Which Apparel Companies Don’T Back Israel?

The Boycott, Divestment, and Boycott Movement (BDS) is a grassroots movement advocating for Palestinian rights and justice. It aims to find alternatives to 20 boycotted brands, including American Eagle, which has explicit backing for Israel. The boycott list is streamlined to support justice and protest against collective punishment. Many brands, including Chanel, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors, have either voiced their support for or have financial ties with Israel.

The list of companies to boycott is extensive, making it difficult to keep track of them all. Some brands, such as Puma, Anastasia, Bare Minerals Beauty, Joseon Caudalie, Charlotte Tilbury, Clarins, and Colourpop, are targeted by the BDS movement. A poll of followers on Instagram revealed that 99 are boycotting brands ranging from Pampers to Puma because of their deeply rooted relationships with Israel.

Some brands supporting Palestine include Huda Beauty, Amaasia, Tuesday in Love, ANZ Clothing, MZ Skin, Comfee, and Paliroots. The BDS movement is a powerful tool for consumers to support the BDS movement and avoid funding those involved in Israeli violations of Palestinian rights. By boycotting brands that support Israel and directly fund the genocide, we can work towards a more just and just world.

As of December 2020, 165 out of the 193 UN member states recognize Israel, while 28 do not. The Arab League, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela are among the countries that do not recognize Israel. In 2002, the Arab League proposed Arab countries recognizing Israel as a pathway towards resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Palestinian National Authority condemned any Arab agreement with Israel as dishonorable, describing it as a betrayal to the Palestinian cause and a blow to their quest for an independent Palestinian state.

Some countries, including Bangladesh, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, and Pakistan, do not accept Israeli passports, and some also do not accept passports of other countries whose holder has an Israeli visa or stamp on it. Israeli immigration controls do not stamp passports with an entry visa, instead stamping on a separate insert that is discarded on departure.

Some countries also ban direct flights and overflights to and from Israel. In August 2020, the United Arab Emirates permitted direct flights from Israel, and Saudi Arabia and Bahrain authorized overflights for such flights. On 8 October 2020, Israel and Jordan reached an agreement to allow flights to cross over both countries’ airspace.

In summary, the recognition of Israel by Arab countries is a significant issue, with some countries denying entry or allowing overflights. The right to exist, self-determination, and visa requirements for Israeli citizens are also significant considerations.

  • I remember hearing an interview between a Christian guy and a Jewish rabbi from NYC who was pridefully saying that they put human meat in McDonald’s. After that interview with the Rabbi I never ate McDonalds again. Fast forward to a few months ago, I ordered a cheese danish from Starbucks and I had to spit it out! Like, I almost yakked! The cheese in the Danish tasted like very metallic blood! It was disgusting. I didn’t know Starbucks was an Israeli owned company at the time but I never forgot that. I really felt like they put some human blood in the mix. Not sure if anyone else has had the same experience. Anyways, it’s a pretty crazy world we’ve got going on now.
