Is Megaman Zero in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Zero, a character in the Super Smash Bros. series, is a cold-blooded and ruthless killing machine. However, beneath his hardened exterior lies a caring young man who is protective of his fellow Maverick Hunters, particularly his best friend X. Zero shares a special relationship with X, acting as a mentor and helping him reach his full potential. As X becomes stronger, Zero’s respect for him grows, but he still acts as his voice of reason and keeps him grounded.

Zero was created by Dr. Wily as his most advanced robot yet, but an error in his cognitive programming turned him violent and insubordinate. He was sealed in a capsule and awakened in the early 22nd century when Reploids discovered his capsule. Once awakened, Zero destroyed Reploids and intruders, earning him the label of a Maverick.

Zero’s violent actions attracted the attention of 17th Elite Unit commander Sigma, who challenged him to a 1-on-1 fight. Despite initially winning the upper hand, he is ultimately defeated when he experiences great pain after a gem on his head glows with a “W” symbol. Sigma shatters the crystal but inadvertently infects him with Zero’s Maverick Virus, and Zero awakens with no memory of his previous actions. After careful observation and surveillance, he is recruited into the Maverick Hunters.

    • Sonic normally: Gotta go fast! Sonic with bunny ears: Gotta go even faster! Sonic with bunny ears and Monado in Speed mode: Gotta go extremely fast!! Sonic with bunny ears, monado in speed mode and 12 shots of espresso: B*tch, where’s the bathroom?! Gotta sh*t fast! SUPER Sonic w/ bunny ears, speed monado and 12 espressos: FUUUUUU- *explodes*

    • You may be wondering if this is too weird for Kazuya. Dude has used his dad as a human shield against his evil demon twin, thrown in volcanos multiple times, and shot into space on a rocket, literally, tied onto a rocket. Being launched at incredible speeds with a crew of weirdos is entirely an experience Kazuya’s familiar with. This is definitely Tekken levels of weird. If anything, he feels at home.

    • Give sonic bunny ears, 20 shots of expresso, 5 shots of simple syrup, 3 shots of honey, speed mode monado, a super star and make him stand on boost tracks continuously. That would be a lot of energy. Edit: more stuff: blj, 63e115 chili dogs, 7,589,000,000 tons of cocaine, 28e6 shots of gin, 93e6642 cans of monster energy, 23e774 full bottles of vodka and enough super emeralds from multiple dimensions to fill hermione’s infinite bag.

    • Sephiroth: Any last words? Captain Falcon: Yeah. Two words; Shot gun! Shot gun, damn it! Grif: (offscreen) Oh, shot gun! That’s my cue! Sephiroth: Wait. What are you planning? hears warthog noise What is that noise? Do I hear a- warthog comes out of nowhere revealing Grif, Sarge, and Simmons as Captain Falcon dodges as the RvB warthog theme plays CAR?!

    • Shulk: I’m sure Corrin won’t mind if we use his swo- oh … Kazuya: What’s wrong Shulk? Shulk: I had a vision … we need to revive Corrin in a specific manner or else a lobster dressed up as a samurai will beat me up. Kazuya: Fear not … I’ll kill him. Shulk: I think he might be be Corrin’s brother. Kazuya: When you’ve attempted to murder your father, son, wife, step-brother and grandfather you begin to stop asking questions about family values and dump their unconscious bodies into a volcano. Sonic: … How did this guy make it into Smash?

    • I was somewhat expecting the ship they were in to do some kind of Back to the Future thing Also, how did the ship handle going from stationary to what looked like lightspeed in under a second? Theres no way it would still be in one piece by the end of the race Side note, I hope the next revival is Joker. It would be interesting to have all the smash fighters meet Joker’s friends. I especially want to see Inkling meet Futaba

    • I wonder what they are going to do with the Fire Emblem characters? There’s no extra lives in the games. In many of them, if someone loses all their health, they are dead for good (which is super annoying but at least the more modern ones has the characters just retreat for the rest of the battle (unless you have the permadeath option on) and in one game there is another option that has the person just retreat for a turn then come back into the battle).

    • I actually like what you did with the roster filling in the spots of the characters that were revived coloring Them in and leaving the ones that we have not revived yet grayed out I really want you to do this from now on showing which fighters we have left to revive and which ones are revive because it’s getting very confusing

    • It is a very good set of moves Bro, Zero has everything to enter Smash especially with his very iconic moves like the other fighters, in my case I always wondered since Super Smash Bros 4 What Zero’s moves could have been like for that Smash, I always imagined him grabbing. his opponents with the “Chain Rod” from “Mega Man Zero 2” I think it would be something like the Simon/Richter whip, fast and strong but only at the tip as it looks somewhat sharp at the tip of the “Chain Rod” while it would have the physics like Young Link’s hook can be used in the air to cause an impact and mark territory counting on the grip as well, of course.

    • While the mod is pretty cool, i think if your going to use the MegaMan Zero, Zero character it should use more move sets from the MMZ or another fighting game SNK vs Street fighter, like the forward smash is a great example, it should be when he is charging his saber to set a big burst of energy form his saber to do massive damage, or for his neutral air, the first attack can be a slash and then after pressing it again Zero can do a another attack to spin in the air again. Again i love that MMZ Zero is a playable modded character but it should be more closer to the MMZ era instead of the MMX era.

    • Don’t understand why Zero has such high knockback on a lot of moves here. This feels less like zero and not only that a load of the moves are from X zero which makes no sense since the model is Z Zero. Where is Z knuckle, Recoil rod, shield boomerang, the combo trees, the EX skills, the charged Z saber attack? Where is teh iconic dash that creates mirages and the chain rod? Perhaps it would be more forgable if Zero was made like a combo heavy character since Zero in his series is super combo heavy so the large amount of knockback makes no sense.

    • I kinda think his nuetral air should be rolling slash/kuuenzan and down air be tripple rod and it behaves like links down air and the nuetral special charge and shoot behave like mii gunner and samus nuetral b another thing he can grap oponents like link did using the chain (i forgot the name but its in mega man zero 2) for his final smash can be that one attack omega/zero used (x5 for zero) (mmz3 and zx for omega/model o) either way its cool that zero from the zero series is playable

    • I actually have a lot of criticisms to make here. Will try to be brief. This is Mega Man Zero. Not Mega Man X Zero. A lot of the moves from Zero from the X series do not exist for Zero from the Zero series. Ensuizan being an example for it. Zero performs a rolling slash as an aerial attack as well as a dash attack. You have a lot of EX Skills Zero learns from his enemies in the Zero series you could adapt into the moveset that resemble moves from X5 and prior. This Zero doesn’t carry a Z Buster, (which I find stupid, mind you), he instead carries a Buster Shot sidearm that doesn’t do what you have him do here. His sword seems inappropriately sized for the reach he’s supposed to have. Furthermore, this comment has been made before, but Zero from Mega Man Zero is not entirely about the Z Saber. He has other sub weapons he can use in his moveset that I don’t see implemented here. You’re using Marth as a base model, right? This leaves me unsatisfied, but hopeful that you’ll look at your source material and polish what you have. If you wanted moves taken directly from Mega Man X, you should use the Assist Trophy model Smash Ultimate already has implemented.

    • Would it be possible to get rid of his shield and replace it with mmz shield where he can walk with the shield, only blocking what hits the shield (like that one item that does the same thing) Or replace shield with the dash? I feel like having mmx/z dashes in ultimate would be insanely, insanely hype

    • …i just had a really stupid custom move option that i think no one in their right mind should program. Zero with x6’s version of enzuisan, complete with becoming invincible if the move interrupted. If you put any items on the field, this immediately would cancel your attack and basically make you unkillable

    • YES YEEEEEEES edit: IMO since this is Zero Zero not X Zero his moves should be based of his ex skills which are essentially the same as his X moves but they have tweaks that make them more versatile. Plus counter moves are lame for a character with an aggressive toolbox (his various weapons in the Zero games) play style.
