What is the meaning of twinning outfits?

Monozygotic twinning represents a biological process that results in the formation of identical twins, despite the enduring fascination with them that humans have exhibited throughout history. This phenomenon is frequently observed in families where twinning is prevalent, and it is often associated with the occurrence of bodily deformities. The process may be caused by pressure during rock crystallization or later, and is an enigma, according to Jenny van Dongen, an epigeneticist at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Why do successful people wear the same clothes every day?

Many successful people choose to wear a uniform or adopt a consistent personal style to simplify their lives and eliminate decision fatigue. By wearing the same outfit or a variation of it every day, they free up mental energy to focus on more important decisions and tasks. Some highly successful people who wear the same thing every day include Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama, Albert Einstein, Matilda Kahl, and Vera Wang.

Steve Jobs is known for his signature black turtleneck, blue jeans, and New Balance sneakers. Mark Zuckerberg is known for his grey t-shirt, jeans, and hoodie. Barack Obama is known for his limited wardrobe consisting of blue or grey suits and eating the same thing for lunch everyday. Albert Einstein owns multiple versions of the same grey suit to avoid having to decide what to wear each day. Matilda Kahl is an art director at a New York advertising agency who wears a white silk blouse and black pants to simplify her daily routine and eliminate decision fatigue. Vera Wang, a fashion designer, has a system around what she wears, using dark leggings and a t-shirt as the base and accessories to represent the expressive fashion part.

In the end, as a fashion professional or insider, there is a uniform that works for you and can be changed, dressed up, down, explored, taken more street or couture, but ultimately, it’s an editing process.

Why do people wear the same clothes over and over?

Matilda Kahl, an art director in New York, cites decision fatigue and less time getting ready as reasons for wearing the same outfit everyday. She also mentions less stress during the day over the decision she initially made in the morning. Christopher Nolan, a successful filmmaker, has decided to reduce wasted energy by choosing a dark, narrow-lapeled jacket over a blue dress shirt with black trousers and sensible shoes for each day.

This approach not only reduces decision-making but also requires less maintenance, organization, and shuffling. A capsule wardrobe may not result in less laundry, but it does result in easier laundry and storage. These factors contribute to a more balanced and efficient wardrobe.

Do people with ADHD wear the same clothes?

Individuals with ADHD are prone to experiencing decision fatigue, which can have a significant impact on their daily lives. One area where this is particularly evident is in the choice of attire. Selecting appropriate and comfortable clothes on a daily basis can be a challenging task for those with ADHD due to the presence of sensory issues.

Is matching corny?

Matching is a popular activity that has been practiced for centuries and is now more popular than ever before. It helps people create a special bond, show their feelings for one another, and create a feeling of togetherness. Matching is great for families looking to do something together, as it doesn’t take much time and is fun. The whole family thinks about each other when they wear the same thing, and they feel a closer bond with each other. It’s just as effective as taking a trip or playing games together.

Matching is also a creative way to get the family dressed up for a special occasion, as part of the fun is in the coordination of getting everyone in matching attire. This adds to the excitement of the event by making the preparation and build-up part of the whole experience. Additionally, since most special events include pictures, you’re sure to get a fabulous family photo.

What is the point of twinning?

After World War II, twinning aimed to foster understanding and promote cross-border projects and peace among European people. Coventry and Dresden twinned to promote peace and reconciliation after heavy bombing. Each country was represented in a specific ward, with a peace garden dedicated to that city. Bristol Corporation sent five “leading citizens” on a goodwill mission to Hanover in 1947. Twinning is more popular in Europe but has since spread to other continents.

What is the slang for matching clothes?

The term “twinsies” is a slang term used by Millennials to describe a group of women who wear similar attire, including dresses, heels, and jewelry, as a means of expressing their love and unity.

Why do people wear matching clothes?

Matching outfits with your partner can visually display your relationship, like a wedding band or team jersey. They also make you feel connected and give you something to bond over. Wearing coordinated outfits looks great in photos and keeps you connected even if you live apart or need comfort. However, there are cons to wearing matching outfits. In a relationship, two become one, and many people worry about blending into one person with their partner. Wearing clothes that match makes you look alike and molds you into the same person.

  • I have to say, I’m not sure if this is what you’re going for but I’ve noticed some things perusal your website the past few days. You are clearly religious and faith a very central part of your life. I am very much not religious at all and will probably always love a very different life from yours. However, I’m so intrigued by how “down to earth” you and your family are and I think you are doing an amazing job showing a real life family with the values that you have. We are so different, yet you are so relatable. Whether you meant to or not, you’re breaking down barriers and creating positive energy between religious and non religious people 🙂

  • I’m so glad you give your kids choices about their clothes once they reach a certain age. self expression is such an important thing, especially when you’re in your teenage years, and you’re doing nothing but helping your kids by encouraging them to wear what they feel best and most comfortable in šŸ™‚

  • lol my Hubby likes orange shirts and when on holidays this is what he wears. One day on the way home I lost him in the airport because he wasnt wearing the orange shirt. He was standing less than six feet from me but because I was looking for the orange shirt I just didnt see him. Wearing the same has its advantages even for the older generations šŸ™‚

  • Have you ever taken the kiddos shopping and said, “Choose a shirt” to see what they would pick? I think it’s fascinating to see my grandkid’s taste and how it evolves. Then I go home after shopping sprees and bang my head on the the table. (Kidding) For example, my eldest g’daughter has adored ‘accessories’ since she was a toddler. Very curious. She would spend all her clothing allowance in ‘Claires.” And another does not like dresses…she’s a sporty girl and likes to wear Seahawks stuff. I love seeing what they pick…..xoj

  • I miss u so much an i never new u but watchin u over the yrs i came to love u an ur family so very much an love perusal u b such amazing mother an im still so mad that god had to take u from us 😞😓 every nite i get so mad but i no for sure ur still there but ( not) ur still there in our minds helping an answering our questions, thank u so much babes i will watch u all till i cant any longer 💕 u will all b in all my prayers 😘

  • Incredible how many opinionated women are here. Tons of families match clothes for photo sessions, holidays, field trips, sports teams. They match pajamas on Christmas, but this family cannot match clothes because their individuality, feelings and blah blah blah. How ridiculous and hypocrite is this society! How many of the intruders here pay for these kid’s clothes? ….. then shut up and let these parents grow their own kids in their own way. When they grow up and become adults, they are going to wear whatever they wants just as this mom said.

  • I’m glad they get to choose after a certain age. I understand it for younger kids. However, from experience I dated a guy who’s mom also did this when they went on vacation. so, we were on vacation and I had to where matching, and I didn’t like getting stared at. Also, since it is a great tool for finding people, his parents were perusal us…constantly….we weren’t teenagers I was in my early 20’s. I didn’t like that at 20 something they felt that I couldn’t be trusted to be on my own for 5 minutes. I had a cell phone they could have called me. but as an adult with other adults and no kids, I just didn’t like being treated like a kid who couldn’t find my mom. so, I’m glad that at some point they get to choose. Having 2 younger brothers and my high school years being only 10 years behind me I can tell you that without a doubt style and fashion play heavily in those years and are very important because those years and into your 20’s are all about finding who and what you are and who and what you want to be. fashion plays into learning independence, and how to dress yourself appropriately without mom, finding what you like and don’t like, as well as identity, and here’s a huge one I learned in the past few years: learning to apply what you like and how to dress for a professional job interview. people who are interviewing you expect a lot. Especially from women. perfect hair, confidence, perfect outfit, jewelry, and makeup. makeup is so, so complicated. I’m so, so lost on that one.

  • I think your reasons are reasonably valid. Some people might say that wearing the same clothes is constructing their creativity but I feel like there will always be an outlet for them to express themselves. If you look at her article regarding their rooms, you can see that the boys are definitely not limited in their creativity. Anw, long story short, I like your mindset of solving problems as they come.

  • The trouble comes when other children wear the same colors as your family and you have to recount! šŸ™‚ Still loads of fun! Yeah – thrift shop prices have gone up! Though I must say that I can purchase high quality clothing which lasts like new for 2 seasons, but Walmart stuff falls apart after one! Just found your website and (when I have a few more seconds :}) I will be perusal more with many thumbs up – we have alot in common! šŸ™‚ (unassisted births, homeschool, lotsa children, Back to Eden Garden!!!!!!!!!!!) so happy to find you! :)!

  • Hi Andrea! I just recently found your website (YouTube recommended it) and I had to subscribe. I love learning about your family and even after being subscribed for a few hours I already got some great ideas from your website, so thank you so much for sharing about yourself and your family. I love the idea about the shirts! I have always been fond of this idea myself. It does bring about a unity amongst family somehow. It’s odd how it works but it’s very true. I’m sure you know this but here’s a little tip that may bless you or even someone else: back-to-school time is a perfect time to stock up on polo shirts and t-shirts. I always find polo shirts for $3 – $4 during the back-to-school sales, and this year our local Wal-Mart had all of the girls’ t-shirts and leggins for $2 a piece! Great stock up price. I’m off to binge watch more of your articles. Keep up the great work!

  • their probably not using their money to buy clothes in other colors because clothes are expensive and they would rather spend their money on other things. why can’t you ise your own money to buy them the clothes they want? some of your kids are very young and probably dont have enough money to buy their own clothes

  • This is such a cute idea! Me and my sister LOVED wearing matching dresses and it really does build a family bond. We actually found as we grow older that we do dress very similarly and do match/coordinate. I love how you don’t pressure your kids into it, it’s just a fun and smart thing to do 🙏🏻 bless you

  • I’m not a big fan of this idea, I find clothes let you express yourself, especially going into the teen years, and this kind of cuts this out of the picture. I’m okay with you doing it, not my problem, I just personally wouldn’t do this. I just watched the part where you said when they got so old they can go wear whatever they want, which is reasonable

  • I find this idea so funny. As a kid my mom dressed my sister and i the same for special occasions. but when i got older told me i didn’t have to anymore, so i chose not to. But now as an adult I find myself and my mom picking out similar outfits on the daily! colours and styles of tops šŸ˜› (just a random thought lol)

  • I wasn’t personally blessed with being able to have more than one child. But do have a large family including twin brothers (one of whom has adopted over a dozen kids). Every time we’ve gone out with either just our kid or nieces and nephews too, we match. When I was young one of my twin brothers, only 3 at the time got lost in Great America. I was hysterical and it took hours to find him (partly because my dad was a cop so my brother knew the security guards uniforms weren’t cops and partly because the search kept getting called off by personnel who saw his twin with us and thought the lost child had been found). I’d rather be safe than sorry and it becomes clear who the child belongs with if s/he starts to wander. I’m only 5′ but my husband is 6’8″ so every time we’ve found a lost child they immediately go on his shoulders (if we’re in a crowd as we look for security or cops) so they become visible to their parents. I guess because of what happened I’m hyper aware of kids that might be lost and it’s always on my mind. So good for y’all, warms my heart.

  • I’m glad this works for your family, but you are a bit too crunchy granola for me. I disagree with the home birth, but this is because I had a lot of birth complications. I’m not trying to make you feel bad, I just am saying how I feel. I wouldn’t want me kids wearing the same color clothes b/c I wouldn’t want them to feel as though they had too, I’d want them to have their own identityx

  • Just an idea, when the girls get older you should buy three loft beds and then put three dressers in the bottom space and when they wake up then can climb down their ladder and go under their bed and get their outfit from their dresser. Also if you get a slimmer dresser, you can fit boxes or bins of toys nest to them šŸ˜‰

  • Very cool! I know you shop at Walmart since you mentioned it. Does it bother you that you may be purchasing clothing that was made in a factory that may use children to make clothing? I knew almost nothing about this until I felt convicted this past year and did some research. I know try to purchase clothing that I know was made in the US and has transparency or used at yard sales. I am not trying to be rude in any way but really wanted your thoughts on this. šŸ™‚

  • Clothes really don’t describe the person in my opinion. You would think I was homeless with all the torn up clothes I wear by choice. And the colors. Almost all black or dark. You would never expect me to have a garden full of miraculous colors. A place I find a lot of joy. And that I adore my multicolored chicken eggs. My clothes would never tell you what I’m interested in. It simply has nothing to do with my personality. I love this idea of matching and I enjoy matching myself to my kids colors all the time. They like it too, its never forced here either. Simplicity usually wins.

  • I’ve got a very different life than you and your family, and when I clicked on the first article I watched (6 boys in one room), I admit I thought it was going to be weird and outrageous etc etc. But this is the third article I’ve watched of yours, and actually, I’ve realised there’s no good or bad compared to my life – just different. Thank you for posting your experiences, it’s certainly a window into a big and religious family I didn’t have before.

  • When it time to go clothes shopping or if any of them become more interested in fashion, would you let them come with you and pick out something they like for the price of a polo or solid shirt you were going to buy from them anyway? Just curious, I love a how a lot of your kids don’t care about what they are wearing, I cringe at some of the expensive clothing items that I see some kids wearing nowadays.

  • So when you said that you told Thomas that he didn’t have to wear matching and said that’s what you were going to buy him and he could use his own money. If one day he decided he didn’t want to wear matching, could he wear blue on a red day or would he have to wear a shirt he bought? Idk if that makes sense?

  • Where I live here in Australia the matching colours looked liked a school uniform, so it makes complete sense. When I was at school our uniform designs were very impractical for playing, for example not being able to lift our arms up without the dress lifting or the shirt being untucked, but now the all the kids wear polo shirts and long shorts. šŸ™‚

  • What kind of pajamas do you guys wear? Do you match those up? Do any of the kids ever want a like cartoon character shirt or something? I noticed the girls get clothes a little different, do you ever think of making the boys a shirt from a different fabric or buying a different type off shirt then a polo?
