What does 40 days of Kriya do?
The 40-day Sadhana in Kundalini yoga is believed to break negative habits and promote expansion through daily spiritual practice. However, the author, who has committed to other 40-day Sadhanas, never completed them due to their obsessive mind and tendency to think more is more. They had previously created daily tasks that took hours to complete, but they never completed them. This led to the author’s belief that their approach to completing a 40-day Sadhana was not the right one for them.
Instead, they allowed themselves to relax and enjoy the journey of exploration. The author shares four guidelines to help them complete the 40-day Sadhana, allowing them to focus on their own growth and development.
What is the difference between yoga and mindfulness meditation?
Yoga and meditation are effective tools for managing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality, increasing flexibility and strength, enhancing focus and concentration, and fostering greater self-awareness. Yoga involves physical postures, controlled breathing, and focused attention, which calm the nervous system and reduce stress hormones. Meditation techniques like mindfulness train the mind to be present in the moment and let go of worries, promoting peace and relaxation.
Practicing yoga and meditation can also improve sleep quality by relaxing the body and quieting the mind. Yoga postures target various muscle groups, improving flexibility and range of motion. Meditation builds mental strength and toughness as practice continues over time.
Both yoga and meditation train the mind to focus and concentrate, with mindfulness and attention to the present moment enhancing focus on tasks and activities. Meditation encourages introspection and self-reflection, leading to a deeper understanding of oneself, emotions, and behaviors, ultimately leading to personal growth and self-improvement.
Meditation is an integral part of yoga, providing the foundation for growth and vitality. The order of your yoga and meditation practice depends on your personal goals and what feels best for your body and mind.
How long does it take for Isha Kriya to work?
The Isha Kriya meditation is a powerful practice rooted in the wisdom of the yogic sciences, offered by Sadhguru. It can be practiced twice a day for 48 days or once a day for 90 days, depending on the individual’s ability. If not possible, it can be practiced as often as possible and more than twice a day if desired. The purpose of Isha Kriya is to help individuals connect with their existence source and create life according to their own wishes and vision. Daily practice of Isha Kriya brings health, dynamism, peace, and wellbeing, making it a powerful tool to cope with the hectic pace of modern life.
Does yoga include mindfulness?
Yoga and mindfulness are interconnected due to their shared goal of fostering a deeper connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Both practices aim to quiet the mind, cultivate a deeper understanding of the self, and teach us to tune into our breath, pay attention to bodily sensations, and accept reality as it is. Mindfulness is cultivated through yoga practice, and the yoga studio is an ideal setting for this practice, as it is replete with conditions beyond our control. Mindful yoga trains us to reframe these conditions and feel less reactive towards them, allowing us to experience a more peaceful and centered state of being.
Which Kriya stimulates the brain?
Dr. Lavretsky suggests that practicing Kirtan Kriya meditation for 12 minutes a day can provide self-regulation, significant biological changes in stress response, and cellular aging that can rejuvenate the body and brain. For an hour a week, it is recommended to engage in different activities, such as yoga and memory training. Mind-body practices, including tai chi, meditation, yoga, and qi gong, have been shown to reduce drug use, improve athletic and school performance, sleep, perceived stress, and relationship quality.
Breathing-based interventions, like yoga, can reduce vascular risk factors by lowering blood pressure and heart rate. Breathing is universally beneficial and can induce lasting physiological changes and reduce stress. It is not controversial, religious, or spiritual, and requires slow and conscious breathing to invoke lasting physiological changes.
Is Isha Kriya a mindfulness meditation?
Isha Kriya meditation is a guided, mantra-based practice that can help improve mental health and well-being in as little as 12 minutes a day. It is one of the most widely practiced forms of mindfulness among adults in the United States, with the percentage of adults practicing meditation increasing from 4 in 2012 to over 14 in 2017. The CDC reports that the percentage of adults practicing meditation increased from 4 in 2012 to over 14 in 2017.
What is the secret of Kriya Yoga?
Kriya Yoga, a practice in India, involves neutralizing the inhaling and outgoing breaths to release the life force from the heart. It is mentioned twice by ancient yogi Patanjali in his famous Yoga Sutras. The ancient yogis discovered that cosmic consciousness is closely linked with breath mastery, which is India’s unique contribution to the world’s knowledge. The life force, typically absorbed in maintaining the heart-pump, must be freed for higher activities by calming and stilling the ceaseless demands of the breath.
The Kriya Yogi mentally directs their life energy to revolve around the six spinal centers, which correspond to the twelve astral signs of the zodiac, the symbolic Cosmic Man. A half-minute of Kriya energy revolution affects subtle progress in human evolution, equivalent to one year of natural spiritual unfoldment. The scriptures suggest that man requires a million years of normal, diseaseless evolution to perfect his human brain enough to express cosmic consciousness.
Is meditation and Kriya Yoga the same?
Kriya Yoga is a sacred meditation technique that leads to the realization of God and liberation of the soul from all forms of bondage. It was discovered by illumined sages of India in the long forgotten past, with Lord Krishna extolling it in the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali speaking of it in his Yoga Sutras. Paramahansa Yogananda claims that this ancient meditation method was known to Jesus Christ, St. John, St. Paul, and others.
Kriya Yoga was lost for centuries but was reintroduced in modern times by Mahavatar Babaji, whose disciple Lahiri Mahasaya was the first to teach it openly. Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri was later asked to train Paramahansa Yogananda and send him to the West to spread this soul-revealing technique.
What does Kriya Yoga aim to speed up?
Kriya is a advanced Raja Yoga technique that revitalizes subtle currents of life energy (prana) in the spine and brain, which ancient seers of India considered the tree of life. By revolving the life current continuously up and down the spine, yogis discovered that this technique can greatly accelerate spiritual evolution and awareness. The correct practice of Kriya Yoga allows the normal activities of the heart, lungs, and nervous system to slow down naturally, producing deep inner stillness and freeing attention from the usual turbulence of thoughts, emotions, and sensory perceptions.
This inner stillness leads to a deepening interior peace and attunement with one’s soul and with God. Kriya Yoga is given to students of the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons who apply after a preliminary period of study and practice of the first three techniques taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.
Kriya Yoga is considered the highest method of God contact, and the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons provide sincere seekers with personal and comprehensive guidance on the scientific techniques of meditation and how to live a deeply spiritual and meaningful life. These lessons are a core aspect of Paramahansa Yogananda’s mission to bring India’s perennial wisdom to the world.
How powerful is Kriya Yoga?
Kriya yoga is a powerful spiritual path that demands discipline and exactness from individuals. Modern educated individuals may find kriya yoga inhuman due to the demands it requires. Comfort, whether physical or emotional, is a significant obstacle for the path of kriya yoga. People seeking comfort from childhood are unsuitable for the path of kriya yoga.
Kriya yoga cannot be done with people who are loose and talk about freedom. The essence of kriya yoga cannot be explained, and asking logical questions for everything can lead to the loss of the essence of the practice.
To teach kriyas as a live process, discipline, dedication, and trust are necessary. The initial stages of kriyas can be challenging, as individuals may question whether they are getting enlightened or going mad. To sustain through these periods, one must have enough trust to sustain through the challenges.
In conclusion, kriya yoga is a powerful and demanding spiritual path that requires discipline, dedication, and trust. It is not suitable for modern educated individuals who seek comfort and freedom. To truly experience the essence of kriya yoga, one must have the courage to open up their energies and trust others, even during challenging times.
📹 Paramhansa Yogananda: You Don’t Sleep Correctly
Watch this inspiring original video footage of the great yoga master Paramhansa Yogananda, recorded in London during his visit …
I found kryia yoga after finding Sadhguru (isha foundation) this type of yoga has propounding changed life! If you have the diligence and discipline to practice everyday without fail, you will traverse through life so effortlessly. It’s such a beautiful way to move closure to the Devine. I wish every human being finds their Sadhana, their union 🙏🏻
At the end what Ranveer talks about….I think it’s a dangerous game to think that meditation can change your material world and give you everything you want in life, because (despite that being true on some level) ultimately what that is doing is re-enforcing or creating the ego’s desires and identities and also placing expectation and meaning on meditation…in my experience meditation is more fruitful when not placing any expectation on it except for dissolving into the true Self.
I did Kriya Yoga with the Yogananda group for 6 years, after I did Transcendental Meditation for several years. TM was easy. Kriya was not easy for me. For one thing I did not like the breathing or the imagination involved, but most of all I found all the devotional stuff sickening and it felt unreal to me. I hate prayer. I am more of an intellectual person and I question everything. I had read Autobiography of a Yogi 3 times, the first when I was 17, then twice in my forties. I thought Yogananda was a bit too liberal with his miracles and he just brought Christ in to the teachings to appeal to western students. So far as I know, the highest teaching was to see the inner light and hear the inner sound. Later on, about 10 years later, I started meditating on another path just teaching inner light and sound meditation, and from that I got enlightened and realised myself as the Self, Atman, which has never left me for over 10 years, and to That I am devoted without any effort at all. But I mean no disrespect to others involved in Kriya Yoga. I am just telling you my perspective. In the end we all are Atma and far greater than we can imagine, and no one who is not yet enlightened can ever imagine what it is like, as it is beyond mind and thought and imagination. And in that you will find god, you will find Divinity revealing itself to itself by itself, as the Gita says.
I heard about this book couple of years back through mindvalley ( vishen Lakhani) suggested to read this book of Autobiography of yogi and somehow I did not feel connected or desired to read that and it came again through Ranveer and this time I already started reading it. Hoping to find that little shift of knowing purpose of my life on this universe.
The Kriya Yoga of Paramahansa Yogananda is what Mahavatar Babaji gave to Lahiri Mahasaya as his mission to spread. This is a particular lineage that carries the original, authentic Kriya Yoga. Many take the name of Kriya Yoga because Yogananda made it famous. Others may be very helpful, tradional practice, but what Mahavatar Babaji gave to Lahiri Mahasaya is not in books, given only in Initiation, and through the lineage from Lahiri Mahasaya and Paramahansa Yogananda.
Material and spiritual are two different path . You want focus and peace practice meditation with that intention. Truly spiritual you want then you will not crave for material success once on that line you don’t need any initiation cosmic power will guide you in the form of guru. Most of guru which we find today have no idea of what they are doing only speeches they give true guru stays away from noise only few liberated souls get opertunity to meet them.
Kriya just means Kriyā (Sanskrit क्रिया, “action, deed, effort”) How many kriyas are there in pranayama? The 6 Yoga Kriyas are preliminary purification techniques that are excellent immunity boosters. There are six kriyas & their purpose is to remove impurities, flush out toxins & prepare the body for the flow of vital energy or ‘Prana’. Kriya refers to a set of practices that is it.. Pranayama can do the same. Let’s get that clear. The word has been separated out…
About 7 years ago, a small paper ad 1 inch by 3 inches caught my eyes in the most not so seen page 5 or 6 and usually I don’t read paper at all for my own reasons, but destiny guru got this info to me that Friday day such n such date a program on Kriya Yoga is organized for 2 days at a place in Bangalore, I saw this msg on Tuesday called up and attended this amazing session and my Divine journey started… Today I feel so blessed and heal many people by this divine connection which flows through all yogis 🙏 life is bliss
Socrates once said “Beware the barrenness of a busy life”. . .. Itna bhi busy matt bano ke jeenay ka matlab bhi kho jaye. . . Itna bhi khayalon mein kho matt jao, ke Khuda ko shukriya Karne ka bhi waqt na mile . . Itna bhi sharir aur duniya ka chinta aur parishaniyon mein matt doobo, ke ishwar ka bhi na yaad aayen Just sharing ji. . . 🍃🍂🍃
Brother…you are making good things.! Its really nice.. But you said that preliminary exercises are for warming the body… No.definitely not.. Yogoda Energization Exercises are for harmonising the body by distributing prana shakti to all the parts of the body. Which is of course preparing yourself for yogic practices. But if any one thinks that miracle will happen after getting initiated into Kriya they are definitely in illusion. Kriya yoga is a long desciplined path which has many Ups and downs. It needs perseverance, hard work, and lot of patience.. I was initiated into Kriya yoga in 1987.since then I have been practising it.. I have taken Kriya from YSS.. and later from SriM. Practised different types of Kriya. It’s really a great path… but definitely not an easy path. If you are not prepared to balance the energy it generates in chakras You are just opening the pondora box…. Devotion and surrender and discipline and patience are required to reach the goal. It takes many years of disciplined practice to attain the goal.🙏 Jai Guru 🙏
As a Christian i end up in to have the dot connected in previous month where i call the most silent day i have ever had, where i had my new eyes opened of who I Am, or what God is, having reach this moment i deeply know that there is no turning back, the old identity was shattered into pieces. Prior to this i was lead into Kriya Yoga, which i never imagined i could personally want to start practice ever, not even have a slight interest on doing any type of Yoga before but then i stumbled upon Kriya for some reason, i felt i attracted to its simplicity and i think i could mold the practice in my current daily life. So i began to practice it for at least several weeks already, 15th days today to be exact, and to be honest i just do the practice sincerely since i know i have no access to any Guru that would initiate me on this specific Kriya Yoga, i just know that if i have a pure heart on this practice, i even believe that Sri Guru Mahavatr Babaji would personally came to me in any form and this is somewhere anytime it would happen which im not worried at all, i just had this feeling of being humble for being alone in this place, so far away from India, and living in this Christian community in Islamic country, it does not pressure me at all in fact it makes me want to commit and diligently do this practice. So during this weeks i found during my sleep or laying down resting on the bed or at chair, i can easily slip out from the physical body, it become so natural that i felt not too comfortable of leaving the body at all time, around 10-12 years ago i used to train hard on breathing meditation and mind control to get some experience of Out of body or Astral projection but it seems to become very natural now, so i know it has to be because my energy body has almost fully cleared on its each energy centre, so in this process this natural process of detachment from the body could occur naturally as the cause of the energy body being stabilized or gain its original form, so this is just the beginning, i know everyone would go through this eye opening experience depends on their circumstances, but honestly when doing practice of Kriya Yoga, i never had any slightest of hidden motive or seeking for like superior experience or super powers or anything like that, i just want to do this because first i want my energy body is on its purest and stable form, especially all this centre being active and cleared, and want to join the unity or oneness with the creator blissfully or whatever you call it as my end goal.
These guys are lying to you I know because I am able to still my thoughts – people want to say it’s impossible for two reasons. One is because they don’t believe it or can’t do it, themselves..(ego) the other is because there is a great push to dissuade people from the truth and experience of finding silence within
What he doesn’t know is the bliss one reaches post continuous practice.. Advaita Vedanta principles blossoms out and lays spread all before you.. Aham Brahmasmi feeling seeds in.. The entire universe is one and we are the part of the whole is realized.. The world is a stage and we all are just puppets is experienced… We get filled with awe and gratitude and never ending joy.. It’s Param Ananda post that!
My technique is very basic Pranaayaam like Naadi Shudhi, anulom vilom followed by focusing on God’s feet in the centre of your eyes. I meditate on Sai Baba’s feet. Transcendental meditation during the day is again easy if you focus on your Sadguru and then he shows the light and real path. Om Sai Ram
Kriya yoga is imparted only to initiates for a very good reason. Once initiated, you are under the protection of the entire Lineage starting with Mahaavtar Babaji and Lahiri Mahasay who are the teachers of Swami Yukteshwar, Paramhanmsa Yogananda, etc. The technique involves elements of yoga that can be extremely dangerous for those who are not placed under this protection. Keeping the Gurus constantly in mind is absolutely essential.
Sir, Can any one from your side explain instead of doing Bhakati we all Jeva do revolution against God why he is doing all this to us. We Jeva we stand together and fight against that supreme power we start giving various ways to come out of it which is very tedious. From Vivekanand, Avatar Baba, Vedas we keep on explaining how to get out of chakraviuva planned by God for all of Jevas. Why can we directly act God stop doing all this.
By calling spiritual enlightenment as a “long term journey” you are pushing it further away from you. Consciousness is Now. It is as simple as it is. May be that is why you are missing it. If you get this one thing right you will get all your answers, get rid of ego, life will be full of love and bliss. This is enlightenment. Just be here NOW !!
Kriya yoga is the highest form of pranayama ; should be done under the guidance of a spiritual master following does and don’ts with patience and perseverance ; as you are meddling with the core of your very being and should anything go wrong no one can help you except your own Realised spiritual Master ; if not one will suffer all through one’s life even committing suicide ! So be careful !!
What ever way u do…….u should be happy joyful by ur own …..i found in Sadhguru inner engineering….just by doing sadhna regularly…..it gave so much joy happiness clarity that money they charge ….for teaching us very insignificant….in real senses……..i changed from within …just by practice…..i become balanced
Kriya yoga – the scientific process of soul- culture and the essence of all religions by Paramhamsa Hariharananda . One can only find the truth or falseness or something by experimenting for themselves. Don’t depend on anyone, dependence causes fear. Go out and try, if one is looking for the truth – there is nothing to be afraid of. Existence takes care of existence

I BEG YOU. Stop looking within yourself. God is not served by human hands! Rather HE gives everyone life and breath and everything. Come to ME all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest. Take MY yoke upon you and learn from ME. For I AM gentle and humble in heart. And you will find rest for your soul💛💛💛 Take up your cross and follow Jesus. The only thing you should ever meditate on is the word or God. Otherwise we will think we are wise, but only be fools. This is all found in Acts 17. Matthew 11. Romans 1. And Matthew 16. In the Holy Bible💛
Dear Sir With due respect. ABY is a spiritual marketing book. The miracles highlighted in the book violate the natural laws of physics. If you are really interested in learning Kriya Yoga, find out some disciple of Sri Ashok Kumar Chattopadyay. Also read the book by Enio Nimis, which is freely available online before proceeding. I am talking out of own experience.🙏
If Kriya Yoga from YSS is so beneficial, why not give it away to people for the larger good of the human race. What’s so confidential? The only reason you don’t teach it to the world is because it’s a money spinner. When Lord Krishna taught this to Arjuna, he didn’t ask for money! All these Yoga sutras have been given to us by the great Patanjali Maharishi in the Patanjali Sutra. The rest of the so called gurus learn these techniques and charge a hefty price to teach others! Absolutely ridiculous.
What is this thing about being ‘ a member’ ???? ParamHansa Yogananda has been so misused in America when the ‘Christ Consciousness’ have taken it over. Now I am very surprised to hear this Bharatiya say there have to be a membership. Since when does Vedic Spirituality have a ‘membership’? Ranveer, I am surprised you did not pick that up. Please help dispel misinformation.
Never ever get trapped in this word called dhyan/meditation. All we hear these days is meditation, this or that types. This meditation is the biggest scam of this century. People say that it is written in so many scriptures that one can realise or can reach God through meditation. True, it is written but the point is nowhere in any old scripture it is written that how to do meditation. Neither any realised soul be it Buddh or anyone ever told anyone how to do it. What we see in the name of meditation these days are the tricks created by individuals out of their own minds. They have nothing to do with meditation. Meditation happens at a very high state of mind and it can not be induced by any action whatsoever. It is the most guarded secret of ancient lineages and no matter how much money you pay, you can never learn it unless you spend years and years in the company of true Saints and Gurus. What is being sold in the name of meditation is simply a trick to keep one’s mind occupied for a few minutes while it keeps dreaming about meditation. – Aghor bhadra via quora
lets get this clear – “YOG” happens after self realization. Kriya “YOG” actually happens after self realization. That requires blessings of a self realized Sadhguru and several births of penance. The non-realized “coaches” are only “talking” using the jargon, the terms and conveying the emotion (falsely). Nowadays no term is more misused than “YOG”. And just like all of you i have read the AoY several times in at least 2 languages – its a gateway to opening one’s mind to the spiritual world.
first look jiddu krishnamurti articles rather than blindly following any kind of meditation, if you following anybody they said something and you follow it’s mechanical process by brain operate through thought, it will lead to no where so better leave everything and learn yourself for 1yr outer and inner without judging it without all emotion then you learn how to observe ur self like wilder listening in wildness, then by staying with your thought without judging it mean consciousness can b aware of it self bcz u r that n thought is memory projecting it self, I don’t think there is any spiritual thing about it but there is one scientific phenomenon taking place it change ur brain cells n everything took place in unconscious state u r unaware of it means matter is taken over by universal energy I mean body is material n power than over it n everything urs but u don’t have any kind of relationship with eternal it means as like phoenix, born out of ashes and go back into ashes .
Hello 🙏 I must say that so many people following your articles. They are getting so much information about meditation . Have you ever heard about Sahaj yoga . Shri Mata ji is the founder of Sahaj yoga . Please find a right person (sahaj yogi) and go to the depth of sahaj yoga . I believe that you are going to make more beautiful change for humanity through your platform. Thank you 🙏 😊
If you want to know the truth listen or read Ramana Maharshi and Jiddu Krishnamurti. They will help you. Don’t think, don’t believe, don’t suppose, don’t assume. Either you know or you don’t know. You can only talk about what you have absolute certainty. All the answers to the questions that you have always asked yourself are in the infinite ocean of wisdom that emerges from within you. Listen to your heart, listen to the spirit. Know yourself. Be Consciousness. The speaker. 🔱💖🧘👁️🕉️
How about googling and doing a little research about the man you intend to have a complete episode about. Paramahansa Yogananda raped his own photographer. He made her pregnant. Then tried to kill his bastard child when he was unable to miscarry her he left her. Paramahansa Yogananda’s son as an adult filed a complain with US court.
You don’t need to still your thoughts. Most forms of meditation techniques are a form of control- which is suppression and violence to the mind. In other words, it is dualistic and will enable its opposite polarity. If you try to tape someone’s mouth shut for a while, it will seem silent but when you take off the tape, they will have a lot to say, with more force… if you cage an animal, it will seem docile while in the cage, but let it out after being caged for long and see how it acts out its suppressed behavior. Give up all meditation techniques- that is the most advanced practice of all. The mind will have thoughts. Don’t try to control it. True meditation is just sit and allow everything to be. Thoughts will flow, and at the end of the hour, the mind will naturally turn inwards (pratyahara) and abide in its source. Allow the mind to be as it is, and notice what happens. That is the very natural and simplest (and most advanced) way of meditation.
At 5:15 the guest says its not about the miracles (paranormal) that Yogananda did, but about your relationship with god. And I agree with that, BUT the miracles/paranormal are REALLY important too. Yogananda says we are all immortal beings with the same powers are Christ, but we forgot and became identified with human form, and now think we are nothing but mortal humans. I think the paranormal/miracles part that we are all capable of doing if we remembered who we really are, is a path toward getting back to that. We are soo lost right now that we don’t even believe in miracles, let alone think that WE are capable of them.
Ranveer I love you, I see you are aiming to gain matrial growth by improving your spiritual life. But if you can see, there is no journey to travel to enlightenment, you don’t need meditation and all this practices that you call hard work. Because hard works do pays you in material life but in spirituality it doesn’t, all this experiences you mention might be helping you and healing you, but why you want to heal, to be better at material life? The knowledge of Hinduism comes from Ved, the only method for self realization. I know every end goal of your spiritual practice is self-realization but what I see it does is make you more connected to the practices and devoid of true nature of self. Know yourself and you know the god.
Thus Babaji was the first guru in the lineage of kriya yoga. His disciple, Lahiri Mahasaya, passed the knowledge to his eldest son Tinkori Lahiri Mahasaya, who, in his turn, to his son Satyacharan Lahiri Mahasaya, and he – to Shailendra Sharma. Kriya yoga is an ancient practice of yoga the knowledge of which was lost in the Middle Ages and resumed in XIX century due to Babaji Maharaj. Lots of miracles, including that he defeated death, are connected with his name. Babaji appeared to Lahiri Mahasaya in the hills of Himalayas in 1861. He taught him the forgotten knowledge of kriya yoga and told to spread it all over the world. This meeting is described in the book of Paramahansa Yogananda Autobiography of a Yogi.

Dear friend I have been seeing your article regularly and found them very informative and it is really surprising that in this age your bend of mind is towards spiritually l have. Some question s also and ihope you may be able to find answer. My question is weather the our God described in our holy book are universal or every religion has different God and those work for only their religion people and similarly after death of various people of different religion their treatment in other world is given as per their belife this means that our Devtas are different and God of other religion are different where as it is said that our Devtas created Brahmand . I am quite confused about all this perhaps you may find any answer hope that you will throw some light on this subject a
Kriya yoga techniques are only taught through initiation, so stop making sensational headlines. Kriya yoga when traditionally taught has 144 techniques though it’s not necessary to master all of them. When practised regularly and consistently (even some of them) will have an impact, but stop making misleading headlines like doing this one thing or that one thing will change life.
Hello Beer Biceps, greetings from LosAngeles. Found your dialogue with the IAS officer “amusing” but also touching. Few comments from a Yogoda and SRF member. 1. I was in my 21 years old living by Hollywood Temple, attending services and vexed with desires unlimited. I sought guidance from late brother Bhaktanand. Brother suggested that I develop a relationship with master (Guruji). It took two years. So Beer bicep that is the first thing I feel I need to share with you. About the Kriya yoga being fast….I often heard it compared with traveling on ground vs taking an airplane. It always made me laugh. I chalked it up to the American need for fast relief (from all kind of discomfort, including the spiritual emptiness. Off course Maharshi Patanjali points out that your effort (mild, medium or intense) will decide your gains. 3 I wanted to know if I am progressing. I am not sure who, told me that Master had said that if you want to know who is a true Guru look at his disciples, his followers and see how happy they are. You do your own finding.😊😊😊 4 tapa, swaadhyaya, aur ishwar ke prati samarpan is kriya yoga as described in Yoga Sutra. Guruji is credited to have said “Techniques will take you 90% of the way but in the end door only opens with devotion. Have enjoyed and been entertained by many of your guests. My gratitude. Be happy/joyful. All the best. Ps … I liked the Beer Biceps…May be I have had my share of both.
YSS/SRF would like you to believe that there is now no Kriya guru. This is the only way they can perpetuate their nonsense of guruless Kriya Yoga and lessons based teaching. They want you to forget that many prominent lineages exist coming down from Lahiri Mahasaya and wants you not to pursue them but follow only the present guruless YSS/SRF.
