  • I used the same method to clean my GG canvas bag, unfortunately i rinsed the bag upright using running water (instead of brushing with water) and the color of the leather piping transferred to the canvass 😢 now the sides are a little darker than the rest. To those reading this, please dont make the same mistake i did 🥲

  • I watched this article like 10 times. I used your links to buy all products and played, paused, rewound, played again, etc… needless to say, my LV Marly Dragonne GM that I bought in 2017 (Ebay), now looks like it was made YESTERDAY!🎉 From the vachetta, to the canvas, to the zippers… it’s SHINNING, CLEAN & SPOTLESS!. If I were to sell it today (which I’m not) it would EASILY fetch $500 in its new PRISTINE condition (pre-loved)! I’m absolutely THRILLED! The best part was the zipper & hardware “BEFORE/ AFTER” –AMAZING 🎉 FYI: Based on your St. Cloud GM review, I bought that pre-loved too (arrives in 2 days). Now, with the PERFECT cleaning test-run I did today on the Marly, I’m oh so comfortable to clean up the St. Cloud, when it arrives!

  • The vachetta looks better darker, in fact, the honey color that comes with age is what makes these bags look wonderful. In the states, we use Wenol metal cleaner, also comes in a tube and is top notch quality – a little goes a long way and it will restore almost any metal to looking like new. Great article, straight and to the point. A joy to watch. Thank you!

  • Hi there again always enjoy your articles and tips…. After I have cleaned the canvas on the monogram LV’s… Using your methods, I also rub in some Armour all protectant… It not only protects the canvas but also brightens canvas that has become dull and darkened… I know with yours you usually purchase bags in slightly better condition than I do but if anyone is purchasing a really old girl the Amourall Protectant works well…. With the Leather if it is gone too far and just too dark and stained, I either re-colour through dying or using Leather paint… I would be interested in other people’s opinions on whether it is sacrilege to re-paint or recolour the vachetta Leather… Or if they think for example a hot pink customisation of the Leather on a LV speedy 25 is a great way to restore an old bag and save her from been possible landfill…

  • I have a vintage black chocolate bar style Chanel lambskin bag that’s in mint condition that I love so much and a denim Fendi bag. Thank you so much for these tips and I plan on getting more vintage handbags 😊. I keep all of my bags in ther dust bags and place stuffing depending on the style when I’m not carrying them and that helps with preservation! Great information👍🏽.

  • Wow!!! You are amazing… The presentation was clear and very well detailed. I was able to relate and follow the process step by step. I also, liked the fact that you have a very clear objective by showing the steps written on the screen. Most importantly showing the items needed and do the process. Thanks so much for this wonderful informative article. I would like to know if you have a article on how to repair moldy or discoloration pockets.

  • Hi 💕 I need an advice because I have a Marly and I cleaned the sticky pockets but I ruined all the vanchetta. It’s stained with water and now looks awful. I used Leather conditioner and saddle soap but still look awful. I was thinking to paint it and I need to know what kind of products I need to do this. Please help! Thank you! ♥️

  • I have a Damier (Azur, the lighter pattern) and that bag is old and permanently dark on the handles, I just can’t lighten it and have to accept that it’s dark. The only way to color correct it is to paint it, which I’m not ready to do. This is a very good tutorial and very useful for cleaning and conditioning bags…they do need upkeep so the leather doesn’t dry out 👜
