The text suggests that it is possible to paste an updated Building Plan (BP) over an existing one to swap modules, but the game does not register this feature. If you plan to play for a few hours, placing level 3 modules in valuable spots like labs and purple and yellow science makes sense. The Mod Module Inserter allows you to tag buildings for bots to insert them, making a combo of the two ideal for building without beacons and not needing a million assemblers.
The Teams AI library simplifies the Teams app model by focusing on extension needed rather than protocol required. You can use prebuilt templates and add modules. Productivity modules add a second purple “production bar” to items producing buildings and labs, filling by 4 per crafting cycle for this tier of module. Bots will put modules in newly placed buildings but refuse to put them in existing buildings.
Telegraf is a library that simplifies developing Telegram bots using JavaScript or TypeScript. It allows you to paste a blueprint over existing machines to change recipes and add modules. The three types of modules are Efficiency, Speed, and Productivity.
In summary, modules are essential items used to enhance existing buildings’ capabilities, but they are expensive, require appropriate research, and produce slowly. The most important module for most players is productivity, as it increases output per input. Telegraf also offers a library for developing Telegram bots using JavaScript or TypeScript.
📹 Ep13 ⚙️ Factorio 1.0 The Definitive Guide ⚙️ Productivity and Speed Modules ⚙️ Guide For Players
Welcome to Factorio with JD, I hope this series will become YOUR Definitive guide to Factorio, a game that has sucked up so …
Are beacons safe?
Beacons, by default, communicate “in the clear” and do not encrypt data, making it vulnerable to hacking. A hacker can see the password sent to connect to a beacon and use it, gaining full control over the device and potentially posing a threat to the entire IoT infrastructure. Even if a beacon is secured from remote attacks, it can still be attacked by someone physically removing it from the wall and probing its memory. This is a low-probability event, but if the beacon is controlling a door lock or other sensitive use case, it could be a significant risk. Kontakt. io is working on a solution to make beacons secure.
Why use beacons in Factorio?
The objective of beacons is to enhance production in the latter stages of the game by modifying the configuration of buildings. Nevertheless, the resulting layouts may prove to be less intriguing than initially anticipated. The initial configuration entails the deployment of a maximum number of beacons, with 12 beacons positioned around each assembling machine. This layout has been described by some players as lacking in interest.
What are the disadvantages of beacons?
Proximity marketing is a popular marketing technique that has gained popularity due to its modern, intuitive, efficient, and cost-friendly services. It allows customers to have personalized relationships with their favorite brands, increasing sales, boosting marketing ROI, and achieving excellent results in terms of brand loyalty. Bluetooth beacon-based proximity marketing, established in 2013, is one of the methods used to implement this strategy.
Beacons do not work on their own, tracking movement is not simple, they are not cost-efficient, there are trust and security limitations, Bluetooth is not battery-friendly, and they don’t offer a lot of analyzed data. The main use of proximity marketing is providing targeting messages to customers while they visit a store, but it can also be used in restaurants, museums, and other industries.
Beacon-based proximity marketing requires the use of two devices: a beacon and a mobile phone with enabled Bluetooth technology. While companies and marketers initially expected that beacon prices would drop due to its popularity, this has not happened. The main disadvantages of using beacons for proximity marketing include their lack of functionality, tracking movement, trust and security limitations, battery-friendliness, and lack of analyzed data.
What is the most efficient inserter in Factorio?
The stack inserter is the most efficient, particularly suited for chest-to-chest movement, followed by Red and Yellow. Given that the Blue option is approximately 35 times more expensive, it is outperformed by the other two options, with a less than half the energy efficiency.
How do you fast insert modules in Factorio?
The window permits users to select a building type from the list provided in the left column, and then to choose the module type and tier from the options displayed on the right.
Is Factorio endless?
A map is infinite by default, but its size can be limited by height and width. A new chunk of the map is generated only when needed, similar to other procedurally generated world games. An invisible area of about 3 chunks wide is generated outside the visible chunk area as a preloading mechanism. Enemies may be located inside these invisible chunks, and artillery turrets and wagons can automatically shoot enemy bases within their range. Invisible chunks are also generated if pollution is heavily generated.
Charting removes the fog of war by making a chunk visible, which changes when it is touched by a radar. This can be the player’s internal radar or the radar entity. If a far-away ungenerated chunk is charted, it will be generated along with the invisible 3 chunk radius of the map around it.
How do you equip modules in Factorio?
It should be noted that modules remain in armor even when removed, stored, or dropped. These modules are only operational when the armor is in place and do not undergo any form of recharge or depletion when not equipped. The modules can be placed in the armor grid by right-clicking. It is necessary to conduct research into the technology of each module before it can be crafted.
Why Factorio is a good game?
Factorio is a game that teaches players to solve open-ended problems, which are typically easier to solve than close-ended problems. Gamers are known for their ability to solve clear rules, instructions, and boundaries, but they often struggle with open-ended problems due to uncertainty and unclear objectives. Factorio is closer to open-ended problems on the spectrum, as it is easier to learn and manage.
The game’s tutorial is designed to guide players through the game’s elements step by step, making it more manageable for beginners. Despite the difficulty, Factorio’s neatly built tutorial makes it a satisfying experience for players. Overall, Factorio is a valuable tool for those looking to improve their problem-solving skills.
Is Factorio CPU heavy?
Factorio is not CPU or GPU bound, as memory bandwidth is typically the bottleneck. The developers prioritize game mechanics and sim optimization over graphics, and the game looks good enough for its purpose. However, the game is already CPU heavy, so it’s not possible to imagine its behavior in 3D. The factory size might be smaller for this to be possible. The author is not interested in creating 3D games “just because”, as many games don’t translate properly to 3D. Factorio is popular because its hardcore players create immense factories that usually exceed the limit of any CPU or GPU.
How to use productivity module in Factorio?
The addition of productivity modules results in the appearance of a purple “production bar” adjacent to items utilized for the construction of buildings and laboratories. This bar fills by four units per crafting cycle. Upon reaching a value of 100, an additional output is generated. These modules are utilized to facilitate the production of intermediate products, which cannot be directly placed. In contrast to the other productivity modules, which reduce machine speed by 15 units, Productivity Module 1 has the effect of reducing it by 5 units.
Is productivity module worth it factorio?
The article suggests that using a speed module for more products per second, productivity module for more products per input resource, and efficiency module for more products per watt of energy is recommended. It emphasizes that changing a machine’s energy consumption directly affects the pollution it generates, even when power is produced in a pollution-free way. Factorio offers three types of modules with three tiers of effect, with higher tiers having stronger effects but being more expensive. It also notes that the machine’s properties (speed, energy consumption, and pollution) cannot be reduced below 20% of its original value.

The bots are even cleverer than you think: when you put something in your trash slots that’s needed for construction actually a CONSTRUCTION bot will directly come to you to take the item from you, so it doesn’t have to get taken to storage by a logistics bot first. If you look closely you can see how at 23:05 (right after you dumped the remaining three speed modules in the trash slots) a construction bot starts coming towards you (narrowly missing and then chasing you as you run past), and after the brief switch to map view you can see it at 23:08 again as it flies towards the pumpjacks in the southeast with the speed module that it picked up. Basically your trash slots act like a walking active provider chest. BTW, this even works the other way around, if you have an unfulfilled personal logistics request open and a (non-personal) construction bot deconstructs whatever you are requesting it will directly deposit the item it picked up it into your inventory instead of bringing it to storage. Assuming you are inside the logistics range of the network that the bot belongs to of course. Edit: And the underground trick at the steel smelter actually DID save space, as with the filtered splitter you could have used only one output and would have needed a second splitter for the belt to flame thrower ammo.
No more Flamer fuel for JD. Past-JD did not plug in iron ore into the southern steel smelter. Also, no more cliff explosives because no more steel barrels. And there is the belt spaghetti with the newly moved sulfur and coal lines @28:29 If JD moves the southern end of the sulfur line over 2 tiles east then it would line up with the sulfur belt that feeds onto the bus. Then JD could run the coal belt in the space previously taken up by the southern sulfur belt and run the coal directly without having the belts weave back and forth.
First of all thanks for the useful article. I’ve already learned python basics and now trying to get into automation and web scraping world and while i’m searching on youtube i found your useful website but i found many playlists and i hope if you can tell me which playlist i should start with as a begginer in this world.
OH. MY. GOODNESS. WOW! This is JUST what I’ve been looking for. Holy crap! Alright then, time to automate my job. Will report back in a week. Fu**. Mind blown. So easy. There are so many time consuming tasks that I do everyday that are super repetitive and I feel like a dumb monkey pushing a button, but it’s complex enough that I’m the “expert.” 😱🤩🤯
Hello, I think playwright has some pre-installation dependecies. I could not execute codegen generated code in VSCode due to library dependency problems. When i dig into stackover flow lot of questions raised to handle this library properly. Could you tell us how do you handle this issues? i mean “playwright.sync_api” could not resolved.
Thank you, I really enjoy how you explain and walk through the steps. I am curious about the password part tho. Is there a better security method for the username password part? I would hate to have this script to be sitting there on my desktop at work. Just wondering what’s the best security practice for that 😊
is there code that can automate an excel sheet that needs checking and updating based off latest available data from a number of other spreadsheets? e.g. there is an item code which can be used to lookup different types of information from other sheets, the item code will be present in each other sheet so all that it needs to do is lookup that item code and then input the latest data for that code into my desired spreadsheet. There is also a cell that needs to return a list of “countries” that item code is available in, im unsure where to start or how to go about this
How can you build in random pauses intervals or “mouse movements” to avoid triggering scrape detection? This is definitely a tool I would like to incorporate because I cannot get an API to some sites, but pull 18 reports in a month basis that I would love to just automate. I just don’t want to trigger anything by “navigating” the site quicker than a fast human.
I was wondering if someone could give me a few pointers with a project with a few points which are covered in this article. I currently work with a web browser system similar to the one John is using within this article. I’m currently trying to create an upload script, so I have all my data within an excel sheet and then just need to go through the steps to upload it to the web browsing system. Text boxes I’m okay with, however part of the web browser which I’m using I’ve come across a table. So it click to add a ‘new row’ however, it then doesn’t seem to pick up any of the fields within the table. If someone could give me a pointer, it would be much appreciated 🙂
I dont know if you can help me with something here but when you were at the step of putting login id and pass, how did you got the value? I thought for auto-fill you need to signed in, but codegen took me to a chromium page where i could not access the sign in or this kind of functionalities. so how did you get the login and pass, and if i want to put it by code, can you to tell me what that would be? I mean how to put key and pass here on code. Thanks for the article. It really got me up from the phone to do this
I have automated my lottery numbers with Python and AI (Keras model). All i have to do, is to take last week lottery numbers and put them into my spreadsheet. Then Python run the AI script and it is working perfect. None of the predicted numbers are drawn in the lottery! So I know that lottery is working and so is mine Python script. 😀
Good content as always, Thanks for that fantastic knowledge base articles, bro. I learn many things from your articles about scraping with python, Now I’m learning API web scraping. Make or suggest some good articles about web scraping through API. using python or making a article with complete detail. Thank You, John
crazy stuff, nice! 🙂 I’m pretty new to python & co and I’m asking myself, how could i make this work with some variables, let’s say from a csv file..? (like I have a csv file with 50 different discount codes and values. now, I have to manualy take all this steps you automated just with some different values for every coupon) it would be amazing if I just could automate this like you did in the article, but with variable inputs… sorry, my english is pretty bad, but maybe you got what I mean 😉
