In 2011, Judge Brendan F Flanagan disposed of 526 cases at the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) in Atlanta, Florida. The Cook County Courts Leadership has requested the state’s Judicial Inquiry Board to examine potential disciplinary action against Cook County Circuit Judge Kathy Flanagan for her conduct. Flanagan was described as “hostile, impatient, rude, and dishonest”. Tensions in a Cook County courtroom escalated last month when attorney Brad Schneiderman was handcuffed to a chair following an order by Judge Kathy Flanagan.
Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans has referred misconduct accusations against Judge Kathy Flanagan to the Judicial Inquiry Board, which will decide whether to file charges. The Executive Committee of the Circuit Court of Cook County issued a special order in response to allegations of misconduct against Judge Kathy M. Flanagan.

For anyone who does not know the story, based on the evidence presented to the court and the car computer and other cctv evidence, this teenager drove her car 100km an hour into the side of a building so that she could “end” the toxic relationship with her boyfriend who was in the front seat. The bf’s friend was in the back seat and he had nothing to do with anything, he was just there and also died due to the teenager’s actions. This was a case of an emotionally unstable girl with murderous intent.
I went to school with her. We first met when we were like 12-13. We used to misbehave together in class to annoy a teacher we didn’t like in the eighth grade. I’m not proud of my behavior from then, I was an annoying kid but I thankfully grew out of it when we reached high school. Mackenzie never did, she would stay mocking and belittling teachers and other school staff. She even once got suspended because she made an instagram account in middle school that was exclusively for posting pictures/ making of a lunch lady who was indian and had a heavy accent. she made fun of her bc of the accent. She didnt feel the need to be mean to me but she was a stereotypical mean girl personified. She was better than everyone else and everyone else needed to fall at her feet at all times. Her friends all shared the same mindset as well. She ran for homecoming queen but when she lost to another girl she was posting about how everyone “just couldn’t handle her” and how she was still the queen in her mind. Drugs were her whole personality. Her username on everything was babykush or something like that. Sometimes when I used the bathroom at school I’d see her skipping class to vape. She even offered me a hit once. We were never friends or enemies we just knew of each other bc we had a lot of classes. Some of her friends go to my college now and all they post on snapchat are stories of them saying like “look at you then look at me and see if you’re worthy of talking to me”. Narcissists all around.
To clear things up: She and her boyfriend were in a toxic relationship. She wanted to “end” the relationship by doing this. She already drove this route a week prior, on her own (She’s never been on that road besides that). She then did it while her boyfriend and his friend were in the car, at 100mph. The friend was in the wrong place, at the wrong time. She crashed into the wall at an angle where the biggest impact (by far) was on the right side of the car. Both guys sat there, thats how they died and she lived. Edit: She had no remorse the whole trial, she was even grinning. She only started crying while reading a statement and when she learned her sentence. She floored it 4 seconds before impact. She also threatened to crash the car with her and her BF inside on a different occasion. She was also on drugs
This may be the first time she has been held accountable for her actions and she appears shocked. Parents teach your children about the consequences of their actions so that they make informed decisions. The parents calling out ‘love you baby’ did this girl a disservice and she is paying the price for that.
When you’re a teenager, things feel way more important than they actually are. Time moves slower for you. If only she knew that that relationship could’ve just been a distant memory in just a couple of years. She could’ve moved on, just go do other things in life. Instead she ended her life. Forever branded a murderer. A tiny fish, thinking that the pond is all she’ll ever have, not knowing there’s a vast ocean of experiences out there.
Hadn’t heard of this so I looked it up, she was also charged with breaking into a church and vandalizing and desecrating it a few days prior to murdering two people. She was also charged with trafficking mushrooms and having a digital scale. Considering they can prove she drove the route ahead of time that’s premeditation and she admitted in the hospital that she was trying to kill all three of them. This whole case is just wild. Who in their right mind has an argument with their boyfriend and not only thinks I should kill him and myself and our friend but then after multiple days to think about it actually decides to carry through with it? This girl is clearly deeply unwell mentally and emotionally. I hope she is able to receive the help she so clearly needs while in prison. Condolences to the victims families. Adding to clarify: She was not on mushrooms at the time, they were in her pocket. She was high and had 3x the legal limit for THC in her system but they chose not to prosecute for DUI. Also for those who are not aware digital scales are considered drug paraphernalia, unless you can prove you use the scale for legal reasons (a chef in a kitchen or a gemstone seller etc.). In this case the scale was found in her jacket pocket with a bag of mushrooms, pretty cut and dry. I can’t actually find any articles that go into detail about what she said in the hospital but multiple people have said in the comments that she admitted in hospital to intending to kill herself as well, I’m still trying to find where this is coming from but the only thing I’ve seen is that when the detective was interviewing her in the hospital she asked if she was going to lose her license for ten years.
I worked in a prison for only one year, but quit because I was beginning to feel like a prisoner in there. I can’t begin to imagine not having the liberty of going home from prison,FOR THE REST OF YOUR NATURAL LIFE. This should be an eye-opener to kids who think they won’t be held accountable for their actions.
When my dad was teaching me how to drive, lesson 1 went like this, “This vehicle is a lethal weapon. It is not a toy, it is not something to trifle with. You can kill someone and yourself if you don’t pay attention at all times. Don’t play stupid games, don’t treat it lightly. I don’t want to have to explain to your mother how you killed yourself or someone else because you drove drunk, were putting on makeup in the rear view mirror while driving or looking at the cute boy who beeped at you.” (This was before cell phones). I never forgot his advice. I never hurt anyone or myself because I always paid attention and treated my cars like the lethal weapons they were. Sadly, this child got the justice her actions warranted. Condolences to the families and friends of the two young men.
It’s fascinating to watch how she slowly realizes that she won’t get away with her crime but will be punished really hard. Sometimes the law prevails. Good this way! EDIT: I should have watched to the end first… It is disgusting how her dad yelled “Your innocent !” If she learned right and wrong from her father, it’s clear why she’s crying. All actions have consequences! Teach your children about it!
I’m so proud of the judge delivering this regardless of the defendant being a minor. She kept bringing up words “murder” and “killing” and that child needed to hear that. She gets to see the light of day, those other people don’t. They’re gone forever, they’re never going back to their families or get to experience getting old. People need to know that getting a drivers license isn’t a pass to do what you want on the street . It’s a privilege not a toy
The fact that she posted the day before sentencing how ” she wasn’t a cool girl, just a girl who could do a lot of drugs and get away with it” speaks volumes of what kind of narcissistic personality she has and how well her parents have been monitoring her activities. And her father may not want to accept it, but she’s anything but ‘innocent’.
The fact she survived is crazy. Her parents have done nothing but enable her disgusting, unaccountable, spoiled, selfish behavior her whole life this creating this murderous monster. May she have the worst time in prison, her parents get some sort of backlash for their own disgusting behaviors, and the families of the victims receive some sort of comfort during this tragic time!!
For some back story on this: There was a black box inside the vehicle that shows she floored the gas pedal and made no attempt to brake until the car crashed into a factory wall going over 100mph. She had smoked some weed and I believe I read somewhere that they had mushrooms as well. The prosecution also leaned on testimony that she had threatened her boyfriend in the past indicating that this crash was on purpose. The other kid in the back seat was just a friend looking for a ride home. To add fuel to the fire, after the crash she posted a TikTok bragging about how she can “do drugs and not die” while smiling and winking into the camera.
If you read the details of her crime, the planning, calculations, precision and execution, She was on a mission to kill her boyfriend, who already flagged many times wanting to break up with her, and the other friend of the deceased who also killed just happened to be on the ride and not knowing her previously, she waited long time after the crush to call for help, and attended concert posting TikTok articles just few days after the crime, this is evil at it’s purest form, 15 years is way too generous if you knew all the details
She is a very horrible person. I feel bad for the other guy he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. For her to see an innocent guy get in the car and still go through with her insane plan, that’s beyond cold. After listening to her mother, its not that surprising to see why she is the way she is. She deserves to rot in prison her whole life. She should be grateful that she has a future or whatever that may be but she robbed Dominic and Davion of their futures.
I was a fire fighter/ paramedic. Got to a scene and the car was unrecognizable. Was just a ball of metal. The people inside were deceased. There was a guy at the scene we thought was a witness walking around. Come to find out he was the driver. Drunk with a blood alcohol level of .283. Not a scratch on him. To this day I can’t fathom how he didn’t die in the crash, let alone was standing upright and walking and talking
Of course her parents love her, but the mother acting shocked and shaking her head really chaps my ass. As a mother of a daughter, myself, I will always love my daughter and I would of course tell her even in a circumstance like this, but I’ll be damned if I sit there and act like that. Very disrespectful to the other families. Why are you shaking your head in shock?? Did you think your daughter couldn’t be held accountable for her actions? She got off easy. Should have gotten life.
What killed her chances of being found NOT guilty was that there was article footage from a surveillance camera that proved that she did not actually lose control of the vehicle. But purposely tried to crash the car when it was running at 100mph. She wanted everyone inside the car dead. Maybe including herself as well. Which is irrelevant in a court of law. She killed two people on purpose. And now she has to face the consequences.
Put her in prison for the rest of her life so the other inmates can enjoy her that are in there for life she’s young and she’s going to be wanted really bad by the other inmates so let him have at her I should be going I want to go home I didn’t mean to do it I want to go home but she’s going to be in there for the rest of her life isn’t that beautiful everybody thinking of yourself at the time but now she’s really thinking of herself at the time boo who
Another reason I truly believe teenagers shouldn’t be allowed to drive. Most people don’t think of it to this extreme but driving is literally taking control of a powerful machine which can cause life or death. Idk whose idea it was to let sixteen year old CHILDREN have that kind of responsibility but that decision has led to a lot of accidents and fatalities because a lot of kids ARENT responsible or mature enough yet to handle that kind of responsibility. Then extreme cases like this happen. Not saying an adult couldn’t have done the same thing or that this girl couldn’t have found another way to do the awful thing she wanted-to kill-but it only made it all the easier even being allowed to drive. Like we don’t trust teens with guns-another object that can cause life or death and requires massive responsibility to handle safely-so why are we letting kids handle vechicles? I think legal driving age should be 21. If the government thinks your not mature enough to handle drinking or smoking until your 21 why do they think their responsible enough to drive-essentially putting life and death in their hands?
As a father, I have a sense — but only a sense, and a small one at that — of what the parents of the defendant and the victims are going through. Just the mere thought of my daughter standing up at the defense table is gut-wrenching. And thinking of my son or daughter being taken away by such a callous and violent act — there are no words. I hope all the families involved in this awful tragedy find the strength to go on.
I saw her mother making faces of incredulity in the front row of the gallery as the judge read off each of Mackenzie’s convictions – she’s acting as though this is a grotesque miscarriage of Justice. I can tell exactly what sort of parent she has been based on her exaggerated reactions so yes ‘Mama Bear’ this is your fault too. If I had ever committed an act as evil as Mackenzie, there wouldn’t have been anything left over to arrest let alone prosecute once my mom got through with me
Why were the parents so shocked??? There was article showing just how intentional her actions were. Are they shocked that their daughter was found guilty on all counts, or that their daughter could do such a thing. The most disgusting thing I read while researching more of this story is that she faces life in prison … With the possibility of parole after 15 years. God help us she does NOT get it.
Her problem was that had already threatened to crash her car to punish the boyfriend — as well as multiple other threats towards him. Very difficult to make anyone believe it was just an accident when you’ve already threatened that very action. If she had not made all those prior incriminating threats, it’s possible she might have gotten away with it. What a crazy tragedy.
As parents, we strive to teach our children right from wrong at an early age so that when they become independent, they can exercise the right judgement in these situations. One simple bad decision could be life altering and this is a prime example of both families having to see the ugly side of that.
Anyone know how she’s charged with 4 counts of murder?? What did she get 3.5 years each? What a disgrace and miscarriage of justice. This pos should rot in prison for the rest of her life. She had no remorse. She was out partying two weeks after she was out of the hospital. She’s only crying because she got caught.
An “acquaintance” of mine decided to crash his car into a brick wall back in 2002 in an attempt to end the lives of himself and his girlfriend. She died, he didn’t and he was only sentenced to 5 years of jail due to his rich parents having the best lawyers. It’s great to see someone really paying the price for their actions and a judge who can see straight through the facade.
Truly messed up situation but I’m still not convinced that the evidence was definitive in this case. If she tried to kill him, then she tried to kill herself as well, thus her telling the 3rd victim she couldn’t give him a ride at 1st. We’re there any suicide atts b4 or after the crash? Her making a wrong turn and falling asleep at the wheel after a night of drugging at 5 in the morning seems more logical/likely than the alternative
Irony is, her parents didn’t know (didn’t care) where their 17 years old daughter was on that morning at 5:30 am. For the next 20 years, they will know with mathematical certainty where she is every day and every night. The state is going to do what her parents never did to her, is going to put her on a 10:00 pm bed time curfew until probably pass her 40’s. I am not one of those that automatically puts blame on the parents when a child commits a crime. I have 3 boys myself and I know how unfair that judgement can be. But in this case, there is no doubt in my mind, that this vicious girl is the product of one of the worst parenting I have ever seen, and something tells me is more of a failure on the mother than on the father. May God give strength to the families of those 2 boys to continue their lives.
To the parents and family of Mackenzie Shirilla, who said “We love you baby.” I bet the parents of the two teens she killed that day would of liked to of said the same thing to their babies. No one is saying you cant say “we love you” but that wont change that fact, or your denial, that your “baby” is a murderer.
Two people are dead at the hands of this individual who made the decision to intentionally murder them & so no one should feel any sympathy for her or shed a tear because Evil today met its consequences which is right & just. Sadly & unfortunately for MacKenzie’s parents, they have discovered that their daughter whom I’m sure they thought was a good person, is not. This individual /criminal has been found guilty of the worst crime possible because there is no coming back from death. It is final. You cannot apologize or make restitution to the victims because they are “gone” forever & so this individual who selfishly took two lives should have to forfeit her own. Whether that be in the form of the death penalty or life imprisonment, this person should never be afforded the privilege of walking freely, living freely, or rejoining a free society, again.
She has no conscience at all . She diesnt feel bad about her actions especially when leople deliberately keep trying to defend her actions. How can you justify a death of a child? HOW CAN YOU JUSTIFY A DEATH AND THEN TRY AND IMPERSONATE THE VICTIMS. She has no feeling of a life or the loss of life whatsoever. I dont feel bad fkr this woman at all. My family and i also deserve justice from people like her and gaby chase who have ruined my life and tortured abd stalked me for years and never once apologized or offered to help me when she was buying businesses lile harts landing while i was sleeping on the concrete. Not once did she offer help or ask if i was hungry. She just wabted to hurt me and follow my every move to hide her charges for trafficking drugs.
To all the kids that are reading this and are going through a tough time. Mackenzie thought her life was tough. That it wasnt worth living. Her fights with her boyfriend were the last straw for her. Well look at her now, look at the position shes in. Try to put yourself into her shoes. I bet she’d give ANYTHING to buy back her previous problems and trade her new problems away. Its NEVER that bad and high school is such a meaningless part of your life when you become an adult. I know it seems like its not when youre in it but its FOUR years. FOUR. Dont end your life because of that tiny part of time. Definitely dont end someone elses life too. Four years is a drop in the bucket.
Don’t understand why her parents are crying ….. they got to say I love you to her, they’ll get to visit her, talk on the phone, write letters . Now the families of the deceased let’s see oh right no more I love you’, no more calls, just visits to the cemetery and one sided conversations, no one replying back… I love you too! She took that away from those families and she shall pay by being locked up . That seems fair for the crime she committed, but it’s never going to make the families whole she has shattered their lives …no more I love you’s! I feel nothing for that murderer or her family, nothing !!!!
I thought I was having a rough week. I prayed the lord. I knew my sufferings and pain were nothing compared to what some people have to go through, I wasn’t wrong. Now I learn about the pain this families are going through right now, the girl who selfishly destroyed their lives and her own too. My sufferings are indeed nothing compared to what some people are living right now. Thank you lord, forgive me for my foolishness. God bless the families of those who lost their loved ones and those who are struggling.
Wow I’m from Ohio and I did not even hear about this case. This is so sad how selfish of her to murder two people because she was unhappy, Now she wants to shed a tear? At least she’s able to shed a tear even though it took her almost 4 minutes to do so 🙄 Life is about choices It’s really just that simple 🤷
Can only imagine the fear the boys felt as they were in the vehicle. In one minute, everything is normal and fine, and in the next minute (and for the final minutes of their lives), they’re completely panic-ridden and most probably screaming or begging for their lives. RIP to them and condolences to all their loved ones. I’m glad the court did the right thing and ruled her guilty. She needs to pay for the lives she took.
It is so sad to see all her tears were for herself and not for the victims that lost their lives because of her actions, or their families who have to try to go on without their loved ones, because of the selfish act and choices made by one person. I pray for strength for family and all those who loved the people who died that day. ✨🙏❤️
Let this be a guide to all parents who want to be their kids best friends rather than parents. This girl was never told no. Just ask her classmates at Strongsville High School. Her mother is just as as bad. Father turned a blind eye to what his daughter was up to and her destructive behavior. It was much easier to let her do what she wanted and not parent. Now 2 lives are gone. Nice job mom and dad.
I’m so glad she didn’t kill herself. I hope she lives a long, horrifically painful and torturous life in prison. perusal her face and her parents stupid faces enraged me. Her mother’s “shock” and sadness was really just the perfect example of how we got here. She is the kind of mother (the father yelling ‘we love you baby’ is honestly no better) who has never allowed, let alone enforced consequences on this brat. These parents sat there like THEY are the victims, stunned and confused while on the other side of the room there are parents who buried their children because of their pathetic, selfish, truly creepy and hideous daughter. She better not receive any possibility of parole.
Damn; She threw the book at her. And rightfully so, too. If only all judges ruled with an iron fist like this; justice would prevail more times than you typically see today. It makes me ILL that Casey Anthony had murdered her child and is walking around free of any consequences for what she did to that beautiful little girl. Just the fact that she is still breathing and carrying on with her life is sick in itself; something that she robbed innocent Caylee of at such a young age 🤧😓. It’s a twisted world we live in folks. Prayers to all involved to some day find peace after this tragic incident, and may the deceased rest peacefully. 🙏
How is she sitting there like she’s so devastated and shocked….She was there, she caused it, people are dead and now she’s being held accountable. Talk about delusional, it’s all fun and games until reality pulls you from that selfish and tragic mindset! Two people are dead, any sympathy that’s had is for their family, she doesn’t get to act like she’s so surprised and devastated by the words coming out of the judge’s mouth.
Finally, some fricking Justice! The fact that this girl literally planned to kill her BF for wanting to break up and even got his friend killed as well is horrible and the fact that she planned this all out as well. This girl is getting exactly what she deserves and to anyone who tries defending her: you shouldn’t be allowed to walk around in society
What made this story worse is that there were disgusting people defending her actions. (Edit for those that don’t know what happened) Her bf ended their relationship. She got mad and allegedly planned a route to intentionally crash her car at excessive speeds in order to take their lives. The bf and his friend didn’t survive. She did.
It is always hard to see a young person put away for their lifetime. We want to make excuses for them because we remember being young and stupid. That being said, most of us were not stupid enough to take other’s lives. I was extremely satisfied perusal her be cuffed, I hope she rightfully spends her lifetime behind bars, and I hope God heals the hearts of those she’s hurt a little more each day.
I went back and watched her demanor during her trial, she was so smug throughout. She deserves everything she gets. How dare her Mom sit back there and shake her head. She took the lives of two innocent people for her own selfish reasons and though up to this point that it was a joke. Youre gonna grow up real fast little girl. This is reality! And justice!
While, as a parent…I can empathize with the pain her dad feels. What I don’t understand is how he wants to claim she’s an innocent kid but in the same instance she was all over social media bragging about doing loads of drugs, etc and pretty much running wild. You cannot have it both ways. She was still a minor who absolutely should’ve been under his supervision and he failed at that. It unfortunately has ended in the deaths of two others and driving around, looking for a scene to wreck into…and driving at 100mph isn’t an accident. It’s not an “oops”. That’s purposeful. In my 39 years I don’t think I have ever driven above 75 on an interstate. This girl was flying like a bat out of hell on a road that she assumed would be abandoned and empty. She is fortunate that she did not take MORE lives with her, honestly. This girl was out taking social media attention like a full adult…but now she wants to be labeled as a child. We have all made foolish decisions in our lives. If you say you haven’t…welll…you’re lying. This girl made an extremely selfish and foolish decision and I do think she did it more so for attention than to actually cause the deaths that she did. I think she wanted to cause an accident in order to gain sympathy and ATTENTION. She got it. My condolences do go out to all…in the end…bc there really aren’t any winners, here. I hope that maybe she will use her time behind bars to speak to other young people and maybe she can make a positive impact in that way. She was only sentenced to 15 yrs…and she’ll probably not serve that entire sentence…so she’s still got a chance in this life to turn things around.
Wow just read this story. Three lives ruined for no good reason at all. Obviously the young boys were not responsible at all for their deaths but we need to teach our kids that they don’t need to be in toxic relationships at all and families need to step in where necessary. She was clearly abusing him for years and it seems like nobody stepped up to stop it. This is the result.
My Mom only had to tell us one time, and I mean only ONCE: “If you go to jail, don’t call me.” That kept all four of us in line. We made mistakes of youth, but we drew the line at doing anything that would cause us to go to jail. This taught us to think about our choices before acting on them. It taught us to count up the costs and see if we were willing to pay the price. I’m so grateful for that.
Never seen anyone cry that much without a single tear running down her face. Sad story for sure. When I was 16, 60 years ago, had a girl friend who tried the same thing with me, I couldn’t get hold of the steering wheel or brakes. About 70mph or so I bailed out the passenger door. It was a narrow road with orange groves on each side. We were running out of road quick. It was real sandy but still got beat up pretty good. Had to walk 4 miles home. Never got in a car with her again. Don’t know today how I got so lucky to survived that with black eyes and bruises.
Oh, those poor baby boys. This is devastating, I know this will never help their parents with their loss, but I know it at least makes them happy that justice was served. I wish the girlfriend of my bestfriend who died in a very similar crash, with similar reasons was charged in this manner. She is walking around everyday free with 0 consequences for taking his life. 😢
A short summary: This person had two passengers in her car that morning (her boyfriend and his friend). She wanted to end her relationship with her boyfriend by crashing the vehicle head on into a building w the path pre-rehearsed at 160km/hr (100 MPH). She was unconscious when paramedics arrived, the other two were dead on arrival. She was guilty on 12 different counts, and was sentenced to double life sentences w/ parole at 15 yrs. Sort of reminds me of the opening scene of the movie “Vanilla Sky”.
Parents, teach your kids right from wrong. And understanding the consequences for their actions. I understand that even some parents can’t keep an eye on their kids 24/7 but this was senseless. R.I.P and prayers to the families who lost loved ones. Teach your children well and hope they know from your teachings that they do the right things.
That’s what I call equality and justice. It was reported that after the detective told her that both of her friends died in the crash She was worried that they were going to take her license away. She wasn’t bothered by the fact that she just killed her boyfriend and an acquaintance. She thought that because she was a young female that she could get away with it. Let’s keep pushing the Excelerator to fair and equal. No special treatment, regardless of your sex or race.
What’s crazy is that her boyfriends family, his dad and sister.. they feel sorry for her. They’re angry that their son died but they don’t want her like destroyed either. She got life in prison as her sentence but she will be eligible for parole in 15 years. That’s 32 years old… that’s still so young. Most of her life ahead of her to start over.
I was teaching in an alternative high school before the pandemic. One day after school, a student walked in and nonchalantly mentioned that she killed three people. I was stunned. I asked her what happened. She was cold, completely unconcerned that she killed a mother, and her two daughters. She was going to court the next morning. I said, you’ll go to prison. She shrugged. I asked how. She said she was looking at her phone to find the closest McDonald’s. And quess what, it was just across the street. She drove straight into the car in the intersection. But the worst? She got off with reckless driving because one of the daughters wasn’t wearing a seat belt. She almost laughed when she came back to tell me. The student was maybe 17. She dropped out of school, again. She should have been convicted and gone to prison. I was angry.
I was in a similar toxic relationship with a guy around the same age as the girl and her boyfriend and no matter how bad it is, the best thing you can do is just walk away. It really shows how much she doesn’t care about her own life or the lives of innocent people (the friend in the backseat) that all she considered was the violent means to an end.
this spoiled brat is crying after taking the lives of two young people like she is innocent, she shouldn’t be given any chance of parole for life and she should not be given any compassion which this idiot doesn’t deserve and she should be given life sentence for atleast 50 years and instead only 15 years for taking the life of two young guys? and her parents were saying i love you to their daughter for taking two lives? did they even think about that two young lives and their parents?
My heart aches. As a parent, I would torture myself forever trying to understand where exactly I went so wrong that my child would ever even have such destructive thoughts let alone carry them out. This young adult is a poster child for the decline of society in America and the toxic and destructive influences effecting our most vulnerable.
A lot of ppl are blaming her father, which he could very well have great influence on her lack of accountability and selfishness. But let’s be honest, a lot of our parents indeed teach us the right thing to do. Yet, as kids/teens we still made our own decisions. The wrong ones. I think she is mature enough to make her own decisions, and in this case she chose a detrimental one. Justice is SERVED. I hope the victims family can manage through these tough times.
It’s hard perusal people, especially young people, facing the fact that they’ve just lost years of their lives to prison. I don’t know much about this case, but (unless the sentence is life without parole, unlikely) this woman will likely be released sometime in her late 30s, so she’ll have another chance at rebuilding her life. Make use of the time Mackenzie, and be a better person when you get released.
