To create a traditional spiral tie-dye pattern, hold your garment with two fingers and twirl it tightly until it forms a tight knot. Secure the twirl with rubber bands and apply a bleach mixture. You can also use a string to tie it up. Tie-dyeing denim is a simple and effective method, but it requires proper preparation. First, select a 100% cotton denim fabric for best results. Bleach tie-dyeing is a technique that removes the color from an item, rather than adding it like tie-dying with color. It can be used to fade dark-colored materials like denim.
To create a unique look, pour 3 quarts of bleach and 3 quarts of water into a plastic container. Use rubber or plastic gloves to place the shirt in the bleach mixture. Fill a bucket or sink with hot water and add the bleach (about 2 parts water, 1 part bleach). Fill the dye-bath with warm water to dilute the bleach slightly.
Bleaching denim is a fun and customizable way to give jeans a unique look. Start by washing the jeans and dabbing them dry. Make a 50/50 bleach and water solution and use it to create a unique, customized look.

What they don’t tell you is the full strength bleach will degrade the fabric and it will begin to eat holes in it in a couple months. I’ve done some work with bleach and it’s happened to me. You need to dilute it 50/50 with water. Ritt Dye makes color remover that works just as well without the damage to the fabric.
I actually cant believe it…a 5 m craft article where almost all of them are legit… wth is going on?? I also have an addition to this..I made a really cool Crow shirt for halloween .. using a cardboard crow which I put over a black shirt and used 3 different ratios of bleach, bleach water (For different shades) and it actually worked and I still have it and wear it today. (When doing this, use cardboard or something INSIDE a shirt because the bleach Will go through to the back/other side if you dont put something there to stop that., ie=those designs where they placed something on the front, and sprayed it, if there isnt something underneath, the bleach mix will soak down and make funky marks on the other side. if you dont care, fine, but I’d put something inside
These are really cool designs/ideas, I like it A LOT!!! VERY CREATIVE INDEED!!! ⚠The only thing I would do beyond what you have done is explain to the audience that bleach is a hazardous substance and should be handled with care and depending on the age of children, some parental supervision should be considered as to need. ⚠Advise the artists to use old, worn, basically unwanted clothes to do their art in, so if bleach gets on the clothing, it won’t ruin aqsomething liked. Also, wear safety glasses and gloves if possible. ⚠Work in a well ventilated area, but preferably outside, as the bleach can and might spew caustic particles in the air around us ⚠I would not recommend using straight bleach, more like one to one parts water and bleach, as bleach is very caustic and can and will deteriorate clothing, even leaving holes, if left too long without rinsing off,and ever material type will have a different reaction than others, especially as to the amount of time one has before it begins deteriorating the clothing. Even doing it half and half one still needs to be very cautious and rinse extremely well multiple times when done with the color change as soon as one can, then wash and dry, so the clothing will stay as close to original strength as possible.
Just remember to wash the items thoroughly before you first wear them because that’s the part they don’t show in this article and you’ll get some silly that’ll say “hey I bleached it, it is done” and put it on instead of wash it first and then put it on. If it doesn’t get a good wash…it will irritate the skin.

Thank you ever so much for sharing your creativity and enthusiasm for life. That was truely a ton of ideas. Ya put a smile on my face that will last for weeks. An idea to share: the bleached areas can be accentuated with fabric paints. The lighter resuting area will give paints a better base for opaqueness than they had on the dark substrate. For example, with the bleached hearts, you can make a smaller heart stamp to have more than two colours. The stamps work great for control and to speed up working a exact design. I plan to return to your website for it’s “happy pills” and great ideas.
So this is proof that 5 minute craft can make quality articles without it being straight up trash yet they choose not to! Remember that everybody they can do it they just choose not to. I just find it hilarious that they keep doing it knowing that they will get far more enjoyment and reaction out of people by doing better articles this entire article was legit. I have tried some of these crafts but no every other article I find is straight garbage do you hear me proven wrong DIY garbage!
I could honestly rip most of these examples to shreds, but I will hold back. At least it’s a article that covers literally ONLY the titled category and I’m proud. One thing I absolutely cannot let by, though, is that for a LOT of these using only bleach, you HAVE to dilute it or it eats right through the fabric and you just ruin clothes. You guys know that it’s not upcycling a lot of the time, it’s things people buy because they like and are looking for ideas so that it fits their aesthetic better in detail. A little bit of individuality. Bleach safely, my friends.

The problem I have with using such strong bleach is it will dissolve the fabric. Eventually, all that clothing will disintegrate. I have accidentally spilled a much milder bleach on my clothes, and over time it ate holes through them. So if you want to wear shredded clothing full of holes, do as this article shows.
The one with the twigs & splatter paint technique was so great. Can’t believe I had not seen any1 doing something like that b4,although I’ve seen so many examples of other similar items being used 2 create certain effects w/paint/colors throughout the yrs.on art( leaves, flowers,& stamp/sponges,cork,cookie cutter,& cardboard/paper & tape cut outs,& a lot of other stuff used on paper, canvas,or reg.fabric u don’t wear mostly)..I think nearly all the ideas were cool, but a few had me fairly stunned & amazed by how creative & good they are. So anyways, thank u 4 making this & keep the unique & incredible ideas a coming!
In the late 80s, I used bleach on some jet black boot-cut Levi’s and a black cotton summer shirt with a banded collar and full- length tuxedo pleats. I wanted leopard print, but went with artistic splotches about the same size when I realized I’d have to make a stencil. Haha But back in the day, I got more compliments on that outfit than anything else I ever wore. We had some good times, didn’t we bleach!
Some of these were a bit cringe worthy but also the title was misleading as some of these weren’t bleach but fabric paint. They also showed the same design twice… some cool ideas that I think could be taken to the next level. I think the leggings were my favorite. The cooling rack one just had me cracking up for some reason 🤣
