I had my pug Motley for about 13 years. He would always go running with me every morning and evening. They could be active if you’re active, and they are just a content being alone in a house. I work with a fire department and my rotation is usually 12-24 hour shifts. He would be just content with being home by himself or going out running with me every evening. I miss my boy very much 🙁
To choose the perfect dog is cool .. but I think a lot about the ones being in a shelter, they wait an adoption very much .. I would really like a German S. or a Doberman .. but I think a lot about the poor ones who do not have a house .. Please, leave a sub-comment to help me, everyone who have an opinion !

I’ve always wanted a dog since I was very little but my parents (even though they adore dogs) have been against the idea due to the commitment it takes. Now that I am older and have earnt myself some money I am now looking to buy a dog and have convinced my parents on the idea and we are now on the long search for a furry friend 🙂

I will have to say no on border collies for first time dog owners. Border collies are the smartest dogs yes, but they are extreme workaholics. They need a job to do, which is why people see them a lot in dog sports (Disc competitions, flyball, and agility are their specialty). If you do not give them a job, they will become bored and destructive. I don’t think a new dog owner would be able to invest time for a breed that needs constant mental stimulation. It would be better to stick with breeds such as the Labrador and the Golden. Other options are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Havanese.
I remember asking my dad for a dog every day since I was 4 years old. I loved dogs when I was younger. It wasn’t till I was in my 20’s, when I first bought my Shih tzu mix. She’s the best little girl and always making me smile with her beautiful face. I was disappointed when the article didn’t mentioned about shih tzus and how they will live with you almost anywhere and sweet and gentle their temperament is.
The best family friendly, athletic and lap dogs are boxers, they are very goofy, patient and cute, they also like children, and they only bark when needed, our boxer howls everytime when he hears a car, so I think they are nice guard dogs, and their bite force is 250 psi and they are the ultimate dog package, again, as bright side said, they don’t do well in hot weather.
A border collie is not for first time owner. Please do not do the breed a disservice and promote this. I have had the privilege to be owned by border collies for 30 yrs and they are not for someone who does not have a clue about what to do with a high energy, beyond intelligent breed like the bc. They require mental and physical stimulation, they require consistent training, and most of all a benevolent leader, one who will set boundaries without being harsh but, not a push over either. I can go on and on about this beautiful breed. Please do not say is for first time owners because it is not. If as a first time dog owner you still decide to go with a bc, talk to lots of breeders, vets, and people who already live with them first and reconsider and go with another breed. An Australian Shepherd perhaps, still most of the traits of the bc but, not as demanding. And I still would not recommend a herding breed to anyone who has kids unless they are willing to have their kids herd by the dog all the time. Most will nip at the ankles is what they do as herders, and then they end up because ït was biting my child”

So I’m happy I got a golden retriever but I’m frustrated that people think Labrador retrievers are sweet dogs, I have my experiences with one, and it wasn’t too sweet and it bit me so yeah to put that in perspective a German shepherds bite is only 8 PSI strong than a Labrador retriever,😭🔥 I’m just saying and it didn’t only bite me, it bit this young girl, this baby, IT BIT THE OWNER 3 TIMES! And a couple other people that I dont know.. just saying. This is just my experience with one. Tell me yours! Mabye your experience with one is better 🙏😃
I got golden retriever I think their was a mistake bc my house to SMOL for it maybe a corgi would be best but it hard to get golden retriever in my house it will just shed and things like that so corgi is what I will try to get once my dads let’s me get a dog btw this is his daughter’s writing ✍️ Tysm though for the cool test like if u agree!🐶

This is the story of what I found my German shepherd female dog I’m walking in the p Park and heard barking and I go and when I touch her she is still crying and I said to my mother mother I found a German shepherd dog and my mother said if you think you can adapt it no and I said mother that dog is si very poor no one ganna get that dog and my father back is here in our house and said what do I hear a poor dog and I said yes father a poor dog and my father said okay you can adapt the dog and that I have a German shepherd dog like this if love this story
This is pretty inaccurate! I got 200 points and got Golden Retriever, but I had one before (kind of, it was a mix of a golden retriever and a poodle) and it went downhill…he was too big for my house when I moved to another city a few years ago. He won’t fit in my house or backyard! My house is too furnished and my backyard is full of bushes and stuff…my mom doesn’t want my dog destroying them. So, a golden retriever is NOT my type!
I am getting a dog for my birthday sins every it is coming in a few days. My parents were saying that they will get me a labrador but I was begging for a golden retriever . And I got golden retriever in the test as well. NO KIDDING!!! 230 points. Reply to this comment and tell me should I get a GOLDEN RETRIEVER or a LABRADOR??🐶
I love you yar there was a argument between me and my father about which dog should we buy he want a Dashound and I want a German Shepherd Dog I ask him to choose one article so he choose this one seeing it’s background then we start choosing we both get German Shepherd now I am really happy Hope I get one 😌
I used to have 2 white German shepherds which are very rare and barley seen anymore and they died their names were Pudgers and polar and I have a cousin that has a Black and Tan German Shepherd and his name is Otto and both of my dogs were boys to and I got on the test a German Shepherd and I am glad cause that suits me best
