  • For the life of me, I cannot figure out why they would make a machine capable of taking 12×12 papers, and dies….. AND THEN NOT MAKE THE ADAPTER PLATES 12X12. That’s what prevents me from buying this machine!! So many times I went to order it….. but that one fact prevents me everytime!!!! I would feel like a sucker!!!! Then they will charge me 100.00 or so to buy the 12×12 ones when they finally make them available. Just seems like dirty business to me. Bummer… cuz the machine seems great!!!!!! Guess I will stick with my Spellbinders! Those plates are at least 8 1/2″ wide!!!!!! Just find it surprising that no one else feels the same about the plates that come with this new machine.

  • I just wonder why you use that tool to pick out the cutted pieces, because the orange container is made for that. Just put the Die into the container, blades upside, and it will come up a bit and it is very easy to pick the paper off. I will buy that machine when I have the money, I am loving this great machine since I saw it first time on youtube. It ist sooo great! Selling my cuttlebug on ebay at the moment because I won’t need it any more when I got my Fiskars Fuse

  • wonderfull article i like some of the dies on the fuse system but i did not want to buy a whole new machine since i have i have so many machine already lol i might buy it when it comes down in price but i love it that i can use it in my big kick or my cuttlebug since the late does not get used much now lol i already have 5 different cutting machines lol and tons of dies so ty again and i a sub to your website because of this review take care & happy crafting Mary katherine from Canada

  • Thank you so much for this article, it was very helpful to me. After looking at several different embossing/cutting machines, I decided that the Fiskars was the better buy and the fact that Joann’s had it on sale for $69.00 didn’t hurt! This is my first machine of this type and I am so excited….now I just gotta get back to Joann’s and get some more dies and embossing plates while they are all 60% off.

  • here we are in 2018 and mine is sitting under my craft table not used for years…luckily I got it really cheap…and its there if I need it, it was always super heavy and took up so much space…Its a good machine,i dont think they made bigger plates becaus it didnt catch on!!! they could probably come out with a new model and do better but now there are so many die machines on the market and cricuts that its probably not worth it!!! I have all the plates too and a couple years ago Joanns sold theirs all out and I got a bunch really cheap!!!

  • Thanks I have one and by mistake and believe me it was my dumb mistake I cut through my large rubber plate Duh! Did tape it back together and my husband has this tape stuff we use for pipes that go underground that I am going to try and fix it with. I will let you know what happens. Wish me luck!!!!!

  • I think it is bad that the cutting plates that comes with it doesn’t fit the machine. I am so happy for my die cutting machine that have buttons so I can run any kinds/thickness of dies and embossing plates through, without getting extra plates. Not sure what the brand is called just says “Tools” on the box.

  • smscrapper has a DIY on her article page that show how and what you need to use for the big die cut shape. The article is cuttlebug tutorial 2 of 2 it’s a part of the first article for BabyNicosMomma. She show how and what use with the big die cut. Hope this help. I know you and your scriber don’t use the cuttlebug. She show you that there are plate that fit all size.

  • Here in the Midwest, we’re always a few years behind everybody else and tonight at Joann’s was the first time I have seen these type of dies and they were on clearance — the dies were $5.00 and the expansion pack was $3.00. It’s good to know that I can use them in my Cuddlebug. I only bought one set tonight — the frames, but like you, I wondered why they were so BIG at medium size.

  • Thank for showing this article. I have a cricut and I’m thinking about sell it cause it don’t do every thing I want to do. The only thing I like about the cricut is that you can pick your size for cutting out shape. Thing other I like about it is that you can draw your shape and cut out your drawing. But other then that I how you can use almost any materials and use and die cut shape from any die cut machine that not a cricut.

  • I have been on the fence about buying another die cutting machine since I already have a Cuttlebug, Big Shot and Grand Calibur, however after perusal your very good article I have decided to got for it, especially since it is on sale now. I especially like that it can handle the 12 inch paper and that I can still use all my many other dies too.

  • Thank you so much for showing this article from a real persons perspective. I am a new crafter/ scrap booker…less than a year. I am trying to figure out what I should buy. Should I get a cricut..a sizzex, a big shot, vagabond or what ever those others are called. I see myself graduating to different methods so should I go straight to a cricut..just not sure what to do? Any suggestions? Price isn’t really much of a factor. TFS- Kris
