I know it’s not the same but I used to be an alcoholic. It took away all worries and pain and for moments I felt happy! But it was just a temporary(and bad) solution to a more serious problem. I got over it and realized it wasn’t making me happy it was just creating a temporary distraction from reality and the reality of me having a problem, and there is no shame in that. We all have problems and need help. The point is while yes it may have a potential “positive” feeling it is still not treating the issue just masking it(and in a lot of cases causes more problems). Most people don’t care about full grown adults modifying their bodies and being “happy T people” if that’s what they want to do. What most people take issue with is getting kids involved because their brains aren’t fully developed and they might do things they permanently regret. I have met exactly two trans-identifying people in my life. One of whom seemed to be happy and well-adjusted, doesn’t even own a single piece of rainbow swag, and just got married. The other one was moody, seemed to be going through some kind of depression, and proved multiple times that they were willing to police other people’s language. I’m curious to see what happens to them later on in their lives, even if I can make an educated guess.
On the subject of brain structure, whether it’s true or not, the real question is: “so what?”. That’s not a reason to justify anything. On the subject of suicidality, the studies on this are all very recent and affected by the cultural moment we are in, and do not sufficiently control for other factors. If a child is coming to me and saying he or she feels depressed and suicidal and that they feel they were born in the wrong body, I wouldn’t blindly affirm them. When a child expresses those feelings, you should seek help from a trusted mental health professional. Ask the child questions as to why they might feel these things. A lot of times, victims of abuse, especially sexual, will develop survivors guilt and are disgusted with their bodies, so they believe if they were the opposite gender then the memories and pain of the abuse will go away. Address the depression and suicidal ideations and get to the root of the problem instead of just enabling them to harm themselves for the sake of “saving their lives” Addicts make that argument all the time. They’ll say they can’t go on or survive without their fix of food, drugs, alcohol, or any other substance. Do you continue to supply a heroin addict with heroin because they tell you they’ll take their own life if they can’t get a hit of it?
As a Trans-woman i agree with Walsh, i have talked both kids and parents out of Transition because of how life changing and even damaging it can be as a whole. I always say that Hormone Therapy is like a marrige, so you have to be absolutely sure of it because the divorce/Detransitioning will be very ugly, because you’d likely be disowned by friends and family, plus there will likely be medical problems like what we see in Chloe Coles case.

She also contradicted herself by saying that people are happy after these procedures, and so Matt needs to “respond” to that, but then said she didn’t know if said people were “still alive now”. Meaning they could’ve slipped back into depression, in which case those procedures did not help and may have actually made things worse.

I googled the region of the brain that supposedly creates gender identity and found, Regarding grey matter, the main sexually dimorphic areas associated with the development of gender identity are represented by the central subdivision of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BNST) and the third interstitial nucleus of the anterior hypothalamus (INAH3) Studies show these regions are abnormal in subjects exhibiting gender dysphoria. Im sure its way more complicated than a little node in the brain but if it was wouldn’t you want to treat that instead of destroying the whole biological system?
“What do you have to say about the happy people…” Their happiness is a placebo. It comes from an entire medical community telling them in order to be relieved of their despair, they need only follow these steps. That provides hope for the future, a path forward, and an end goal. I think a good follow up question would have been to ask how she would know that receiving therapy wouldn’t have been equally as life saving as she claimed the chemical castration can be. Then again, all they do is give non answer because there is no viable defense for what they are doing to children.

Honestly speaking i’m terrified for my generation. i’m 18 and i just started college already and i’ve already met a lot of trans people. i’m going to be honest..i’m not sure what my sexuality is, i’ve always been attracted to women(i’m female) but i’m sometimes attracted to men. Maybe bi but i think i’m 95% sure i’m lesbian. I’m fine with that. i used to wish i was a boy but then i realized i can’t do anything about it…then transitioning got popular and it makes me sick. It’s not truly possible to transition and they’re using kids insecurities and gender dysphoria to make money. I’m young not dumb…twenty years from now this is going to be modern day lobotomy. I think the reason i didn’t fall victim is because my family doesn’t really care about sexuality and gender roles. We acknowledge them and use them traditionally but…idk how to explain it. I get a lot of hate in class bc i refuse to talk to trans people…not all of them actually some of them are just broken but not rude or hateful towards me. One thing that she is missing is that depressed, possibly suicidal kids feeling that they don’t belong, are being steered toward transgender..being the cause. Instead of re-affirning their value, they are taught that this is the cause. Naturally some might feel better thinking that they have now been ” fixed” but that does not mean that the gender issue was ever the problem in the first place.
People have been trans for millennia and didn’t have to castrate themselves. In fact, two spirits in Native American culture had surrogates so they could maintain being trans and have families. It’s not necessary to use puberty blockers. My parents refused Puberty blockers when I was diagnosed with precocious puberty because it could sterilize me. That’s a real risk and I’ve seen plenty of trans people have kids naturally
No one mentions the Institution that was on the vanguard of trans sexual surgeries, the Johns Hopkins University hospital. Their motive was to prevent suicide of people who had sexual disphoria and felt that they needed such a radical physical change. After quite a few years the Johns Hopkins U did a 180 turn and abandoned there sex change surgery after discovering that the surgeries made no difference. The suicide rate stayed the same at about 30% of this group afflicted with sexual disphoria.
One way of phrasing what happened here is this, “even if I grant what you’re saying, it doesn’t follow to your conclusion”. Even if you grant that a biological woman who identifies as a man “can” have the brain structure of a cis man, that doesn’t then follow to the claim that any type of transition can be life saving. Just googled the brain study. A Transwoman brain is overwhelmingly still similar to a males brain, but it is slightly shifted towards a females. So no, the brain is still significantly more similar to the chromosomal sex than their gender identities natural anatomy and only has slight shifts from the standard.
See, I used to never have a problem with advocating for the acceptance of transgender adults. I was and still am a firm believer on promoting inclusion and encouraging people to be happy, however they choose, as long as it doesn’t directly interfere with the well being of others. But, that’s the problem. This ideology has now arose to a level of societal acceptance that involves children in an adult narrative that they are no where near cognitively developed enough to understand and quite frankly, it has insulted, discredited, and threatened the integrity of the distinct differences between both genders. People who accept and promote this “woke” narrative are exasperated with ignorance and riddled with confirmation bias that is promoting procedures of chemical castration and experimentation on literal children.
When I was a child I liked male toys, I liked male hobbies. I never dressed like a male or did anything that would be remotely male beyond having male interests. I wasn’t even a tomboy, I was/am a very feminine person who just happens to enjoy computer games, STEM, motorbikes (only driving, not maintaining), sports (playing, not perusal) and things most people of either gender usually consider fun. It is disturbing to me that had I been born 20 years later my interest in STEM and select male hobbies may have been used to force an otherwise strongly female child into a sex change. its frankly hard to describe just how disturbing this new wave mentality is.

Sometimes I do kick myself for not killing him because he hurt other children but, in the end, mine came first. If I had had to kill her father to protect her, I would have. End of story.
Imagine this scenario….. A crazy lady who hates her ex husband, and men in general. She decides to ruin that child’s chances of fully developing into a man, and any chances of procreating, along with destroying his reputation among his peers, especially once this craziness wears off on society. These sicko parents transitioning their kids must not want grand kids.
I’m pro trans, but no parent should ever do this, being trans is a decision NOT made my the parent, but by the kid when they’re approaching puberty. When they start expressing their feelings of being trans, you want to THEN get them hormone blockers to prevent them from going through puberty, FINALLY THE PERSON WHO’S LIFE IS GOING TO BE AFFECTED makes the final decision WHEN THEY’RE THE AGE OF AN ADULT.
This is part of why I broke up with my last girlfriend. A few months before hearing about this. I was exploring my political leanings and decided to ask her about hypothetical situations actually including the case of a transgender child. Turns out therapy and not allowing transition is not ‘accepting’ enough. These questions about how to handle situations in child rearing should be part of everyone’s evaluation of a potential mate.
What about his brother Jude? Is he also suffering from living with this woman? They are twins. Both boys should be with their dad who will protect and raise them to be comfortable as boys. People that know his dad and James need to be at that courtroom to back his dad up and give proof that James only behaves like that with this crazy woman.
Thank you for bringing up the APATHY of conservatives. I’m almost 60 and I’ve been dealing with that issue off and on for years. It’s always been hard getting people to commit their time and/or money to various conservative causes but it’s gotten much worse since Obozo. During his first term I organized a number of overpass “protests.” Getting just 10 people to commit a couple hours of their time to help spread the truth about Obozo’s policies was like pulling teeth. By his second term I had to do a few all by myself. It’s gotten much worse now. The reason this sexual Mental Illness has gained so much ground comes down to APATHY. The reason the Rule of Law in DC has broken down is APATHY. The reason… well, you get my point. Anyway, thanks for bringing that up. If Conservatives have a weakness, Apathy is it imo. Now I’m going to donate a few bucks to that dad and say a prayer for everyone involved.
As a mother of three boys, I cant even begin to fathom how a mother could do this to not only her child but the father. I could NEVER think about doing something even remotely like this to my husband. He is such a great father and husband that what he thinks/feels means a lot to me. I dont care if we are going through marital issues, that is NO EXCUSE to take his son from him! There are only 2 reasons a mother should take away any and a custody and that is A) child abuse and B) child molestation/rape. I dont care if he cheats on me with 10 girls lathered in peanut butter, I would never take our boys from him. This mother needs to have her lady parts gutted so that way she can never abuse another child. I feel so bad for that boy and father. I will be saying an extra prayer tonight for them so that father gets full custody. Ugh, this makes me so angry! Worst mother of the century.

I can imagine my youngest brother who is almost 4 years old, being treated this way. All he knows is his favorite cartoon, food, his and his family´s name, and that ¨Mommy don´t cry, only I can cry because I am a baby.¨ He just accepts that he´s a boy, I can´t imagine forcing a child who can´t even pronounce spaghetti to undergo this kind of emotional weight, confusion, stress, and complication. I agree she should immediately lose her license to practice…in any capacity. These kids need to be debriefed, re-guided, & re-established…the longer it takes to begin, the longer it takes to re-begin. This is a seriously sad case, isn’t it, John…Hard to keep the Calm, by anyone with morals & codes of honor…Perhaps Trump-like rallies during his court hearings, and at least make the event newsworthy enough (Ha! Even Alphabet People should be livid with this case!) to get news attention, perhaps, at least other children will hear a truth.(???)
It’s a quite simple phenomenon to explain why he acts feminine while with the mother and then normal when with the father. We’ve evolved to learn to please woman, and that all starts with our mothers, then grows into sexually competing for woman as adults. We have to please our mother because if we’re too much of a burden and mommy doesn’t like us, hundreds of thousands of years ago that meant she dropped you off in the forest and just made another one of you next year. This young boy is being conditioned to believe in order to obtain his mothers love, which is something that’s is written into his DNA as necessary to survive, he must pretend to be a girl because that’s the only way he receives a positive stimuli in regards to her behavior towards him.
To my father’s dismay, I wore mermaid tails and played with The Little Mermaid playsets when I was four. Despite that, I knew then, and I know now, that I am a boy. Nay, I am a man. I am a masculine man, and I have never questioned that. Taking part in girly activities sparingly is a normal part of development for some boys, but it doesn’t mean they’re not boys. Oh, and I still think mermaids are cool 🙂
if anyone is perusal this article even after it has been a year… from what i read the father lost rights to his kids health choices and the mother has sole choice judge cook who was origi ally on this case was removed and the new judge originally agreed with cook but a further hearing was scheduled however before the new hearing the judge decided to grant sole custodial care to the mother and did not elaborate or give explanation to the sudden change in decision
If I would have said this to my dad, he would have ripped that rag off my head, cut my finger nails as far down as possible, assassinate the mom, and flee the country. This fake mother is obviously abusive and she is mad that she didn’t get a girl. This poor kid should undergo therapy and the mother should loose her job, status, and should loose her kid which isn’t even her biological kid. I feel bad for the father. He is stuck in this zone until James is 18 because of a few very very corrupt laws.
I’m in high school, yesterday I saw a junior take my friend’s Reagan hat and tell him it’s bad to wear it, they then got into a argument about gender, the junior (who makes relatively good grades) said that gender doesn’t exist. Edit: forgot to say that when he turned to my other friend (who had an NRA hat) he asked “do you know what that stands for?” And she said “national racist association?” And he says “no, it’s national RIFLE association” and she says “same thing”
This is an issue of an abusive and emotionally manipulative parent, not a transgender issue. It scares me that you treat the only solution as blocking children from access to hormone therapy because there are legitimate transgender children out there that could suffer because of that. I completely agree that the situation is fucked and this woman is obviously insane but thats the problem. She insane and abusive, most parents are not like that.
She’s 100% doing it to get back at her ex husband. She does not care that the life and livelihood of a human (let alone her own child) is at stake. When her child grows up to be mentally ill and unbalanced, she will feel ZERO remorse or guilt. She simply isn’t capable of seeing herself as illogical or the villain.
Wow. I’m trying to come up with something to say, but words escape me. If I were that boy, mommy would disappear one night. There would be no trace of her left to find. Dad would get called because Mom had up and left the kids in the middle of the night and the secret of her disappearance would remain just that, a secret, till death.
When my son was like three or four he really got into Disney Princesses especially Snow White and wanted to pretend to be her. I asked him why and he said he liked girls and thinks their pretty. I allowed him to play and even dress up but I never told him he was a girl. I treated it as if I had a daughter who wanted to play being Superman. Eventually he stopped playing princesses and got really into all things boy and hero. He is now your typical 9 year old boy. He loves karate, article games like smash brothers and sword fighting. Most of his friends are boys and they rustle, ride bikes and all around do little boy things. I can only tremble to think what would have happened if a court made me physically alter my son to a girl.
It is so important that fathers STAY IN THE HOME. Do not get divorced. Stay, fulfill your role as father, husband and provider, and be the head of your household. When you abandon your role you are throwing that child to the wolves. And it’s not just if the mother is angry, there are predators out there looking for single moms. Men, MAN UP! Your sons and daughters need you.
I don’t see the link to the fathers page in your description? Does anyone have it…I will donate. Men have very little rights in the family court system. I’ve went through hell with my ex, who used the children as weapons to get her muse of her vindictive evil and sick behaviours. The courts actually condone these actions awarding full custody by default…and it doesn’t matter how evil or the damage they’re doing to children. It is beyond belief how this is allowed, these women are physiologically corrupt, abusive and controlling…and have no mental capacity to understand the damage they’re imposing in order to satisfy their selfish needs. If this is allowed to continue, it will be one of the greatest injustices to a child and to father’s around the world. Father’s (future father’s) need to stand together and not allow this to happen to this boy.
I’m a minor, and I’m not in a position donate money currently, I’ve been following this story for about a year and a half to two years, and it makes me very pissed, i cant describe the fury i want to rain down on this mom for doing this. But like you said people are just retweeting and stuff, and not donating, while that is shitty, i do think spreading the situation to like minded individuals that can do something, is important as well.
John, I admire you and love your content but I can’t finish this article. The topic is just too depressing. I feel literal pain in my heart every time I hear about this. It isn’t right, I know, but I fear my body can’t take the stress anymore. I cried for this kid at work in front of my co-workers when I listened to Crowder’s vid on this. I have strong urges to end crazyB in ways so far outside my character I can’t handle it. I want to save this kid: American system be damned. I pray for James, struggling to find the faith to guarantee Heaven will send literal armies to protect James because I don’t believe America will.
