What Size Is Apc Denim?

A.P.C. jeans are a staple in the denim wardrobe, offering a variety of styles for both men and women. The brand’s iconic denim wardrobe essentials include relaxed straight legs, slim-fit silhouettes, and cropped wide-leg styles. The New Standard jeans, which inherit the slim leg of the Petit Standard and roomier top block of the New Standard, are perfect for individuals with a more athletic physique. They come in both Raw and Stretch styles, and the A.P.C. Size Guide helps determine the most suitable size by comparing international measures charts.

A.P.C. jeans are made from sanforized raw Japanese denim, making them a modern-day raw denim that will wear over time. The brand is known for its original silhouettes, exclusive washes, and playful details. For spring/summer 2024, late 70s rock and 90s California style come together in unique pieces.

The new model of A.P.C. jeans fits true to size and is good for athletic thighs. If you own a Petit Standard or Petit New Standard in the same raw denim fabric, you may need to size down one from those fits as the Standard fit is more roomy. The Japanese raw denim is recommended for a more roomy fit.

A.P.C.’s collection offers versatility and durability, with premium denim in raw jeans. The Petit Standard is the skinniest of the range, and the APC New Standard is a straighter legged cut with wider leg openings and a very standard profile.

In addition to jeans, A.P.C. also offers a loose-fit pale chestnut brown overshirt in organic and recycled denim.

These questions can help you find the perfect jeans that fit your body and avoid unnecessary expenses. By understanding your denim dilemmas, you can find the perfect pair that fits your body and budget.

Should you size up or down in rigid denim?

Sizing down jeans, like The Hustler Ankle Fray, depends on comfort and the material. For soft, worn jeans, sizing down is not recommended. However, for fashionable, rigid denim, sizing down is often necessary to prevent bagging. The decision to size down also depends on the material, laundering method, and how the jeans hug or squeeze your figure. Jeans used to be 100% cotton, but now many have spandex in them.

Should you size up or down in raw denim?

When purchasing unsanforized raw denim, it is essential to select a larger size than one would normally choose, as the fabric tends to shrink after washing. In contrast, sanforized denim may be sized down, as the fabric stretches after wearing. Denim garments produced directly from the loom may exhibit a stiffness and discomfort that is uncomfortable for the wearer. Additionally, the process of breaking in jeans may result in the transfer of dye to other garments.

Does rigid denim shrink?

Denim is a durable and sturdy material that can shrink when washed. The size to buy depends on your wear style and washing habits. Some men prefer to keep their jeans rigid, while others prefer to wash them like cotton. The brand’s marketing and branding include a good story, as seen with Levi’s Vintage 1966 501® Jeans. The tag items are attached with thread, unlike plastic, ensuring a good connection.

The brand offers a range of clothing and accessories, characterized by simplicity and casual elegance. A. P. C is known for its understated everyday essentials, including meticulously cut jackets, shirts, cosy knits, and perfect-fitting jeans. To find the perfect fit, customers should follow the A. P. The brand offers four fits for jeans: New Standard, Petit New Standard, Petit Standard, and Standard. The brand uses the European sizing system, and customers can convert their universal size to A. P. C sizing using the size chart provided.

Should I size up or down in denim?

Sizing jeans up or down is generally advised due to the extra strain on the denim, which can cause rips or breaks. Stretch jeans, which are designed for comfort and optimal movement, are not suitable for sizing down as they stretch when worn and retract when taken off. Denim made with 100% cotton won’t retract unless washed, so a regular or loose fit may allow sizing down. This can result in a loose-fitting pair that is too tight. To help you understand the fit of Nudie Jeans, a jeans fit guide has been developed, providing a comprehensive overview of all fits and allowing comparison between similar and different styles.

Does raw denim get looser?

Does raw denim get looser?

Raw denim growth occurs due to stress and stretching, with high-stress areas like the rise and thigh experiencing the most growth. The waistband also experiences significant growth due to stress and stretching while sitting. The inseam rarely changes until washing, with small shrinkage in the inseam attributed to horizontal stretching, pulling vertical yards closer together, fabric wrinkles, and wearing jeans in the rain.

Water will always shrink raw denim. New to raw denim, jeans may shrink a full size smaller after the first wash. However, broken-in jeans will stretch and grow after a day or two of wear, but will never reach their original size.

  • Good review and you’ve got a nice voice to listen to 🙂 Still think that giving a 9/10 for something that isn’t selvedge + has strange loose thread is too kind! I also believe it’s rather difficult to assess the “fit” of jeans and kinda irrelevant because it really depends on the person wearing it as well as the style he wants. For me Naked&Famous is without a doubt the best quality/price ratio in the market as well 🙂

  • I don’t mean to hate, but there’s a lot of issues here…. You should work off of measurement charts and compare like products instead of going by “slim fit”. As many other comments stated on here, weird guy is not slim fit, super guy is. Even so, “fit” is so subjective, and if you didn’t choose a fit that worked for you, that’s more on you for not doing your research because multiple fits are available for each brand, and measurements are listed online. You also gave higher scores for the brand that you’re most familiar with and have been wearing for a while, (of course you know your size, and it has stretch too) ordered a size up in a brand that you didn’t know, (and gave them a six for it) and discounted scores for a long inseam, which shouldn’t be relevant. Lastly, you’re not actually comparing like products; you’re comparing stretch denim to pure cotton, selvedge to non selvedge, and probably different fabric weights. If you wanted to redo this article (and you should), you should do your research using measurements, get your correct size in each product, and compare actual like products made of the same materials (no stretch vs non stretch), selvedge, same fabric weight. Like I said, not trying to be mean, but this article didn’t really make any sense to me and I figured you would want to hear it.

  • Value and quality results are incongruous. Jean’s should never contain elastic! APC standards have reduced since late 90s. Nudie has odd back pockets, and the nudie mark, which I hate, never liked. Also too slim and you ll affect circulation, not worth it. Raw selvedge still washes best. And standard classic, fit, rocks. I’m 178cm, 74kg, with a muscular, toned body, and with decent calves, another reason to stay away from tapered jeans.

  • Hi, fantastic article production and I really like your measurements and disclosure of your height/weight. I think this separates you from many other style YouTubers who often just say “oh this fits slim” or “this fits baggy”. Can I ask why you don’t disclose the waist measurement as it is usually different from vanity tag size of the brand (eg: naked and famous denim waist is often 2-3 inches bigger than the tag size)?

  • I’m a woman and I got two pairs of Nudie and just didn’t like them. They are too long for me (I’m only 5’2) yet too skinny. The organic cotton one I got was one of the most uncomfortable jeans I’ve ever worn. The other one I got was a used one that was already hemmed to a 29″ inseam if I remember correctly. It was bootcut so I can wear with boots to elongate my legs. That one did fit okay but I didn’t feel that the jeans were anything special so I ended up donating both when I moved. I recently got a N&F Nightshade raw selvage denim jeans (98% cotton 2% stretch) in size 27 (I normally wear size 24-25) because of their weird measurements but I absolutely adore it even though the inseam length of 33-34″ is friggin ridiculous (they are just not a petite people friendly brand, particularly not for petite women). But the quality of the denim and the material, including the zipper, is out of this world. So much more impressive to me than nudie jeans. And honestly out of the three jeans you’ve shown here I find that the N&F jeans fits you the best. The nudie jeans made your figure a bit too…feminine (for a lack of better word, they made you look too curvy). The N&F jeans looked to me like how jeans are supposed to fit men, which is a more relaxed, straight up and down figurine look. And also the thickness of the N&F made those jeans just stand out in quality they even look like they shone. But still, I think at least for women they really need to get better fits especially for women who are not over 5’6 (I think a 33 inseam would be too long even then).

  • Dope article. I.’ve had lots of Raw denim, Naked and Famous, Nudies, Unbranded, Gustin. This helped a lot because there are no denim stores around me so I have to buy online. I’m looking at APC or trying a different cut of Naked and Famous, maybe Easy guy. So far I’ve found Naked’s to be the best bang for buck, I like all the creativity they bring to Raw denim.

  • The Nudie jeansis the best on this list then the Naked & Famous the APC is over rated. The fit on the Nudie and Naked and famous is a nice fit. Lately all I’ve been buying is Nudie in the past year I’ve gotten 6 Jeans and 2 jean jacket need to pick up more jeans and jean jacket. I think the Nudie had the best fit on this list

  • You’re probably too young to have ever seen them but, those Nudie jeans remind me of the old Jordache jeans back in the day. They were one of my favorite pair of jeans to wear next to my Calvin Klein’s. Now it’s between Brave Star regular fit and or slim fit and Unbranded taper / Naked & Famous weird guy.

  • Give the N&F pants the points back for fit. You bought the wrong cut so no foul. That’d be like me buying skinny jeans and saying they suck. That’s me screwing up. Same for the APC pair you bought to big, no foul. Take the time to find and compare similar items that fit if you’re going to do it this way.

  • Hey man, great article! Obviously you know a lot about denim so I wanted to ask you question about brands: Acne Studios, A.P.C, BLK DNM and Replay. If you have had contact with products of these brands could you tell me which of these brands makes the best denim? Which makes the worst? Keep uploading more content! 🙂
