Either way the kids and parents are stressed out.
I’m glad PG County is keeping kids home. They don’t have a structure in place for back to school for older kids and they never did. They are sending vaccinated and unvaccinated kids to school, they have no barriers put up on desks, they can’t social distance in hallways and they are only 3 ft apart not 6ft. they don’t share protocols with the parents and the protocols are always changing and when we find out about them its usually when a kid in their class has it. They don’t test the kids so they are relying on parents to tell them if their child tests positive. They don’t have a virtual learning set up for the kids that do get sent home so after 10 days the kids have to go back and catch up on 10 days worth of work in 7 classes while trying to learn the current lessons. There are stories of kids who were sent home because of a kid in their class having it, missed 10 days and had to be sent home again after a week because of someone else testing positive. That’s not helping the kids or the parents. My son had it because of 2 kids that had it in his class and he had to miss Christmas and Quarantine luckily he was asymptomatic and luckily we were able to get him tested. but the school wasn’t helpful they couldn’t give us information on when the other kids tested positive or anything. So we were flying blindly. And if you want to get your kid tested all places are always booked for testing or have long lines. And if you have elderly people or imuno compromised people in your home they are at risk.
