  • ‘Unions’ should be the employer. They should be providing the employer with reasons why their people should be their workers – better training, more product knowledge, etc. Labor and management should not be in conflict, they should be partners working toward the same goal not competitors working to maximize themselves.

  • Personally if you have a strong EMPOWERED Human Resources(HR) team, there is no need for a Union. The HR team is supposed to be the balance of employees and leaders. HR has it’s hands in everything, yet they’re often perceived as proverbial “bad guys” from both sides depending on the circumstances. In reality they’re there to make sure everything is right and just. Employees should be able to go to their management team and if something doesn’t happen then go to their HR team. The HR team is supposed to figure out with management what is feasible fix to the problem. Businesses need to start listening to their employees and taking care of them. When you take care of your employees they will then turn around and take care of the customers/clients/business/etc. Employee engagement usually goes hand in hand with productivity and efficiency.
