  • There was a Brioni boutique in the building I worked in and I stopped by and got my dad a nice cardigan for about $500 in the early 1990s. Had no idea it was more than just an Italian menswear shop, it just was convenient to stop by after work during the Christmas holiday rush. My dad liked the sweater but he didn’t know squat about Brioni either. So this article was just about menswear, what about the women? I only know Loro Piana for the cashmere. Personally I prefer the handmade Fair Isle sweaters from Scotland and the Harris Tweed from Harris, yes I’ve literally been there and got the labels of authenticity to attach once the clothing is finished. I’m short so I prefer sweaters woven and made to measure but I’m certainly not wealthy, just into artisanal crafts.
