I was a kid in the 80s and late-teen in the early 90s, and remember the kids who thought they were cool for wearing Jordache, Stussy, Bugle Boy, British Knights, Guess, Sassoon, and all the other sheep brands. They made me realize at a young age that some people are just walking costumes who wear what they think they have to in order to become leaves in a forest and blend in.
Native Chicagoan here, and I remember most if not all of these brands! Sears, Montgomery Wards, Marshall Field’s, and Carson Pirie Scott were all major department stores in either downtown Chicago, or anchor stores at suburban area malls. I also recall The County Seat, Lord & Taylor, Wieboldt’s, Goldblatt’s, and KMart. For everyone who watches this, and received the Sears catalog at any point in their lives my brother went to college with a girl whose family provided the paper that each catalog was printed. Ah, receiving The Christmas Wish Catalog before the holiday, a dream come true for so many years 😄
