a James Bond Tux, fighting your way through a shark-infested Pacific (surely it can be arranged….. you can’t be that far away?!) to finally and mysteriously drop that box of Milk Tray onto Tina’s night-stand (or bed-side table in UK). She’s worth so much more than gas-station chocs! Ooh and we’ll only believe you did it if we see the article!! Thanks in advance and anticipation!! 😅

  • Hello Both. Another Cadbury’s ad you may like is Cadbury Dairy Milk Drumming Gorilla Advert on YouTube. This a different and unusual ad. My late dad used to be fruiterer and after Saturday all the soft fruits like strawberries and raspberries would not keep until his next opening day on Tuesday. If the weather was cold and wet, then these summer fruit would not sell. So, Sunday lunch for us was a Roast Beef lunch with all the veg, Yorkshire Pudding and plenty of gravy. For dessert we would have bowls of raspberries or strawberries with Italian home-made ice cream from Cavina’s in the village. We didn’t have refrigerators then, so it was drive down to Cavina’s or wait for Dai Frosty the ice cream van to call. Raspberries in a ½ pint tall schooner glass a memory of growing up. Strawberries on rice crispies for Sunday breakfast was a similar memory.

  • Excellent article nice combine advert reviews as your views have sky rocketed on this article. Chop in half actually nicer way viewers not had milk tray before see exactly what in the chocolates. Interesting see if your American viewers base increase too, as they like u keep fingers x more cadbury Inc milk tray comes to cost plus world market.

  • the classic ad is the cliff top dive into shark infested waters before he climbs onto a yacht to deliver his precious cargo interesting factoid early on you rarely saw his face mostly because it was all stuntmen but one whose face was featured later appeared as one of the Skydiver (submarine) Captains in Gerry Anderson’s UFO

  • These have changed so much over the years and I haven’t had them in years. But I won’t be trying them again any time soon. The flavours sound so awful and full of sugar. If you write to the companies to suggest stuff, they are so rude back. A few years ago I wrote to the makers of Quality Street to suggest; blueberry, cherry, coconut, coffee and cashew, banana as well as others. I’d even drawn a creative box which could turn into a game for kids. They told me “we already have people creating flavours, we don’t need you telling us what to make”. 🙄 It’s a shame cause the guy who created Quality Street wanted everyone to try chocolate at a time when only the rich in society could afford it. When they first came out they had amazing sounding flavours, but companies just go with what’s easy or super sugary now. Like don’t even get me started on how many flipping things are salted caramel flavour 🤢

  • Melody is so nostalgic at this point. I remember whenever a kid would bring it for their birthday we’d ask them what chocolate they got, and when they replied with ‘Melody’ we would like tap them on their head and run away. Because in Kannada, the language that is spoken in the state that I live in, ‘mele odi’ literally translates to ‘hit my head’. Good times.

  • We used to have a slightly different Fuse in the U.K. I was working in a supermarket when it launched and we all had to wear Fuse T-shirts for the launch. On the bright side, we were each given a couple of free bars to try so we could tell customers what it was like. It was delicious but it’s been discontinued for a very long time now.

  • Yooo where are Cadbury Shots in India’s exclusives?! We also have Chocobakes, don’t we? Not to mention, the the Marvellous and the lesser sugar (diet versions?) are in India too. I personally prefer the cookie nut crunch flavour over the jellybean popping one. Should we also include Bytes (bring them back!) as an exclusive? We have so many different Cadbury’s products, it’s insane

  • Many of the chocolates in India are missing like 5star classic 5star crunchy, 5star chomp, 5star fruit and nuts, dairy milk marvelous collection, silk mocha, brownie mix, perk glucose, madbury collection, dairy milk shots, chokisticks and whole line of celebration collection are missing . Anyways a good article makes me happy as a big fan cadbury products

  • I had an opportunity to visit the Cadbury factory in Birmingham in 2016. Unfortunately, we arrived shortly before they closed, so we weren’t able to go on the tour. We did go thru the gift shop and loaded up on different varieties of their chocolate. It’s too bad that Cadbury has to go thru Hersheys to market in the US, so most Americans don’t get a real taste of Cadbury. My favorite is the mini eggs…especially the white variety. I always try to stock up around Easter.

  • When it comes to drinking chocolates for us 90s and 00s kid one of the best have to be Cadbury Delite which was sadly discontinued. My second favourite would definitely be Milo. But, it’s crazy to think about how these companies managed to infiltrate the daily lives of middle-class households and convince parents to let their kids drink an extremely sugary drink almost twice a day.

  • There seems to be a lot of bars that exist here in Ireland that don’t seem to be in the UK unless they just were not mentioned in the article like cadbury Turkish, caramello, mint crisp, golden crisp, wholenut and a few others. I really hope they bring back the rum and raisin stopped being sold here around 10 years ago

  • Dudee Cadbury BYTES!!! My childhood!!! I miss them! 😭😭 There are new variations of that from different brands but nothing close to what BYTES felt like!! Also, Cadbury chew sticks, don’t remember what they were called exactly, but basically tear it with your mouth nd suck out all the chocolate until the soul of wrapper has escaped!

  • As an American, I refuse to purchase the American Cadbury and will go out of my way to purchase Cadbury chocolates from an Indian store because they import it and its made in the UK. The taste is completely different than the American version b/c it’s brand is being licensed (by Hershey I believe) and the manufacturing is completely different.

  • 5:11 The Mystery Bar concept is genius I think what they’re doing is targeting some particular flavours (say, for instance, strawberry) and then selling these prototypes to see whether their imitation flavour truly matches their expectations. If it doesn’t do that, but tastes good anyways, they can label it as whatever people identified it as most and sell it as that flavour. Reward those who got it right (retroactively really). If it does do that AND tastes good, well that’s a win-win. If it doesn’t do that AND doesn’t taste good either, they can scrap it but get saved from labelling it as something, not living up to the expectations and a lot of failed marketing. This just gamifies the whole process while recruiting the customers to do the heavylifting.

  • I really wish you would not only provide the calorie count, but also the carb count. As a Type 1 diabetic, the carb and sugar count is way more important to me! I truly wish that we had the same food rules and regulations here in the States that the EU has. I’m also very unhappy that Hershey’s now produces Cadbury here in the States.. the Cadbury produced in the UK & EU are infinitely better!!

  • We have the chocolate coated oreos in the uk not sure if its cadbury tho probably is as the oreos chocolate bar and bites are cadbury dairy milk, also we have cadbury drinking chocolate both standard and bournville, Frys also do an orange cream bar that wasn’t mentioned and where are the cadbury ice creams and puddings?.

  • There were some good old stuff with Cadbury’s like Cadbury Bytes (chocolate filled tiny biscuits?), Cadbury Chocki (sleek chocolate filled packets, that you can squeeze the chocolate of out it), Cadbury Milk Treats (Wafers), Cadbury Ulta (Chocolate filled Wafer), there was one more I can’t remember the name of, but it is an exclusive with Disney collaboration, with White chocolate in the middle of a Disney character and normal Milk Chocolate around it. Old memories….

  • In India we got the Dairy Milk Marvellous Chocolates for short period, but I can’t find it anywhere now. It had two flavours 1. Jelly Popping Candy similar to the UK one and 2. I think it had nuts and some caramel flavour. I don’t seem to find it in supermarket anymore. I don’t know whether it was imported or was Made in India. But I really miss the Jelly Bean and Popping Candy flavour. It was too sweet and over whelming but it’s ok to have a bite occasionally.

  • In Malaysia we have Durian Cadbury. Sorry, still find it repulsive and disgusting even though i eat and like durian fruit. I never want to try it ever. But previously we had kopi flavour. It’s coffee flavoured and taste like mocha. Shame that it only been produced for short duration. Another variant is pandan flavoured.

  • Note to Cadbury India .. 1. Please bring back dairy milk 2 in 1. 2.please bring back wowie. 3.please put the golden wrap on for all categories. 4.please bring back bytes. 5.please bring back the old taste or make it like the ones available outside india.. 6.please bring back silk orange peel. . That’s all for now…please

  • a lot of these cadbury chocolates found in the UK and in India are also found in the suburbs of Dubai, Al Ain, Sharjah and Northern Emirates in the UAE too. Amazingly, 5 Star Chocolate you can get them in gas stations like Adnoc, Enoc or Emarat, or in some local indian supermarket in UAE with a resonable cheap price of less than 1 USD (Around AED 2 or 3) on average.

  • Cadbury’s Dairy Milk links the UK and India’s Hindu population in more than just the chocolate, but with the entire invention of this chocolate, thanks to a single breed of cow. The Friesian cow is a sacred sight, in the UK. During WW1, Britain went in search of a cow for maximum milk production for the war effort. Breeders in Friesland (Netherlands) had been cross-breeding with milk production in mind. The result was the black and white Friesian cow. By the end of the war, the cows had been so incredibly excellent in their jobs, that there was a massive excess of milk across the UK. The Cadbury family in Bournville had the idea of putting as much as a glass and a half of milk into every serving of chocolate. They named the chocolate Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. So every time you see a Friesian cow, tell them thanks. Their sweet produce is the real magic in Dairy Milk.

  • @gowri1127 There are artifacts in the museum that were stolen and some that aren’t in the museum, I really hope India will get them back one day as I believe they should belong to their country of origin. I just want people to look at the nicer side of our home country and not look at us as the once evil empire our ancestors made us to be. I just hate the history of my country and it does hurt every time I get reminded by the sins it has done. So again please forgive us🙏

  • And Cadberry creme eggs and the Cadberry fingers have actually made it to select shelf is lock stores in the US. They have a whole section in a local store Big Ten start in the US Nona, stop and shop where they have a whole group of shells just for items from England And I have fried a few items on that shelf and I like your stuff better surprisingly I like your candy better call me a traitor to do US if you need to you guys have the better chocolate that’s coming from somebody who has been born and raised their whole life and it’s 29 years old person 30 saying that

  • 17:00 the wispa chocolate bar is cadburys take on an areo (Mars), for ages cadburys couldnt get the arated chocolate to work so when they were working on it it was actually top secret, supposedly people working on the chocolate had to be quite when working on it hence it was given the code name wispa when then stuck once it became mainsteam. Also anothee fun fact is that the cadbury white chocolate bar used to be called a dream bar.
