Is It Lawful For Your Parent To Refuse A Support Animal?

Emotional support animals (ESAs) are legally protected by various laws that prevent individuals with disabilities from being excluded or limited from certain benefits, accommodations, and services. Landlords are prohibited from denying an ESA from moving into their new place, except in certain exceptions. The only legally accepted document to prove an ESA is an ESA letter. In the United States, there is no legally recognized emotional support animal registry, but internet sites can register cats or hamsters as ESAs.

For an ESA to qualify as an ESA, a mental health or medical professional must write a letter stating that the animal is needed for the mental health of the person. ESA laws do not allow landlords to deny an ESA from staying on their property, except for four exceptions.

HUD states that if the animal performs a task or function for a person with a disability and the person also states that the dog provides emotional support or comfort, then the ESA can be denied. Forcing someone to get rid of their service dog without valid reasons may violate disability discrimination laws.

Service animals are not pets, so a “no pets” policy does not allow a business to exclude service animals. Emotional support animals are allowed access only to residences and select airlines. If a tenant or resident has shown a disability-related need for an ESA, housing providers may deny the request only in certain circumstances. Service animals that assist persons with disabilities are considered auxiliary aids and are exempt from pet policies and refundable pet deposits.

If you have an emotional support or service animal and are looking for a rental, you may be wondering if you can be turned down …

Can a landlord deny an ESA in CT?

The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination against those who use service animals in housing accommodations. Guests must have equal access to all facilities and can’t be charged extra for having a service animal, although they may have to pay for any damage caused. If a lease or rental agreement includes a “no pets” provision, it doesn’t apply to guide or service dogs. Housing providers must also allow emotional support animals when necessary for someone with a disability, such as alleviating the emotional effects of their disability.

Can a 12 year old take care of a pet?

Pre-Teens (ages 10-12) can take on more responsibility with their pets, especially if they have been working with them for a few years. Supervised walks of dogs and playing with cats in designated areas can teach children responsibility. Understanding the responsibilities suitable for different age groups is key to a positive learning environment. Toddlers should always be supervised when interacting with dogs and cats, but they can participate in learning how to care for them. Tasks they can share with their toddler include feeding, measuring portions, and cleaning up. They should never get control of a leash, but they can accompany you on walks to build healthy routines.

How to get around no pet policy?

In the event that one does not require the assistance of an emotional support animal, it is possible to request an exception from the landlord. This can be achieved by providing evidence of one’s commitment to responsible pet ownership, with previous experience of dog ownership serving as a testament to one’s reliability.

What to do if your parents say no to a dog?

To show your parents that you’re ready for a dog, you can plan a daily routine, demonstrate responsibility, research, find ways to help with expenses, and discuss the pros of owning a dog. Winston Pendelton’s “The best way to get a puppy is to beg for a baby brother” is one way to convince parents to get a dog. However, if you want to add a canine companion to your family, you can use several strategies.

First, put yourself in their shoes and address their concerns about time, expense, disruption of schedules, extra work, and potential destruction of furniture and household goods. Highlight the best parts of dog ownership while also addressing their concerns.

To show your parents that you’re ready for a dog, you should plan a routine, demonstrate responsibility, research, find ways to help with expenses, and talk up the pros of owning a dog.

What to do when your parents won’t let you get a pet?

If your parents are against getting a dog, consider making a compromise by asking for a hamster instead. Start with a lower-maintenance pet to make you happy and may push them to agree. Compromise for a later date, like your birthday or Christmas, and consider it a gift. Remember that having a pet takes up time and energy, and it may be the pet you have for the foreseeable future. Don’t view this as an opportunity to prove responsibility for a pet later on, but as an opportunity to bond with a smaller creature. If your parents are hesitant, consider adopting a pet for a few days from someone you know. This will show your parents that you can handle the pet and show them how cute and cuddly it is.

Can you deny a service dog in California?

In the state of California, individuals with service dogs are permitted to access a range of facilities and places of public accommodation, including hospitals, clinics, adoption agencies, private schools, hotels, and resorts. Nevertheless, it constitutes a misdemeanor under California law to knowingly and fraudulently represent oneself as the owner or trainer of a guide, signal, or service dog.

Can a landlord deny an emotional support animal in California?

In California, landlords cannot deny an emotional support animal unless a valid ESA letter from a licensed mental health professional is provided. You can inform your landlord about your ESA before or after signing your lease, or if you are getting a new emotional support animal and will still live in the same place. In California, landlords cannot charge fees for owning an emotional support animal, such as pet deposits, higher rent, additional security deposits, or liability insurance.

Is it OK to be sad when a pet dies?

Pet loss is a natural and normal response to death, and it can be difficult to cope with. It is important to let go of the pain and not let anyone tell you how to feel. Your grief is your own, and no one can tell you when to move on or get over it. It is okay to be angry, cry, laugh, find moments of joy, and let go when you’re ready. Reach out to others who have lost pets through online message boards, pet loss hotlines, and support groups. If your friends and family are not sympathetic, find someone who is, as they may better understand your experience.

What to do when an emotional support animal dies?

The T. R. E. A. S. U. R. E. formula can be a helpful guide for healing from the loss of a pet, while honoring the memory of the therapy animal. The formula emphasizes the importance of taking time to care for oneself, reflecting, exercising, accepting, supporting, uplifting, reminiscing, and expressing. Therapy animal handlers have the privilege of building a profound bond with their animals and spreading the joy of their bond to others. The deep connection between animals and humans is what makes animal-assisted interventions extraordinary.

Grieving the loss of a companion animal is similar to grieving the loss of a human family member or friend. The formula can help individuals cope with the loss of a pet while honoring the memory of the animal. Many support systems are not put in place when a human loved one dies, and the T. R. E. A. S. U. R. E. formula can help individuals navigate the process of grieving a therapy animal.

Can you ask for proof of service dog in California?

In California, public places do not require proof of a service dog’s ownership, but pretending to be one is a criminal misdemeanor with a fine of up to $1, 000 or six months imprisonment. Zoos and wild animal parks have specific rules regarding the use of service dogs, not requiring them in areas not separated from the public by a physical barrier. However, these parks must provide free, clean, and safe kennel facilities and additional accommodations, such as free transportation and sighted escorts for blind or visually impaired patrons and individuals who rely on their service dog for mobility. Emotional support animals are not protected under California law, as they are not allowed in public places like federal law.

  • I am 52 years old and was adopted at birth. I have always been interested in my birth parents and always wanted to know about them and see pictures but when I was adopted open adoption wasn’t really a thing!! I think Brandon and Teresa really need to think of there daughter and be truthful to Kate and Tyler about everything for there daughters sake!!❤

  • When Ty and Cate put their baby up for adoption. They were both minors. The adoptive parents knew they were on MTV. No one knew how long the show would last the fact is it did so they have every right to get online and speak! The girls are 100% biological siblings, they know Carly they’ve met with Carly. They visited with Carly and for her parents to stop all contact is only going to affect negatively the children involved! Let’s not lose sight of the fact that without Tyler and Cate, Carly would not have been brought into this world❤ in three years, which goes very quickly in a child’s upbringing, she will only question why they chose this route, after establishing a relationship with her biological family!

  • I grew up with 3 good friends who were adopted, plus have way over 20 other acquaintances that were adopted. ALL of them sought out their birth families! Even those who knew they came from traumatic homes. ALL of them have continued to keep in contact with their birth families. There is a strong bond between Birth Parents and the children! I strongly believe the Adoptive parents are feeling insecure. I hope they aren’t shutting down Carley’s feelings because they are afraid of loosing her! Maybe that’s what Tyler was referring to being damaging to Carley!

  • I can’t believe how many people side with Brandon and Theresa! I’m guessing the people wasn’t perusal the show 16yrs ago. The adoption agency case worker Dawn, aka the human trafficking baby broker sugar coated and misrepresented the entire process. Ty & Cait we’re young and dumb and these adults knew it. Cait & Ty made it very clear they wanted a open adoption and Brandon & Theresa not only agreed but pretended they also wanted this. They got the baby they wanted. Ty & Cait also helped them get another baby to adopt for Carley to have a sibling. Brandon and Theresa acted like vultures in the hospital dying to pry the baby from Cait. Brandon and Theresa are evil and fake.

  • When I watched his LIVE yesterday I was very impressed with him and his delivery on so many very important topics. He was very transparent and mindful about how this situation affects all parties…including the adoptive parents. I truly appreciate his maturity and humbleness…he doesn’t try to come off as a know it all. If you notice he uses a lot of “in my opinion” or things of that nature. He isn’t even afraid to say “I don’t know if I’m wrong for feeling this way” but is honest with himself and his viewers. Great IG Live from him. I pray they can all heal together and get through this, keeping their daughter’s best interest before anything. 🙏🏼💕

  • Every adoption agency ABSOLUTELY takes advantage of biological parents. If we can pay 30k to buy a baby from an agency, why can we not come up with 30k for parenting classes and counseling to keep children with their families so they don’t face this kind of trauma? Adoption is not a gift to a child. It’s a loss. Maybe for their best, but losing the parents you were born to is not a gift. I 100% believe Carly is better off in this situation, but that’s my personal belief. Carly may feel differently. She’s the only one who can answer that. Adoption should NEVER EVER EVER be used to fill the desires of either the adoptive parents nor the biological. It should ONLY be because it’s the best option for the CHILD, and money should NEVER be the reason behind that. Elon musk could provide my children a better financial situation, better home, WAY better education, better food and possibly even better discipline than I do, but that doesn’t mean the right decision would be for us to give him our children.

  • If Brandon and Theresa dont wanna talk anymore, theyre well within their rights. But the least they could do was contact Cait and Ty and privately explain why. I get they dont want it blasted on social media, but they could establish an agreement where Cait and Ty know their reasons and keep it quiet for Carly’s sake. Where’s the damn respect and dignity. Put a gag order in place or something but to leave them i the dark… gross.

  • I feel like b&t were soo desperate to be parents they didn’t stick to what they actually wanted-which was a closed adoption. C&t coulda did everything “right” & b&t woulda still closed thedoor on them, I’m sure. Little did they think that cate & Tyler would become the emotionally intelligent & responsible loving parents they are today. I get all sides, but so sad for baby girl that there’s whole hour long yt articles about her (I want the tea tho-no shade😅💁🏼‍♀️)

  • Tyler’s comment about the agreement not being legally binding applies to them not being able to legally require contact that was promised. The adoption agency seems shady because they legally took the kids to court to give up their parental rights, however the agreement which promised the visitation was not binding! The agency knew this! It definitely underhanded!

  • don’t have to quit the jobs that they have now and they were allowed to talk about their feelings just not release anything that Brandon and Teresa said to them but now that they cut off contact they feel like they have nothing to lose I’m tired of people telling them that they need to not speak. It’s a free country it’s not right to try to silence people they’re trying to help other people and also convey the message that they still love her and they never wanted to stop communication

  • At the end of the day Tyler was the one that pushed Caitlyn into the adoption, she wanted to keep carly but Tyler constantly told Caitlyn that if they kept Carly they would break up, and unfortunately Caitlyn went along with it. I do think thats why he stayed with her all these years out of guilt. B & T are not bad people they are putting Carly first and they don’t want Carly on TV and to be constantly spoken about publicly, but T & C had to keep talking about Carly otherwise they would have no storyline on the show, so they choice MTV over what was best for Carly. C & T act like B & T kidnapped their child or are mearly babysitters which is so wrong, they need to respect the fact they are Carlys parent’s and only want what is best for her!

  • I wouldn’t want any public figures speaking about any of my children. B&Ts name is on Carly’s birth certificate, not K&T. B&T are allowed to, and rightly so, decide that they do not want their child exploited in the public eye. If keeping them from people who constantly share personal private information about their child online is what it takes, that’s on the ones who decided to not respect that wish. I allow my child to contact and be part of life of all of their biological family…except the one parent who is a gang member and bad influence.

  • As an adoptee, I’m concerned for Carly. She’s 15 and the center of a very public adoption. She did NOT choose this. Tyler and Catelynn chose her parents for her. Now, this is all being publicly discussed on social media. Tyler and Catelynn need to LET HER LIVE HER LIFE! They need to step back and wait to see what Carly wants to do when she’s 18. Otherwise, they’re just putting more emotional stress on Carly. Brandon and Teresa are the adults who can handle it but Carly is also being harmed by the actions of Tyler and Catelynn!

  • They were two young kids who did not know anything and were missled! The show is their bread and butter and they should not have to lower their life style for teresa! They should have the right to communicate with carly if carly choses it. Most kids want to know who and why the bio parents did what they did. I feel they were not told truth about adoptiin

  • They always talk about how hard it is for themselves but maybe it really is Carly that is struggling with the contact, and Brandon and Teresa are the ones who are having to deal with that so they made the decision on behalf of Carly’s own emotional wellbeing. Just being a teen is emotional and confusing enough. Seeing their child heartbroken again and again at the end of get togethers is tough. Then the way they go public with everything doesn’t help. At least B & T have kept Carly and her business out of the public eye. Anything we know has been through Tyler and Cate. As much as they would like to villainize the adoptive parents, everything they do has always been with Carly’s wellbeing in mind. Tyler and Cate don’t have to agree with it or get a say in it. They gave those rights up and need to honor and respect that instead of constantly pushing their comfort and boundaries. Look at the last get together where they brought all these extra people and Cate’s mom was drinking causing a side drama. I think B&T have told them throughout the years their issues (he actually talks about few instances in the article while maintaining that they haven’t communicated with them )and T&C have always pushed back. Now they try to act like they don’t understand why and they’ve been cut off with no reason or chance to fix anything. No no. They’ve communicated throughout the relationship and they’re just done because it doesn’t change, they just end up blasting them, not realizing that those things hurt Carly in the end as those ARE HER PARENTS.

  • If he’s indeed telling the truth, expecting some1 to read ur mind seems extremely entitled & narcissistic. How are they supposed to atone??? More importantly, imo, B & T, have essentially ripped the rug out from under, Tyler, & Cait, & more Importantly, Carly – This is Equivalent to Death. Carly no doubt is Grieving the sudden loss of her Biological Parent’s as they are her. 😊 I have no doubt Carly will seek them out @ 18 if not sooner. Can u imagine the growth physically & mentally in nearly 4 yrs??? Again, the ONLY Comparable is death. The person/ppl they last saw have changed & evolved. They still exist yet, they don’t. This includes biological siblings as well. I truly can’t forsee a situation where there wouldn’t be anger here & which may be in the form of depression if not now, later. Lastly, if is this is related to religious values of the adoptive parent’s as is being incenuated – Doesn’t seem very Christ like imo. This is just sad – I think the attempts to protect Carly from the get go appear as if they will backfire.😢

  • I’m going to say this as if I was a child in this situation. I would be crushed getting constant updates about new children that was welcomed into this world . I would wonder why I wasn’t good enough . I would wonder why they never checked on me but always had to tell me what’s going on their world . I would feel like they’re selfish and wouldn’t want anymore parts .

  • I don’t think they did this bc of what Cate’s brother said; the actual content. That is such misinformation. No Christian or conservative, whatever you want to call us, cares what anyone does in their private time! I do think the actions of Cate’s brother and the drama he caused did have something to do with this. He is a kid that doesn’t understand the consequences of his actions. That doesn’t excuse his behavior and if I were them I would be furious at him! All that happened after their last visit. They are very private people who don’t want any spotlight and Cate’s brother set the relationship between Cate and Ty and Brandon and Teresa on fire.

  • I truly believe with such a strict religious upbringing that carly will absolutely want more with Kate and Ty just out of curiosity and or rebellion but I also truly don’t feel like Kate and Ty have ever given her a reason to be upset with. Even tho none of us can know for sure I do think it’s absolutely Brandon and Teresa I’m just up in the air on the exact reasoning

  • I had to sign my youngest daughter rights over to her foster mom when my kids git taken she was a year and half old and the foster mom did end up adopting her . The judge said sign your rights away and still get to see her or don’t and you will not ever know anything about her bit it is law that they have to stay atleast 50 miles in living range and you have to tell them any major family health issues . No they are not aloud to tell you were they live because people have showed up in past and kidnapped their kids back or harassed the foster or adoptive parents is what my worker told me . If they choose to be close and all that if they want you to have it thats different.

  • This is why I think parents making an adoption plan for their baby should not get to “shop” through a catalogue. If you really want that for your baby, then you need to trust the agency to vet the parents. There shouldn’t be open adoption with visits unless the parents already know the family they chose to adopt their baby. Adoptive parents should be required to provide information tot heir child, counseling for what it means to be adopted, and then when the child reaches 18, they can attend reunification counseling with the biological parents outside of any agreement. This should be for private and foster adoption, IMO. Foster parents will often lie to biological parents and say they’ll stay in contact as well, but it’s not binding.

  • I have to say I agree with Tyler. They dangled Carly in front of them for years. Like after 5 years they would get over the fact the ly gave up their first daughter. Being a young parent myself, parenthood shapes who you are. This experience in their lives are a big part of who they are as adults. They have had a relationship with her. You do not just cut them off with no explanation after being open. It should have been closed if that’s what Brandon and Teresa wanted. It’s their duty for their daughter’s sake to keep the lines of communication open and be clear on the boundaries.

  • I never liked the parents they choose. I seen this coming many years ago. Once they got the child there attitudes changed. But the child is now 15. I have a 14 year old an thats the age where they really start expressing their own opinions she might not want contact with them right now. Let her keep growing an just pray that will change. The drama isn’t going to help

  • Shoutout to T & B for showing what it’s like to be real parents. Love your kids above all else. Set boundaries. Be consistent. They don’t need the internet or the birth parents to tell them what’s best for their child. It’s sad that Carly’s birth parents are so caught up in their own feelings, they aren’t stopping to realize how detrimental it is to put all of a teenager’s business out on the internet. But if they want to ruin any future chance at a relationship with Carly, that’s on them. Glad her parents are holding the line and not allowing the drama and poor influence of her birth parents to be a part of her life right now.

  • These two people who are in their mid 30s are still acting like 16-year-old children, pretending that they are not responsible for the actions that they’ve taken over the last 15 years. Brandon and Theresa have more than fulfilled. They’re obligation to Kaitlyn and Tyler. They promised them visits until the age of five and after that at their discretion, they gave them more visits and they still continued to talk about Carly and Teresa asked them not to

  • But Carly wanted to see them more. Carly wanted to call the girls her sisters. I think it’s really harmful to Carly to allow her to get to the point of wanting and verbally communicating her interest and her wants of seeing Ty, Cate and the girls. To then just cutting it off and severing that growing bond. Because of insecurities within Brandon and Teresa themselves. For years, they’ve been told to reach out, try and communicate, by Dawn and B&T. Then to be cut off without any explanation, just I don’t want to talk anymore. That is childish, that is disrespectful and it’s hurtful. It’s not necessary for them to explain why, but it definitely doesn’t look good on them. They knew the reason Carly was coming to them, because Cate and Ty were 16 years old. They were children and wanted the best for her, they also knew that they were apart of the show. If they didn’t want any part of that, including knowing that it would be a thing that Carly would be continuing as a topic of the story. If that didn’t sit right with them, they didn’t have to adopt Carly. But they did, it’s also 1 thing that it is a situation includes 4 adults and Carly. It’s Carly and 3 biological sisters that will have a special bond no matter what, adoption or not. That relationship had been introduced and had been allowed to grow. So now it’s not just hurting the 4 adults and 1 child. It’s now effecting 4 children. That is harmful. It’s not about an OF. It’s not supposed to be about religion, about selfish parents, about dumb things.

  • might be an unpopular opinion, but- i don’t think their kids would think about carly as much if they didn’t constantly bring her up. nova asked about carly and as cait was trying to gently answer- tyler took over and made it sound horrific. then asking her if she thinks they should be given a reason was so out of pocket. nova is a kid who doesn’t really understand the terms or severity of the adoption. they’re all about breaking cycles, but they’re just causing new and different trauma. they want their parents to respect their boundaries but don’t feel the need to respect the boundaries of carly’s parents.

  • Its obvious B&T chose open adoption SOLELY because it is so much quicker/easier and she was desperate for a baby (i know that feeling having struggled with and overcome years of miscarriage), and because they knew ultimately 100% of the control was in their own hands and they could cut contact whenever they pleased. A text update at least once a week (or even once a month if they feel lazy about it!)… Anyone has time for. Everyone also has time for a once a year visit ESPECIALLY if the bio parents are willing to do all the traveling at the convenience of your schedule. I agree that their fantasies about her staying summers were overkill, but a text and photo exchange 1-4x a month and a visit once a year seems more than fair and doable. They dont seem like God fearing people, they knew when they agreed to an open adoption that theyd phase them out. How sad.

  • The issue was that the adopted parents did NOT want carly to have her life broadcasted on mtv which I totally understand as for Tyler and caitlyn they have NO say over carly they are her biological parents but Brandon and treasa have done a good job in raising carly and are carlys mom & dad I don’t agree with Tyler at all and who knows maybe when carly reaches 18 she may want to have contact with Tyler and caitlyn or maybe she won’t want anything to do with them time will tell…

  • I think they need to not talk publically. At the same time Brandon and Thersea seem very controlling and definitely look down on catelynn and Tyler. At this point their best option is to just be quiet and see how things pan out. Also if you put your child up for adoptions don’t choose someone with opposite moral values.

  • The issuse is they keep talking about personal issues that are not supposed to be talked about with millions of people. Just beacuse they are in the media doesnt meant their business has to be. Just because they adopted a cjild that was on a TV show does not mean anything. I see many comments saying things along the longs of “they should of known this would happen” Nobody expected there to be a teen mom show; let alone have it last this long. Christian service adoption agency can be to blame but thats the agency thay they went with and its not brandon and teresas fault for cate and tys adolescence. Im sure if they actually stopped talking about them on tv like asked; they would have more access. In the episode she literally talks about the phone call after not being asked to talk about phone calls (yes. She was explaining but literally what she said not to do not matter how small of a convo)!! They could be actually damaging Carly and Carly may not want contact so dont believe everything they say. The messages cate sends to her is emotional bombing and can mentally traumatize her hearing how great their bio parents life is without her (i know not what cate/ty wanted but can be viewed that way to a teenager). She could be simialr to how Leah is to Amber in that you are my bio mom vut you keep trashing the woman who raised me; the actual mom and be done that way. We dont know how they feel just what we hear from a biased Cate/Ty.

  • People saying B and T do not owe anything to T and C – they do. They can not say they are being protective of Carly without recognizing that she is very close the age that Caitlyn and Tyler were without any representation and is how that child was put into their arms. Yes, B and T are responsible for decision making for Carly and I have every reason to believe they are loving, responsible parents. But its a once a year visit and a promise made to two underprivileged kids in an agreed party open adoption. So what that they never knew the show/ story would continue. There was no guarantee how the future unfolds. Once a year visit as agreed is not an unreasonable ask. Do the right thing, B and T. Caitlyn and Tyler trusted them. And if their lifestyle does not align with their values than it is still a valuable teaching moment. Annual visit can take place ina visitation center if they are concerned or do not want involved but it would be best for all to put a fake happy face and say things about forever family and love just like they did from start.

  • B+T are evil…IDC I’m saying it. They watched that lil girl disintergrate when she handed her baby over they KNEW they didn’t really want to give their baby away they just felt they needed to give her away in order for her to have a good life which I never thought was true perusal them back then I could see they were being manipulated amd didn’t get fooled by B+T’s sweet as pie act. Carly DESERVES to know her biological family love her and see her as part of them still. B+T did the same to the parents of their adopted son too. Theresa is just like the wives in the Handmaid’s Tale imo. They pretend they do everything for righteous reasons but mainly they are callous when it comes to their ‘picture’ and anything and anyone they see as threatening that. They would have had Carly on TV if it was about them . They were happy to do magazine interviews etc. Cate would have never given her baby up if she knew they would be cut out and that was clear from the start.

  • I’d ask Tyler, what was the last conversation you had with them? Maybe they had a choice and they/he told them his choice and they made a choice themselves to cut contact?.? Maybe their last conversation was a heated one? Knowing that last conversation will help me understand more why they sent their final “I’m not talking to you” text. 😊

  • I’m an adoptee but I had a closed adoption and do not have any contact with my brith parents but ! I wanna say something the way cate is basically spamming Carly’s parents is way tooo much and inappropriate imo also with Tyler having a OF no shade ! But I be embarrassed I I found out my brith father had an OF lolll but make the money I guess Also they need to explain to their daughters that Carly is their brith sister I have a biological brother but I always say he’s my bio brother he isn’t my brother I feel like they are looking at this as a coparent situation not an adoption I understand they were children but they need to leave Carly alone and let her be happy with her parents b&t are her parents c&t are her brith parents period

  • Carly is at an impressionable age.If she is around them it could ruin her.Why would they want their Christian daughter getting high and being a sex worker?Constantly wanting attention on MTV also.Thats not how they raised her.Yes they are doing okay but they still have issues. They aren’t Christian and Carly is.They are different. They have a job to keep Carly’s circle clean. The episode where April is portrayed a drunk no thank you.The whole family is messed up.Tyler left cait when she was pregnant to teach her not to be lazy.Disfuction majorly.

  • Carley may feel really hurt they got rid of her then had all these other kids and then sends pictures and tells her of all the fun things there doing . Maybe her new parents can’t afford it so it’s like them rubbing the fact that they had more kids after her and doing all this stuff with out them now she is older she probably feels left out like she wasn’t wanted her friends probably know the parent had an only fans and picks on her about it she has probably choose to not want to be in their lives anymore

  • If she’s 15 years old and three years will be 18 she’s going right to Michigan and I’m sure. She loves them very much and they love her very much and for those adoptive parents to cause so much friction at this point it’s just ridiculous. I don’t know if I would bother getting an attorney I guess if they do then Tyler should but it’s just insane because love can go forever and go for eternity in the more people you have in your life to love the better off you’re gonna be. They need to let Carly go and visit them in Michigan.

  • I don’t agree with what Tyler and cate are doing, they gave their baby up for adoption to have a better life which Teresa and Brandon are doing . I don’t think it’s healthy for Carly for this back and forth . Later do counseling if Carly wanted to get to know them . They are treating as if Carly is at a relatives house and they are her parents. In reality they are bio parents but Teresa and Brandon are raising her and she is their child .

  • This pair of lazy jobless moochers have used that (very lucky to have got away from them) child as a cash cow storyline for over 15 years so they dont have to work real jobs and can sit around and whinge about a decision they willingly made. They treat her paremts like they are just babysitting the child. Also, they always refer to the child as the other unfortunately named offspring. How her parents havent had a cease & decist amd a restraining order is beyond me.

  • I think yes, they were young when they placed Carly for adoption. However, since she was placed with B and T, they need to respect their boundaries. And they are not doing so. It’s not asking much for Carly pics not online or on MTV or being talked about, and Cate and Ty have done both numerous times . Ty thinks he can be big bad ty without consequences and Cate. I remember a long time ago B and T had asked them please respect her privacy and don’t post and they couldn’t do it. They need to respect their decisions and the adoption parents have done a great job period. Also there needs to be order in place that Cate and ty can’t talk Carly or adoption parents online. They don’t care this making it worse especially for Carly who’s in school and will see it

  • And you reported on Caitlyn speaking out before this whole blocked thing. So she ws already bashing them before that and Tyler has been bashing them for years and painting them as villains. They are very immature people and are selfish so I’d keep my kid away too. They dont care what is the childs best interest, its all them and their feelings and their wants.
