The Master Controller (MC) mod allows teens and elders to wear adult clothing in Sims 4 Studio. However, the mod comes with the cost of randomly changing outfits. To stop messages that appear every time a sim’s outfit is changed by this mod, click on City Hall or any Computer > NRaas > Dresser > Check.
The mod also has an option to repair CC that is setup incorrectly, which can be done by removing or repairing the clothing. However, when moving a sim with the MC mod, the outfits still wear randomly generated clothes. To fix this issue, go into Master Controller’s Stylist mode and change the shirt, pants, accessories, or hair, or even try to change outfit categories. The whole outfit will stay.
To remove clothing from a “wrong” category, use MC>> Basic>>Remove Outfit (you’ll need the Cheats module). You can also take the correct outfit from other sim using MC>>.
It sounds like you may have run Fix Invisible Sims with DebugEnabler. If it changed outfits, their outfits were corrupt and fixed them. Removing all outfits from a Sim will nearly always corrupt them beyond any ability to recover them. With MC, you could delete the sim’s broken career outfit and hope that the game will generate a new one the next time the sim goes to work.
The mod is automated alteration of the outfits of all sims in town, allowing you to add accessories, body hair, makeup, and new hair to all sims. I use MC to allow me to use ANY items in CAS for any outfit (I don’t understand EA’s useless limitations here).

PLEASE NOTE: If I have a setting you do NOT have while I’m going through the list, that’s because you’re missing one of the modules I have! 👉 EDIT 9/21/21: A lot of people have been mentioning that, when importing my settings, their game crashes to a black screen. THIS IS BECAUSE OF NRAAS CUPCAKE. I discovered if you do not currently have the Deliciously Indulgent Bakery in your game, it will instantly crash to your desktop. I’d recommend avoiding NRAAS Cupcake, as I believe you can still import my settings no problem without it.
I just downloaded this mod after playing 9 years without it. Recently I played the game for longer than usual. My sims had a kid later into the game and just when the kid started going to school, I noticed he had no friends.. because he was the only child in the whole Sunset Valley and the townies were dying of old age!
nraas master controller, error trap, overwatch and story progression paired with the smooth patch released this year makes a buttery smooth experience. although if you’re experiencing lag, it might be from adding a mod when you already have cache built up which will confuse the game slightly, so deleting the cache from the game files should help 🙂 it won’t affect your saves either
played sims 3 since 2013. when sims 4 came out i played that a bit, maybe a few months, then went back to sims 3. i found mods and cc and nraas and i haven’t played without it since. i always love finding ways to advance my game and gameplay so i love that more and more people are getting back into doing these types of sims articles.
Just redownloaded Sims 3 for the first time in seven years and it’s like the very first time (I’m so sorry Sims 3, 4 isn’t even that good). 17:43 I’m pretty sure that unmodded vampires do age, but at a rate far slower than human sims (5x as slow iirc). Nraas story progression default settings stops them from ageing entirely, and if you turn aging on again they’ll age 5 times as slow as human sims. I think there is a setting in Nraas Retuner that lets you shorten their lifespan to human, but I’m not sure exactly how to find it. There’s probably also a mod out there that has the same effect
I’ve went back to Sims 3 after playing Sims 4 for 5 years. I got Sims 3 in a cheap game shop for £5 and I played for 3 years and had all the packs. Then I moved and I didn’t have them anymore. Now I’m going to charity shops and getting all the games back because the game is so much more fun. I play with nraas mods too and it’s so much more fun than Sims 4
thank you for this article!! my boyfriend and i have started getting into sims 3 again and our sim is finally married and has his first child, but because we took a bit and because we have quite long lifespans, sims have started dying from old age or aging up in general and we’re worried about friends and other relationships for our future children. it seems like the NRAAS Story Progression mod is EXCELLENT, but it was so in depth I couldn’t figure it out. so i’m really thankful for this article!
i played nrass with the default settings and then moved it down to snail speed and its honestly doesn’t seem that great to me. it seems like sims just randomly get together and have kids and move and shit but its not actually following any reason. also the way they levelled skills was super fast and random. not to mention that because all the random hooking up and moving and shit i couldn’t get a partner for my sim. even if i got one to be a romantic interest they would get with someone else before i could get in a relationship. gonna watch this article to try and see if i can make it work better because there is so much shit in that mod, but i honestly probably wont use it. everyone complains that the ea story progression is so bad because the town doesn’t “feel alive” and the sims are “just there to be of service to my family”, and that may be true, but it makes playing my family a lot more fun.

So grateful for this article but I’m in need of a help. I remember downloading this mod and in the first sims day, I already got notifications of what the town were doing (like who are flirting with who, who will have children and etc) but today I downloaded, changed some stuff now that I know better what this mod can do and nothing appeared. Idk if I had to wait for more sims day to this mod get on the track but I’m afraid I did something wrong lol

One thing i recommend if you want some npc sims for one of you sims, add not active family on flirt dissalowed castes for that sim. As the Flirt scenario on SP is too aggresive to push inactive sims together, even more time i got problem when it fire scenario for inactive sims go steady, when one of them was with my sim on the date (otherwise you need cheat and remove that relationship by Master Controller).
Just started playing Sims 3 a couple months back. I have such a hard time sticking to one family, lol. And I have like four I swap between. The nraas mod was suggested to me but the website seemed to be on expert mode and so I slowly backed away having only downloaded master controller to set my adult sims up as more than blank slates with no skills. That was a particularly large rich family I wanted to make and mostly leave unplayed but played sometimes. And I love the Sim Skill randomizer in Master Controller. It’s perfect for adult parents and elders who just came out of CAS, makes it feel like they lived a life. But I was nervous about adding story progression to the game and accidentally triggering population things I didn’t want it on my primary families. After your article I feel like I could tweak my Sims game in a way that is satisfying to me. You have demystified the mod.
I’m literally in love with all the sims games, I recently started to buy some sims 2 packs, I have all the sims 3 packs (not all stuff packs) and I have quite a few sims 4 packs. I have a gaming laptop but it’s not the best, it’s not like a gaming computer so my game really lags with all my mods (for sims 4) I don’t have any for sims 3 but I really want the NRAAS mod so bad for sims 3
Hello, I have a question about the way the non-active sims acts… I took all modules because I thought that would make them more active and do everything without me having to do anything, but it didn’t do what I thought at all. Now they gain skills and get promoted and that’s cool but, appart from that, they just don’t stop their love affairs their entire life ! They’re supposed to be able to do ANYTHING but their only focus is with love affairs ! They focus so much on that stuff that none of them gain any social group thing anymore and it’s the same with occult sims, none of them are becoming one even though it is supposed to happen (they even stopped becoming mermaids while they still should !). They only care about getting in love and breaking up just as quickly. Oh, and they just don’t stop buying houses. I find that extremely frustrating, especially since families who shouldn’t break up end up doing so the moment I start a new game. For example the Goth family in Sunset valley, when I start a new game they will break up just one or two days after the start of the game ! That is NOT supposed to happen since they’re supposed to be married and happy and I find that extremely annoying. Is there a way to change that ? Or at least make it so love affairs is not the ONLY damn thing on their mind ! And I haven’t even talked about another thing that just frustrates me as well… When the rich family (I don’t know its english name) dies, the boy now adult had already left the mansion and is now living in a poor little house when he’s supposed to live in a palace.

Also im looking for a mod that allows teen pregnancy (teen-adult as well) and I’ve tried to set everything in SP as you did (in this particular teen-adult case) but nothing seems changed for my sims…there is no “romantic” interactions for them 🙁 maybe someone have any advice?
Lol this is an extremely late comment and kind of irrelevant haha but it’s about what you said at 29:21: ‘in the United States at least, you have to be at least 18 years old to get married’. This is true, for two adults. But if the two people that want to marry are an adult and a minor, it becomes more well, fucked up. ‘Within the United States, each state, territory and federal district sets the marriage age in its jurisdiction.’ Out of the 50 states, there’s only 5 states which have banned underage marriages with no exceptions (you’re not 18, no marriage). There’s also 15 states in America with NO minimum age requirement, as in, a minor can marry an adult or two minors could marry each other, regardless of any of the minors’ ages. Also, every state allows child marriage (except the 5 I mentioned) if ‘exceptional circumstances apply’. These ‘exceptional circumstances’ include: — consent of a court clerk or judge (sometimes the consent of a superior court judge, rather than a local judge, is required) — consent of the parents or legal guardians of the minor — if one of the parties is pregnant — if the minor has given birth to a child — if the minor is emancipated. These circumstances really aren’t that exceptional and can be achieved quite readily by the people that prey on minors and/ or uneducated minors who may want to get married for other reasons, like they’re pregnant/ have had a kid already. The consent of the parent can also be a scary one, since a mother/ father could condone marriage between a 16 year old and a 21 year old, which, even if the age of consent in that state is 16, is still a very predatory relationship legally, as one party is a minor and the other an adult, but also emotionally, since a 16 year old has not undergone the same neurological development or had the same life experiences as the 21 year old.
When I go onto my story progression>general>friendships>celebrities I don’t see the options for disallowing false rumours n all the rest, can someone give me a hint to what I’m missing as I get v frustrated when it comes to having more than half my town full of celebrities. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have an issue, whenever I start the mod and import settings, I got stuck on a random place, can’t move my camera, even if i click on sim’s portrait I will go to them but if I click anything or try to move then I will be back at this random place and cant do anything to see my sims. and if I reset the options I have an issue that I cant get the walls down or up to see more of my house with page up,down or my mouse, just impossible 🙁
Having major issues with no one in my town breaking up or divorcing. Everyone is married and continues to pop out children. How do I raise the chances of breakups? I see everyone getting them on articles I watch, I haven’t had a single breakup. It sucks being single having no one to even try to get with. Rip my sims love life 😂
I was told to install Story Progression to get rid of homeless Sims and to stop the game from randomly generating them. How do I keep the game from generating them, yet not completely enable Story Progression? If I get rid of the generated homeless Sims at the beginning and turn off SP, will the game randomly generate them after that? I was looking into the options I would have to disable and it looks like quite a lot.
Hello I noticed that some of these modules are whole game controllers for NPCs as well. So in the background several modules are working along side the game’s own AI, on a hundred NPCs and your character as well. Doesn’t that mean that the Nraas modules also add to processing lag to the game? Is there a Nraas that handles memory handling, or ways to choose who in the population to work on?
I didn’t install the Careers module but I imported your settings, and some of the sims in my town are getting careers that I’ve never heard of??? One is the Playground Monitor career, which forums are telling me is part of the Careers mod. My household cannot join these careers. I’m not sure what to do :/
Hey there, thanks for the article. I have a question… I am not interested in micromanaging or necessarily “changing” a lot of values to force stuff. I only want mods that kinda fix bugs and possibly make the lives of the non-active sims more realistic and/or “active”. It sounds like Story progression and the personality modules will do that.. but for instance, I didn’t get the Money one because I have no interest in tweaking that stuff. Am I interpreting that correctly then? Are any of the mods described here ones that require a lot of micromanaging/setting of things manually? (besides Money) I wanna live in a simulated world where I just control my person and let interesting stuff happen around me automatically, not necessarily going in and creating a full town of bots where I’m micromanaging the interactions, money, etc and whatnot (I know many Sims players like that, and that’s cool, just not my thing!) Thanks again.
Please HELP. Did not find an answer to this question. I installed the SP mod (with modules you mentioned) in a city that I have been playing in for a long time. I didn’t have a popup asking if I want to apply SP and mod didn’t categorise all citizens. So, now my “Caste options” have only two options: (Add New Caste) and (Remove Caste). No Adults, Teenagers, Males, Females etc. Does it work only if I start a new game in the new town?
I am confused about something. If you do NOT have a whole family of 4 – 8 people does it make sense to bother yet with this? If I am starting a brand new game, with just my one Young Adult sim looking for a job etc. does it make sense to have everything else going on? Can you start story progression at any time, or is it just at the beginning of the game?
Thank you for this article, it has been very helpful. I have had Nraas SP in my game before, but removed it because I found it all rather confusing. Your article has prompted me to have another go. I am using your settings, for now, but when I have gotten the hang of things and tweaked things a little to my own specifications, I will save my own settings and use them in all future games. At present I am testing things out in Monte Vista, a world I have never played before, so it is all a new experience for me, almost like playing the game for the first time. I’ve literally got to a point where I don’t want to play the game anymore because of how many people populate the game like 200 and they just come back, even if I set the population limit which is for residents only. I have really good computer specs but the game is a stuttery freezy mess Edit: Spent like $200 on this game just to have it crap out every second, I downloaded story progression to stop how many people populated the world. And somehow it doesn’t matter in the slightest. I use all the mods to help stuttering yet it doesn’t really help, I barely use CC so it’s not a CC issue
