Has Kasie Hunt Returned From Her Maternity Leave?

CNN anchor and chief national affairs analyst Kasie Hunt and husband Matthew Mario Rivera welcomed their second child, Grey Hunt Rivera, last week. The couple welcomed their daughter at home after just 13 minutes of sudden labor. Hunt returned from family leave to her show on Sunday night, calling it a “global embarrassment” that the U.S. has no law mandating paid leave. Hunt explained that she planned to have her daughter.

CNN Newsroom will be led by Jim Acosta, followed by “News Central” and “The Bulletin with Pamela Brown”. Hunt announced her second child, Grey Hunt Rivera, earlier than expected. She married NBC News producer Matt Rivera on May 6, 2017, and gave birth to her first child in September 2019. In March 2023, she gave birth to her second child, a girl.

Hunt announced the news of her four-month maternity leave during a broadcast on Friday. Her tweet, “I’m eight months pregnant?”, quickly gained support from users and the journalism community. Hunt and Rivera are already parents to son Mars Hunt, 3½.

Kasie Sue Hunt, an American political correspondent for CNN and host of CNN This Morning with Kasie Hunt, is not pregnant, but there are strong rumors that claim she is expecting a baby. Wolf Blitzer will anchor the hour until Hunt returns from maternity leave. The hour will be anchored by Hunt in DC and produced by Wolf Blitzer.

In November 2024, Hunt discussed how the election will transform the electorate and how Donald Trump can still seize back the momentum. MSNBC anchor Kasie Hunt returned from family leave to her show, calling it a “global embarrassment” that the U.S. has no law mandating paid leave.

  • The Cause is McCarthy and his GOP comrades who want to cancel Cheney. The effect will be that when they have to vote in the House, that there will be two factions, those that follow Trump and those that follow Cheney and the conservative GOP that do NOT follow Trump. So when they’ve been voting along party lines on legislation, 210 to 200, if the Cheney faction starts to vote AGAINST the TRUMP faction, the votes could be 310 to 100. McCarthy won’t have much power then, nor the GOP.

  • if the republican leaders in the senate and house and elsewhere had called out trump’s lie and call to insurrection unanimously straight after 6 jan – trump could have been easily sidelined – so l graham missed his chance to stand up and call the truth – instead he went to kiss trashy trump’s ring shameless

  • May the Lord give her strenght and continue telling the TRUTH. GOP was not on her side but Americans who love their DEMOCRACY and freedom will. I hope the Americans will find strenght and courage and will find peace for the sake of their country. They have to start thinking about the future of the next generation and leave Trump behind.

  • Liz Cheney & Rep. Sean Maloney is a breathe of fresh air to me. Liz for standing up to her party & not backing down to change her beliefs. Rep Maloney I’ve not seen or heard his opinions a lot but I’m impressed he has respect for another colleague even if she’s not in his party. Maybe we really don’t need parties but people who care about people & color red, green, white or black shouldn’t matter. We definitely don’t see this often. Maybe 1 out 10 does this but sadly it should be 9-10 it’s a disgrace how our Congress is being run!!! I don’t know how they lay their heads on their pillows at pm, I really don’t. I pray every night that they figure this out because it’s not looking to promising for our country. Don’t know what’s causing all of it but we all need a reality check! I as you know who caused all this madness & continue on a daily basis to try more & more each day. Before it’s to late which really might be right around the corner. I hope each day the subpoenas are just around the corner. God be with us ALL !!!

  • I know several Republicans that are GREATLY disappointed with their party and to the point of wanting to leave it, but don’t like what the other parties stand for and so they stay, hoping that it will change back to when it was respectable. If a separate party was formed, I think the sound minded Republicans would jump on it in a minute. As long as it had nothing to do with the Republican party NOW.

  • I hope this actually happens. When I was younger, I worked every election, and became a member of the Republican Re-Election committee. When I saw the direction the GOP was headed in, I quit. I quit voting, and joined no other party. We need to get back to true conservative ideals. A nuclear family, obeying the law, putting god back in the schools, stopping abortions, stopping illegal immigration, arresting inner city criminals, stopping regulations, a true free market, keeping the military men only, eliminating affirmative action, protecting job creators, and the list goes on. I would re-enter politics, if a “Freedom Party” were to be created. The Republicans were one called “Whigs”. We could call it the “New Whig Party”. What do you think?

  • I voted for Ronald Reagan and then Iran contra mess happened. Stopped voting for awhile. Started voting independent till none of the smart people won. Now I vote Democrat because I don’t recognize anyone in the Republican party. John McCain was the last hold out. If they could just pick a course and define the platform. I’m too frustrated with these Puppets of Money.

  • I had hoped that Trump would have started his own party because I knew it would be the only way to weed out the crazy talk. He didn’t . If there are some Republicans who break off to form another party I think the the Trump movement will fizz out. They won’t win. With time the new Republican party will grow and gain back it’s support and hopefully their democratic principles, rule of law and credibility. Hopefully they will also represent all people. It will probably take years but without the split, it will take much longer.

  • C’mon…we’ve been playing at this since W. Bush sr was the last “Republican”. Even Reagan stepped over the traditional line. My dad stopped being a Republican when he voted for Clinton, after 2 generations before him, and his own life-long support of the Republican party. Let’s hope a new party comes o fruition, one that will harken to older Americans.

  • Just start forming the Conservative Party already. As opposition the most left wing part of the Democratic Party should split and form the Social Democrat Party. This would be really healthy for American politics, and more like how it’s going on here in Europe, the way I see it. The more parties, the less chance of a corrupting force with absolute power.

  • “They are afraid for loosing their jobs…” Who are they?! factory workers who really have to be afraid when they loose their jobs?! None of them will starve or at least loose their home! Is cowarice in ANY way a virtue for somebody who should decide for a any country let alone the USA?! Throw that incompetent pack of puppies out.

  • You need to do you need to do and bring the old ones back I am a Democrat but the way they treating the the good Republicans are terrible and I am a I am a Democrat to the end but this is just like these peoples in office and acting just like kids we punish our children when they act up we send them to their room we send them without dinner and y’all need to bring them old Republicans back

  • What bugs me the most about Conspiracy minded people is they say, im just asking questions. Which is is totally fine. But Ignoring answers is the problem. If a million people say the answer is a and one guy with no evidence says the answer is B. Why do you think this one guy is right and millions of other people are wrong? Your not being honest with yourself. You should take all answers to your questions and lay it on the table, and really actually be critical of everything on the table. You find that most of the time the right answer is the most simple one and grounded in reality. I use to be like you but I’ve learned the error in my way, and I am way happier now and far less paranoid.

  • The death of the Republican Party may be a fun talking point, but splitting off into a new party isn’t that easy. It’s hard to get a third party on tickets, and nearly impossible to get them in to debates. Ask the Libertarian and Green Parties how well that works out for them. The sane people need to fight for the GOP from within, or they’ll be relegated to also-rans and spoilers.

  • There’s another alternative in which anti-Trump Republican third party candidates would win instead of being spoilers. In solid red states and districts where a Democrat would normally have no chance to win, the D party could announce that if an anti-Trump, bipartisan-curious Republican runs in the general election then the D party will support him/her instead of nominating a D candidate. This offer would be much more attractive to anti-Trump Rs than running as a spoiler and electing a D. Ds in solid red states & districts should be willing to offer this deal in order to preserve, protect and defend the nation and the Constitution from the Trumpian autocratic threat.
