A Brief Film About Child Safety?

Safety is a live action short film directed by Fabrice Joubert and produced by Easter Moon Films and Composite Films, based on the 2015 short story by Lydia Fitzpatrick. The film depicts an elementary school shooting from the perspective of kids, highlighting the importance of doing the right thing. The film highlights the lives of a young boy, his classmates, and their gym teacher who are shattered by the presence of a shooter in their small-town elementary school.

The film also features child safety videos, such as Kidnapped (a child safety film) in 4K and Zoey (a child safety film). The film also highlights the importance of speed in children’s lives, with Maddie Moate playing a key role in the animation.

Safety is a powerful tool for children to learn about good touch and bad touch, as seen in the short film “No Touch” directed by Garrison Griffith. The film encourages children to be aware of their body’s rights and not to let anyone make them uncomfortably. Overall, Safety is a powerful tool for educating children about the importance of good touch and bad touch in their lives.

  • I love the detail at 0:23 where you see that the closet looks busted and later in the short, the kid hides in the closet when he discovers that his father is home and his father goes in his room and knows to check inside the closet. It indicates that this is not the first time for the kid and it happens a lot.

  • If you guys are wondering the meaning of this animation Basically the son is being abused by his dad and one day his dad comes home and his about to be the son Now the dad busts into the room and finds the son people think the flash of white is him going to heaven Well that’s wrong he actually is going into his “Safe Place,” and he kind of swaps his mind and thinks Everything is fine so he doesn’t feel the pain and the flash of white shows him going into “Safe Place.”

  • my dad and uncle were abused by their father when they were kids too. He scared my dad so much, that one day when the power went out and he woke up late for school, he jumped out of the window of his bedroom and ran all the way so his dad wouldn’t find out and beat him. This reminded me of the way they used to hide 😔

  • There is no form of physical abuse that will teach a child anything other than to fear and mistrust you. I sometimes wish my parents had just hit me though, instead of destroying my self-esteem and leaving me a shell of my former self with their screaming, micro-management and dismissal. Why can’t we just treat children like autonomous human beings, allow them to make mistakes, and treat them the way we’d like to be treated?

  • plot twist: after his dad opened the door, the nearby police station got an alarm and they rushed over. he took a minute to get over to the closet door and once he opened it, the police were standing behind him and grabbed the dads arms and handcuffed him. they sent the boy to a happy foster home for the rest of his life and he never had to see his dad again.

  • This is such as a sad yet symbolic short film. In the beginning, the pirate symbolizes his father and the superhero symbolizes the one who will one day save him. When his father steps on and breaks the superhero, it symbolizes that no one is there to protect the child. Why would the father abuse his son? He did absolutely nothing wrong. It’s horrifying knowing that there are parents out there who will hurt their child for no reason other than to let off steam or because they’re sadists. Nothing justifies abusing a child like that. NOTHING. If anyone honestly thinks it’s okay to hurt a child the way this father did to his son, then they need to visit a therapist.

  • I have a theory that could be less darker then the ending that must people believe My theory is that the little boy dind’t die from the beating, the kid survived because the dad thought he was dead and left(the kid just played dead or something)and the safe place could be another house from a nicer family who adopted him,and the boy lived there in his entire life, and now adult he would get revenge from his dad This story just came in my head right about now,and sorry if i had written something wrong because i am from another country

  • This happen to me my dad and my uncle both live with each other and they whack me with a belt everyday and I can’t escape because they lock the doors and if dad goes out my uncle will stay but if uncle goes out my dad will stay I get child abuse everyday still 😢. I get swack by the belt more than my sister because I take the hit for her because I wanna protect her more than me. And right now I’m outside hiding because I’m scared

  • I truly love this animation, it shows that when it comes to things like this. Not every story has a good ending. This not having a good ending is a way of showing that not everything ends well. You hear on the news about stories about abuse and the abuser getting caught. But there are more out there where some children will never get the help they need. And may already be dead.

  • this resembles my dad so much, my dad was drunk and going crazy on my mom so i grabbed a hard wooden chair and bashed him in the head with it and he started bleeding from his head, I honestly wanted to do more but my mom stopped me and my brothers came in and it was a total mess, moral of the story try not to drink when you have kids, it can really give you a hard time and some ptsd and might even cause you to be anti social and insecure. I am currently still living with this drunk beat dad and will see if it continues, otherwise if it does, something bad might happen and i might end up in jail. I am being 100% honest

  • So basically, in this movie, the kid’s mom is dead so the dad got depressed and began to drink and abuse his son. He is playing with toys alone when his dad comes back drunk and barges in his room to beat him for absolutely no reason. I feel so sorry for kids with alcoholic parents, abusive or not abusive. Things I noticed in this short film (SPOILERS BELOW): – At the very beginning, the kid plays with the toys of a child getting attacked by a pirate, but a hero comes in and throws the pirate across the room. This is to symbolise the dad being the kid’s ‘hero’. – Cracks and dents in the door and closet show that this is not the first time this has happened. – The music slowly gets darker and darker as the film plays; the music’s darkest turn was when they showed the dad drinking. It went from sweet to curiosity, to danger, to tension and then to silence. Amazing. – The dad stepping on the superhero toy as he stomps toward the closet really shows how the kid’s perspective on the dad changed, no longer there to help him but instead to hurt him. Anyway, this film is super sad. Of course, this film itself is not real and just an animation, but what happens in it (and what it is based on) is very real and it happens in tens (if not, hundreds) of millions of households across the globe. Alcoholic and abusive parents – especially alcoholic parents – REALLY need to be talked about more in today’s society. More awareness really needs to be raised about both of these topics because as of now I know if I was that boy I would NOT know where to get help at all.

  • I see a lot of people saying that the white light is him dying and going to heaven but I don’t see that as the case. It’s a worse more heartbreaking thing at least to me. He’s mentally distancing himself from the situation he’s in and going to his “safe space” as a coping mechanism. He’s not being freed. He’s just trying to get through a horrible situation

  • This short film inspires and reminds of myself of the same event. On Janurary 22nd 2020 my mom and dad broke up each other i said goodbye to him but as after that i started to hate him when i see him again i was scared that i dont wanna see him but maybe one day i will fight him and call the police for what he has done to me and my mother!!!

  • God: i take the child, You take the father satan. Satan: Thanks 😀 takes the soul of the dad and holds him by the back of the shirt My slaves! We have a new member! This time he is gonna be our meal! God: takes the soul of the child and carries him on his back My wonderful angels and my son jesus.. this boy had a abusive life with his father. May you heal him Jesus: As you may father.. i will kindly heal him and his soul.. and his sins shall be erased..

  • Parents are meant to be the teachers to their children. Children are meant to be the students to their parents. Some parents only teach pain suffering and hatred. While other parents teach love care and kindness. Parents who teach pain suffering and hatred are what we call abusive parents. But on the other hand parents who teach love care and kindness are what we call Non-Abusive parents. About the article: In this article I believe the mother of the child died due to an accident then later on in life the father lost his job, and gained depression due to his wife dying. After some time the father developed a drinking problem where he would spend all of his money on strong alcohol. A few years later he began to abuse his son to let out all of his stress. (This is what I believed that happened)
