What Kind Of Lifestyle Is Bodybuilding?

Bodybuilding is a comprehensive approach to physical fitness that emphasizes muscle development and strength training. It involves weight training, cardiovascular exercise, and a specific diet. The bodybuilding lifestyle is one of dedication, discipline, and perseverance, positively impacting both physical and mental health. The supportive community surrounding bodybuilding can provide motivation and inspiration.

The bodybuilding diet emphasizes lean protein to protect and build muscle, as well as antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables and nutrient-rich complex carbohydrates. Bodybuilding, weight training, and aerobic exercise improve energy levels, while the brain and mind need mental stimulation. Bodybuilding for beginners is the ultimate guide for those new to strength training and interested in getting started in bodybuilding.

However, bodybuilding has its cons, such as character and mentality, little freedom and flexibility, and feeling like you don’t belong in society. A health-building lifestyle involves regular exercise, a muscle-growing fat-deflecting diet, nutrient supplementation, and adequate rest.

Bodybuilding is not solely about building muscles; it’s a holistic lifestyle that encompasses discipline, nutrition, goal-setting, and progressive resistance exercise. By engaging in bodybuilding, individuals can build, control, and develop their muscles via hypertrophy. Bodybuilding is more than just a sport; it’s a lifestyle choice that encompasses physical and mental strength, nutrition, community, and balance.

In summary, bodybuilding is a comprehensive approach to physical fitness that emphasizes muscle development, strength training, and a balanced diet. It is not just a pastime but a lifestyle choice that can significantly improve one’s quality of life.

What is the concept of bodybuilding?

The practice of bodybuilding entails the performance of exercises with the objective of inducing hypertrophy in the musculoskeletal system. This is achieved by gradually increasing the load on the muscles through the use of resistance training, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the aesthetic appearance of the muscles.

Is 25 too old to build muscle?

Age affects muscle growth, with a gradual reduction in mass, strength, and power occurring as part of the normal aging process. This decline starts around the age of 30, with a sudden increase from around the age of 50. Studies report 1-2 lean muscle mass loss per year and a 3 muscle strength loss per year after the age of 60. This loss can have devastating consequences, including reduced independence, ability to carry out functional activities, reduced quality of life, and even early death. Lower muscle mass is also associated with chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer. However, it is possible to take control of this decline.

What are the downsides of being a bodybuilder?

Bodybuilding can have numerous disadvantages, including the risk of injury, health issues due to extreme diets and supplement use, financial costs, and time and social sacrifices. In an upcoming blog, the blog will explore these hidden health risks and negative effects of bodybuilding. Oxcloth offers muscle fit shirts designed to complement and move with the physique of bodybuilders. The blog will also discuss the psychological downsides of bodybuilding, providing tips on how to navigate this challenging path while staying stylish.

What is the hardest age to build muscle?

Sarcopenia, a loss of muscle mass and strength as we age, is a significant factor in physical decline. Muscle mass and strength typically increase from birth and peak at around 30 to 35 years of age. However, they decline slowly and linearly at first, and then faster after age 65 for women and 70 for men. This decline can be slowed down by maintaining an active lifestyle, which can help maintain mobility and independence into later life. NIA scientist Eric Shiroma, Sc.

D., advocates for activities that add an extra challenge to daily routines, such as turning a walk into “rucking” by wearing a weighted vest or backpack while exercising. Understanding how and why our bodies change with age and how these changes can vary from person to person is crucial for understanding the range of responses to exercise.

Do bodybuilders drink alcohol?

Bodybuilders may occasionally consume alcohol, but it is important to maintain a balanced approach to avoid affecting their hydration, weight, and performance. Moderation is crucial, as alcohol can disrupt workouts and meal plans. It is essential to understand the balance between alcohol and fitness goals, as it doesn’t necessarily end your goals. Alcohol consumption can also impact muscle growth, as it can block muscle protein synthesis, which is crucial for muscle repair and building after workouts.

While alcohol provides 7 calories per gram, it is not the only factor affecting muscle growth. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully consider when and how much alcohol is consumed to ensure long-term health and progress.

Are body builders actually healthy?

Bodybuilders engage in resistance and aerobic training for the purpose of maintaining and building muscles. This practice has been demonstrated to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, and other critical illnesses. The practice of aerobic exercise has been demonstrated to assist in the reduction of body fat and the improvement of cardiovascular health, which represents a significant cause of mortality in the United States. In addition to exercise, bodybuilders also prioritize nutrition.

What is a bodybuilding lifestyle?

Bodybuilding is a progressive resistance exercise that focuses on building, controlling, and developing muscles through hypertrophy. Bodybuilders engage in this activity for aesthetic purposes, distinguishing it from similar activities like powerlifting and calisthenics. In competitive bodybuilding, competitors perform specific poses for a panel of judges based on conditioning, muscularity, posing, size, stage presentation, and symmetry.

Bodybuilders prepare for competitions by exercising and eliminating non-essential body fat, which is enhanced by carbohydrate loading and dehydration to achieve maximum muscle definition and vascularity. Most bodybuilders also tan and shave their bodies before competition.

To achieve desired results, bodybuilders need significant time and effort. A novice bodybuilder can gain 8-15 pounds of muscle per year if they lift weights for seven hours per week. Muscle gains slow down after the first two years, and after five years, gains can decrease to 3-10 pounds per year. Some bodybuilders use performance-enhancing drugs to build muscles and recover from injuries faster, but these can have serious health risks. Most competitions prohibit the use of these substances, and the National Physique Committee does not require drug testing.

The study found that psychiatric disorders are prevalent in bodybuilders, comparable to the general population. However, there was no significant difference in the prevalence of psychiatric disorders between performance-enhancing drugs (PED) users and non-users. This suggests that performance-enhancing drugs do not increase the risk of psychiatric disorders in bodybuilders. The Iranian Ministry of Sport and Youth financially supported the investigation, and the Deputy for Research of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences provided valuable assistance.

Dr. Ali Hamidi coordinated the project and assisted in the survey. The authors declare no conflict of interests and the investigation team performed all aspects of the survey, including design, collection, management, analysis, preparation, review, and manuscript approval.

What age do bodybuilders peak?

In sports where strength and muscle mass are the primary determinants of performance, athletes peak later. Powerlifters reach their prime on average at age 35. However, research on bodybuilders is scarce due to the inability to measure performance objectively. The greatest bodybuilders of all time, as judged by the Mr. Olympia competition, were all in their prime until at least in their 30s. Arnold Schwarzenegger, 7-time Mr. Olympia, made a comeback in his early 30s before re-retiring.

Lee Haney dominated the Mr. Olympia for 8 years until he retired undefeated in his early 30s. Dorian Yates won the Mr. Olympia 6 consecutive times until he retired due to injuries. Ronnie Coleman started his reign as the greatest bodybuilder for 8 years, but was pushed down to a silver medal in his early 40s. Jay Cutler took the last of his 4 Mr. Olympia titles in his late 30s. Phil Heath reigned for 7 years as Mr. Olympia, and Shawn Rhoden was the first person to beat him at age 43.

  • I’m absolutely stunned that this article is still here after all these years. At the time this article was first released, I was addicted to Bodybuilding, and couldn’t literally live without it, and this was my all-time favorite article before going to the gym and kicking some serious ass. I can even see my old comment here 13 years ago. Even though I was addicted, I loved that journey to death which brought me great joy and happiness. I think everyone should be on top of the world at least once in their lifetime to see what it really feels like, although I would recommend always having a backup plan or two. Because what comes up, must come down…

  • Blood, Sweat, and Tears! hands down bodybuilding is not only physically tough to conquer but it is as much a mental game…The ability to wake everyday and not want to workout is so tough you don’t feel like going on but seeing yourself in the mirror is never been so rewarding. the weight lifters high is when you get that lil’ result and the gym is your new best friend…”Lift heavy, or go Home!” Coach Bauer Crpt. NM.

  • Bodybuilding is not just lifting…It’s a lifestyle. At first I believe bodybuilding was just lifting until I got into it..There is so much to learn from it! You need to learn about proper diets, training, etc. Certain foods react with certain training, certain workouts builds muscles differently etc. Steroids can’t get you this by itself…It takes dedication, sacrifice, courage, determination, etc. to get to this point…Big props to these guys for busting their ass!

  • @steroidsR4losers It doesn’t matter if he takes steroids are not, he is still one of the hardest and most dedicated bodybuilders to ever live. Steroids only supply to make your muscles bigger. That has nothing to do with the work that is needed to put in to break down the muscles which are restored by steroids. I would still like to see how much better you are then them.

  • Some people want absolute greatness and the immortality that comes with it. Everyone does not understand this hunger. So we compete for different reasons. I see you dont understand. You dont get it. We need more from ourselves so we must put more in ourselves. Simple equation. Call it what you like. But it really makes no difference to those with the hunger.

  • @steroidsR4losers Here’s the deal, buddy. Yes, steroids are bad for you and come with too many consequences, and to me, just aren’t worth the money or the risk. The body wasn’t made to be so abused and ravaged by chemicals. HOWEVER, who are you or anyone else to determine what another human being does to their body? If these guys want to grow man tits, an enlarged heart, have raging emotions, and shrunken balls then fuck it. Let em’ have it. Don’t even get me started on the women who do this.

  • Body builders are the same way. Working out can be a good way to get healthy and become more attractive, but professional body building is not medically healthy, or generally considered attractive. Body builders have all of the psychological hangups and anorexics, they sacrifice health and attractiveness because of their obsession, and even though they are too big to be healthy or attractive they don’t feel big enough. In fact, psychologist have even began to call body building Big-orexia.

  • @orangliwhoomba NO, I am very open mind about everything, but you cant blame me for have an opinion. The same way I respect you I think I should be respected too. You know, one of the beauty things in life is to respect others no matter what back ground they came from. And for the record I was sec place Mr. Gay RI, defending the gay rights and encouraging ppl to come out and be themselves. But I didnt like this article, the guy most be one of those that like men but bash gay ppl.

  • You’re right!Bodybuilders of the past look much better and they’re like some gladiators,’cause there was the food, the iron to pump and man with determination, strong will(also some basic steroids,BUT not like today at all)that’s all was available for them.Despite these things nevertheless they were huge, great looking, proportionals. That’s i can respect really!!!THIS IS BODYBUILDING!!!Besides upon perusal this vid you can see guys doing exercises by very irregular method .That’s funny, vid is okay

  • @Yakinabottle fine, w/e man. I’ll tell you wat you wanna hear: you’re right, I’m wrong. Just shut up PLEASE. I will say one more thing tho. It’s probably just gonna set you off again but at this point, Idc anymore: steroids don’t get tired from working out, they just make you recover faster. I believe lactic acid is wat makes you tired from working out and I also believe there’s no way to keep your body from producing it. I’m not on roids, I’m just well educated and I’m open to any

  • @Mitchzor1337 its not the cheating aspect that bothers me, i think if someone chooses to use steroids it’s their call. but steroids have so many negative effects on the human body that they should be discouraged by people really trying to maximize their health. these guys are ridiculously strong and big, but their livers and adrenal glands will be destroyed by the time they enter old age

  • @WcWGoldbergWcW Cut out on calouries. More cardio. Regular meals to speed up your metabolism which will help you burn fat alot quicker. All I can recommend to you is strip the fat first then start adding the muscle. It’s hard to do both. And at 6’3 you will look like a master piece when you’ve got dense, hard and defined muscle on your frame. Message me for any questions you have and I’ll help you the best I can dude.

  • what age did you start gaining serious Weight, was you a teenager or was it in your 20’s because i’m 18 6’3 weighing 200 pounds, but i don’t Seem To Be Putting On Any More Weight, I Am Alot Bigger Than Most People My Age, do i need to eat more or Will I Gain Weight Easier s I Get Older ? Should I Start Taking protein shakes? am i not eating enough because i Want Bulk Up And I’m Not Really Sure How Much I Am Supposed to be eating, am i supposed to b eating like 5000 calories per day for my size?

  • @apepavaknip That’s like saying the top baseball players take steroids, or the world’s faster sprinters. Natural bodybuilders know all too well the effort it takes in nutrition because we have to be even more strict than the steroid users, and yes we train just as hard too although not as often because our bodies take longer to recover. I’m not saying I want steroids users out of the sport, but you can’t say they’re any better than natural bodybuilders, comparing the two just isn’t fair.

  • TO THE ANTI STEROID COMMENTS – If only it were that easy, if only you could shoot up, lift weights and grow, without having to force feed 6000 calories a day, if only you didnt have to train till you puke and go through constant pain, from the moment you lift to your next workout. If only it was that easy, how I WISH it were. Noobs who think “yeah i’ll try steroids” not knowing the consequences are the ones who are the losers, just like the close minded people who think its oh so easy…

  • @Terreos I think you misunderstood me slightly. Firstly I wasn’t questioning YOUR knowledge on the subject. It was directed at a comment you made to steroidsR4losers and was aimed at HIS lack of genuine insight into the subject . Secondly, I’ve been training clean for 11 years myself and am failry well schooled on the subject of steroids having trained with guys that use. I’ve learned first hand that they’re not a magic potion and the diet and workouts to get great results are far more involved.

  • @Skidms9 I weight train. And I don’t take steroids.(You can choose to believe me or not.) But, what I’ve learned that without supplements in your diet such as protein(If you don’t eat enough)or anyother mineral you WON’T get stronger or bigger. Steroids aren’t inherently bad as they are used for medical reasons to help grow back lost muscle strength and mass. So I know my material. Maybe you shouldn’t point your finger when you’re the one that likely doesn’t know anything about the subject.

  • @default1011 No point in arguing with idiots, they will never understand the dedication these guys put in, nor the fact that even with steroids most people dont have the desire to ever achieve this level. Steroids are a part of bodybuilding, to achieve the level of success these guys have they are necessary. On a side note, most other sports are flooded with steroids, HGH or a multitude of other things. Dont be so fucking naive.

  • @RenegadeKira23 calories dont make u fat… calories come from protein, carbs and fat. if he eats 7000 calories from fat souces or simple carbs yes he will get fat but if hes taking 7000 calories in the correct portions of protein, carbs, and fat. This is the outcome. in order to gain weight (muscle) u need to turn food into it. amount of calorie intake and weight of a person are directly related. u cant be 300 lbs on a 2.500kilocalorie intake. its impossible i eat like roughly 3k-3.5and im 180

  • @canadianhammerfist 7000 calories a day will happily make you very FAT not muscular, if you want to be BIG, you gotta eat less calories and exercise more! HARD WORK, HARCORE WORKOUTS! More Compound exercises(squats, deadlifts, bench press, etc,) than isolation (ex. bicep curls) these dudes have strict muscle building diets, the more calories the more fat, the less muscle able to be built because of the fat, Fat wont turn into muscle! thats one complete myth and utter BS

  • @MrJamesc91 5 40mgs/day 1000mgs/week 200mgs/week 4 IUs/day 6 40mgs/day 1000mgs/week 4 IUs/day 7 50mgs/day 1000mgs/week 200mgs/week 4 IUs/day 8 50mgs/day 1000mgs/week 4 IUs/day 9 50mgs/day 1000mgs/week 200mgs/week 4 IUs/day 10 50mgs/day 1000mgs/week 4 IUs/day Besides sthe fact that it was in the 1970’s, i dont see why would u even think he wasnt on steroids!!!!!!!! Steroids were in bodybuilding even before that!

  • @1000pakistan hey dude, im 17 so i nknow not to take steroids for a few years yet, but im trying to find out all the stuff i need to know about roids (actual type, dosages, time when to take them, what to take them with with thier dosages etc) a lot of websites and people i know are unwilling to discuss them, so any information you could share would be greatly apprciated 🙂

  • For all of you roid-haters. Why do you even worry about how other people want to build or compete? If you want to compete natural then do that you have that right. If other people want to compete otherwise they have that right. Why does it even bother or concern you. Just worry about commenting or posting on article’s or sites that promote natural.Otherwise shut the hell up.

  • For everyone who thinks these people are not on steriods or think you can get just as big without steriods are wrong. There all on steroids that’s why they call it untested bodybuilding which is just a nice way of saying steroid bodybuilding. if there not on steroids they go into natural bodybuilding. Now for the people who think im agaist untested bodybuilding and the olympia i’m not i love this sport, untested bodybuilding takes more work than clean bodybuilding, big respect to them all.

  • You always hear how people put down roids, but when they get near us,,they are like wow look how big this guy is,lol, hey steriodsR4losers,im 6 feet 285 pds solid, i am in great health, have a nice house, nice cars, great wife, money in the bank, etc, i am very successful,,,so tell me how the hell am i a loser?Let go of the nerd rage you got, and start working out, and leave the rest of us alone

  • sick article but i hate how the sound is off by like 2 seconds….unless its just my connection,,,it used to be spot on…fav bodybuilding article steroids is not cheating if thats what you need just to compete at this level…you will never ever see a natural compare to any of these guys…for all you haters hit the gym and stop flaming these articles clearly you have nothing better to do….LIGHT WEIGHT BABY!

  • the back is huge, no doubt, lots of muscles that are strong so train it with heavy weight right? the forearms are part of the “arm” train them with “arms”. thats my belief u know… and besides the bigger ur forearms are the smaller ur bis and tris look… starts to make ur arm look like a tube. thats kinda like saying if u cant do a lift without a belt u shouldnt use that much weight… why limit one part of ur body for the shortcomings of another?

  • looks like you have got a little bit of roid rage their buddy. no need to go cursing me out and all over a comment that is not offensive to anybody. oh and started in the gym a year ago i go 5 days a week and i know how much determination it takes and i only go a fraction of the amount that the guys in this article do, im not taking anything a way from these guys im just saying its their life and their choice

  • the best way to keep growing I’ve found is by alternation of a rep range of 6 to 10, 12 at the most. 3 or sets of 6 for building mass and strength, and changing to doing sets of 10-12 to build muscle endurance, but don’t back of weight too much, that just improves being weak…most importantly though are not missing any meals, eating just more quality calories than your body burns, not just eating a lot of crap, drinking plenty of water, getting at least 8 hours sleep everynight….

  • Good points, also good points by HavokUSMC0311. I would also have to say one MAJOR difference between Arnold and the modern guys is the intro of HGH into the sport. IMO, HGH has really hurt the sport. Not that these guys today aren’t freaky and truly impressive in their own right, but I think the guys back in the day (Arnold, Zane, Sergio, etc.) looked the best hands down.

  • These comments show you have no understanding of what it means to do something for yourself. the isolation. the intrigue. the ability to push yourself each and everyday; to focus. it isn’t about the women, the media, we don’t care what YOU think. I’m sure there are aspects of your lives that rival the commitment needed to achieve what is deemed impossible. To us… it’s about being better; better than we were yesterday, better than we’re going to be tomorrow.

  • I’m surprised..I thought you we’re bullshiting about the degree..U know your stuff…I’m in 101 of phyics at Brown University…But I still disagree with ya on the attractive comments..Unless you’ve lived this life you have no room to comment or even talk at all on the subject of attarctness while being a bodybuilder..You can throw all your facts but I know what is true and what I’ve been through….

  • ” Ok now you’re being ignorant! Some girls like bodybuilders! You have no idea what girls like cause they all have different opinions about what they want. Shit..I’ve gotten every girl i’ve gone after and I’m a bodybuilder!!” girls who are thin are generally regarded to be more attractive that girls who are fat, BUT most guys have a limit on that, as in, the thinner the better only goes so far before a girl is TOO thin Statistical surveys show that the same is true with girls and guys muscles.

  • For people who are over weight, loosing weight can be a way to become more healthy and more attractive. But it should always be becoming healthy and more attractive that is the goal and not just loosing weight. Loosing weight should be the method, not the goal. Some people have obsessive personalities combined with body dismorphic disorder (the in ability to see themselves how the truly are, or how other see them) and they loose weight obsessively and always feel that they are overweight…

  • “you’re the one who started in with defining what is attractive. So far, all I’m reading are your opinions” I make is a point to never base anything I say on my own opinions What I said is that according to most women there is an optimal muscle range with regrades to attractiveness In other words, a man can have too little OR too much Working out a moderate amount makes you more healthier and more attractive Body building like the guys in the article makes you less healthy and less attractive

  • “herbzilla12, it’s obvious that you don’t subscribe to many of the beliefs you promote here. Take for example your statement that it is just as important to develope ones mind as it is ones body. Looking at your spelling alone you are clearly not the scholar you seem to think you are.” You think because I make typos on my you tube posts that I’m not a smart person? I got degree in physics that begs to differ. But none of that even matters. A fact is a fact regardless of who says it.

  • “My girl loves my muscle” And mine loves my mind AND my body. And I work our 3 times a weak to keep myself strong and healthy, but exercising everyday is not healthy. This is a fact. Your body is not who you are, its just a shell. Being obsessed with how you look makes no sense. If you want to improve yourself you should play a sport or take up an instrument or learn to cook or do more reading.

  • Body building is just allowing yourself to cater to your own terrible self image. What you look like is the least important aspect of who you are. Spending all of your time developing your body instead of developing your mind makes you a knuckle dragging caveman. Body buildings is a real addiction that can corrupt/take over every single aspect of your like. The people who let themselves get taken over are just weak.

  • Hi there, have you considered “Musclegend” (search on Google)? There you will find a useful free article showing the best way to build up notable muscles fast. It made it possible for James to break through his body building plateau and develop chiseled lean muscle free of fat very fast. It may work for you too.

  • haha.. lol.. @natashajames me too. That site: MusclesMaximizer (d0t) info is d bomb! Those trainers who dont know their somatotype need not to worry cause the program comes with a step instruction of how to determine it. It will be presented to wide variety of foods, making it easy for them to select the ones that meet their nutritional needs.

  • I laugh at all these comments ” Steroids are bad “. I’m certain people on steroids train quite a bit harder then those that don’t. There’s nothing wrong with it in my opinion, It’s not cheating if it’s allowed. Plus most people don’t get it, it’s more then just lifting weights. – Just In My Opinion.

  • @BayouCityMan Sorry but glutamine and Arginine are basically worthless in healthy humans. Assuming your eating a high protein diet(which) you should be there is no reason to supplement with glutamine. If you want to enhance no, look into gplc or nitrates, those are the only 2 things that have some legit research behind them.

  • @Greenmin5 😛 i do not agree at all!, maybe if u go to the gym 2 times a week or soemthing, but im going 5-6 times aweek. When u train ur chest u also stimulate ur tricep, so thats why its best to train that also. just the same as that its good to train your biceps afther trianing your back. trust me i know what im talking about

  • @MrEvga i gife u right, all day gife comment is also wrong but stereodsR4losers do have realy points there, evrey anabolic is a cheater, onley aand a big body sometimes nothing for some ppl haha makes me sometimes laughing. but i do get also u point, there is a edge off commnets, hope u understand this english i still learning

  • Good article. To all the haters- Whether or not these guys are using drugs will never take away from the fact that they are working harder than you ever will in your life. Keep in mind drugs or not, bench presses and squats aren’t natural either. And neither are any “performance/look enhancers.” So just shut up and enjoy what they have to offer.

  • actualy they work out for maybe 1 hour few times a week. If thier on steroids maybe 1.5 hours. Im a natural bodybuilder and i only train 3 times a week for 1 hour. Theirs also something called hit training where you only train for 20-30 min thats it. And in return you get health vitality and a better body.

  • Can’t people just be into something, period?Instead of “I find iron to be my only friend”-bla-bla-BS?What the # does this jerk think he is,a poet or something? When your neck is wider than your head, don’t consider yourself an intellectual for #’s sake! It’s alright to not know why you do something, most people don’t…

  • TrippleLee, thank you. That was very well said. We bodybuilders love pur job and we take it pretty seriouly that we get good results out of it. As for those who says that we use steroids, (that means you SteroidsR4Losers), STFU and stay out of our way, and when you’re ready to say positive comments about us natural bodybuilders, you let us know.

  • no whey protein, creatine and various other supplements can be found in food naturally where on the other hand steroids cant that’s what i think he means by “natural” and there are some huge natural bodybuilders granted there not as big as the ones on steroids but just because there natural doesn’t mean there small

  • bodybuilding will always be controversial, anytime people see the extremes of any aspect of life it will stir controversy. Of course these guys take steroids but they are making a life choice the same way a person who likes to eat too much does. I would never touch the stuff but it is their life and their decision so who cares

  • sure these guys take steroids but they wouldn’t bother wasting their time and money with steroids if they weren’t 100% committed to their training, diet, and rest, which is something most people can’t do. Because lets face it, these guys are animals. Not many people have the mental strength/endurance that these guys have to do what they do.

  • you guys defending the bodybuilders dont have to get all worked up… anyone whos been there knows the sacrifice needed to be a bodybuilder, fuck the haters and the people that just throw out the word steroids cuz they see it on TV, and ronnie coleman is not a toolbag!!!!! BTW what are the song titles?

  • And I would like to add to your comment that what I hate the most are the assholes who thinks that roids are magic pills that makes you grow overnight. Being a bodybuilder is not only about lifting weights, you have to be dedicated 100%. Have a strict schedule, go to the gym even if you don’t want to. It’s not easy!

  • thanks for the name of the song haha!! ammmmmm i wanna say something,,,, say no to steroids,,, be natural!.., natural bodybuilding affer you a healthy and a long life,, i dont know if the mans that are in the article are full of steroids, i think yes hahahahha!!! but i admire to ronnie coleman oh yea!!

  • “Jealousy is a wicked bedfellow, and that is how you’re coming off…” Unfortunately you don’t get to define what attractive is. The majority of girls are not physically attracted to the men with professionally body building bodies. So baring that in mind I don’t think I’m attracted to guys who girls think are unattractive.

  • Yeah you’re right: food, nutrition, training and sleep is an important role! BUT, it is impossible to gain so much lean mass as they have without using hormones or steroids. I’m not saying that there isn’t any big bad fellows out there who has gotten big in a natural way. What I’m saying is – they look nothing like these guys 🙂

  • Attempting to justify bodybuilding is a joke. Working out can make you healthier and more attractive, but, the people in this article have crosses both the line of what most people consider attractive and what is healthy. So to recap, Body building is not attractive, not physically or psychologically healthy, and has the potential for serious negative repercussions on every other aspect of your life. But none of this is surprising once you see body building for what it really is, an addiction.

  • Indeed, THIS was my BIGGEST challenge while trying to gain weight! I’m a truck driver and often times you really don’t want to get TOO FULL behind the wheel but, I really NEEDED those calories. Now, I’m consuming much more QUALITY foods on this run and I can DEFINITELY tell the difference it’s making along with the supplements! Also, I just put down two grilled chicken breast, rice and broccoli while perusal this article.🐖🐷😄🤣😂👌🏾👍🏾💯

  • Eating is very important to start meeting ur goals…u want to get big? This is where u start…but not many really want it..what work are u willing to put in?!.are u willing to do whatever it takes to win?.no more excuses…no more what if…just do!..time to grind..to work..to get big….i was doin cardio..30min in and felt like stopping..then this comes right on time…i finished my 40min..610 cal 🔥…3.3miles💪🐷

  • I can train hard and that’s no problem, It’s fun and therapeutic. Don’t always want to do it but always glad when I do even if it turns out to be shorter lighter workout. Eating though is a pain. I have a pretty big appetite compared to normal people but I need to scale it up to match my training. And if I start skipping meals I’ll feel it in the gym like workouts are harder to do or I don’t feel recovered enough and dealing with fatigue. Sometimes it’s fun to eat big when you’re putting on a show or having a contest with friends but most of the time it’s like another job and I just have to do it and eating the same stuff over and over again sucks but this is the way.

  • You don’t need to eat 5,6,7k calories a day to get big. A 500 caloric surplus and 1g/lb protein is all you need to grow, when you are a waking pharmacy on every type of gear under the sun, then yes, maybe more food will be beneficial. Also it depends on what your goals are, most people don’t want to look like Rich Piana (rest his soul) more would prefer to look like Steve Reeves, for example. You don’t need 6k calories and 300g protein a day to look like an old school bodybuilder, but if you want to look like Phil Heath you do. Protein intake and small caloric surplus won’t get you gains quickly, but they will be slow and steady quality gains without excess weight gain and health problems. The human body isn’t meant to consume that much food in a day.

  • im 16 and im just done with my workout. (chest and the back) coming back home i started with a banana and 3 eggs and some proteins mixed. I also eated a bowl of yogurt with some nuts. After that i started with eating 2 eggs and more vegatables while listening to this article, thanks now my belly feels like exploding👍🏻

  • It’s not good to eat lots of food… It’s not good to put on that much muscle. I believe it’s a waste of food and it doesn’t look good nor is it healthy/natural. I WILL NOT DENY THE EFFORT AND HARD WORK that these people do to look the way they look. To a certain degree I respect their work but on the other hand I really dislike the bad message they give their viewers

  • I not a bodybuilder but i tried the lifestyle for awhile, and it frustrates me when i talk to couch potatoes who probably get drunk most nights, the challenges of bodybuilding like sure you do not need to live react to another like in a dual or field sport, but in bodybuilding there is honestly no rest it is a 24/7 sport with what cheats you maybe a load during your bulk or some who much comparing to fighters which is my background fighter/martial arts, i not ready to say it is the hardest sport bodybuilding but it is the hardest discipline wise, i found other sports it was more what i cannot do outside of training which i can kind of sleep off, but body building it is what i HAVE TO DO and so many times when i was meant to eat i wanted to sleep instead but no i gotta eat first and i already full but i had to find away it was especially the ones who were frustrating me at work when they didn’t manage their time at work to take their breaks to go eat their lunch and it became the culture there “push though that hunger” but for real someone doing bodybuilding doing a whole work day with out eating like they will live but dam good luck catching up, oh and breaks i had no mental rest it was eat eat eat

  • I fked up my body because of my stupidity. I’ve been eating over 9k calories for 2 weeks and now im bloated af. I wanna kill myself i dont wanna go out i dont wanna talk with ppl, im deppressed, i feel ugly with my moonface… I dont even wanna workout. im really in a bad situation nobody can understand me right now, i just want my old shredded physique back..

  • Carb based meals before and after the gym, and then high fat high protein keto meals the rest of the day has been a game changer in my energy, muscle recovery, and glucose levels. If you eat carbs 7 times a day you’re going to get insulin resistant and that leads to slower growth and heart disease quicker than you think.

  • This is my Cousin Rich Piana narrating this article. (didn’t get credit) Our Family Loves and misses Richard everyday. He was always honest and honest to himself. He gave everything as all of our family does. He loved all his fans and worked so hard to pass on his life experiences so young athletes could make the right choices when training to become a bodybuilder. Richard was a Star that shined bright for only a brief moment. We are producing an animated feature of my Cousin because he was a Real Superhero. We appreciate your support in continuing Rich’s legacy and if you would like to see some behind the scenes articles goto @t Love and Miss you Rich. – Michael Spartan/CEO Hollywood Animation Studios.

  • Diet is key. I got accused of being on steroids before I considered it. I’m not gifted just put years of work and trial and error. Gear does majorly help recovery so you can lift more often and recover faster. Then again I met many people on gear that looked like shit or that I thought barlr worked out. Many people on here do not even have a picture of them but saying I would look like that. No you would not

  • Yeah getting big looks cool all that muscle. But when you get older that shit wears you down and out quick. I’m 30 about to be 31 in a few months. In my mid 20’s I got up to about 300 lbs I’m 5’7 5’8 I was lifting heavy ass weights looking like the Hulk. Got hurt and when I was out for 9 months I realized that was not healthy at all. Cut to now I’m trying to get to 200 I’m between 211 to 215 and feel a lot better

  • There a group of people’s around the world who starving and need to eat damn good meal and they did not have a chance to get it and yet these MFBB claim it’s a hard things to do .. They’ve should Fletcher bless they can eat when ever and any kind of meal they wanted everyday. . But I do watch it while I’m eating ☺😈☺

  • I remember earlier this year I was incarcerated; locked up in jail. I was going to keep my gains and make new ones NO MATTER WHAT; I made weights with garbage bags filled with water. To get more meals in I faught a couple of dudes to gain respect for extra food trays. Whatever it takes, man. EAT BIG GET BIG. Get shit done, brothers.

  • It’s not easy! The eating part! It’s said in numerous bodybuilding articles that the weights are the easy part and it’s true. You have to BUST YOUR ASS at the proper weight routine that’s conducive to your physical goals and you MUST EAT! I’m currently in a situation where I have EXTREMELY limited financial resources so I do the best I can with what I got from day to day to eat as much and as WELL as I possibly can to add mass. The food that I eat sometimes isn’t what you’d see a pro bodybuilder preparing in a article. It’s simply the best option I have at that particular given time. Forcing myself to eat a lot of the time is no fun for me. I enjoy eating but roughly 25% of the food that I eat is forcefeeding out of necessity. I’m a pretty big dude at 6’7″ and 285 and I carry some decent mass without the aid of gear but I still don’t have an out of control appetite. On days that I lift I’m hungry all the time but on my off days I gotta force myself to keep feeding the muscles. If you’re in the weight room looking to accomplish ANYTHING you gotta do what’s required on the nutrition part to make that time in the gym count.

  • What I admire and respect about the pro Bodybuilders is that they literally eat plain chicken breast, like dam! It not only looks like shit and also taste like one. Bodybuilding is a 24/7 job One thing I have to point out is that the quote “No Excuse” doesn’t apply to normal people with normal jobs and still hitting the gym, if you are a Pro Bodybuilder then you can apply that quote to your daily routine since Bodybuilding is your job and only priority.

  • Eat eat eat to gain as much weight and muscle as you can, and use steroids to speed up the process. Then start cutting and leaning out, using other steroids and probably diuretics to get as vascular as possible for competition day. Now, you are at single digit body fat, depleted, exhausted, and probably in one of the unhealthiest physical states you could ever be. Congratulations! After all the strain and pressure you put on your heart, liver, kidneys and stomach to digest metabolise and detoxify, you are now ready to compete. Is that what our organs were created for? Is that what food was created for, to be shovelled down with reluctance, only to makes us unhealthy? I’ve been going to the gym religiously for 28 years, but I think extremism in any for form is harmful. Just my two cents! I think the narrator of this article is Rich Piana. After his autopsy, his heart and liver were said to be twice the normal size. May he rest in peace.

  • If anybody else who is or was a Iron Addict just like myself and has suffered this Bitch IBS problem but you managed to get out of it and are now looking pretty good In terms of muscle mass and performance. Tell me what you did to get out of this Ditch In the road and what was going through your head when you lost your muscle because of IBS(food not digesting effectively and mostly Direaa I would greatly appreciate it and to these Motivational speakers ( FUCK YOU🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕Fuck You

  • The biggest I got was 264 lbs I’m 5″10 and I was eating nonstop around the clock it was extremely extremely fucking hard I damn near wanted to puke everytime I ate, bodybuilding is fun when you’re training and seeing results but the eating part is so fucking hard it’s a fucking nightmare to be honest

  • I was Fuckin Commited to this shit, all I thought was, what do I have to do or keeping doing to improve my body and fitness level . Other peoples purpose of waking up early might be for work or a busy day ahead in terms of leisure plans with friends but for me it was I need to wake up at 6 so I could have my first meal within 30 minutes waking up and go gym after 1 1/2 hours and then again in the evening after College . Reason being for an early meal was so I can set my meal schedule according to the College times or work and still manage to get those meals. My gym sessions was for 1 1/2 hours and full intensity and I enjoyed it, Fuck Yeah!!! If u asked me, how long u think you’ll be coming gym for? ‘ id say, ‘ I don’t think ill stop gym even when I’m 45 years old ‘. This IBS has honestly made me soo depressed with the fact I was on my way and would have been competing by now but IV gone more skinnier than when I first started gym at 14 yr old so all That FUCKIN dedication, effort and that money I spent on all them carbs sources and meat has gone down the drain . My mom use to say, ‘My whole day goes by cooking you meals and now my dad says, ‘ that was a waste because you’ve lost all that muscle I would have alot saved if i didn’t purchase those meats (hahahahaha I find that funny but it’s with exaggeration aswell . Honestly I have no idea how some men can live with them selfs where they skinny as fuck, thats so fuckin feminine. I’m a Big fan of the IFBB Bodybuilder ‘Branch Werren’ he completely kills it and blows the fuckin roof off the building.
