Early childhood educators must protect children from abuse and report any suspicions of a child being harmed. Following the Code will result in stronger communities, families, and better care and education for children.

What is an objective statement in early childhood education?

This text discusses the concept of subjective statements in children’s learning experiences. It suggests that writing what a child loves instead of what they see and hear can make a statement more subjective. For example, a child might love hugging their dolls, while another might stay in a block corner building with little blocks. Similarly, a child might color out lines after a teacher’s instruction.

Similarly, a child might scream because they want to play, but writing “because she wanted” instead of exactly what they see and hear can make a subjective statement. Lastly, a child might play too many video games at home, but writing “too many” instead of exactly what they see and hear can make a subjective statement.
