They also needed more seat and thigh room for saddle work. A smaller leg opening was necessary to protect legs from brush and boots. Cowboys could “stack” their jeans, a Western tradition that allows them to buy jeans four inches longer than normal inseams to fit right on their boots. They also needed more belt loops, seven, and a wide space between front belt loops to accommodate flashy Western belts and the trophy buckle, a vital part of any cowboy’s fashion look.

Today on #AskCoastal Taylor explains how much you can expect those new Wrangler or Levi’s Shrink-to-fit style jeans will shrink …
Those strike golds are nice. Never had a true pair of high end Japanese brand raw. But now a days everyone has caught up and makes selvage raw. Crazy to see banana republic factory doing it. I think the Japanese brands still do raw unsanforized best. But on the subject Levi’s to me never was quality with the small details. My most recent pair was a lvc purchase, the only levi i will buy due to aesthetic. The talon zipper sucked and eventually broke and i had to get it replaced. The stiching is coming undone. Excellent fit but that is what I mean. As a child I was blown away with wrangler quality, it was tough af and blew out any jeans i had ever seen at the time. I would never wear normal wrangler due to the aesthetic again. But they did do a collab with levi that is sick.
This was true more than a decade ago and it still is. It is also true that the current wranglers don’t hold a candle can Wrangler and Levi jeans of two decades ago. At this point a pair of Levi’s jeans last six months and wranglers last me 9 months. I can buy a pair of bargain jeans at a farm store for $11 that will last me 4 or 5 months. I know exclusively buy the bargain no-name farm jeans.
