Another great article Jess! Love your style 🥰 Yes please can you make a article on how to style for your particular body shape 🙏. By the way I’ve been wanting to tell you that I follow a number of fashion YouTubers and you are by far the sweetest, most down to earth and humblest YouTuber out there 🤗🥰. perusal you fills my heart with joy and peace on the weekends ❤ With love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Hi Jess, great article!! I think a article on styling by body type would be amazing🤩 Is there any chance you could include plus size? Maybe inviting a friend who wears a bigger size and using them as a model? It’s sometimes hard to imagine how certain things would look on my body type. No worries if not, just thought I’d ask. Already getting so much inspo from your articles and I just bought a Sezane shirt and as you said their sizing is true UK sizing. I LOVE it❤
It’s coming to that time of the year when we are in transition, at least here in Canada, and it’s time to plan for the coming season. It’s so important to pause and take stock of what you currently have and where the gaps are. I am finding myself trying not to succumb to the temptation of buying the new season pieces until I really look at my wardrobe, consider where the gaps are, what I need, and more importantly, asking myself if the new purchase has a place in my wardrobe, considering my lifestyle.
Sorry I’m late to this article Jess but I just want to say your tips are spot on. Nails are my big downfall (I am a chronic nail biter!!! and I really have tried.) Manicurists despair of me!!! May I add what an amazing wardrobe you possess of stored clothes etc. I completely understand, of course, that this is your job but you have done a great job on selecting and keeping quality classics that never get boring. Continuing to enjoy your website even if I don’t always get to leave a comment. Thank you for your continued advice and inspiration.
Hi Jess. Thank you for another great article! Could you please do one on “Tips to organise your closet”? I still have a lot of doubts, like should you hang or fold your knitwear (I noticed you hang it). It would be great to hear your thoughts on this:). Oh, and could you please please link the gorgeous brown boots that you are wearing in outfit 15? Thank you!
The tips I collected for selecting durable & elegant clothing from different articles are so far: – never wear blazers, Bermudas, 3/4 trousers – these will make you look old – never wear miniskirts or jewellery other than silver or gold (looks cheap), no pencil skirts – never wear clothes with word/text prints on – do not wear shoes with clicking heels, softer shoe soles will prevent this – wear seamless underwear in skin tone, use bras with changeable pillows – only wear thin cloth pants (slim fit but a little loose) with elastic band in black, dark blue, or dark brown: only made of cord, linen, lyocell, cotton, in combination with a skirt, dress or a long top; try to avoid jeans, – wear long skirts/ midi skirts made of linen, cotton or silk, sometimes viscose can be good but do not oder anything made of viscose online always check the quality in person – for long sleeve tops: only choose crew neck not too close to the neck and not too open, made of cotton, sometimes even polyester if thick enough can be nice (but check in person), combination with blouse inserts are nice, but I would not recommend thick blouses that need to be ironed – instead of t-shirts use sleeveless tops or linen dresses or combine a sleeveless top with a loose transparent silk/viscose blouse that may cover the arms (sun protection) colors: – the most elegant colors (not washed out) are navy blue, anthrazit, dark violett, and black, – in shirts monochrome coloring is in most cases best – lighter colors easily stain and are difficult to clean, and probably won’t last long – darker colors make you look more in shape – in the job, people in high contrast clothing are taken more serious: the combination of black and white is best – the more non neutral colors the more difficult the wardrobe becomes for styling – keep in mind: thin fabrics need to be hand washed regardless of whats on the label but in return there will be no need to iron for the suggestions above,
Hello! Great article, I’m REALLY struggling with looking polished at the moment as I’m 5 months pregnant. Mostly living in leggings and everything feels uncomfortable! But the tips about jewellery and sunglasses are really helpful. The different body shape articles would be very interesting. Do you have any tips for dressing while pregnant, as you have done this 3 times? 😄
Jess, I would love to see a article on styling different shapes. However, most of them focus on the various shapes that are out there. I wouldn’t consider myself an inverted triangle because I have very narrow shoulders, but I have a 32G bra size. I am 5’2″, 114 pounds, short waisted, with a flat bum! I like to wear belts, but then it makes my bust stand out if my top is tucked in all the way. Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of looser fit trousers instead of tighter jeans, and that seems to do better for my rear. I really love perusal your articles. You are always so elegant looking in everything you wear!
Yes, please do a styling article based on body shape! I just came across your website, and am learning so much! I have broad shoulders, a short body, long legs, and wide hips with a bum lol, (an hourglass figure I guess?) and am only 5’4. I’ve always felt like I’ve struggled how to dress for my body shape. Your articles though are giving me some great ideas, thank you!
Hey Jess hope you’ve had a great week. Great tips, I always think that a scarf really elevates a look, it’s the one item in my wardrobe I have multiples of! When I commuted to London I had to have a rucksack a lot of the time as I had so much stuff with me, it’s really bad for your shoulders and back to use a shoulder bag that’s chocca with stuff. I swear I’ve got one shoulder lower than the other due to years of doing this 😂. Have a great week hun x
Hi Jess Thanks for the tips…lots to think about. I have a chaotic approach that needs work. The tip that resonates the most with me is to get one special piece per season instead of a few that are just so so. I think that sounds like a very good plan that should increase the pleasure while decreasing the less meaningful consumption.
Awesome tips Jess! I’d love to see a article on styling for different body shapes. Great idea! Something that I started doing last year was not only thinking about what I would wear the next day to work but also pull the pieces out of my wardrobe and hang them on a dedicated hook. This way I will know for sure that what I have chosen is clean, ironed, lint-free, etc. This ensures that all is good to go in the morning when I’m pressed for time. Thanks for all that you do. Hugs, Tiina 😘
Love your articles! You inspired me to order the Scott trench online (I live in the USA) from Sezane. Love it so much, I bought a second colour 😁 . I would love to see a article on travel wardrobes, as I am headed to Europe in late August – London, Dublin, and Lisbon. Your ideas and looks would be fantastic.
Jess, I love your style and tips and watched this article trying to distract myself from the cyclone we’ve got in NZ tonight. One thing I wondered – how do you store your clothes you pack away when the season changes? I want to make some space in my wardrobe but want to look after my nice winter coat etc. Any tips are welcome. Thanks!
Good morning lovely, great article! I totally agree with pressed and debobble clothing, haha, it makes a difference on your appearance. Blazers and coats have literally become my ‘to go to’ when I need to look polished instantly. As for the invention of sunnies, best thing since sliced bread lol Great tips as always! Have lovely Sunday :)xxx
