Why is minimalism pleasing?
Minimalism is a popular lifestyle that promotes freedom through ownership, reducing material possessions and stress. It is not just about decluttering your home, but also about creating space for well-being and reducing stress. The ethos of minimalism is “Less is More”, which translates to an internal shift when one let go of the unnecessary, experiencing joy in owning less while feeling more content, clear, and connected. This simplicity has a real beauty and strength in itself.
Why is minimalism so appealing?
The rise of minimalism is attributed to its focus on simplicity, mindfulness, and sustainability. It eliminates clutter, promotes intentionality, and aligns with the eco-friendly ethos. As a result, minimalism has become a popular trend in modern culture. Today, it is embraced as a way of life, a philosophy that many people find satisfaction and liberation in. This trend has been influenced by extensive research and industry updates.
Why do you like minimalist style?
Minimalism is a design style that emphasizes conscious consumption and sustainability, promoting a purpose-driven lifestyle. It has practical benefits such as reduced stress, cost savings, and conservation. Originating in the 1960s and 1970s, it was led by artists like Frank Stella and Donald Judd, who challenged the status quo with simple, observable forms. This minimalist style, known for its clean, geometric shapes and industrial look, set itself apart from Abstract Expressionism. It gained traction among artists and designers, shaping the visual language of modern design, with aesthetic minimalism playing a significant role in this evolution.
Why do I like minimalism so much?
Minimalism offers numerous benefits, including peace of mind, improved health, and a clutter-free environment. A clutter-free environment leads to less stress, clutter, and cleaning, providing more space, money, energy, focus, and creativity. Minimalism also improves health by reducing stress levels and providing extra money in the bank account. A less stressful life benefits both physical and mental health, as it encourages a shift away from the consumerist and comparison culture.
Additionally, minimalism allows for more time and money to be spent on physical health through exercise or mental health through therapy. Overall, minimalism offers numerous positive changes that contribute to overall well-being.
Why is minimalism beautiful?
Minimalism is a design style that emphasizes function, form, and practicality, creating a calming and serene environment. It encourages mindfulness towards clutter and daily habits that prevent accumulation, leading to a less stressful and more efficient way of life. Streamlining a home’s furniture and décor allows for more room and even small spaces to appear larger. Minimalism is adaptable to any style of home, and by focusing on essentials, incorporating a soothing color palette, and surrounding oneself with uncluttered surfaces, a healthy, less chaotic, and aesthetically-pleasing home can be created.
Each piece of furniture and décor is carefully curated with style, form, and function in mind, and high-quality items made from superior materials are purchased. This approach allows for easy mixing and matching of individual furnishings, allowing for sudden bursts of personality. Unique design details, such as atypically-shaped tables, mirrors, or pendant lights, can lend an air of sophistication.
Minimalism is based on clean lines, high-quality functional furniture, a monochromatic color palette, and uncluttered surfaces. To achieve uncluttered surfaces, storage is crucial, and organizational solutions should be created to ensure every item has a home.
Optimal storage solutions include simple, high-quality cabinetry and hardware, neutral color finishes, and natural light. Countertops and flooring should stay within the monochromatic color palette, and wooden tables and chairs can add warmth and dimension to prevent the space from becoming too stark.
Is minimalism a form of OCD?
Obsessive Compulsive Spartanism, also known as Obsessive Decluttering, is a subtype of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) that involves an obsession with clearing an area or house, leading to feelings of unwellness. Unlike hoarding, obsessive decluttering does not have its own entry in the DSM. Symptoms are similar to hoarding, but focus on clearing things out. Obsessive decluttering differs from being tidy in that it manifests in a more extreme manner.
The person experiencing obsessive decluttering believes certain objects negatively affect their life and must be thrown out, even if they are of use. This creates an obsessive-compulsive cycle that is detrimental to one’s life.
Why is minimalism good for ADHD?
Minimalism offers several benefits, including fostering clarity amidst chaos, encouraging mindful consumption, prioritizing and organizing resources, and reducing overwhelm and sensory overload. It helps individuals with ADHD maintain focus and clarity by decluttering their physical spaces, allowing them to harness their creative energy more effectively. Mindful consumption helps reduce overwhelm and sensory overload by being more conscious of what they consume, whether it’s material possessions, information, or relationships. Minimalism also helps individuals prioritize and organize their resources, creating more spaciousness for the things that truly matter.
Why is minimalism luxury?
Minimalist luxury represents a deliberate attempt to reduce superfluous elements and concentrate on the essentials. The spaces are designed with a discerning simplicity, eschewing superfluous embellishments, thereby creating an ambience of serenity that fosters clarity and calmness.
Why are you interested in minimalism?
The benefits of minimalism are increasingly desired today due to the growing complexity of our world. It offers a life with less stress, distraction, freedom, and time, which people are desperately searching for. Proponents of the minimalist lifestyle are making it more accessible and attractive by writing about their experiences online, with bloggers like Leo Babauta, Dave Bruno, Colin Wright, and Tammy Strobel providing advice and inspiration.
The internet has made new lifestyles possible, with many people choosing to make their living online, making minimalism more accessible. Traveling the world becomes easier with a backpack-sized belongings.
Consumerism is still prevalent, but a growing trend of thoughtful people is challenging the falsehood that possessions bring satisfaction. They have tried finding happiness through possessions during the world’s latest economic boom but have been left unfulfilled. As a result, they are seeking happiness and fulfillment in relationships, social causes, and significance.
Why do I crave minimalism?
Minimalism offers a sense of freedom and liberation, allowing individuals to align their lives with their personal values and feel more authentic. This lifestyle provides an escape from the monotonous cycle of consumerism, allowing individuals to pursue a life that feels true. By reducing clutter and simplifying their environments, individuals gain a greater sense of control and order, reducing anxiety and stress.
Minimalism also creates mental space, resulting in a clearer, more focused mind. This connection between external and internal order allows for a sense of lightness and clarity, highlighting the impact of our surroundings on our mental state.
Minimalism also heightened participants’ awareness of their values and what truly mattered in life. This mental space facilitates reflection, mindfulness, and savoring, allowing individuals to focus on their own growth and learn from new insights. The combination of autonomy, competence, mental space, and awareness leads to an increase in positive emotions among the study participants, resulting in feelings of joy, peacefulness, and a general sense of well-being.
Minimalism is not just about physical organization; it can offer a transformative journey towards greater well-being and more meaningful, contented living. Minimalist communities have developed over time, creating spaces and bodies of knowledge that support and empower individuals hoping to make the switch to a minimalist lifestyle.

TODAY’S VIDEO- Hello everybody, today’s video is a more vulnerable video where we discuss together why I love minimalism …
I am trying to be a minimalist!!! I just re-did my living room and got rid of everything I don’t use. I felt good!! going to do one room at a time… but I sell on eBay and scrap metal to make money so always bringing stuff home lol but trying to keep it in one room and one area of the yard. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
I would love to purchase your program. I’m living simple and really going for what I love and how I want my time spent on earth. I’m kinda tired of working FT paying bills. I love making all natural vegan scrubs and planning on selling my products, my husband loves photography and he is working so hard on that as well so we can both enjoy our time together and show our baby how life should be. I’m still practicing minimalism but so far it’s been great! ~Jackie
I’m overwhelmed by my stuff and my desire to cling to objects. It was good to hear why you love minimalism. I do not see myself on travelling adventures but enjoying simple days of peace. That’s my dream. And to read library books sometimes and hug my cat. And inspire my children to live simply in the 21st century. That’s it.
I discovered minimalism and how much I am attracted to it after a emotionally traumatic series of events in a 3 months period last year. Not sure why that is. I also connected it to going vegan. It’s a process. Going through a house you have been in for 9 years. But the more I purge the more I can breath. The more free I feel. The more space I have. The more time I have. I love it and I love your articles 🙂 Thank you for taking the time from your life to share with us!
Thanks for sharing! 💚 I bought a 46l Backpack today cause my son and I are leaving for Thailand in December.I want to travel with handbaggage only and I am so looking forward to it.I am selling everything else. My mom is a sort of a hoarder and it’s stifling! I just read through some of the comments below and there were 2 questions I wanted to ask, both of which were already addressed but want to know about so, Do you wear sunglasses and do you accept gifts? I know glasses are one more thing to keep track of, but you don’t want wrinkles and trust me, they will come! I want to make you a necklace. You could wear it once and re-gift it to someone else and it wouldn’t bother me a bit! Anyway, great article as always and sending you a big hug! Love you tons!!! Tammie
that freedom feeling is setting expectations so low that you will never be dissapointed. minimalist lifestyle while I believe in maximum freedom so do what you want, psychologically you given up in some way and with all aspects one should always confront there inner self about why they feel they can’t operate in certain areas of life or not meeting challenges life brings them and why you stopped going to meet them. Only then can you be truly free if not it’ll always be in the back of your head.
