Ways To Tighten Your Pregnancy Clothes?

If your maternity jeans are no longer fitting, there are several ways to make them work better. One way is to use a belt to hold them up, wear a longer top to cover the gap at the waist, or roll the waistband down to fit the jeans better. Another option is to convert the jeans into regular jeans and create a pregnancy belly band using an old T-shirt.

To make a maternity pants extender with an elastic hair tie, start with jeans and a T-shirt that fit well before pregnancy. Cut the top off of the T-shirt just, adding a curve for the front of the jeans and using knit with lycra or spandex. The classic “rubber band trick” involves looping a hair tie or elastic band around the belt loop and button, or a maternity belly band or pants extender.

Some tips and tricks to keep maternity jeans from falling include using a tube top or bra to hold the jeans in place, getting two stretch elastic scrunchies to loop through the hole of the pants, and threading a hair band through the opening. You’ll need jeans and a bandeau to do this.

If your maternity jeans are still falling down, try wearing a belt or pulling them up. If they’re still falling down, wear a belt or buy a smaller size. If the jeans are still falling down, try looping a hairband or rubberband through the button hole of your pants and attaching it to the button to give you several inches of belly room. If the jeans are over the belly, fold the band over once so that the top is over your hips.

In summary, converting maternity jeans into regular jeans can help prevent them from falling down. Some tips and tricks include using a belt, wearing a longer top, rolling the waistband down, and converting the jeans to regular jeans.

  • I agree. The end result does not look finished. A piece of denim with a bit of stretch in a matching shade as the jeans attached to the patch of elastic would look much better. Another way is to place the patch in the pocket area and you can use a contrasting fabric, like a ditty floral to sweeten the deal.

  • Yeah I would definitely put the stretchy stuff on the inside of the Jean and then cover with a denim piece maybe there’s a way you can use the original denim piece create the seams just lil shy of meeting the original cut. Thanks for sharing. With some tweaking and fine-tuning I can really see this working

  • She gave a general idea of how to make this adjustment. You can make small additions on either side as well using colors that match. Be creative and hide adjustments even more creatively!!! So, don’t down her suggestions… Just build on them in a way that appeals to what you like!! @miriaml.150 @heidiann2435 and others!!

  • I don’t like it either, especially when you can take a v-cut out of the center loop in a v angle on each side and then stitch it under stitching under and leave it and it’ll just be a v in the back of the pants where the center loop is in the back and that’ll be plenty for you and it’ll look fashionable

  • Not only does the back look ugly and altered, it was way too much work. I just use the Perfect fit buttons to tighten or loosen jeans or pants. No sewing involved. By the time this lady finished this project I could’ve went to the local thrift store and found cheap replacements in a bigger size. Now her jeans are ruined and can’t be fixed if she loses weight. Perfect Fit buttons solve all these problems! I just tightened a 3″ gap in my waistband adding a perfect fit button 3″ farther from the top botton. And my pants that are too tight I added a button 1″ closer which made the waistband looser and more comfortable and when I lose weight I simply remove the back clasp and can take my button off and go back to the original. No cutting or sewing!
