Does God Assist You With Your Assignments?

Homework is a crucial aspect of Biblical counseling, providing guidance and support to counselees in various aspects of their lives. It can help counselees view their circumstances through the lens of Ecclesiastes 12:12 ESV, with three key steps to be worked on: prayer to God, self-reflection, and growth closer to Christ.

In Biblical counseling, homework serves as a foundation for bringing hope and help to sinners and sufferers, regardless of their own or someone else’s sin. Effective homework must be biblically based, as God’s Word alone is the source of wisdom.

There are four simple steps that can make getting good grades a reality: relying on God in stressful times, working hard, and doing everything for God’s glory. Jesus emphasizes that worrying can’t add a single hour to our lives, but we should still do it anyway.

God gives both assignments and suggestions, but when there is a ‘commandment,’ we should pay closer attention. Every God-given assignment is important because we are daughters and sons, and He doesn’t give His children unimportant tasks. Homework can be a frustrating battle, but it can also be a blessing when done properly. Child-friendly text and entertaining illustrations can help children think about behaviors they encounter in daily life and pray about them. By following these steps, you can create a homework routine that is both beneficial and spiritually helpful for your child.

Is cursing a sin?

1 Peter 3:10 emphasizes the importance of keeping one’s tongue and lips clean from evil speech, lying, swearing, cursing, and other deceitful words. Christians should strive to be free from deceit and dishonor in their lives and words.

Cursing does not always lift one or others up, as people may perceive it as inappropriate or shameful. This is why some people may whisper their use of profanity in certain settings or avoid it around children or children at church or home. This is because it is not seen as a motivator for positivity and is often seen as uncouth and shameful. Therefore, it is crucial for Christians to maintain a clean and respectful language in their lives.

What does God say about assignments?

We are created by God in Christ Jesus to perform good works, which God has prepared for us to do. Don’t hesitate or miss assignments, even if they seem insignificant. The church in Europe was founded by Paul, who spoke to a few women of a river bank. The size and scope of the assignment are up to God, and the effectiveness and lasting impact of your service are also His responsibility. Be faithful, available, and obedient.

The Holy Spirit, sent by the Father in Jesus’ name, will teach and remind you of everything He has said. The assignments God has given have taken me beyond my comfort zone, with some starting small and growing larger, and others becoming major tasks.

Is it a sin to cheat on assignments?

The Bible frequently discusses honesty and lying, with Proverbs 12:22 stating that lying is an abomination to the Lord, while Leviticus 19:11 emphasizes the importance of not stealing, dealing falsely, and lying to one another. This aligns with the eighth commandment, “not bear false witness against your neighbor”. In the gospel, Jesus contrasts those who accept the truth with those who do not, stating that those who do not understand his message are from their father, the devil, who does not stand in the truth.

He explains that those who lie are speaking according to their own nature, as they are a liar and the father of lies. St. Paul also encourages Christians to avoid lying, stating that they have stripped off their old self and clothed themselves with a new self, renewed in knowledge according to the image of their creator.

Does God want us to work a lot?

Does God want us to work a lot?

In Genesis, God created the world through work, allowing us to resemble Him and honor Him. Work is not a punishment, but rather a way to serve Him. Colossians 3:22 encourages servants to obey their owners, working hard for them as they would for the Lord. This obedience ultimately serves Christ. As sons and daughters of God, we have different talents and abilities, which can be used to serve Christ and share His love with others.

The Bible also emphasizes the importance of rest, as God worked for six days and rested on the seventh. By giving ourselves time to rest and be in God’s Word, we can recharge for the future and be prepared to serve Christ in whatever comes our way.

Does God say to go to school?

2 Timothy 2:15 emphasizes the importance of studying hard and proving oneself to God, which applies to education as well. As a student, it is crucial to indulge in your work and strive for excellence. It is essential to prepare for classes and stay ahead of the curve in your studies.

Matthew 6:33 emphasizes the importance of seeking God first in our lives. Education should never come before our relationship with God, as He will provide everything else. As college requires hard work and more time, it is important to take time to talk to God, pray, and read the Bible. Life is full of challenges and demands, and it is essential to remember that God is near, willing to listen, and able to help. By putting God first, we can live and grow in our faith on a college campus.

Can God help me with anything?

Can God help me with anything?

God promises to help us overcome our daily failures by intervening in our lives through the Holy Spirit. We often struggle with our weaknesses, inconsistencies, and repeated failures, as we desire God’s will but also harbor selfish desires. Paul assures us that God will step in and take care of us, assisting us in our prayers and intervening in our circumstances.

One area where our weakness is evident is in our prayer life, where conflicting emotions and selfish thoughts can arise. Sometimes, we are so sick or weary that we can only ask for help, but God understands and ensures that our prayers are acceptable and effective. The Spirit also helps us in our weakness, as it intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. The Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will, making it reassuring to know that God understands and helps us in our prayers.

Can I just talk to God?

Praying through the Psalms is a powerful practice that doesn’t require perfection or polishedness. It’s a way to connect with God and share personal thoughts, just like a good friend would. To make this a daily habit, join the Praying Through the Psalms study guide, available in the free First 5 mobile app starting August 7. Devote writer Shae Hill, who contributes to the study guide, shares a prayer from Psalm 61:1-2, which encourages God to listen to our prayers and guide us to higher heights.

Is it OK to ask God for help?

The scriptures encourage us to ask questions and trust in God’s help when we don’t know something. As God’s children, we often struggle to understand how things will happen. In the Bible, stories like Jesus’ mother Mary’s questioning about the birth of Jesus and the angel’s revelation about bearing the Saviour help us gain wisdom. In Exodus, Moses’ questioning about God’s plan to free the Israelites from slavery demonstrates how we can ask questions about God’s identity and message. By asking questions, we can gain a deeper understanding of God’s plan and gain wisdom in our lives. By doing so, we can better navigate the challenges of life and make the most of God’s guidance.

What does the Bible say about homework?

Biblical counseling relies heavily on effective homework assignments, also known as projects for growth. These personal application tasks, given by biblical counselors, help counselees translate sound instruction into action and instill hope for change. They release God’s Word to continue working in-between sessions and gather data for future sessions. Effective homework must be biblically based, as God’s Word can cut to the heart. It should be applied within the context of a local church, as only God’s church can provide support for counselees’ growth in godliness.

The homework should be change-oriented, directing counselees toward Christlikeness. This involves addressing the inner person until a changed heart leads to changed behavior. The homework should be scaled appropriately for each person’s maturity and life situation. Practically, the homework should include specific instructions for counselees to follow in-between sessions. Creatively designed homework can minister to each counselee, but the general principles remain the same.

  • So… there’s a thing I’d like to point out. Ancient Egypt had a certain practice wherein a person could be erased from their history. Hatshepsut and Akhenaten are two prime examples of this: Pharaohs who were erased so thoroughly that only chance discovery revealed their existence. To consider that someone powerful who betrayed a Pharaoh and weakened his position would be subject to the same level of effective erasure is not outside the realm of possibility. Just saying, it happened.

  • I have no idea what Jehovah means because it’s a made up word. But Yahweh means “I am”, not “I become”. Meaning God already IS, he doesn’t need to morph, expand, reconstruct or anything. He already is and nothing is going to change. A universal constant. I don’t understand why they want to change so much about the meaning of things in the bible to make it fit their own needs… oh wait, THATS WHAT CULTS DO!!!!

  • I once got off the bus and was walking to my street in the rain, and on my street is a school that was just let out. There’s a clap of thunder and it starts raining really really hard, and one of the older kids without an umbrella was kidding around with his friend and screeches “the angels are crying!” And when his friend started to laugh, and the kid goes “how dare you laugh at the tears of God” Funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Gotta love fourth graders.

  • I’m a Christian but my belief is more chill I just feel like if you don’t want to believe in God that I won’t waltz up and start making you believe what I do. I really don’t care about how you feel the universe came to. I don’t give to craps, if someone asks me about my religion I will tell ya.but other than that I don’t talk a bunch about it. When I stumbled on to your website I realized how f*ing crazy (Sorry Alpha Force Zero ) they are ! I’m a more relaxed Christian I feel like if your gay than your gay it not your fault you were born gay you just were and I can force you into an unhappy life or I can leave you be. I choose to let them live their life.

  • I remember when I went to elementaryschool with a Jehovas Witness girl. She was very kind and nice and I embrased her religion and even went to a meeting and all, I just made it clear, that I wasn’t going to change religion, because I loved science. Her an her family was fine with that, but oh boy the elders… They had a whole meeting arranged to prove how science is God, about a few weeks after and they invited me to go. Apparently, JW’s didn’t believe in the universe, up until “recently”, like… Years ago recently…

  • I remember having to do small mock studies on Thursdsys with my mom or what few female friends I had in the kingdom hall. I don’t remember what they were called. But I thought they were talks… kinda. It’s bern so long since I’ve even been to a meeting. So much must have obviously changed :p Now that I’ve been to real church services, the memories I have seem so alien now

  • 3:45 ALSO THIS MEANS MY PUBLIC SCHOOL LITERALLY TAUGHT US LIES AN GARBAGE INFORMATION FOR 2 MONTHS AND I ALWAYS DOUBTED IT, I EVEN SAID TO MY TEACHER “But what if this isn’t real, how did anyone know this was true, I bet the believers read the exodus and just assumed OMG SOMEONE WROTE THIS SO IT MUST BE TRUE though that’s not how life works.”

  • The Israelites never crossed the Red Sea, the Torah says in Hebrew “yam suph” which means reedy sea. A marsh, they crossed marshlands. But between the time of the original author and the final author who compiled all the stories creating the Torah the story was inflated through word of mouth to crossing the Red Sea.

  • You are correct. Women may not “teach” on stage in JW’s Kingdom Halls. However–unless things have changed since the 1960/70s–women ARE expected to give “talks” on the stage. How is this apparent contradiction resolved? Two women are on stage and one “teaches” the other, thereby enlightening all, but keeping the REAL teaching option for males only.

  • > says there is no evidence of Moses existing > Forgets that the miraculous bush that god spoke to him through can still be seen today enclosed within the ancient walls of St. Catherine’s Monastery, located not far from Moses’ hometown and literally mentions the discovery of chariot wheels at the bottom of the Red Sea seconds later.

  • I wonder what would happen if someone actually heckled a kid giving a “talk” at a meeting. I would be interested in seeing it, even if it was just a gutsy, bored little kid, but it would be more interesting to me if it was a teenager who secretly questioned the leaders and hadn’t been found out yet, so he decided his (or her, really) big moment was while a child was giving a talk, not to hurt the child, but to show his ridiculous it is to have a child giving a sermon.

  • “God makes sure everything has what bit needs to grow” well what about all the places where plantlife can’t be grown due to pH levels, lack of water, lack of sunlight? What about all those people who die as children because they starved to death from lack of food? What about the global water shortages? Either god is slacking, or they don’t give things what they need to grow in the first place.

  • Saint Helen built a museum in Rome with numerous artifacts linking to Jesus including three pieces of the cross he was crucified on and a piece of the nail which was driven into his hand. Also, there’s an imprint of Christ on a long piece of paper however for the life of me I can’t remember what it’s called. However this was basically a photograph for their time, and they basically pressed it up against Jesus and got his facial and body imprint, holes in hands face and everything.

  • My parents don’t let me call myself an atheist, just because of my mom and dad’s religious families. I rather just call myself an atheist. Yeah I went to church, got baptised, and had a holy communion. That’s it though, we stopped going to church so why should I believe in something I never really followed in the first place. Also I find it hypocritical that my grandmother bothers her son (my dad) about not going to church. I’m bisexual so that’s another problem too xD

  • Yes there are very different ” talks ” allowed … women were allowed to do only “demonstrations ” which is some stupid situation one makes up then attaches biblical scriptures to support the dogma …there are 2-3 people in those and also the huge theatrical presentations – women are allowed but NEVER are allowed to hold spiritual titles such as Ministerial Servant or Elder or give a ” talk ” solo as women . The hate towards women is ridiculous and they use Old Testament as justification even tho they aren’t Jewish . Your daughter sounds super SMART ! ❤

  • Well Moses (and a number of other biblical charachters) has actually been identified in the egyptian records by egyptologist David Rohl. All he realised was that egyptian and biblical chronologies were off by 300 years. Ones he adjusted for this many things fell into place. However he is not looking to prove the bible since he is agnostic.

  • I agree there is no evidence for God creating anything on this planet or anywhere, but being a Christian the way that I comfort myself, and I say comfort myself because it’s totally a personal thing and couldn’t hold up to scrutiny, is that I believe in an all powerful God which means logic and reason as we know it doesn’t apply to him in the same ways.

  • Out of curiosity, what do you think about religious people in science? Not just Christian, but any religion? I’m not an expert, I just live in a very international sciency town. I’ve noticed that the theme is that most of them think their god or gods is/are pure logic. Or that pure logic is the way to enlightenment. So they are strong proponents of the scientific method over religious creation stories, they just think that their god/gods were behind it somehow. Even if all they did was set off the Big Bang and watch it go. I’ve always thought that was neat.

  • I’m a Christian, why am I here? Because I like his articles. But about that question. I know I can’t prove god exists, but all religious stuff aside the base of Christianity (for me and my church) is being nice to people, humble, selfless, whatever. And if my religion is making me a better person and I’m not forcing religion on people who don’t want it and other religions are perfectly ok too, then I think it’s perfectly ok, even if there is no god and I’m going this for no reason I’ll still be happy I lived a fulfilling life at the end of it

  • i and a lot of non-Christian religious/spiritual people (whatever you wanna call it) consider our “scriptures” to be more allegories and parables. y’know. like the stories Jesus told people. like Christians can still believe whatever they want, but taking the Bible as literal historical fact instead of, like, fables or examples of how to live is better than believing the earth is 6000 years old.

  • I’m a Christian, yet I believe in evolution and the big bang theory. The Bible was written hundreds of years ago, there are going to be mistranslations and misunderstandings. The “seven days” where got created the universe is actually proven to be seven time periods. Considering God is omnipresent, to him a millennia could seem just as long as a day, an hour, a minute, or even a second. Also, no-one said that God creating things isn’t an example of “survival of the fittest”, or that creation couldn’t take millions of years. Also there’s evidence that there was water damage in the red sea, as if two giant waves smacked into each other, like how it describes in the story of Moses. I’m not saying it’s one hundred percent accurate either, as quiet a lot of stories in the Bible are hyperbolic to get more people invested in the church, and so the church gets more money (thanks to ancient temples, and also medieval churches with thyth).

  • HAHA! That bear thingy also is something I mention when in discussion with believers! From my latest post in such a discussion: The Bible says that the earth has 4 corners with angels on them and is supported by pillars. Rain comes from behind the stars and all stars (that are thousands and sometimes even MILLIONS times bigger than the earth) will all fall down on earth on Judgement Day. Cain killed Abel, ran away and started a family. With whom? With other people who also lived around that time and have absolutely nothing to do with the original sin? Then this Middle-Eastern myth has very little to do with western society; it is THEIR god. The good God tells his people to massacre an enemy till the last man, woman, male child and baby, but the 32,000 little girls they could use any way they liked. This good God also says that when a girl gets raped, she must marry her rapist. And slaves cana be beaten as much as you want, as long as they don’t die of it in 3 days. He also loved child sacrifices; kids had to be hanged before he would fertilize a land, and of the 32,000 little girls that his people captured to rape, 16 were sacrificed to God. He also loves priests to be sacrificed. Oh, and he also sent bears to rip some naughty kids to shreds who had teased a bald man. And when your own kid is unruly; stone him to death! And I still don’t understand this good God turning the pharao’s heart to stone to prevent him from releasing the slaves and then murdering all innocent firstborn children in the entire country as a revenge for not letting the slaves go, except the children of parents who murdered an animal and smeared its blood on their door.

  • i used to go to a christian school from kindergarten through 4th grade and they were one of those christian schools that hated gays and all that well one day in kindergarten we were talking about all that shit about how god created everything in six days and the world is only 4000-6000 years old a week or so before this my dad taught me about the big bang theory and how sub-atomic particles collided to for the universe as we know it well i wanted to tell my teacher about that stuff and at the time my understanding was that the big bang did happen but was caused by god well my kindergarten teacher (her name was Mrs. Martin) didn’t even let me finish. she constantly interrupted me and kept saying that what i was saying was wrong well i remembered that the same teacher also told me extraterrestrial life does not exist, PERIOD! which i thought was total bullshit, scientists say that it would be almost impossible for other life not of this world to not exist, and the reasoning behind this is there are so many other planets that are in the habitable range, and besides even if god DID create the universe, big bang or not, why would he make all these other planets if he wasn’t going to use them for something.

  • our creator do not have to answer to a puny man as we are, just as u do not have to answer to a ant or a tick, who ever he is and what ever he is, it reminded to be seen. A7ll religions are crooked and corrupted history has shown. The bible have been twisted, change, missed use, it hard to believe is a Almighty after u have been a JW, for so long, very hard to believe. after u have been deceived and mislead. i do respect ur point of view as to discarding Almighty from your life, if he is real why has he permitted this evil Satanic cult make a fool out of all of us. as u have said in ur article . He can change all this suffering and hurtful practise going on instantly .. I have been hearing most of ur articles and u bring many good points, i am impressed ! As to myself i look at everything around me microscopic, heavens and myself and i can appreciate everything is finetune and program precisely to work for life and our benefit. Sorry amigo i am sticking with Jesus until we have something more solid without any flip-flop or new light. i rather believe in faith as Jesus said to do then be a piece of meat with two eyes, a dog or be compare to a missing link as the monkey. thank u.

  • “He makes sure everything has what it needs to grow” Oh really? Then why do some animals abandon their offspring? Not even just humans, this happens ALOT in the natural world. Not only that, but lots of plants can and do take root in less than ideal soil and just inevitably die because they don’t have the nutrients they need to survive. Nit picking, I know, but it bothers me.

  • Okay but question for religious people (that believe a god created everything) how did said god create everything? It really doesn’t make sense, from the versions of the bible I’ve read (a christian bible) it doesn’t provide an explanation except that said god just said something like “let there be light”. I mean I don’t think that’s how light is created, or anything for that matter

  • okay, so shen you were talking about memes, and the way you pronounced it sounded like maymay. well i am a little obsessed with legend of zelda a link between worlds and in that game there are 100 miamais you have to collect to get improved items. for a second, i thought you were talking about miamais in the red sea. which id be okay with they are cute little pink things in blue shells! also albw is a great game and i highly recommend it.

  • Ok, you are FREE to believe whatever you’d like. IMHO, God DID make everything, but He has a different sense of time. Seven days to Him, may be billions to us. Yes, He made whales. At 1st whales did WALK. (Walking with Monsters is a GREAT non-God based science based doc if AF0 is into that stuff) But along the way, He changed things. Not sure if what I think even has a name, but like I said, in this country at least, we are free to differ.

  • Well I’m a cristian you have some points but I still believe that god created everything on this earth like think about it when we get a cut who heals it, it just can’t be anyone if there we no god you would still have that cut till the day you die and so there has to be a god in heaven he is the one who heals that cut argue with me all u want but I stick by what I was raised to worship

  • I can tell you have a great relationship with your daughter. But good luck talking to her when she finds out God, or the Christian religions if you prefer, can forgive people of their sins 70 x 7 times/forever, that living in sin is mainly a crappy old idea (it has roots in the Bible, but what the Bible says is more an allusion/metaphor for a sinning heart/fighting with God, which for all intents in the modern world has nothing to do with being gay or not marrying someone or something), and that people love Christianity because it gives them hope and healing!
