President Donald Trump is falsely accusing the Obama administration of implementing a policy that separated migrant families at the border. Under Obama, children were separated from their parents only when authorities had concerns for their well-being or could not confirm that the adult was their legal parent. A Facebook post falsely claims that a significantly higher number of children were separated from their parents during the Obama administration than under the Bush administration. Immigration advocates and former Obama administration officials argue that this is not true. The Obama administration detained families together, and family separations rarely happened under the Obama administration. Immigration advocates and former Obama administration officials also point out that the Border Patrol’s Central Processing Center in McAllen, Texas, and its chain-link detention pens were not used to separate families.
Michelle Obama has criticized President Donald Trump for ripping migrant children from their parents and throwing them away. Trump has stated that he is not considering reimplementing his administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy. The DHS reported that 2,342 children were separated from their parents between May 5 and June 9, but DHS could not provide statistics on how many children may have been separated.

am I to understand you are saying they are NOT entering through the port of entry? Which is it? I don’t feel that you clarified this very well… are they entering through the port of entry legally AND then detained? OR are they NOT entering through the Port of Entry then being detained?? This is very important but you seemed to gloss over it. I’m a bit worried about your fact check claim.. No offense, but you sound very biased.
In 2008, Congress passed the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA), which the Senate passed by unanimous consent (even then the Senate where cowards). Though the law’s main intent deals with human trafficking, it does contain a section that deals with children arriving in the U.S. illegally children from Mexico are returned immediately, as they would be if they were an adult apprehended illegally entering the U.S. However, children from a non-contiguous nation, such as those in Central America, have a different process. The children must be turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services which is in charge of their care, finds them safe housing, and apprises them of their legal rights as their immigration cases are decided.
I found this website when looking for facts about immigration control I’m looking for facts about, did a president ever ask for immigration laws to be changed, and was a president ever refused votes in changing immigration laws, can a president change or make a law himself, did A president ever refuse asylum, and is it against any law to refuse asylum. The only fact I did find in this article and most of the news was that hopes wishes desires beliefs opinions fears and prejudice of the speaker should not be used in news reporting or fact checking.
