  • For the HP laptop that folds and turns into a tablet, I have an older version of it and the hinges are too weak to hold the weight of the screen for years. Laptops get carried and moved around. It will most likely break in my opinion like mine did. One hinge is now popping out of place and no one can fix it even though its not that big a deal.

  • because the storage is calculated as 1 gb = 1000 mb and 1 mb = 1000 kb in the market. But for computers, 1 gb = 1024 mb and 1 mb = 1024 kb. Due to this, you will see 1.83 tb of storage instead of 2 tb. So, in short, the companies are making these as per calculations of 1000 instead of 1024 (in the power of 2).

  • Which laptop is best for heavy work I am a developer I have always opened 10-15 Tabs in chrome multiple node projects are running simultaneously building 1 or 2, currently I have i3 processor with 16gb ram and a SSD it’s slow like very slow iam confused in build quality and best performance laptop I thought about macbook but I like to dual boot with Linux so no to mac if anyone have can help me to choose a best laptop which run smoothly at let me focus on my work instead of laptop I will appreciate your suggestion

  • Chat gpt said The 2TB that the company advertises is the raw capacity of the drive. However, once you format the drive to make it usable for your operating system, a portion of that space is reserved for system files and other data structures, which results in a smaller total capacity being shown. In your case, the 1.83TB you’re seeing as both the total and free space indicates that there’s no significant data on the drive yet, so nearly all of the formatted space is available for use. But the difference between the advertised 2TB and the 1.83TB you see is due to the difference in how storage is measured (as mentioned earlier) and the overhead from formatting. The company isn’t misleading; it’s just a result of how storage works.

  • The reason behind a hard drive/SSD showing less storage capacity is because of two different units of measurement, namely Terabyte (used by storage manufacturers) and Tebibyte (used by Windows). So, when the box says 1TB (Terabyte) storage then Windows will read/show it as .91 Tib (Tebibyte). TB and TIB are two different units measuring the same thing, let’s say the distance between point A and B is 1 mile which also translates to 1.6 km, the distance is the same, but units differ.

  • The storage is actually a matrix of few units. One of them is GiB or Gibibyte…. But Windows shows that space in GB or Gigabyte. Gigabyte is bigger scale… Same for TB & they coexist in Windows subsystem…. So it shows like that. As we say 1TB = 1000 GB. But see, its not true. It should be 1024GB. Right? Actually we are telling the Matrix unit. So it might be 1TiB = 1000 GiB…. Now that’s good… We can SIMPLY MULTIPLY THE STORAGE AMOUNT (of the TERABYTE) WITH 0.917 TO GET THE SHOWN AMOUNT IN WINDOWS SYSTEM… & the rest we know is the reserved files of windows that is being created while formatting.

  • I think most people do not realise that the 1.7 L inr includes 2 TB of storage and 32 gigs of RAM something most laptop products don’t end up having even at that rate even though they have better screens or so. It’s a big note because it makes hell of a difference in both performance and needing to upgrade storage in the future. Could it have been closer to 1.5 L ? Yes . Do I think it’s very exorbitant? No, I think for what it provides with the value of portability form factor and still keeping great thermals this is not bad at all.

  • Showing 1.83 tb cause some chunks of portion of the storage is covered by windows already. And if not or the lapi is dos, then it’s because. Hard drive manufacturers use the International System of Units (SI) convention when labeling their hard disk capacities. The prefixes used in SI such as Kilo-, Mega-, Giga-, Tera, Peta, Exab, Zetta, Yotta are all decimal-based. So, a 2 TB hard drive basically means it has the capacity of 2,000,000,000,000 or 10^12 bytes. but here is the catch that, when you buy a hard drive labeled as 2 TB, you are getting 2 TB (2,000 GB) storage spaces. When Windows tells you that there are only 1.83 TB in it, what it really says is that there are 1.83 TiB. The GB/TB info you see in Windows is misleading, causing more confusions to end users. Really, Microsoft is the one to blame here. It’s been over 23 years since the Kibi system was introduced and you still haven’t adapted it in your system. Why?

  • Never buy ASUS laptop, I bought asus vivobook 7 years ago which lasted 3 years because after that the performance was shit. Then I bought F15 TUF gaming laptop and after 2 years it had wifi driver and other hardware issues. Buy HP, DELL, Acer, rtc but NEVER BUY ASUS. They might feel cheap but they are CHEAPER FOR A REASON

  • Ryzen 9 is a bit of an overkill for most people (even gamers), rather wait for Ryzen 5 or 7 from this AI series and wait for Nvidia 50 laptop series launch, so the price of 40 series will be lesser.. This is a good laptop for people who are on the move or would like to have a side laptop for just bedroom. Ideal price should be 70-80k.

  • For heavy 3D software modeling, coding, long time screen usage like reading n stuff. Can I go for Asus Vivobook Pro 15 OLED i5 13500 H, 6GB Nvidia 4050 (65W TGP) at 85k or should go for high performance like TUF i7 13700H, 6GB 4050 (140W TGP) with IPS display at 104 k. Im looking for long-term usage. Good performance and good display.

  • 1. Overpriced for the base variant that has 16GB RAM and an RTX 4050. If the “budget” series is priced like this, I imagine the tier G14 be priced at 2-3k which is absurd. ASUS is testing the water if they can apply next up-pricing with this product. 2. Should have been a full-sized SD card reader, as micro SD does not make sense anymore. 3. If it’s below 100% sRGB, atleast make an OLED variant for added price.

  • I’m stuck with my Legion for the last 4 years but I’ve been meaning to get a new laptop. The 2 SSD slot on TUF A14 should be decisive enough for me but I’m still not sure about something else. How is Asus keyboard compared to Lenovo? And what about their warranty? Are there any other options for compact laptops with 2 SSD slot?

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 will now have 7 years of OS upgrades as per its new upgrade policy to compete google pixel, this rumors have been there I don’t know confirm news regarding this. @TechWiser would you please let us know what’s the truth by connecting and confirming by Samsung Team. As BBD and GIF are upcoming sales of flipkart and amazon so we can go for such option.

  • ANSWER so in windows it shows the unit giga byte/Tera byte but behind the scenes it’s actually gibi byte /Tebi byte the reson for discrepancy is gigabyte use 10 raises to some power while gibi byte /Teri byte uses 2 raises to some power so it’s shows the unit gb which let’s say 1000 mb but gibi byte is actually 1024 mb, so the larger the no more discrepancy will occur that’s why it’s showing 1.8 tb BTW love your work ❤

  • The gpu is not actually underclocked…. most of the rtx 4000 series if they have 140W tgp it only goes upto ~~110W…. only a few times it uses full output…. while in other case if it is of 115/110W it uses its full output…. so it means whether it’s of 140W or 110/105W the performance is same… sometimes there might be a minor difference

  • You know that’s not going to happen, I m too vulnerable because I don’t know a lot of the people, and those i do including you are difficult to get to I don’t appreciate that, tone it down, what do you want to what would you like, i have more moods than a cat 😅, you see my eyes wrigling around, i don’t appreciate you standing there and asking me, it should be what would you like, come closer and ask me that again, that’s what i would like . I m not saying your not feminine or Emotional but practicality and physicality trumps it . I am struggling with emotional and practical for the past so many hours, i know i am wrong, i m also in awe how both are managed but physicality, im struggling Shreya, i need more reassurance and some dumbness

  • windows os uses GiB, MiB and TiB instead of GB, MB abnd TB. That’s why 2 TB shows 1.83 TiB, But Windows refreshed their naming scheme so TiB shows as TB. GiB is Gibibyte not Gigabyte and GB is gigabyte – GiB follows binary system so 1 GiB = 1024 MiB = 1024 x 1024 KiB = 1024 x 1024 x 1024 byte = 1,073,741,824 byte whereas GB is Gigabyte and it follows decimal system so 1 GB = 1000 MB = 1000 x 1000 KB = 1000 x 1000 x 1000 byte = 1,000,000,000 byte so GiB is bigger than GB and TiB is bigger than TB

  • Hey bro namaste im ayan Bhai mujhe apna first laptop lena hai mai usme coding or article karna chahta hu or sath hee usme padhna bhi hai online lectures attend krne ke liye ye sab mere uses hai mera budget 50k hai please ek 1 and final laptop bata do mai aap par trust kr rha hu mujhe ek laptop suggest kr do jisme me normal si gaming and coding article editing oe study kr pau or usme koi problem na ho or battery backup thoda thik ho

  • If you want better gaming performance in laptops, put your resolution in games at 1600*900 or 1366*768. For 14″- to 16″-inch laptops you won’t find much difference in quality. Turn off few things in graphics settings like motion blur, AA etc. As most gaming laptops comes with 1650, 2050, 3050 with just 4GBvRam at budget range. it works

  • thing with asus A14 is it’s going to give you great performance for 1.5 years after that it becomes a heater and temps goes up to 96 degrees and mux switch gets confused on which gpu to use. Sometimes your GPU will disconnect same with wifi chip and sometimes your rtx stops working. It’s better to go for lenevo or top gaming series from asus zephus G14

  • ANSWER TO THE STORAGE QUESTION>> The reason, for example, that a 1TB drive shows up as 931GB in Windows is that behind the scenes, Windows is measuring the number of gigabytes or whatever storage shows in terms of gibibytes, but it incorrectly displays the labels as gigabytes. And the same goes for terabytes. It’s measuring and displaying the number of tebibytes, but the units show terabytes. And since a gibibyte is larger than a gigabyte, 1.074 times, if you divide 1000 gigabytes by 1.074, you get that number 931. That’s where that comes.

  • Storage written on disk are Tibi Bytes on Tera Bytes 1 TIbi Byte = 1,000,000,000,000 Bytes 1 Tera Byte = 10,99,51,16,27,776 Bytes Windows shows storage in unit Tera Bytes So it will always be less than what was shown on display on disk. Like in the case of 1TB (Tibi Byte) you get 931.83 GB(Giga Bytes)

  • Quick advice,if you want to spend this amount for a laptop, just add 5000rs more and you will get the ROG Zephyrus G14 2024, which offers you one of the best build qualities (CNC magnesium alloy), one of the best displays (2k OLED panel), nest speakers in any windows laptop (even slightly better than MacBook pros), similar performance to this laptop, better battery life than this laptop. Please don’t buy this laptop, it’s not the best value for money until it’s price drops to around 1.25 lakhs. (Please pin this)

  • That is not what a MUX switch does. Using MUX we can run the laptop display directly from dedicated gpu. Without MUX switch the laptop display is always run by processor gpu. Without MUX switch only external display is run by dedicated GPU. With MUX switch we can have laptop display to run on dedicated GPU which is not possible without the MUX switch.

  • Imagine your 2TB SSD is a big candy jar 🍬. The label says it holds 2000 candies, but when you open it, there’s only room for 1830 candies! Why? Because some space is taken up by the jar itself and the wrappers 🥳. So, your computer counts a bit differently, leaving you with slightly less candy (space) than you thought! 😄💾

  • Storage manufacturers calculate drive capacity using the decimal system (Base 10): 1 TB = 1,000 GB 1 GB = 1,000 MB 1 MB = 1,000 KB 1 KB = 1,000 bytes So, a 2 TB drive is calculated as 2,000,000,000,000 bytes (2 trillion bytes). Operating systems like Windows and macOS use the binary system (Base 2): 1 TB = 1,024 GB 1 GB = 1,024 MB 1 MB = 1,024 KB 1 KB = 1,024 bytes When using this system, 2,000,000,000,000 bytes equals approximately 1.83 TB of actual usable space.

  • because windows caculates the storage in “Gibibyte (GiB)” or “Tibibyte (Tib)” or “Pebibyte (PiB)”, but windows doesn’t show them as GiB or TiB or PiB, windows show them as GB, TB, PB, which is a bug exists in windows from a long time. If you calculate, 2 TeraByte ~= 1.82 TebiByte, Windows should show 1.82 TiB instead of 1.82 TB in file explorer, but as Microsoft hasn’t fixed it yet it remains what is is.

  • It’s a decimal vs binary conversion. Disks use decimal TB, Windows uses Binary TB: Windows displays TiB as TB. 1TB = 0.909495TiB So it is decimal 1TB (1012 ) but not binary 1TiB (240 ). So 2TB x 0.909495 = 1.82TiB. It’s the same amount of space just displayed differently. Plus file systems sometimes eat up some space.

  • Back in school, we were taught that 1KB = 1024 Bytes & so on. Storage manufacturers, however, use the SI units, with 1 KB = 1000 Bytes. Linux & other OSs have started using the 1000 as the conversion factor. It’s strange that Microsoft Windows still sticks with 2^10. Now, one question from my side. Since Android is based on Linux, why don’t we get the amount of storage advertised?

  • Something similar on the cooling vents there. Like how Asus has their cooling vents in the keyboard, Huawei has put this design in their Huawei MateBook X pro 2024. Air is drawn in through hidden vents in the keyboard, and then expelled out through vents at the back of the hinge ( back of the laptop.).

  • 3:30 three reasons first the difference in how storage is measured you can read up on that in detail next is after formatting and setting up some storage is used for filesystem third some storage is used for laptop checkup and restoration and recovery for example for asus its myasus which can restore formatted laptops and check on laptop health etc. These are the three main reasons

  • Companies which manufactures the storage memory calculates the memory in 1000 bytes and avoids counting the 24 bytes, because it is easy for them to count in that way. On the other hand, computers read the storage in 1024 bytes. Thus, when the companies sell the 2 TB storage, they basically assume 2000GB where as the computers read it as 2000/1024, which comes down to 1.8TB or 1.9TB. LOVE FROM BHUTAN.

  • Binary vs. Decimal Calculation: Manufacturers often advertise storage capacity using decimal (base 10) measurements, where 1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. However, computers use binary (base 2) calculations, where 1 TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. Due to this difference, a 2 TB drive show as roughly 1.83 TB in operating system.

  • There are two notions of measuring Storage spaces:- 1) The computer way of measuring i.e binary way which we all must have read in schools computer books like KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB, etc. So, in this notion 2 Tib = 2048 Gib 2) The metric system of measuring like KB, MB, GB, TB, etc. In this notion 2 TB = 2000 GB Now internationally and by rule of iupac the Metric system of 1 TB = 1000 GB notion is accepted. Many storage device manufacturers accepted this a long time ago but for some reason Microsoft uses the Binary notion of 1 TiB = 1024 GiB. Further they don’t even use the correct symbol like in the binary notion it’s called 1 TiB but Microsoft uses the binary notion and uses the Metric symbol of 1 TB. This difference in the notion of calculation between the storage manufacturers and windows creates a 7% difference in size shown in windows. And then there are some hidden partitions which windows have like an Efi of around 100mb, a fairly small MSR, and a Recovery partition of around 800mb

  • The difference between the advertised 2TB storage and the 1.8TB shown on your laptop is due to the difference in how storage is measured (decimal vs. binary) and system-reserved space as well as for the recovery storage is also managed here, which is why you see slightly less available storage than the advertised capacity. Pheww pheww…

  • The reason your laptop shows 1.83 TB of storage instead of 2 TB is due to the way storage capacity is calculated. Manufacturers typically advertise storage in decimal (base 10), where 1 TB is 1,000,000,000,000 bytes. However, computers calculate storage in binary (base 2), where 1 TB is 1,099,511,627,776 bytes. As a result, when the system translates the advertised 2 TB in decimal to binary, it shows a slightly smaller capacity—around 1.83 TB in this case. This is normal and expected for most storage devices.

  • orage manufacturers calculate drive capacity using the decimal system (Base 10): 1 TB = 1,000 GB 1 GB = 1,000 MB 1 MB = 1,000 KB 1 KB = 1,000 bytes So, a 2 TB drive is calculated as 2,000,000,000,000 bytes (2 trillion bytes).
