Does Sativa Increase Productivity?

Sativa-dominant strains, such as OG Kush and Super Lemon Haze, are popular for their high THC content, making them ideal for productivity and high energy. They can increase energy and focus after consumption, making them suitable for various activities like work, artistic expression, and productivity bursts. Common terpenes in sativa-dominant strains include terpinolene, pinene, and limonene, contributing to their stimulating effects.

Indica strains, such as Chem Dawg Chem D, offer stimulating conversation, artistic expression, and productivity bursts. However, choosing a strain to boost productivity depends on whether it is indica or sativa dominant. Indica strains can leave users feeling relaxed and sleepy, while sativa strains, some of which are hybrids, provide a spark that can help users feel uplifted, productive, and inspired.

Sativa strains have a reputation for being invigorating and energizing, unlike indica strains, which are more relaxing. They have reported energizing, mood-uplifting, and creativity-inducing effects, helping combat feelings of lethargy and apathy. Sativa-dominant strains generally provide more energy than indica strains, but the effect depends on the strain.

Many users report increased creativity and enhanced productivity when using Sativa cannabis. It can be beneficial for artists, writers, and others who are prone to becoming overstimulated or anxious. A good sativa can also help focus, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a more energetic and productive experience.

Is sativa good for getting work done?

Sativa is a highly stimulating and energetic strain that can create a euphoric “head high” and is ideal for daytime use, boosting creativity and productivity. However, it may be too stimulating for nighttime use. Sativa strains can help with mood boosts, depression, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. They also boost appetite and relieve nausea. Sativa strains have lower CBD levels compared to indica and hybrid strains, but higher THC levels. Hybrid strains are cross-bred with both sativa and indica, grown in greenhouses by professionals. Growers carefully choose each parent strain to develop a specific plant.

Does sativa increase productivity?

Sativas are a type of cannabis that has been demonstrated to provide a range of benefits, including feelings of elevation, increased energy, enhanced creativity, and elevated levels of productivity. It is commonly accepted that Sativas induce an “upper,” resulting in cerebral highs and euphoria. The effects of sativa cannabis can include feelings of heightened energy and alertness, whereas indica varieties may induce a sense of relaxation and sedation.

Does sativa make you hornier than Indica?

The higher THC-to-CBD ratio of the sativa strain, in comparison to the indica strain, may not be conducive to the desired effect of increasing sexual desire, due to the potential for a dampening of libido. Nevertheless, it is more probable that it will induce euphoria and an energy surge, rendering it more stimulating than the relaxing indica strain. In general, the effects of any strain on sexual satisfaction are positive.

Is sativa or indica better for work?

Cannabis strains, indica and sativa, have distinct medical effects and influence energy levels and productivity. Indicas decrease energy and are best consumed in the evening or at night, after a day’s work and activities. They may cause “couchlock” in some patients, causing them to relax. Sativas, on the other hand, are uplifting and cerebral, enhancing creativity and productivity. Indicas provide a “body high” while sativas deliver more of a “mind high”.

However, sativa plants require longer cultivation and yield less medicine, making them more popular on the black market. Patients should never trust or consume cannabis medicine without knowing its exact strain and ensuring it was properly grown, dried, cured, and laboratory tested for purity and potential contamination. Modern cultivators of medical cannabis breed and grow a wide spectrum of strains within both indica and sativa categories to make available the right medicine for a patient’s unique combination of disease, preference, and lifestyle. Patients often choose the mellowing effects of a strong indica strain known for its medical benefits over chronic pain.

Is sativa better for working?

The choice between Indica and Sativa for working out can significantly impact performance and results. Sativa is preferred due to its energizing effects and potential to enhance fitness performance. Sativa strains are known for their uplifting and stimulating properties, making them ideal for boosting energy levels and motivation before exercising. They may also have anti-inflammatory properties for post-workout recovery. However, some individuals may still benefit from Indica strains for relaxation and pain relief workouts.

It’s crucial to consider personal preferences and workout goals when selecting the right strain for your fitness routine. Sativa’s stimulating nature helps individuals stay alert and engaged throughout workout sessions.

Sativa, a type of cannabis, is often considered to provide a more energizing and creative high, but it can also cause anxiety in some individuals. It is also beneficial for those with depression, headaches, nausea, and appetite loss. However, some scientific research suggests that some sativa plants may not be energizing, and both sativa and indica strains have been created in hybrid forms throughout human history.

Does sativa actually help you focus?

Sativa and Indica are two types of cannabis strains with different effects on patients. Sativa is known for its stress-relieving properties, which can help reduce fatigue and depression, and its energizing properties, which can improve focus and alertness. Indica, on the other hand, is known for its pain-relieving properties, anxiety reduction, sleep improvement, appetite improvement, and nausea reduction.

However, the general effects of these strains cannot always be attributed to a patient’s personal endocannabinoid system, and some argue that the classification of Sativa or Indica is an oversimplified approach to understanding the complexity of cannabis strains.

  • As a retired chronic user (even before the era of these super high potency varieties), i can honestly say I’d no longer be a casual proponent of its “harmlessness” Sure, It had a “helpful” time & place in my life (for probably far too long though) & i can practically guarantee it didn’t make me any smarter. Giving it up has brought no regrets & several benefits.

  • I’ve never been addicted to cannabis per se but I’ve gone through brief chapters of life where I enjoy using it until the tolerance sets in and it becomes too difficult to get the right effect. Chasing the dragon, if you will. The thing i noticed that was the most detrimental effect is loss of motivation to do productive things, like working, exercise and especially cardio. This leads to weight gain and loss of strength, non-positive feelings which I suppose are tantamount to depression.

  • I used to be a big time stoner… it exacerbated my anxiety that I could otherwise overcome by just being sober. It caused me to waste a significant portion of my life and changed my trajectory. I used to have excellent memory, was a decent speller and didn’t struggle with basic math. After allowing myself to get sucked into the stoner lifestyle and getting stoned daily for years, that area of my brain has essentially atrophied. It’s sad. It may be ok in small doses, but it’s certainly dangerous on multiple levels to be getting stoned out of your mind regularly.

  • Dry Herb Vaping isn’t being addressed. It’s for sure going to have negative effects, especially in dramatically high volumes. But it’s always lumped into extract based vaping and they’re wildly different things. Like every single drug and digestible substance, there’s a “least bad” way of doing things and I believe this is a massively overlooked topic.

  • I think we ought to worry more about the flouride in the water, the additives in food, the glyphosates and the geo engineering which is done right under our noses and not acknowledged by hardly anyone. It’s just ridiculous to be so willfully ignorant about what the zero carbon is supposed to achieve here, let me give you a clue it is not for the environment and do please remember you are a carbon creature! Stop all the bullshit and start to focus on what’s really happening here can we please! I’m sick of all these stupid topics being discussed whilst all the above is blatantly being carried out and let’s not forget the pharma for profit and CERTAINLY NOT HEALTH cause healthy people don’t bring money into the coffers and to pretend anything else at this stage is either delusional or willful ignorance.

  • Long term cannabis user, quit this year and so happy I did. I wish I could ‘take 2.5mg nightly’ but the problem is, it doesn’t work that way for my body. I’m disciplined, mindful, and have not been able to over ride the dependency factory. After a few days the 2.5mg does nothing, then I’d have to double that dose. After a week or so my body is now dependent on the doubled dose and it doesn’t really provide the effects except eliminating the withdrawal feelings. So I have to up the dose again. On and on till it’s dosing every couple hours through out the day every day all day so I can even function or feel normal let alone the benefits from it. I’ve quit so many times and tried to be a healthy user, but for me I have finally accepted it is not possible.

  • I eventually quit after 30 years of smoking Pot and I would notice that when imbibing in it regularly I would suddenly have problems going to sleep and get anxious after running out or while things were dry. I’ve also noticed no shortage of Potheads who would let the smallest things bother them to no end when they had no Pot to smoke. I’m not saying it should be illegal but Iam saying people wrongly assume it to be harmless and far too many start getting high far too soon in life instead of waiting until they are established adults to try it. Another thing I can say for sure is it sets off those prone to Schizophrenia, Schizzoeffective Disorder and Bipolar.

  • I wish I knew a lot of this a few months ago. I had been smoking fairly consistently and one night I had too much and it sent me into a panic attack. Im told that it could have been a psychotic episode. I havent smoked since and im still trying to recover from my alleged psychosis, I at least hope I can recover…

  • Smoked for several years starting in my teens. Stopped for over decade. Recently tried out an 1/8th. Honestly, the first joint generated an interesting perspective shift allowing some introspective thinking, but overall it made me agitated and jittery whilst sapping energy (I slept for 10 hours each night as opposed to 7.5). I usually wake up annoyed at life, but I was waking up feeling gratitude for just being clear headed again. There’s no way I could do it as a regular thing again or even socially. In its current format it’s closer to a psychedelic than a recreational substance, and as such should be treated that way and used very sparingly for a specific purpose.

  • Damn im really diving deep into those kind of articles, as an 23 year old cannabis patient i can draw so much knowledge out. Of course i initially became interested in cannabis as an therapeutic due to me liking the hedonistic use aswell, but today about 4 years into the therapy (yes i was 19 when i started and was on heavy opioids) i feel like the negatives are crippling up on me. What makes it complicated for me is that the lets say Performance niveau im working on today (for somebody with conic pain prothesis und trauma) only became possible for me because with cannabis i got a way to manage my pain better, for example make my pain(time) profile, since i suffer from fluctuating cramps an nerve pain for exapmple, more suitable for university. For example, I have been able to successfully pursue my psychology degree for four years. My original assumption was that the negative aspects of cannabis are caused by the attitude with which I approach the use and therefore as a patient with an actually good reason to use, I feel less of these negative aspects on a psychological level, despite all this I notice how the negative aspects accumulate bit by bit and I’m just not sure whether they might have a completely different reason or I need to regulate my use further down but then I’m faced with the question of how to deal with the pain in the future.

  • As someone that has been addicted to weed since I was a teenager I’m so glad there is finally some push back on all the weed glorification ffs. Honestly pop culture, music and movies played a massive role in me smoking weed and helped me make excuses trying to justify it as beneficial somehow when I first got addicted as a teen.

  • I wonder how much ones environment and perspective/opion of cannabis affects ones experience of cannabis? In the case of heavy metal music – it can relax those who enjoy metal but can intimidate those that do not. Much like with classic psychedelics, ones state going into the experience can have a large effect on the experience itself. If one believes cannabis is for lazy people and that it will make you lazy then it is more likely to do so. On the contrary, if you get rid of any prior dogma or stereotypes and just listen to your body, cannabis can bring about boosts of energy or creativity but these positive effects can be easily overpowered by the mind. Just some food for thought.

  • I am a 70 year old white male and I use cannabis once every 3 days in tincture form. I mix .25 mg of 100% THC plus .25 mg of 1:1 THC to CBD. It usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to kick in. I then experience a very pleasant high usually for about 3 to 4 hours. This is when I tend to exchange texts with various friends and I find the THC high enlivens our conversations and I get more enjoyment out of them. I never drive when I am under the influence of THC. If I have to leave my house I call an Uber. I find that I sleep very well after I use this mixture and wake up the next morning with no hangover or after affects of any kind. That’s the advantage of using cannabis vs. alcohol. I want to experiment with mixing in a micro dose of a psychedelic like psilocybin with my cannabis mixture but I’m not sure if that’s advisable. I have never ingested a psychedelic before.

  • Street homelessness and cannabis use? GTFO, Jeasus Chris what a rediculous comment to say to all the vets, people with mental health issues that never used cannabis, abuse, and a ton of other conditions that lead to that. A lot from cannabis use?! I am no proponent of cannabis but this comment is just foolish.

  • The problem with a lot of moderrn cannabis is that is being bred for high THC and unfortunately the other cannibinoids are being bred out. This isnt always the case but if you look at the values there is often just very litte percentage or cbd, cbn, cbc, cbgs. Fortunately there is the market now for the high cbd and C cannibinoids lol. I feel some of that modern cannabis loses that entourage effect in pursuit of How High. So the link between high THC being the Pyscho active cannibinoid and mental illness makes total sense looking at it.

  • Gimmi a break. I have a great deal of respect for Huberman and his insights. But his answer of an adult who occasionally uses Marijuana on the weekends “Probably not…” That’s a pathetic week bias answer that hides the real underline odds and truth. The odds of Marijuana or alcohol used occasionally or rarely having ANY significant negative impact on a person’s life is about as good as winning the lottery. He clearly has a bias against ALL substances regardless of their use. You could use his “probably not” answer to basically anything in life. Will you get hit by a car tomorrow and die? “Probably not” Will you trip down a flight of stairs and break your neck tomorrow? Probably not. Well, by that type of answer, the way it was delivered with a pause and caution in his tone and demeanor, we should never leave our bed because you know, “probably not” every way to die is lurking around the corner.

  • I think when it comes to any substance, plant, extract, molecule, anything. It’s always wise to remember individual responses will always have particular nuance even outside the general awareness, and cultural stereotypes. The cannabis now is much more potent than when I was younger (maybe fortunately) but I’ve found if I’m doing dabs or bongs (which I don’t do for this reason) I tend to feel like I’ve just been sucker punched and lose all ability. I personally smoke joints, to increase verbal fluidity, to reduce metabolic input lag which increase propioception and kinesthesia, to reduce myositis and various pain/nerve related issues, increase muscle mind connection, gut brain axis connection, reduce insomnia etc. It is a medicine for a lot of people and the risks are shadowed by the rewards especially compared to alternatives. Tim does have valid points on potency but something tells me his individual chemical make up means any more than a microdose is unviable for him where as others have to take pretty large doses before they see any remission in symptoms of which they use the cannabis for.

  • Oh Jesus Christ this guy.. If you wanna talk about depression or addiction or depersonalization from weed abuse then by all means go for it but this constant bringing up of psychosis is just dumb. There’s much more relevant potential side effects to focus on. And these homeless people on the streets who are psychotic turn out that way because of natural mental illness combined with methamphetamine and long periods of sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation has a ton to do with it. Also let’s stop pretending like high potency drugs are somehow worse. If you have higher purity, guess what? You just take a lower dosage.. It’s not rocket science and anyone who’s dabbled in drugs (correctly) and paid attention will tell you that lower purity drugs and things like low quality weed always has worse side effects, a less clean feel and a greater amount of actual pharmaceutical/plant material that has to be taken into the body.

  • I feel like if an adult starts at like 25 even if they smoke once a day or so the risks are far less then starting at 14 years old Like me as a 33 year old male when I smoke I can smoke 3 joints in a night chill and the next day I would feel exactly the same even on days I wouldn’t have smoked – and it’s funny because it used to not be like that for me Like when I was younger and I’d get super duper high the next day I’d feel like shit – now I just get dry eyes

  • Low dose is great. I mix 2-1 ratio of CBD to THC. The THC flower is max 20% strength. The CBD flower is minimum 20% strength. Mainly use it for pain management. But depending on my blend I can garner focus or relax. I also do it before lifting to keep pain low and focus on the lifts. But I have massive respect for the plant. It is a mild psychedelic, hence why I avoid strong THC strains. Also focus more on terps that are good for pain or for relaxing. I can totally understand why high dose thc can be a problem. It really is a mind warping chemical. If that’s your thing, cool. But for me I learned to treat higher dose THC as a psychedelic and thus set and setting are key.

  • Man this was ridiculous..”No Cannabis is better than any”..Talk to vets with PTSD, people with chronic health issues that pills only made worse and addictive, artists who function great and are supremely productive while high (Seth Rogan, Willie Nelson, etc) then maybe redo this entire show..By your own admission you mentioned that Cannabis is different for everyone then pretty much go on to say that you shouldn’t use it?..Besides teenagers (obviously, same with alcohol and teens), most people would benefit imo from some form of usage be it moderate or more depending on how you react and what you do with it. Would be a more peaceful world (see stoners vs drunks) and the money wasted, lives ruined because of the “war on drugs” would not be. Seriously dude, Andrew is so way off on this, its laughable.

  • Hash and tinctures have been around for centuries. There has always been concentrates. Also cannabis cannabinoids in their acidic form do not have any psychedelic or psychoactive effects and they can help in different ways when they’re in their acidic form too. THCA has shown to help seizures in the theta brain waves which are mainly focal and focal unaware seizures. CBD is really good for kids with dravet syndrome but not all kinds of seizures. As far as brain plasticity goes it’s pretty much changing all of the time. Seizures cause brain plasticity and psychedelics cause brain plasticity too. There’s 2 sides of plasticity. There’s maladaptive plasticity that’s bad for the brain and can create problems. Cannabis is like any other medication. Some people can have an allergic (that’s what they’d say on tv) to the medication. And just like all medications there’s different doses for different people. Giving your kid/teen benzos or epilepsy benzos are probably a lot worse than some cannabis.

  • Have you ever tried it yourself? I’ve been smoking weed every other day with THC levels from 10% to 20% for 20 years and have never (badly) experienced what your “experts” claim. It has been an amazing therapeutic plant medicine for my anxiety and has benefited me on my spiritual journey and growth. I’ve been aging fantastically, I’m amazingly fit physically and mentally.

  • I also find 2.5 milligrams beneficial for occasional sleep issues via edible dosing. I also have found 2.5 dose beneficial for day use to calm my anxious feelings and rumination or help to increase my feeling of presence in the world around me, which I struggle with due to complex trauma. I use this rarely however, for no other reason outside of my own pure inconsistency. For whatever that is worth! I wanted to share.

  • As an very informer ex heavy cannabis consumer You might sleep more easily with thc but the quality of your sleep, even if you dont notice it, is greatly diminished. (The paradoxal phase in which your brain regenerates and in which your dream is disabled if you take thc before sleeping) Furthermore if you take it regularly you will end up increasing the dosage to have the same effects . And no high thc edible could not be considered as a psychedelic

  • Over here in Europe currently smoking a joint with cannabis concentrate (hash). I had to go back to the dealers area to return the stuff I bought first as it was inflaming my throat (very likely due to poor quality) then I got some new stuff here in return which is almost as bad as the first stuff I got. I envy those who are allowed to purchase legal and pure quality weed. Usually I try to avoid the bottom grade stuff, but the quality hash has been disappearing it seems. I’m bummed out that we have to settle for low quality maybe even adulterated weed.

  • I lost my brother 18 years ago to “cannabis induced psychosis” which ultimately led to his demise. This is commonly known about in the mental health wards, the outcome for schizophrenia is low because ultimately they end up taking their lives or accidentally overdosing on other things. To drown out the voices. Interestingly- it’s is young men, late teens to early 20s. But what wasn’t mentioned here is that women in late 30s are at higher risk too. I’m extremely careful now I’m in this bracket, and clearly it’s in my genes. It breaks my heart to imagine all the gravestones and people who have gone out this way. He loved to smoke so I’m not against anyone here but I’m not going to tread lightly when I’ve seen what I’ve seen.

  • I am the heaviest user I’ve ever met and it’s a serious problem, any substance that ruins sleep schedule and kills appetites completely when stopped is 100% addictive and there’s too many kids devoting all their time and energy to getting high, destroying their developing reward systems along the way.

  • I can say I function on edibles to a degree..its def better than Xanax. However it takes between 75-100mg daily as an effective dose. Anything more is a bit of a hangover but less is not effective. I didnt do drugs as a kid and my stuff was more trauma and Military and the meds they give me are too strong.

  • He’s spot on, I’ve had 8 psychotic episodes all triggered by Cannabis. Was a horrible experience and I had delusions of grandeur, one episode lasting 3 years. I also ended up homeless several times and I can confirm a lot of people I know in the homeless community and mental illness triggered by weed. Not saying I hate weed, I miss it and wish I could smoke but unfortunately my genetics and the fact I smoked heavily since 15 I simply can’t smoke for more then a few months without going back into psychosis.

  • I’m 62 and have been smoking pot almost every day for about a year. I feel great and love it. It’s much better than drinking. I usually do glass bong hits and dabbing with my Peak Erig. I haven’t had alcohol for over a year and I’m not on any medications and am in good health. About once every two weeks, I’ll get truly stoned, but usually, I only smoke enough to get a mild buzz in the evening, after 5pm. – One tenth of a gram of dab. I think certain people have addictive personalities and that causes problems with any substance, be it drinking, pot, meth, drugs, pain killers, prescriptions, etc. It’s wrong to vilify marijuana and single it out, especially when the real killers – cigarettes and alcohol – are sold everywhere and encouraged. So, if you’re like 95% of the population and do not have an addiction gene and if you have a normal amount of will power, go ahead and light up and enjoy. Just be responsible.

  • For me with my epilepsy, it keeps me away from thinking negative and being depressed. I can go to work like any other person, I have a full time job and really work hard. Work doesn’t make me feel like being lazy for as I have to keep active for time to move. BTW I don’t have a prescription for weed, but have take a whole lotta of anticonvulsants that make you feel like a zombie and trigger you to depression and anger as side affect

  • Depends on were you buy and who and what ‘ . Commercial Bush is marawana’ weed ‘plus some seeds Why are they still getting it mixed up therfore after I guess the sweedish seed vault would be very useful but Because of vast differences in marwana if you smoke for 30 days or more its becoming very clear the mind of the young becoming very difficult to let the mind Adjust to normal state of relaxation. When forced the young generation are very intolerant drill(. Music) I hope this helps as through out Covid it’s helps 85% instant full control over the virus ❤❤❤.And body . United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Specs may differ But yes it’s a Winner 🏆 🥇Lab test brilliantly Dun

  • i’m 22 now and through my whole life, i’ve never had a single cigarrete never tried any cannabis or marijuana of course i had depression and anxiety but i managed to deal with all this naturally. lately i noticed that i’d really wanna try hash just to feel how ‘high’ feels like but at the same time don’t wanna get addicted or ruin my life.

  • Amateur Health Researcher with over 20 years experience. Science based facts. The cannabis of today, sold legally in shops is designed for potency and does indeed have psychoactive properties. It forces a change in brain chemistry, no small thing. This needs to be taken seriously and driving or operating machinery while high is extremely dangerous. It is highly addictive, period. The difference is that withdrawal symptoms are very mild and mostly psychological. I had a close friend who defended cannabis usage to the point where his multi-million dollar real estate holdings were all gone and he was living in a van in the mountains outside San Diego. Heavy pot smokers typically turn very negative and steal from others. They also make life very difficult for those around them. Tens of thousands of rural properties have been seized simply because users will attempt to grow in a restricted area. Smoking pot causes atrophy of the thymus gland, the master gland of the immune system, (not well known by medical professionals.)

  • For some young people dealing with stresses in college, dealing with other mental health issues like ADHD, Bipolar, depression, disrupting sleep. It all plays a huge role in psychosis and lasting schizophrenias for some people. It’s horrible and it ruins peoples lives and those who work in the mental health field know about this, they know. Psychiatry has no real understanding of what to do or how to restore people’s lives after this happens Ketogenic diets should be a first line treatment but reguardless, people need better options

  • 5 mg of edible sativa causes me to develop radio and tv reference. In other words I felt like the radio and tv were conveying messages directed specifically towards me. Sometimes it was really cool but at times it was very scary. I have a family history of schizophrenia. Oh I’m also a medical doctor and I don’t eat weed anymore 😊

  • This is a comment or opinion about this subject. Alcohol and drugs what is the name of a drug? If you drink something that has sucralose or aspartame you will have serious arthritis pain. The only thing that helps is Tylenol/5 caps every 5 hrs. Nicotine from a cigarette a person who smokes it? And a person who does not smoke it. Is that considered a drug? Yes or No? What or how you are feeling? Are you unhappy? Why are you not happy? Can you be happy? Yes or No? Can you tell me. If you drink a beer? Do you have to get drunk? And drink more beer? By yourself? If you are not happy? Are you in a good or bad mood? You can fool yourself. Something that you do? Imaginary friend. That is your choice to pick who or what you want a friend to be. Who cares? Is a friend to me. Ask you something? Do you want to be happy? Or you just feel O.K. Do you smoke Marijuana? And you are unhappy? You probably smoked too much of it. Do you feel O.K. if you don’t smoke it? You know what? People that you know does not have to be your friend? This is my opinion, 6/7/8 hours at night and you don’t fall asleep is Insomnia and that’s not healthy. That’s the reason why I stopped drinking regular coffee. And I take a sleep dose 75/50/25mg Benadryl/Diphanhydramine Observation Executive Office

  • From my personal experience, I have a few discrepancies; I’ve for sure had reactions to even 10mg CBD tincture, especially in terms of restfulness in the morning. I’ve also felt “stoned” (slightly) from CBD tincture, as well as gotten the munchies. Once I dabbed a CBD strain, and I got very stoned, not as much as a regular dab, but it got me pretty damn ripped. For THC; I’ve been smoking flower for 25 years or so, and honestly it was pretty strong back then, too, at least on the West Coast. The difference between 18% or 28% can be less than you think. They both can get you absolutely ripped off a single bong hit if your tolerance is low (like mine). That might be where terpenes come in to play. I’ve certainly found that if something smells great, it will make you feel great, and terpenes carry all those beautiful aromas.

  • As someone who was heavily involved in the regulated market in Colorado, I can tell you it’s not nearly as safe as they’d like you to believe. Definitely NOT “not addictive”. Health benefits are not what they’re claiming. Capitalism/poor work conditions are finding their way into the industry. They once touted cigarettes as a “healthy stress reducer”….now look at them

  • I didn’t start using cannabis until I was 40 years old. It’s the best thing I’ve ever used for pain and sleep. It got me off a variety of meds and is one of the only things that can combat multi day insomnia. It’s the only thing that shuts my brain off. It’s crazy I’m a caddie by trade I walk at least 10 miles a day at work and I still can’t fall asleep at night. It’s not abnormal for me to be spun out for as many as 5 days to the point where reality becomes tenuous. Sleep depro is insane. Your body just can’t recover. There is definitely some anxiety though with high dose edibles. Waking up in the after glow sucks.

  • Weed helped me realize if I want to be a true man..I gotta use my hands. Can’t let Mr what his name take my time/profit so he can get high on his time. Sadly those bosses or Mr what his name trashes the world like it’s YOLO..yet I’m still smoking taking walks on a beach I cleaned up on my free time..

  • I smoked weed for the first time when I was 14. Started heavily smoking for a few years and then I developed an anxiety disorder from it. Some people will argue “well it was predisposition, weed just brought it to light” no… it was because of marijuana use at a very young age. Now as an adult male with a fully developed brain I can’t take even a little amount of thc without having a psychotic break. There’s most likely a major problem with using marijuana before your brain fully develops. I don’t know how you could run scientific tests about adolescent use but if I could go back in time I would. I’d never use marijuana that young

  • Does anybody else use cannabis 1 or 2 times per month? Almost everyone here in the comments are smoking it daily. And many of my friends also. I only use it mainly in edible form avarage 1 time per month. The magic is always there and I use it mainly to get fun and relaxing night alone or with friends. Have been doing it like this for 10 years now.

  • @6:20 I would argue that this description of teens is becoming more common in general. Connecting it to cannabis is easy, but misleading. This type of teen is becoming more normal, without the use of cannabis. My personal belief is that it has to do with technology, smartphone addiction, social media addiction, and major cultural shifts tied to this.

  • As someone who has severe anxiety from anything resembling an “experienced” dose, 2.5mg has been a game changer and I am so relieved that so many companies have embraced this and make products with a low dose. 2.5mg is more anti-depressant for me than any SSRI or opioid given to me by a doctor and I feel normal, happy and energetic. Companies that make these THC drink shots with 50+mg of THC are doing a disservice to the community.

  • Started at 12 only cannabis and not every day but at 14 smoking weed was life than 16 to 23 smoking the high thc pens were very dangerous aswell mix with lsd smoked my last joint and hallucinated that I had to stop for while get my shot together hopefully and I pray I can continue to use cannabis after a good tolerance break but yea shouldn’t smoke if not over 25

  • Connecting psychosis in homeless people to cannabis is a gross oversimplification of a complex situation. Not a valid point. Causality cannot be linked. What other commonalities do most all homeless people share: trauma/abuse. And it’s no surprise that many of them tried cannabis, but that does not put cannabis as the cause of their psychosis… it is interesting as someone who has an, albeit anecdotal, life experience (and countless friends) that flies completely in the face of this ‘scientific’ interpretation of the likelihood of bad things happening to people who use high THC cannabis. Again, what other commonalities are shared by people who use high THC cannabis? I bet they all drink water too. Let’s talk about the risks of drinking water and all the things that can be inaccurately linked to it as a cause of psychosis, depression, stupidity, etc. 🤦🏻‍♂️come to think about it, everyone that drinks water eventually dies… so: water kills everyone! (That’s a joke;) I’m unimpressed with Hubermans pseudo-scientific attempt to demonstrate a complete understanding of something we have only begun to study. Talk about the endocannabinoid system and the roll it plays in governing many other functions of the human body. We just discovered it. It’s unintelligent to claim that we understand cannabis and it’s connection to psychotic events. We just don’t. And the experience that I and so many others have had that doesn’t fit into this box, will eventually be understood but for now, this article is as useless as Reefer Madness… but it’s so enticing to seem like you know what you’re talking about, I get it… respect to you Huberman, but I think you’re off point on this one…

  • It works for me but it’s not for everybody apparently which meaning your mileage may vary person to person on how they can handle cannabinoids in the CB1 and 2 receptors there is also a new one out there called thca which is hemp derived and it is perfectly legal it does in fact hit just like the illegal version of Delta 9 that we all know and love

  • Gonna quit on Sunday for a few weeks been smoking heavily everyday for 6 years and haven’t had the greatest of times like a lot of us haven’t if you reading this and you smoke everyday I would highly recommend stopping as soon as you can it’s really hard to come off this’ll be my 5th attempt and I’ve had first hand experiences of exorcism like withdrawal systems seeing floating demons like an acid trip gone bad if you’re gonna smoke it it’s better to smoke it on a day off in the morning after breakfast ect and smoking it whenever through out the day I find when I’ve been working or haven’t smoked it all day on the night when a light a joint the effects just don’t feel the same makes me very paranoid but if I smoke it throughout the day I’m fine so when or if I want to smoke again I’m just gonna have it 1 day a week on my day off throughout the day love weed just hate how antisocial it makes me like I just want to sit in my own energy and my energy only wish me luck

  • What is considered a high dosage thc? Currently not smoking. But i tested early at 12 years old. And then around age 15 it snowballed to from once in a while to a gang who smoked everyday. In sweden 15 years ago i dont think its super strong, but often we get hasch easier depending on factors. My dad started earlier then me, and never stopped. He had ADHD and later in life became scizophrenic and well, details. He recently passed and i coped with started smoking again. 2.5 g everyday i think. Restocked alot for 1,5 months. Its like you cant stop. I become tolerant so quick, i only smoke by myself well the times i do. Am i predisposed to mental illness because of this? Thankful for anything at all, opinions, knowledge. Personally i dont want to smoke or stuff anymore, i lost the touch and became a couch slouch with it.

  • I use THC in pair with my therapy because my body reacts too strongly to side effects of regular medications, such as citalopram, venlafaxine, ritalin, etc. When your usage is well controlled and balanced, it can honestly be quite helpful. It helps me focus on my work and helps me regulate my mood, just like meds would. But please keep in mind *paired with therapy, planned usage with the therapist and regulated dosage* Abusing the thing is detrimental on all levels

  • 23 year old male. Tried a 10 mg edible once. (Never have smoked, or even had nicotine, and also don’t drink). It gave me anxiety to this day and its been 9 months. I had never experienced anxiety in my life besides in moments where it seemed appropriate (public speech, job interview) I would advise anyone to avoid weed. I ‘m not going to explain the mental suffering ive endured, but there is absolutely no way it is worth even the smallest risk of that. I wasn’t even aware that this kind of suffering existed. It is something you want to stay ignorant to.

  • for his comment on not liking the “better than alcohol” argument, “as if we need to choose between the two”, before legalization, it was get drunk, or get a pill. what other way to handle stress? no fitness culture before 2016. it is interesting how some none users don’t get this. this is the first drug the people chose for themselves, not prescribed or advertised.

  • Marijuana is an incredibly psychoactive until you get a tolerance and then it barely has an effect… like most substances I actually see as much of a danger w tolerance as so many people have to smoke/dose higher and higher and they’re pretty much blunting the medicine by using it chronically.. Also it’s a good thing it’s becoming more potent for one reason which is you don’t have to damage your lungs w as much smoke.. Yes the smoking is the unhealthiest part about marijuana consumption so go for edibles if you use it and not every day to avoid tolerance..and things like insomnia withdraws And balancing thc with cbd is key and probably why a lot of people get anxiety who only consume thc..
