What Pastimes Does Elvis Presley Enjoy?

Elvis Presley, an American singer and actor, was known as the “King of Rock and Roll” and is considered one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. He had a diverse range of hobbies, from motorcycles and karate to cars and movies. His first record, That’s All Right, was a local hit, but it earned him, Scotty Moore (electric guitar), and Bill Black (acoustic bass) a one.

Elvis had a food obsession that some called an eating “hobby”. A typical sitting was said to include eight cheeseburgers, two bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches, and three milk shakes. Some of Presley’s most famous films included Jailhouse Rock, Blue Hawaii, and Viva Las Vegas. In 1968, he returned to the stage in the acclaimed NBC television comeback special Elvis, which led to an acclaimed career.

Throughout his life, Elvis loved everything from rollerskating to rollercoasters, from karate to football. He enjoyed going to local carnivals and fairs, and he loved watching movies. In the 1970s, he became interested in a sport that was new to him: racquetball. Elvis kicked off 1973 with his iconic “Aloha from Hawaii” special.

Ellis was the epitome of the truly manly guy, with a special love for riding his bikes, riding horses, and practicing martial arts. Throughout his life, he approached every hobby with passion and love.

During Priscilla’s Christmas visit to Graceland, Elvis often spoke of how much he enjoyed roller skating. He rented out the Rainbow Skating Rink several nights.

In conclusion, Elvis Presley was a multifaceted individual with a wide range of interests and hobbies. His love for karate, collecting guns and badges, and reading made him a beloved figure in rock history.

Elvis Presley was known for his love for peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but not all accounts mention bacon. The PB and B sandwich has had numerous variations, many billed as “Elvis Presley’s” or owing to Elvis himself.

What was Elvis favorite meat?

Elvis Presley was a popular figure in the culinary world, known for his peanut butter and banana sandwich and meatloaf. Elvis’s favorite meal was meatloaf, which he consumed every day for a month one year. This recipe, found in Elvis’s family cookbook, the Presley Family Cookbook, includes wheat germ, a grain that was once considered a healthier alternative to meat. The recipe, which includes ground beef, eggs, tomato sauce, onion, crackers or bread, and salt and pepper, was a staple in Elvis’s diet.

The addition of wheat germ allowed the meatloaf to be stretched further, making it more affordable for Elvis. This unique twist on traditional meatloaf recipes may not be familiar to many, but it may be a new addition to the culinary landscape.

What was Elvis Presley’s favorite fast food?

Elvis Presley was a fan of Krystal burgers, with a significant number ordering them by the dozens. In 1954, Elvis and former Disk Jockey “Daddy-O” Dewey Phillips ordered 100 sliders from the downtown Krystal restaurant, and an hour later, a crowd arrived to see Elvis. The order was likely taken at a downtown Memphis location, possibly on Elvis Presley Boulevard. Elvis was not the only celebrity who enjoyed Krystal burgers, with President Ronald Reagan ordering 120 cheese Krystals, fries, and milkshakes to satisfy his cravings.

In 1986, the restaurant cooked sliders beside Air Force One during Reagan’s commencement speech in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Despite the popularity of Krystal’s, steamed sliders were invented by White Castle in Wichita, Kansas, over ten years earlier. The original slider is grilled on a bed of onions, steaming the patented five-hole square patties. Steamed burgers are found throughout the U. S., including upscale burger joints like Joe Isidori’s Black Tap restaurants.

Why did Elvis laugh?

In 1969, Elvis Presley performed at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, and during the song “Are You Lonesome Tonight”, he started laughing due to the sound of background singer Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney. Her soprano part on the tune has been compared to a wobbling saw blade. Peter Guralnick’s biography of Elvis Presley suggests that this incident was triggered by the sound of Cissy Houston’s soprano part.

What is Elvis Presley’s favorite things?

Elvis Presley was a fan of peanut butter and enjoyed a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich more than the Fool’s Gold Loaf. His cook at Graceland, Mary Jenkins Langston, had to experiment and seek advice from Elvis’ family before obtaining a Presley-approved recipe. To make the sandwich, toast bread, spread peanut butter and thin banana slices, and fry the sandwich in a generous amount of butter. Elvis wanted all the butter to be soaked into the bread by the time the sandwich was finished frying.

Elvis Presley was not a big fan of alcohol, although he may have dabbled in peach brandy and whiskey as a young man. The latter libation gave rise to a recently released Elvis Presley-inspired whiskey line. However, the legendary stories of his indulgent meals later in life don’t typically involve alcohol.

Was Elvis a shy guy?

Elvis Presley was known for his shyness and nervousness, which was evident when he was often surrounded by people. Robert Mainer, a 77-year-old Parisian, captured several photographs of Presley interacting with fellow servicemen in between military duties. Mainer said that Elvis was a shy person, and he would talk to people in a normal way, but he didn’t care for those who wanted to hang their arms around him and yell “Hound Dog”. Presley’s shyness and nervousness were a testament to his dedication to never “bothering” him.

  • I think 60 Minutes Australia often features more controversial and truthful investigative news stories that the 60 Minutes US has the courage to show. There is much political and economic interference here preventing the broadcasting of sensitive and controversial stories that hit close to home. The thin-skinned reporters here tend to pander and not ask too many uncomfortable questions to the political and economic elites they are interviewing. When the interviewees are being evasive or refusing to answer the questions, the US reporters don’t press them any further and let them off the hook too easily. I enjoy your program. It is much better quality than the US one.

  • When my parents just got married, my dad, who was a Mason, was doing a custom house for the Reno gaming commissioner…He asked my dad “Do you want to go see Elvis tonight?”, my dad said,”Of course”..so he called ahead, and my dad and my mom went to a Reno Elvis show…they went thru the back door, got the front middle table and a bottle of champagne. When Elvis came over to Kiss my mom(as he did back then), my dad told my mom,”Give Elvis a kiss”…my newlywed mom said,” No honey, i’m married now”…and declined the kiss from Elvis. I thought that was the coolest story of my mom and dads love story.

  • It seems he didn’t have sexual relations with these girls. It’s weird, but then I think it would take a dozen psychiatrists years to decipher Elvis’ extraordinarily complex character! I’m no psychotherapist but I get the feeling that he was emotionally and mentally stunted in his development. An obsessively over-protective mother perhaps, and then fame doing the rest. He had many actual sexual relationships with grown women but he seemed to draw the line with adolescents. I do think it strange of course but I think we’re looking at a psychological problem on his part rather than something truly sinister. These ladies don’t seem to have come to any harm and I don’t believe that Elvis meant to harm them.

  • My mother was 15 when she married my father, he was 21. She had all 3 of her babies by 19. Back then it just wasn’t a big deal. It always seemed that women or young ladies wanted an older man to take care of them and the family. My grandmother was also very young. My grandfather was 10 years older. He built a house for her and then went to her parents to ask for her hand. They were so impressed that he built a house to bring his bride to they approved of her getting married at 14. My grandmother told me he was so respectful that he gave her a room to herself until she was a bit older and more comfortable being in a romantic relationship. They waited 5 years for her to join him in the same room. She had my father when she was 20. She told me how he cared for her and wouldn’t let anything hurt her. It’s the sweetest love I’ve heard.

  • I’ve always thought his relationship with Priscilla was off and didn’t understand what her parents could have been thinking. Knowing there were a series of them just confirms there was something wrong. Mid last century men in their 20s dating 14 year old girls was not acceptable at all. My parents would never have allowed that.

  • Since Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis film came out in 2022 and was a big success and put Elvis back in the spotlight, it seems many people in 2023 are trying to bring Elvis down again by slandering his legacy. Elvis is not here to defend himself. As far as I know no one who met or had known Elvis had a bad word to say about him.

  • I Don’t Care For This Broadcast Trying To Paint Elvis As A Pedophile. The Man Was A Southern Gentleman, He Treated Them Well & Was Not Having Intercourse With Them. Everyone Learns What Love, Dating & Sex Are From Being With Someone Older, That’s The Way The World Works. My Mother Was Married At 17 To My 22 Year Old Father Who Had Come Back From Viet Nam. Elvis Was Young At Heart & Energetic & Wanted To Surround Himself With This, If He Never Had Sex With Them & They Were Well Treated,How Were They Harmed?

  • None of the women interviewed appeared slightly traumatized. In fact, they spoke of their times with Elvis as being happy memories. People used to get married at 14 in the 50s in some places legally and in some countres in Europe still do today. I love 60 minutes, but I feel this came across as mud slinging. Sure, it’s odd and not the norm but the important issue is was anyone here actually damaged or abused?

  • Muhammad Ali was friends with Elvis and he married Khalilah Ali when she was 17 and he was 25, they met when she was 10 at her hometown mosque. He got a 16/17 year old girl, Wanda Bolton, pregnant when he was in his 30’s and still married to Khalilah. And he met his last wife Lonnie Williams when she was 6 and he was 21. Why doesn’t he get the same backlash?

  • Even in the 80’s, in the region where I grew up, the age for girls to get married was 15 years old, my 2 older sisters got married at 16 years old, as well as my friends and relatives, I was the only one who resisted, but When I reached 18 I was under a lot of pressure from my father and I suffered a lot of bullying for being single. I only got married when I was 35 years old, already living in the United States.

  • I’m going to play devil’s advocate: looking at this from an archeological or sociological standpoint, waaaaay back before there were laws for minimum age, etc., when left to their own devices; it was very common for an older man to take a very young bride. Research shows women are at the height of fertility by age 15. A young woman looking for a mate would be more drawn to a man who had more life experience, earning potential, maturity (which comes later for men), & basically a man who she could depend on to care for and support a family. When you look at the animal kingdom, females have criteria in choosing a mate, and age isn’t the primary factor. So maybe this is how we’re genetically programmed, but for most people they don’t consciously acknowledge it as it’s taboo. Just a thought.

  • I’m not defending any of this, but Elvis dated a lot of women who were of legal age or closer in age to him like Barbara Hearn, June Juanico, Anita Wood, etc. but they’re never talked about for some reason. I’ve even seen his high school sweetheart Dixie Locke mistakenly referred to as an underage girlfriend of his and in reality she was only 3 years younger than him. He proposed to Debra Paget during the filming of Love Me Tender and she was older than him. Many people say Ann Margret was the love of his life and that he wanted to marry her instead of Priscilla and she wasn’t underage. In 1974 his girlfriends were Linda Thompson and Sheila Ryan, both of whom were in their 20’s. And in 1974 he also bought a young black woman named Maggie Smith a car and hired her to work at Graceland. According to his cook Nancy Rooks they had a romance. It’s sad she’s never talked about in the media but some of these other stories are promoted. Meh.

  • I have always listened to ELVIS. Loved everything about the KING. I believe that he was a Mammys boy, so never truly grew up At that time in his life. Also parker had so many (bad idealism for ELVIS) Was ELVIS a peodo, I believe not!!! As stated above 1 “Mammys boy, 2. Controlled by parker. 3. Beautiful person but no fighting spirit 😢Ultimately he allowed people to manipulate him in every minute of his life 😢😢😢

  • It’s called a power differential. 14 year olds with no womanly bodies, development yet. Also, He was deeply closeted. The clues are there, feel bad for him. Bet that is why he stayed with the Col. – kept his secrets. He mirrored Pricilla to himself – made her dye her hair like him, dictated her clothes and life, and never slept with her once she became pregnant.

  • That’s why you can’t look at these issues through today’s lenses. People who want to make something out of something innocent, and 50 years old, is like making mountain out of a molehill. For crying out loud it’s NOT that long ago, that it was perfectly fine for parents to marry off their young daughters to established men, much older, and much uglier than ELVIS!

  • I like how the lady said pediphilia didnt happen back then. No it wasnt talked about. My grandma was on lots of studio lots when her uncle filmed in the era prior to this one. She would see the producer types taking girls in offices for hrs. My grandma would hang out with a band there. Nothing ever happened to my grandma but i was never allowed into Hollywood as a teen. Its cute but even i at 17 abd my ex at 24 i see now as inappropriate especially now that i have a son that age. Sorry 14 is pedo even for the south. Think a couple states had 14 as the law age. And its still wrong even if the law permits it. I get culture but its also why theres jokes the south is backwards. Its cute to see them look back with fondness as you can tell they had fun. It was different to that people werent so loose and had norals regarding sex. I think this was covered well for the topic

  • I toured his boyhood home in Tupelo, Mississippi that he lived in before he built Graceland, many years ago. He grew up in a 2 room clapboard “Shotgun Shack” in a lower class neighborhood. There was the livingroom that also served as a bedroom at night where the family slept together and in the next room was the kitchen. There used to be an outhouse in the back, but the trustees of the estate had it torn down. These older Shotgun Shacks are very common style of long, narrow home in the Southern US, you see them everywhere. The reason why they are called that is because if you open the front and back doors, you can shoot your shotgun out the back door from standing in the front entryway!

  • My grandfather was 22 years older than my grandmother. People hate to hear it however, times were different then. Women dated older men to make sure they would be taken care of. At least that is how it was explained to me. When they divorced, they divorced though. They didn’t pretend they were their widow or still married to them.

  • It seems a thing nowadays to judge people of past times by todays standards…it becomes clear in the interviews, Elvis was a Gentleman…he didn’t have sex with under age girls, and he wasn’t racist…infact,he was very generous, gave most of what he had away…he wasn’t perfect…but a lovely extremely talented and good looking man….

  • C’mon. These girls had just entered puberty. Their brains were rapidly reshaping to prepare them for childbearing. They were under the influence of their own hormonal changes. They were impressionable and vulnerable. Taking young girls on shopping sprees is called love bombing. It’s a way to get them hooked. Can’t say no now. Even something that looks like kindness and generosity can be manipulative. Benevolent narcissists love to be showered with gratitude and worshipped. He had a lot of outstanding qualities no doubt. But we all have a dark side. This was his.

  • I have read that elvis presley had more than 4 doctors prescribing pain killers or uppers and downers. In 1977 alone one doctor prescribed 10,000 pills alone. So what i am saying is it is next to impossible to be sexually active with all these pills in you. So Elvis Presley must have just enjoyed the company and someone new to talk to.

  • He sounds a real gentleman – those ladies all say the same, and have no regrets. Yet now suddenly there is a paedophile around every corner. As one lady said, that was the deep South. Her mother married at only 14. My dad was 10 years older than my mother, yet they had a wonderful loving 39 year marriage, only ending when she predeceased him by 5 years …and NOBODY sang better than Elvis. When Elvis appeared on Sinatra’s show it was embarrassing – Elvis was a WAY better singer – did Sinatra ever hit the right note?

  • We forget that Loretta Lynn married her husband when she was 13 and he was in his twenties. Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin when he was 21. Dee Snider of Twisted Sister was 21 when he began dating a 15 year old who eventually became his wife. Bill Wyman of The Rolling Stones married an 18 year old at age 52 who he began dating 5 years prior. Ted Nugent, at 30, dated a 17 year old becoming her legal guardian to escape breaking the law. There are scores more similar relationships so if we are going to vilify Elvis, we should also examine these other situations because he certainly wasn’t a unicorn as far as age differences are concerned.

  • Here’s a fact that might put things in perspective – In 1885, the age of consent in Delaware was was just 7 years. The point being that you cannot judge someone’s behaviour living in a different point in time. In Southern America, when Elvis was growing up, it was common for girls in their early teens to date grown men. In the 1600’s, across Europe, girls used to get married at 12 years old. Different times, different values. I mean, if all he done was kiss these girls then that hardly justifies anyone calling him a peadophile. Has there been any cases where a 14 year old girl has accused Elvis of having sex with them? I’m certainly not trying to justify Elvis’s behaviour I just feel people need to understand that the world they live in today is vastly different to the world Elvis grew up in. Having said that, I doubt Elvis himself, would have allowed his daughter of 14 to date a 30 year old man.

  • i remember seeing the tv show Ed Sullivan where Elvis appeared on stage and they only filmed him from the waist up due to his now famous gyrations. (i’m not ancient; they were reruns or documentaries.) the pressure to marry young was very strong. i graduated high school at age 17 and was accepted into a school of nursing. my parents refused to let me go. ‘decent’ women didnt work; they got married, had babies and kept a home clean. i got married at 18. nineteen yrs, four children and one divorce later i went to nursing school. best thing i ever did for myself and my children.

  • Not saying i agree with Elvis having 14 year old girls around him but it really was a different world back then and not uncommon for teens to marry men in their early twenties. Elvis shouldn’t be judged and remembered this way. People are just trying to tarnish his legacy Please Just let this great man R.I.P

  • @14:55 Elvis would tell them “14 (years old) would get you 20 (years in prison)” Elvis defenders: TiMeS wErE DiFfErEnT! Even he knew it’s a crime back then. The clownery of pedophilia deniers 🤡 Edit: I really hope the FBI or NSA tracks those who defend how these 14 year olds were child groomed as “just kissing”

  • 10:50 trivia….the $2700 Elvis spent in 1974? for her clothes would be about $12,000 in todays dollars. The guy was many things, but it’s difficult to say he wasn’t generous with $$. I find it both surprising and admirable that most of these ladies honestly admit there was no sexual activity…..IMO most women today, given the same circumstance, would be lured into lying about such scenarios given the “new norms” of society and powerful media-generating fame.

  • I keep reading in comments “times were different back then”…yup, back then a woman could be refused a credit card, refused to open a bank account, own property, cars, etc. without permission/co signing from a man. The further you go back in time, the less autonomy/rights women had – property of men. “It was just the way it was and was accepted” ? Yeah, okay….SMH

  • Elvis had boundary’s and never crossed the line and never did anything in a sexual nature towards any of theses girls, you can see the shock on theses woman’s faces when it was asked by interviewer was it sexual and don’t you think this was wrong, No it wasn’t wrong these Girls loved Elvis and nothing inappropriate took place, your taking these woman’s Happy memories of a wonderful time in there life’s when they got to hang around Elvis, Hugging and kissing and dating, wasn’t like they do now on a date, Elvis would take girls to a shop because he loved to give and make people happy he would hire a cinema, but remember he never went anywhere without other people, this interviewer is trying to Dig for dirt, even the woman who help produce Priscilla’s movie looked shocked when asked that question, Priscilla has opened a can of warms by doing this movie in these times people will judge, even Priscilla has said in many interviews times were different then and Elvis waited until she was 21 on there wedding night before they had sex Elvis had many woman around him of all ages woman his age and many older woman and treated everyone with respect and everyone meet Elvis fell in love with him, stop trampling on these woman’s memories and trying to make it out to be something its not

  • People are far too hung up on numbers now. Back then people dating who were between 15-21yrs old was totally normal. I’m 50 & remember all the pretty girls in my freshman & sophomore (14-16yrs old) high school classes were dating seniors or guys who’d recently graduated(19-21). Everyone nowadays tries to act like how things are now is how they’ve always been or should’ve been & that’s just ridiculous. A hundred or two hundred years ago people didn’t live nearly as long so getting married & starting a family when you were 14-17 was normal. Most people didn’t even graduate or go to high school back then. Society needs to quit looking back in history & trying to judge people from hundreds of years ago with today’s morals, it doesn’t work & presents a false dichotomy

  • I hate to say it, but I think this was kind of normal back then. It was a much different time. It’s only recent times it’s been made illegal, and it still isn’t in many parts of the world. Throughout history young girls were married off or having babies as soon as they could. I don’t think it’s right, but it’s not the same as today where most people in western culture see it as wrong.

  • What I find surprising is that after the “me too” movement no one has come forward to accuse Elvis of more than kissing and necking. (Although considering the volume of allegations, I wouldn’t be surprised if something arises later.) Kind of disappointed. After much thought, even if he didn’t, or couldn’t be proven to have broken the law in the time in which he lived, at heart he became physically close with underage girls until he was in his 40s. There were even journalists who confronted him about it and his response was that he felt it was ok. This is not only a condemnation of him, but also society; It didn’t even produce a hiccup to his career.

  • Elvis was a good man. He was also a man of faith. I do believe that these “dates” with girls were innocent fun for him. It’s pretty clear that the girls loved the experience as well. Were you able to find any woman who dated Elvis as a girl to say Elvis was anything other than a gentleman? No, you didn’t, and I’m sure that you tried hard to find one. It just goes to show how low our society is now that an adult man can’t be trusted to have an innocent relationship with a girl anymore.

  • My Father gave my mom a ring at 15, she was 20. But there was no hanky-panky, Frankly, he sewed his wild oats with divorcees and he was very respectful. My grandmother forced my mom to return the ring.also, at 14: I knew how to set a table, fry chicken, do laundry, babysit, had a savings account and took sex education and maintained my grades I look at ny grandson and they play articles and can’t make a bed. Elvis seemed immature, boy like. Is this bc of his Mom?

  • Being unaware may excuse his behavior in the beginning, but his interview is proof he understood it was inappropriate behavior yet he continued. He was a pedophile who groomed young girls for his personal reasons. Wrong is wrong. He knew better. His music and talent are separate from his inappropriate behavior. So, it’s wrong to deny his talent.

  • Why is a 22 year old hanging out with a 14 year old? And even as he aged to 40 years old he is with a 14 year old. The entire time I am thinking Michael Jackson. Grooming !!! Elvis’s daughter married Michael Jackson, odd. I don’t know but I am 54 years old and Never in my youth was that ok. Grew up in N.Y. but I can’t believe that it was O.K. anywhere in the late 60’s early 70’s. Also if these women admitted to anything more happening… what would the consequences be for saying “they had sex” be?… lawsuits !!!!!

  • Llike little Francie said at age 14 they kissed…no sex…Elvis was like any other 20, 21 22 year old in the 50 s…they all liked young well developed teens that acted much older. My mama married at age 15 in the deep South to my Daddy who was older…they had a wonderful marriage. My Momma was a happy lady !!

  • This is hardly a surprise. back then, for men to date teens wasn’t considered that unusual. Also, the teen girls wanted to date them. They married and had kids at that age. In many cultures around the world, this is still considered normal. There’s also the factor of women maturing faster than men to consider ( with the era, i mean). He was clearly, himself, very young, under-educated and naive. Don’t get me wrong, i am VERY glad we are more advanced and enlightened and educated about psychological development and health nowadays, i’m just saying, i don’t think this story is as shocking or nasty as this sensational ‘story’ is being presented as….

  • I was born in 1952 this was normal in the 50s to date younger girls. I was 13 going on 14 when i met my ex husband he was 18 we married when i was 16 he was 21 we were married for 30 yes before divorcing i had friends that married at 15 to older guys there wasn’t anything wrong about my ex being with me at 13. Now im 71 my new husband is 57 we are 14 yes age difference. I was 47 when i started dating him he was 33 we have been married 20 yrs. I was very mature for my age at 13 my mother always would tell me. Ha ha if i met elvis when i was 14 and him 24 heck ya id date him he was one of the most handsome man alive.

  • This was hard to watch and stomach. Some of these women made such horrible and stupid excuses for him. Even the author wouldn’t say outright that he was a pedophile. Such bullshit. It’s not just that he liked “younger women” he liked 14 yr olds and specifically that age. Even when he was 40. Absolutely disgusting. And saying “we didn’t have the term pedophile when I was growing up. No one was doing that” is not only inaccurate but also a blatant cognitive disconnection from reality. Hate to break it to you lady, but pedophiles, murderers, rapists, they were all around, even back in the 50s and 60s. I’m so tired of people making excuses for awful people just because of status and celebrity.

  • Elvis had DEFINITE issues, that were NOT normal, or healthy. So did his mama… and no disrespect whatsoever to Priscilla, but she’s got definite unhealthy issues as well, albeit not of the same nature. Granted, her being a veritable “child bri@e” didn’t help her any, but the “adults” didn’t seem to care about her re: that, so of course that affected her in an unhealthy way. For such a magnitude of utter stardom that was that family, so much utter tragic heartbreak and sadness.💔

  • Back then they had more of a “boys will be boys” mentality. Men could do what they wanted to do if they could get away with it. And in this case, he did. His fame and money had more to do with that than it being an acceptable act. Maybe the parents thought their daughters would be well taken care of and face and better future with him. Back then there were a lot fewer options for women.

  • He wasnt a grown man at 24? Wonder of that would work next time a pedo is arrested with a 14 year old. His defense would be Hey I’m 24 but I’m not an adult I’m just a kid. Let us know how that works out in front of the judge. His interested in 14 year olds is well documented. His closest friends, the memphis mafia, were terrified when they found out Priscilla was just 14. They thought they would all be arrested. Elvis regularly had them bring 14 year old girls to the hotel after concerts. Fact. Elvis: Starts dating Priscilla at 14. Moves her into his house at 16. Fact article: First hand testimonies of women that dated him at 14. Fact Female fans in the comment section: These are lies and I will never believe them.

  • You know that’s like anything else around the world he said she said why don’t you get over it and keep your broadcasting in Australia then to keep your broadcasting out here in America spreading false rumors we don’t know for sure we go back to the old situation he said she said enough now keep your news in Australia

  • He most evidently dated those young girls because his own youth had been stolen from him. LIke one of the woman is saying : with ALL the work he did he had no time to live his own life nor for flirting like all teens do. So, non, he was not a pedophile at all, he just did not have this perversion that the real ones have. And it showed on his face and aura. I am sure he was a great guy.

  • My mother was 14 when she married, and my dad was 19, they married in Texas in 1959. The further you go back in the generations it becomes apparent that it was common for women to be child brides- many girls marrying at the age of 16 to men in their 40’s and this is common in the 1800’s so you don’t have to go too far back to see these kind of marriages. Back then, ppl died younger- there were no few, if any antibiotics and we did not have all of the vaccines or they Healthcare system we have today. People were expected to marry young, begin a family young and to likely die young, so no one thought anything bad about a teenage bride. In this current time Elvis would have been in a lot of trouble for dating teenage girls but back when it was happening it seemed to be more accepted than it would be today

  • OMG; sorry, but just watched some more and realized that these women tried to act as if they ‘dated’ Elvis, as in being his girlfriend. That was not the case and I’m glad they pointed out, at least, the fact that it was a different time; different culture, etc., and when these girls would try to be sexually intimate with Elvis he would say ‘no.’

  • Certainly the times were very different . I believe the best evidence that Elvis was emotionally screwed up but not a predator is he didn’t have sexual activity with underage girls. Given these times we keep referring to, the evidence of the behaviours of many of his contemporaries and many many since, id think it unlikely he’d have been held to account had he done so. That doesn’t make him perfect but it might mean he was significantly morally stronger. Personally I think he had a strong moral code for those times. I think we see this also in his addictions. All prescribed drugs no illegal drugs. And no alcohol or cigarettes. He could have thought he was playing by the rules whilst so many around him were just riding on his gravy train. Also something we’ve seen again and again. But boy, was he beautiful.

  • All the young girls he picked had mature looking bodies, he was not attracted to children. The answer is no he is not a pedophile. Yes they were young, I am sure he liked the innocent minds and the way they interacted with him. As they said he was interacting as a young teen would on a early date. Kissing and cuddling.

  • Elvis was way too old for those girls, but he was probably had the same mental maturity level. It was wrong, though. When I was 16, a male nurse that I met at church camp asked me out. To my shock on the date, I found out he was somewhere around 28, divorced, had a child, and was a Vietnam vet. (This was in the early 1970s.) I turned him down when he called again. My parents asked why because they thought he seemed nice (and thought he was 18-19.) They were shocked when I told them his background! A man with that much life experience has nothing in common with a 16-year-old girl, so I felt that my body must be what he was going to be after. My Dad let him know that I was “jail bait” and not to call again.

  • My mom was 18 when she married my dad, 42 and divorced. They were married the next 45 years till he died. She was a virgin. I was born 10 months later. It was not uncommon in the 50’s,60’s and prior. Her mom and dad were happy with it as he could support her and a few years later – her parents. Times were different. In the 80s I moved to GA for a nursing job and girls still married at age 13,14,15, 16 to older guys and started a family. It was all about having an innocent girl who would be a good wife. It can also be about arrested development on a guy’s part. If the girl or the parent did not approve of the guy, it was over. Also, Elvis rarely had intercourse per all his friends because he had a lot of foreskin, it would tear, get sore, bleed. His friends told him to get it circumsized but he was too scared. He’d rather cuddle. I have dozens of Elvis books, some mean, some by his friends. You do not hear a lot of bad stories from the gals or their parents. He liked to have gals as friends. He even liked talking about makeup and skin care. He did not have a lot of friends till the end of high school. Pedophilia involves an intent.

  • JosannaMonik The interview w/ Piers Morgan, Priscilla told him that Elvis bought her clothes bc she needed them. She would go to Vegas and be around well known celebrities. She needed a new wardrobe even before Vegas. Elvis had learned how to transition himself from a poor kid to making movies, appearing on tv being around long time established celebs. I don’t believe he controlled her. He taught her what he had learned. He was also extremely generous with his money. Lots of girls that dated Elvis and hung around Graceland never said he was controlling. This is something some people took out of context.♥️🎶🎤🎸🎶🔥⚡

  • In the 40s 50s and 60s couples met and were married and had children at a early time in their lives There was an age gap at times and girls were married as young as 16-19 It was socially accepted back then as normal My mom used to tell me all her friends were married and had at least one child before they were 20 and they used to tell my mom she is old now to have kids She had her first child at 24 and that was considered old.

  • It was a different time then. Elvis was a Southern gentleman and treated everyone with respect. Even though he was much older in years he felt more comfortable around younger people. It wasn’t just young ladies. He liked hanging out with his stepbrothers who were years younger than Elvis. It may have had something to do with his Momma treating him as her little boy even as he got older. I mean he was so shy and liked so many things that the younger people did. Maybe it made him feel like a teenager again. Precilla once bought him a race car set for Christmas and he loved it. All I know is that I have never heard anyone say that Elvis tried to do anything out of the way with them. I only care about all of the great music he left us with to enjoy. Elvis was a very special person. There will never be anyone like him. God blessed us by giving us Elvis.

  • It’s so tiresome that people keep hurling accusations at a man who is dead. My mom was 15 when she married my dad during WWII right before he went to the South Pacific. My dad was 4 years older. Although she was not allowed out of her mother’s living room, my mom began dating a college man who was going to become a preacher. She and my father fell in love at first sight when they were introduced. She was 12. She kicked the preacher to the curb “courted” with my dad until they married. They headed out to San Diego and were married for almost 40 years until his death. Come to think of it, my grandmother married my grandad when she was 14. It’s illegal now, but that was then. Get over it.

  • All I can say is I don’t believe a lot of this but some I do. He’s being labeled a pedophile when he wasn’t why do they come out with stuff like this when he’s not here to defend himself. And age has nothing to do with if a couple are in love look at Abraham and Sara in the Bible they were 10 years apart did God go against them, no

  • Times were different. She pursued him. He dated grown up women. This is thanks to his ex-wife’s book and recent film painting him as a paedophile. Why can’t you leave him the hell alone. He’s been dead almost 50 years and obviously he can’t defend himself or even talk about these images and segments of memories in the context in which they took place. Assuming they took place at all. She paints him as a control freak and abusive but yet he was the love of he life and she wants to be buried as close to her ex as she can get. Not her daughter, not her grandson, her abusive, predatory ex husband.

  • The reason the whole “under age” thing is so “monstrous” now as opposed back then is because back then people didn’t really care that much unless there was a complaint. Back then people were far more concerned about the sexual deviance that people now march in parades boasting about. By the way, words have meaning and a “pedophile” is somebody who is interested in pre-pubescent kids. Not somebody interested in teens under the legal age of consent, which is varied across the world and even in US states.

  • Several of the experienced women who had ‘been with’ Elvis were unimpressed with his performance in the bedroom. Therefore I believe what is attributed to Priscilla here is true. He was more comfortable with inexperienced teenagers… and if a woman had previously had a child, there was no chance of intercourse. There is no way to confirm how far things went with these 14 year olds when they were alone at Graceland. But we know that his management team were aware of how it all would look and how it could damage his career.

  • I grew up in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I spent time in many different communities. It was normal for girls this age to date older boys/men. At some point it became inappropriate. I’m not sure when..maybe with the hashtag me too thing. I don’t know any girl who feels traumatized because they dated someone older back then.

  • Oh for god sake, get over yourselves already. In 1959 when Priscilla met Elvis, it would have been nothing unusual for a 14 year old girl to date a guy. Hell, my first date was when I was 13 and the guy was 20 ( I looked a lot older and my sister lied about how old we really were). Up until very recently, girls dated young and were married by the time they were 18 or 19. Trying to make out that Elvis was a pedophile is just ridiculous.

  • I grew up in the 60s, I had a girl friend that got married at 14 years old ‘ I was pretty surprised that her father signed a consent form, that allows older men to marry these young girls ‘ my grandma on my mother’s side, she got married at this age’ she said it was common ‘ oh, no my I’m on my son’s account here😅 so funny I do it alot’ this is mum’ oh the thing about our friend that married so young, she looked like a 21 year old’ she was the whole package’ my sister got married at 16 years old, but she looked older looked older than 16,

  • so what what man hasn’t done that one after a younger girl especially a Southern Man my husband was 9 years older than me was that wrong oh please you don’t know what Elvis did or anything like that so why do you make comments like that you’re trying to cut out Elvis Presley down a good man like Elvis I don’t believe a word you say were you there with Elvis Presley everybody’s trying to get on the ACT with Elvis Presley shame on all of you and shame on this lady

  • The ladies interviewed had nothing but nice things to say about Elvis – he didn’t cross the line, and, as was brought up by several of the women, that sort of age gap was not unusual in the south at that time. It just takes an ugly press like this Laura Sparks to malign a human being that gave us so much.

  • This is a dispicable hit piece by 60 Minutes Laura Sparks. Absolutely outragous. She really likes to use the p-word. Go look up the definition – do any of the ladies interviewed here describe anything like that? NO – they have nothing but the kindest things to say about him. And even worse, 60 Minutes and Laura Sparks are lessoning the severity and horror of the p-word. This is tabloid news at its worst.

  • There are so many stupid ignorant people that have commented on here. He did nothing wrong. This story about him is full of lies and is garbage and nonsense. All the women he was with were of legal age. It was also different in the past. In all societies in the past it was normal for people to be married at 13 14 15 and 16. There are also still societies where it is normal for people to be married at those ages.

  • Why do people these days insist upon judging the social norms of the past through the lenses of today’s values? It was a completely different time period. We didn’t think about such things the same way then as we do now. It’s entirely possible that 50 years from today, since the human brain isnt fully developed until the age of 25, that will become the defacto age of consent. Would it be fair for people to look back on our time, and vilify anyone who dated someone in their early 20s while they were in their late 20s or early 30s? It’s fine for society to adopt new values but it’s wildly unfair to apply those new values retroactively to previous generations.

  • I agree that in the 30s, 40s and 50s it was the norm for 14 years old to date men in their 20s in the south of the USA, but the problem is this continued into the 70s where it was not the norm. He knew if he had been caught he would have gone to prison even in the 50s. No i am not taking out the historical context of his times but a guy in his late 30s going with 14 years is questionable. Paedophile as word did not exist out side medical journals but child molester did. No i am not saying he was well not in the 50s but as time changed and he grew older he should have backed off big time and he did not. I believe that why Elvis did not question the 50% stake Parker got in around 1970, he had the dirt on him, may be some movies or articles that put him in a bad light. No one gives 50% of their earning without a fight not unless they are scared. Also i believe the mob and his groupies had a thing on Elvis as well. His mates knew what he was doing was crossing the line. What i think is the parents of the young girls allowed them to go to Elvis because they were thought they may have a chance to marry him, or at least use a big plus for their family. Basically they turned a blind eye to it. Now if a man who was not Elvis did the same, he would have told to go away or get a visit from the boys or the police if you know what i mean. 150 years ago it was the norm for 12 years to get married in the US and other countries, but as society changed the age limit rose, till what we have now. Its totally unacceptable for a man in his mid to late 30s to date or even marry a 15 or a 16 year old etc.

  • We live in the dumbest period in history and its just gonna get worse. When you’re the type who likes to “virtue signal”, going after the people of past eras by the standards of your average modern liberal is the lowest hanging fruit available for already shallow and judgemental people. The propagandist host even get all bothered when the so-called VICTIMS don’t see themselves as victims. Maybe its cos theyre from an era when being a victim wasnt trendy and taking personal responsibility for your own actions was the norm. They wern’t forced against their will. Elvis a pedophile? At least use the proper terminolgy and call him a pederast if you gotta slap a label on him. Pedophiles are attracted to prepubecent children, pederasts are attracted to teenagers. There’s a rather significant difference. They’re also going to have to go after every rock star in history who didnt bother checking IDs of the groupies throwing themselves at them.

  • The people in the comment scetion endlessly defending this man are ignorant, saying it was “normal” doesnt’ mean it’s not wrong, think about the racism and poverty/inequality that was going on during this time, it was NORMAL and still very very WRONG and some progressive people irrefutably called it out for being immoral. So answer me this, if this was SO “normal” why did he hide it so much? you can say sexual affairs would ruin his image but he was already known for his activities with women throughout his career but he SPECIFICALLY hid this from people btw, hence why he waited so long to marry priscilla, for him it was a sexual and mental thing. The type of weird stuff he was into would not be tolerated by adult women and they would not be so easy to get away with harming nor would they be so easily manipulated and aren’t as easily to please, children to him were in his control. If your grandparents “back in the day” oppressed someone just because they were different to them would you say “oh it was normal then!” or would you say they failed to better and its embarrassing? he HID HER AGE FOR A REASON, when it was “normal” it was still seen as backwards hence why (once again) HE HID IT FROM PEOPLE. I am sick and tired of people defending celebrities with their life as if they knew them, its time to acknowledge people aren’t who we thought they were and stop undermining the people who ACTUALLY HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE.

  • Say what you will, he had no business with little girls like this. Its pretty obvious there was something going on with him that he couldn’t develop an intimate and sustainable relationship with an adult. Its actually sad. Wouldn’t surprise me if the drugs and alcohol were self medication that got out of control. Being famous may open a lot of doors but it doesn’t clean him, not even his girls happy reviews change that. To me he prepped them well and they still don’t understand his behavior was out of line.

  • People didn’t live as long back then. They had to complete life events quicker. Women had few options after high school (if they completed it at all) other than teaching, nursing, or being a secretary. To find a man to marry was a main goal back then for young ladies rather than today’s milestones like going to uni, finding a FT job, buying a house or moving out of home. Career aspirations took over. I’m not saying I condone their relationship and by today’s standards it’s problematic. But he loved Priscilla and vice versa. It seems girls getting married underage back then was quite acceptable as long as the parents approved.

  • Ann Margaret said there relationship faltered because she was as famous as he was with her own career and he didnt like that, he had grown up with the old fashioned southern idea of molding a young wife to look after the home and cook and to have a family while the man hunts and gathers. He was looking for a young wife which he eventually settled on in Priscilla.

  • Jerry Lee Lewis married his wife (who I think was a second cousin) when she was 13 and he was 22. Not dated but married – it got him kicked out of the UK when they went there and was scandalous to large parts of the USA at the time. To hear these women tell their stories you realize that they were basically safe with him at graceland it’s just that through today’s cultural lens its kind of weird, now look in the comments at the women who said they would have done the same thing at 14 with him.

  • What a great experience this ladies had!! They all smile and have wonderful memories. You can see how that bring light to their eyes and make them feel alive! And what a respectful man he was that never violated or had sex with any of them. Different times now☺! I do remember when I was 14 my classmates were very active sexually and I born in 1982. Guess that this beautiful ladies kissing the King of Rock rather than having crazy sex with other guys was a real deal🤭. Hope the media dont take this out of proportion, they are experts hurting the legacy of whoever they want.

  • I don’t believe any of this at all. He dated Ann Margaret and women from his movies. He didn’t even sleep with Priscilla till he married her and she was 21. I don’t like people talking about anyone after they’ve passed away because they can’t defend themselves. Whenever I watched Elvis he was with women. Anyone can say that they dated Elvis it doesn’t have to be true. They are just dreaming. All lies. 😡

  • First, the reporter doesn’t know what a pedophile is (someone attracted to PREpubescent kids. 14 is hardly prepubescent). Second, all these women said that they never consummated the relationships. Third, 14 year old girls looked so much older back then than they do now. I look at a yearbook, thinking the students are college students, when in fact, they’re high school students. And the part about 14 will get you 20, I doubt that was the case back then, since 14 was the age of consent in quite a few states. I looked up the history of the age of consent laws and was shocked to find that 7 was the age of consent in at least some, if not all of the colonies. Of course, maybe it didn’t matter, since your neighbor would probably take the law into their own hands, if they caught you raping their kids.

  • I’m sorry to say this to anybody who’s an Elvis fan but for him to be a Pado in mess with a 14 year old girl when he had so many women that were ready to jump across stage didn’t get to him. Instead, he would pop pills and use drugs and touch underage women, and this is your king of rock and roll. But then yet you say Michael Jackson was a pedophile, but all he wanted to do was live out his childhood life that he missed out. So I think it’s time to set the record straight and take Michael Jackson off of that list and add all this. Presley on there, because if you really think about it. People allowed him to marry a 14 year old woman, which is illegal unless you’re in Mexico in another state or another country, not state. I’m sorry to say that means when you’re in the industry. That means the industry lies in a cover up everything. I find it funny that everybody said Michael Jackson was touching kids but had no evidence on him. But yet Elvis admits marrying a 14 year old using drugs. Getting them all hooked on drugs. And you guys look at him as King of Rock and Roll that is sad. What does this world come to if I was alive? At the same time melodies was alive he’d be going through the wood chipper

  • I am 86 so was in Elvis’s generation and I remember when I first heard teddy bear in 1956, how wonderful he sounded to me, yet when I saw him on Ed Sullivan show how young he looked. He was 21 but looked much younger. Twenty one year Olds were married with houses and families and elvis just looked like a teen ager having fun with his music. I absolutely believe elvis had arrested development and was a boy In a man’s body like red west said . So elvis enjoyed necking and kissing like all the teen agers of the time. You just did not go “all the way” This was my Era
