Do Master’S Programs Accept Online Learning?

Graduate schools now accept online degrees, with many students transitioning to online learning for the 2020-21 school year. Distance learning offers flexible scheduling and minimal or no travel, making it an ideal option for busy and working students. If you prefer more flexibility, you can apply for individual courses or pursue a graduate certificate without being formally admitted.

Online MBA and master’s degree programs can vary in terms of their accreditation and the number of in-demand fields at each degree level. The minimum requirement for all master’s programs at Utrecht University is an undergraduate degree in the same or related field. UK universities typically accept a bachelor’s degree obtained through distance education, provided the awarding institution is recognized and accredited.

Each program at the University of Amsterdam has its own entry requirements, application procedure, and deadlines. For most graduate programs, admission requirements are the same for online learners as they are for traditional students. For more information on admission requirements per country, visit each program’s website.

In summary, graduate schools now accept online degrees, and pursuing master’s programs through distance mode is now possible. The admission process is similar for both online and traditional students, and the specific requirements for each program can be found on each program’s website.

Can I use a Masters to apply for another Masters?

Earning two master’s degrees is possible for various reasons, including pursuing multiple academic fields, qualifying for more responsible positions, and becoming a top candidate for higher-paying jobs. A dual or double master’s degree allows a graduate student to pursue two degrees simultaneously, often in complementary fields. This approach can be more time-efficient than pursuing a single degree in biology and chemistry.

However, dual/double master’s degrees may have drawbacks, such as requiring students to split their attention and not providing the immersive and rewarding experience of a first master’s degree and a second one later in life.

As any master’s degree provides confidence and educational benefits, dual/double master’s degrees may not be as beneficial in this regard. Therefore, most students opt for a single master’s degree first and then pursue a second degree if they choose later.

  • Hello Sir! thank you so much for the information. From this i got to know that people with Bachelors degree from non DISTANCE EDUCATION have a very good edge over students with DISTANCE EDUCATION, Im currently in 2nd YEAR BCOM MUMBAI IDOL(institute of distance and open learning). Can you please help me out? I want to know if now that i CHANGE MY COLLEGE, ie go to NORMAL college and complete my rest 2 years of bachelors from that college, Will that make a difference? Will I be considered as a student with normal bachelors degree or a student with DISTANCE EDUCATION bachelors? Or both, and if so, will it cause any hindrance ? please this is the time where i decide things. I can change college work hard on my grades and learn german but if eventually i end up getting rejected simply because my Degree is from DISTANCE LEARNING then it would be a dream breaker. I get it that it is not impossible to get admitted into german universities with DISTANCE EDUCATION but i want to be on a very safe side where things like my academics, langungae and ielts would matter and when i go consult the study abroad ppl in my vicinity then they come up with ” germany requires 4 years and no distance learning” and simply tell me to apply for uk and other universities which i cant because of the fees so please help me as i have very less time and its a critical decision! i would be very grateful to you! Thank you! -Shivam

  • Hi. If I want to apply for an undegraduate online degree from LSE in BSc. economics and mathematics. Should I apply through UCAS ? Or platforms like edx and coursera. For physical on campus programs we need to submit the personal statement and prove them that we are worth doing the degree. Like is only applying through the application form in LSE website enough. Will we get admitted in the program?

  • I’ve genuinely heard some horror stories about University of London/Goldsmiths and Birkbeck online Computer Science. Lack of feedback, extremely poor admin, virtually no teaching from the lecturers. Also to get results have to wait 3/4 months. Even heard it took almost a year to get results a year or two ago !

  • Hello, first of all, I find your article very interesting. Thank you for taking the time to do a great job. I have a question which is the following: How many courses did you take per semester? In other words, for between 20 and 30 hours a week, how many courses can you take without being too stressed? Thank you in advance.
