How To Take Out The Child Safety Cap Insert?

Childproof bottles are no longer a source of stress for children, but they can still be difficult to open. To remove these caps, simply pop the outer cap off and use construction glue or hot glue inside the outer cap. Then run two screws through both caps to create a solid seal.

Childless DIYer Kyle provides a simple solution using a thumbtack, a spoon, and nail clippers to disarm difficult-to-open bottles of three varieties: squeeze and turn, squeeze and twist, and squeeze and turn. Child-proof caps prevent children from accessing potentially dangerous substances like medications or household chemicals. To open these bottles, press down to turn the inner cap by pressing down. Use a hack saw, coping saw, or sharp knife with a serrated blade to make a space between the caps and insert a toothpick as far as it will go.

To make child safety caps easy to open, insert the handle of a spoon or butter knife between the ridges of the cap and apply gentle upward pressure. Warm the cap by placing the bottle in warm water for a few minutes. Use a cloth or rubber to remove the cap. Most caps that you squeeze and rotate have a small flange on the inside of the rim that can be nipped off with wire-cutters or a screwdriver.

In summary, childproof caps can be removed using various methods, such as using a spoon or butter knife, warming the cap in warm water, or using a screwdriver. These methods can help prevent children from accessing potentially dangerous substances and make opening bottles easier.

  • I got mine removed about a week ago. My doctor is extremely good at Nexplanon. It took about 3-5 minutes from the numbing medicine to him wrapping me up. It is uncomfortable, but when it is done right it is not painful. I had way to many issues being on it though, so I have no intention of ever getting another rod in my arm
