What Is Meant By Women’S Democratic White Outfits?

Democratic women of Congress have been wearing white as a symbol of solidarity and unity in the fight for women’s rights. The decision to wear white was announced in a press conference ahead of the State of the Union address, which is an homage to the white outfits often worn by suffragists during their fight to get women’s votes recognized. Many attendees wore white clothing to the final session of the Democratic National Convention for Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech. The color symbolizes support for women’s reproductive rights and the fight for women’s rights over 100 years ago.

The House Democratic Women’s Working Group borrowed the color used by the early 20th century movement to recognize women’s right to vote. Many delegates on the floor chose to wear white sports jackets, dresses, t-shirts, and hats to honor the suffragists who fought to earn women’s rights. The Democratic convention was a sea of white as a symbol of support for Kamala Harris and women’s reproductive rights, as well as to honor the suffragists who fought to earn women’s votes more than 100 years ago.

The Democratic Women’s Caucus announced that many of its members would wear white and don special pins that read “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” to the floor. Many members would wear white outfits for women’s rights as well as “Fighting for Reproductive Freedom” pins. This symbolic dressing for women’s rights has been ongoing since the 19th century protest movement and continues to be a part of the Democratic National Convention tradition.

  • “We will fight for women” “we are not going to leave” “we want equality”! What is this that these democrats are saying they’re fighting for then they say the White House “has closed their doors on women” but honestly this is a social issue nothing the White House can do without making women being above men in terms of pay and benefits which would then be unfair and what is it they are fighting for the article doesn’t clear why these people wore the white suites other than equality, however they don’t state a specific problem women face, The gender wage gap is a myth because of the fact that they just take a general population where they don’t consider that women with kids rely on their male spouse to bring in money to supply their families and this also takes into account women’s breaks from work for their children so this is a myth!

  • Nothing personal but I think they should reboot this whole groups name. This movement that they are apart of did not allow people of color to be a part of it and its initial formation. So I think that there needs to be a new name for this all inclusive movement instead of calling it something that initially was only for a certain ethnic class.

  • Alright let see… -A woman can easily commit assault agains a man and get away free, and say it empowering, but if a man hit back even in self-defense is considered “gender violence”. -In terms of health care they resive 1.5 more money than men, 2.5 in the case of cancer. -In most states the only made half the sentence for a crime unlike men. -In the large majority of divorce courts the judge always appeal to the woman, the same goes for child custody. And the list goes on from here, so how exactly are womans not represented and supported by goberment again???

  • Have you ever thought of fighting for your sisters, who are in real, deep trouble around the world? Making yourselves heard in a country, where freedom of speech is more cherished than everything else, is not an act of bravery, but show”wo”manship – there are a lot of problems to solve, but noone is standing behind the lines of women, that are forming right now.

  • All this drama and outrage over make believe is EXHAUSTING. Keep chanting the same old same old and we see how ‘regressive’ you really are. These ’empowered, enabled and outraged’ fools need to get down to business and do something instead of just tired mention of their suffrage and oppression. Get real, you’ve not seen either.

  • I was looking at the buildings in the article. Can’t visualize even one woman up on the scaffolding laying brick or painting the surface of any of it. Check to see how many women are out today patching potholes. Check the tire changing bay at Wall Mart to see how many women are under the hoists. There’s a reason Rosie the Riveter was famous. It was not because what she was doing was an every day event. Men going their own way … why do men go their own way? Might it be there’s no one in your ranks who a man might want to travel with?

  • Loved my mother my eldest aunt grandmother grandfather Mom Dad God life being alive wife children dogs, get an American. Staff. I’m resting my head like a pillow on my Sosa, two other smaller ones too, and still love them. I didn’t get to read the article regarding what gratitude does to the brain, if someone is up to date on the subject please interfere. Suffices to recall an incident .. Like 50 years ago my father and his sisters were flying on a two engine airplane when one of the engines failed and flying at an angle. Everyone praying and writing wills but she was sleeping. They landed safely then everyone was mad and wondering how she could have slept through the ordeal. Enough said? She was never worried about her fate. I wish to get there. Where none of this matters. It’s what it is. Love of God life family friends mother nature and all other blessings that have contributed to getting me here should be enough for me to be happy and accept the fortune granted to me.

  • Let me tell u as a 44 year old white woman. I remember the 90s, I remember HRC as a first lady. That’s half the reason why I would never ever vote for her. The other half of my reason was that HRC was shoved down our throats; We better like her or else. The way HRC and the DNC shoved aside Joe Biden was appaling. Then Joe decided not to run because of his family tragedy. He had that right. He would have won if he was the Dem nominee.

  • I have one little annoying thing to point out. Everyone who keeps repeating “54% of white women voted for Trump” is wrong. This is because only 60% of all people total voted. If only 60% of the total eligible population voted, its impossible for half the total population to have voted be women. Now if they qualified that with “women voters” or something it would be more accurate. It sounds like a small point but its massively misleading. Its especially misleading considering the cult followers on the right vote, and vote a certain way, because their respective masters tell them to. A huge proportion of these white women voters who voted for trump are the types to say they voted that way because their pastors and husbands told them to. Women on the left have the unfortunate tendency to not vote at all for a variety of reasons, including being minorities subject to voter suppression and gerrymandering, and other entrenched problems. Do to its nature, the left doesn’t have that tight night group of mindless followers the right enjoys and tends to be made up of a wide variety of other groups who may or may not agree with each other. Its a lot harder to get them to vote at all let alone as a block. Let the troll flocking begin.
