One of the most common questions i receive is about how to find ones passion. We’re going to dive deep into a simple yet …

Is it normal to not have any hobbies?

In today’s world, hobbies can seem like a distant fantasy, especially in the era of stress and burnout. However, psychologists Schwarz and other experts suggest that hobbies are activities that one enjoys in their spare time. Instead of feeling pressure to list hobbies, people should simply ask themselves, “What do I derive pleasure from or enjoy doing?” This approach may make it easier to answer questions about hobbies and their meaning to us today. By recognizing and embracing hobbies, we can find more fulfillment and enjoyment in our lives.

Loss of interest can be a sign of a mental health condition, such as depression, stress, or substance misuse. Depression is a key symptom, while stress can lead to burnout and loss of motivation. Substance misuse can also cause interest loss and withdrawal from activities, friends, and conflict. If symptoms are due to a mental health condition, a doctor may recommend treatments. Self-care strategies can help motivate oneself and get back on track.

Losing interest can be caused by various factors, such as a lack of interest in hobbies, friends, or activities that once provided enjoyment. It is essential to seek medical attention when experiencing a loss of interest and seek resources and support to help manage the situation.

It is not uncommon for individuals to engage in a variety of pursuits or activities, given the inherent diversity of human interests. Do I have anhedonia?

Anhedonia is a condition where individuals lose their desire to engage with the world and struggle with emotions, such as joy, happiness, and contentment. They may lose interest in people, hobbies, or activities that once made them happy, leading to a preference for solitude and fractured relationships. Some individuals may display false emotions to mask their true feelings, and struggle to find motivation even when there is a reward to gain. Weight gain can also be a result of behaviors like withdrawal from activities or changes in eating patterns associated with anhedonia.

Anhedonia is caused by a dysfunction in reward processing in the brain, which influences desire, effort, motivation, and pleasure. The brain’s reward circuit, which connects brain structures controlling pleasure, is responsible for the distribution of dopamine, the main pleasure-providing chemical messenger.

Why am I not interested in anyone?

A number of factors may contribute to the inability to experience sexual or romantic attraction to another individual. These include, but are not limited to, variations in sexuality, the presence of depressive disorders, adverse effects associated with certain medications, a lack of confidence in the selection of a suitable partner, or the absence of an individual who is capable of inspiring sexual desire.

What is it called when you have no interest in anything?

Anhedonia is a common symptom of mental health conditions, characterized by a lack of interest, enjoyment, or pleasure from life’s experiences. It is normal for interests to change throughout life and can be treated by healthcare providers by diagnosing and treating the underlying cause. Possible treatments may include medication and cognitive behavioral therapy. It is important to inform healthcare providers about any side effects, such as suicidal thoughts, and to continue treatment even if you feel better.

At home, healthcare providers may suggest regular exercise, such as walking or yoga, to alleviate anhedonia. Physical activities release dopamine, which is crucial for activating the brain’s “pleasure center”. It is essential to inform healthcare providers about any side effects or ongoing treatment to prevent anhedonia from returning.

Why am I lacking passion?

Passion can be lacking due to a lack of self-confidence, fear, or a fear of stepping out of one’s comfort zone. This fear can make it difficult to pursue one’s passion, making it impossible to pursue it. Some people avoid their passion altogether, as it is outside their comfort zone and they are not sure they are ready to tackle it. To overcome this, individuals should continue exploring and trying new things until they find a passion that ignites their passion.

Does ADHD make it hard to have hobbies?

Individuals diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) frequently engage in a repetitive thought process, whereby they envision themselves as accomplished musicians, which subsequently gives rise to a desire for something new.

  • When I was young, I really love drawing and painting, I still draw for fun. But, now, I’m bored of it and want to sing and dance. I’m lost bc people around me are kinda telling” it’s not realistic and i have zero experience so don’t do it” Every time I think about what to do with my future, I want to cry. By the way, I’m only 14 so i guess i shouldnt be worried.

  • The point about consumption vs creation seems really obvious but it didn’t really occur to me before. And it makes a lot of sense. Looking at my life, the times were I was the most active and did a lot of different stuff, even if it was very hard or challenging, are the times I look back at most fondly. On the other hand, the times I felt worst were when I did nothing but stay inside and watch youtube (ironic, I know) even if I loved what I watched. It really isn’t about whether you enjoy it that much, it’s about whether you feel you’ve accomplished something or learned or earned something. It‘s just so hard to go from having no motivation to actually doing stuff but I know that jumping in the deep end is pretty much the only way to go. Just gotta do it.

  • Back then I rlly wanted to became an policewoman or an detective but now I think I just wanted it because that’s the only thing I think I can do and my family already supported me about it but now becaming a kpop idol came to my mind I used to love it but I now my fam won’t support me so I watch alot of bad thing about kpop industry but it didn’t stop me from loving it honestly I just feel more excited and sad at the same time. I don’t know why everytime I think about becaming an idol a tears just falls from my eye and I feel in pain. (I also don’t have qualities that an kpop idol needed, I don’t have talents bruh)

  • i have a great singing voice. but im very shy and the thought of performing or singing in front of people scares me. im even scared to sing in front of my own mother. im not really passionate about singing but i dont want my talent to just go to waste. i dont know how to write music, produce, etc. i just know how to sing. i dont know what to do. im 16 and im lost.

  • While this article does seem to show you how to find your passion he seems mixed up about what is mostly the feeling you get with creating something. That’s serotonin. He telling you to cut back all that dopamine taking all the space in your head and start doing things that release serotonin. Of course dopamine is also involved when you are creating things that we enjoy but that not really the main player. What he is demonstrating is that you might find you are more passionate about something if you have to work at it to achieve it so go work on things that interest you and you’ll eventually find your passion.

  • First article which is not about just do it, stop the article and go run, this is helpful, but we all know this already, I would wish to have skilshare when I was in 5th grade 😂 because if we didn’t found our passion when we where little, we will not find it after 30 years for sure, because real life is sustained by bills unfortunately and little kids crying, ok except the ones who where born in tradition families and dream to be like us if you want to find your hobby first settle the money issue quote from Jay-Z I got 99 problems but money ain’t one of them, so yeah, I will move on to my next week hobby
