Methods For Dressing Up A Denim Jumpsuit?

Accessorizing is a key aspect of elevating your denim jumpsuit look. Incorporate statement accessories like chunky necklaces, oversized earrings, or stylish belts to create a unique and stylish ensemble. Pairing a jean jacket with a denim jumpsuit in slightly different washes is the easiest way to test out the all-denim trend. Layering can also help you feel comfortable while wearing the jumpsuit. For example, layering your jumpsuit with a fitted denim or leather jacket can add edginess and keep you warm during cool evenings.

Depending on the weather and fashion preferences, you can add a denim jacket, chic blazer, or stylish cardigan to your jumpsuit. Layering not only adds depth to your outfit but also allows you to wear it for different occasions. Statement jewelry can instantly transform any outfit and can be worn over a simple white T-shirt or pastel knit. For a dressier look, lose a few buttons to make room for accessorise with jewelry, or add a pair of heels underneath.

To accessorize your denim jumpsuit, consider adding statement necklaces, hoop earrings, or cuff bracelets to add sparkle and sophistication. For a minimalistic look, opt for simple stud earrings or a delicate necklace. Treat a denim jumpsuit as if it were your signature jeans, wearing it over a simple white T-shirt or pastel knit.

In summary, accessorizing your denim jumpsuit is essential for creating a stylish and comfortable ensemble. Pair it with a jacket adapted to the season, combining washed and indigo tones for a full-denim look, or layer it over a polo-neck for warmth in winter.

  • Alyssa! You can’t be stopped! I feel you could style a head of cabbage 20 different ways, and I would want to wear it. Unbelievable creativity. Thank you for sharing your gift with us, and the part about the hair in the beginning is just priceless! Thanks for being real and not editing it out :))) 24, 934 subscribers… I know whom I’ll be congratulating on quarter hundred thousand next week 😉 xon

  • stunning – I finally had to surrender my jumpsuit (exactly like yours) due to the bathroom issue – but I resolved it by (and can achieve the same looks with) a pair of culotte (wide legged) trousers that fall mid-calf … so much happier now, as water intake is a daily priority for me 🙂 🙂 … I love every time you use your Obi belt, too!

  • And I just happened to wear my jumpsuit today… too funny! Mine was something close to your cozy casual black w/white sweater look. I like your edgy looks and the long layered look. My personal preference are looks that work with boots or flats. The one thing about jumpsuits is the inconvenience when you wear top layers & then nature calls. : / ya know?

  • Loved look 13. I really like your maroon boa scarf but my scarf like it adds too much bulk to my body and I feel bigger and self conscious. It made me think a article on how to keep your silhouette flattering would be appreciated. I don’t dislike my body but I don’t need to add any more visual bulk to it. This is a regular fashion challenge while getting dressed for me and other women I’m sure. A tutorial on this would be fab Alyssa. 🙏

  • 10 the Professional look and 15 edgy was my favorites. All the outfit you put together were great and looked awesome on you. I more likely will try the layering items underneath the jumper because don’t want to go thru even imagining how one would go to the bathroom. Removing shirts, belts, and etc. Tee Hee You did it again. Great article and content. Like the basic for this article, the jumper. It had some surprising detail with the length and the split on the side. Thanks for sharing and continued blessing 2 u in 2019.

  • Thank you for this! I was just searching this week for different ways to style my jumpsuits. Would you do a article (or maybe you’ve done one already) on joggers? I have a pair of really pretty drapey joggers in a beautiful charcoal grey, but am struggling with how to style them. Specially what shoes to pair with them in the cold east coast winter.

  • Gorgeous looks! I loved them all! The edgy chic, Change of Silhouette, Winter Chic, Dressy/Elegant (not sure of that title)…were my favorites…I am sure I missed a few. However, they were all great! I loved your use of accessories and layering. I have consigned almost all of my jumpsuits. I have a green playful one that is loose and easy, but do not have them as I am so short waisted. They are too big in the bust resulting from trying to get the waist adjusted to my figure. WITH THAT SAID, I have a BOILER SUIT (same concept) that I purchased last December from LUCY & YAK a small, ethical (actually has the approval of Good On You…which is almost impossible to get). It was under 100.00 and organic cotton. They are made in India. It actually fits my figure perfectly! So, as soon as subzero temps turn here a bit in Chicago to the over freezing range…I will be thinking of this article. It is not dressy, though….but an incredible piece, nevertheless

  • I loved every outfit and especially #10! It was professional but still kind of quirky which is part of my style. I love one pieces but am always put off for the inconvenience of restroom time. Also, I’m 5’9 with a long torso and can never get a good fit. I’ll keep trying though since I haven’t owned one in 20 years. But that was a very light pastel purple catsuit with bell bottoms I used to wear clubbing in NYC. I never had to pay for a drink😎. Here’s to me finding a professional and grownup version soon☺🥂

  • Alyssa YOU ARE MORE THAN AN INSPIRATION IN FASHION ! Bella, I’m short 5 ft . I’ve never been able to find a good quality jumpsuit in black. I love when you do these articles. I was anxiously waiting to get home from work to see what you had for us today! It was fantastic!!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼I am now going to be on the lookout for a black jumpsuit. Since, I’m so short, I’m not going to be able to pull some of your looks as you are stunning tall and slim. But, I sure am going to try Bella. Ciao darling! XOXOOOOOOO much love to you! I can’t tell you which one I liked the best. They were all great😀😀😀🙋🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

  • Hello Alyssa. I really loved Style 11 with the bell sleeve top worn under, 13 layered with the fur vest, 5 Coastal prep, 8 Urban week end because of the cool scarf. All of them were great looks! Only I kind of wish you had shown it with a tight ( horizontal) striped top worn underneath the suit for a chanel vibe. LOVE LOVE.

  • I’ve been looking forward to perusal this article since I finished perusal your new post last Sunday XD Amazing content as always! I don’t (and not planning to) own a jumpsuit because I drink lots of water and go to the bathroom several times throughout the day. But you have inspired me to get a good chambray shirt and it is definitely on my shopping list now! 💕

  • As always, great ideas !!! My preferred ones are number 1 ( love the metallic vibes of shoes and belt, and the silk scarf), 9 with the red flats and tee shirt, 10 professional sooo chiiiic !, and in the end the mix of texture ( don’t remember which number !) and the winter layers, so creative ! Bye bye 😊

  • Overall, really great options – 1, 15, and the one with the fuzzy scarf belted are my favorites. However — with a jump suit – so hard to take everything on and off — so in my head I would use a black silk cami and a black pant …. for convenience. However, they would work really nicely for a short events where you were going out for a quick time. I have one such jumpsuit ….! Fabulous job though!! ITEM TO STYLE: The oversize sweater …. damn this cold weather….:) Thanks so much!

  • Love those looks! Your jumpsuit and gold button blazer are my favorite pieces in your wardrobe. How would you style sleeveless blouse and flowy pants coordinates? I usually end up wearing them apart but it kind of defeats the purpose… How to look edgy instead of “right out of a catalogue” in coordinates? Thanks!

  • Gosh. So many good looks! How u tied the white shirt was neat! Ill have to rewatch to pic a fave!! Ok so I love them all but 2, 4, 5, and 8. But I could see me wearing all the looks! Im spending a week in Tokyo soon so this may be an essential to pack because it can be dressed up or down! And I’m taking some cute slip on sneakers and I’ll bring a sexy sandal. And then I can bring a long sleeve to wear underneath and switch it up and a jacket over top as another option. So excited thank you!

  • Ok my feelings on jumpsuits; I don’t own one nor would I. They make going potty ridiculously difficult. Now add to it styling things on top of it? You’d be in the ladies room for 20 minutes just to go pee. Hopefully you don’t have to go real bad because you have to strip down just to go… your styling is lovely as usual but the practicality of a jumpsuit is absent.

  • Sending extra love to my picks of 4, 6, 13 thru to end. Lol to all of the bathroom comments .. which begs me to ask how many potty breaks were edited out? Lots of suggestion re: going with two piece outfit solves the bathroom issue but also may solve my issues of not having a torso and lower body that are the same size I.e. larger/smaller or longer in torso/legs. Clear as mud? Sounds like a topic you could help answer… which option works better, tailoring or custom made?

  • The Queen! You are the best at getting the most out of your wardrobe! LOVED “fancy and flowy”, “blouson” without the jacket, “silhouette change” without the stole is lovely, ” with texture” is so classy, “edgy” is the bomb ! It would be fun to hear from you which feels most like you, the one in which you feel most comfortable walking out the door, Alyssa? Thank you for all the wonderful ideas, you truly are the BEST at these articles!

  • I love the look of jumpsuits but I am reluctant to wear them, at least before summer, because they’re a pain to deal with in a public bathroom. Anyway, as usual your outfit ideas were fantastic! P.S. My favorite was the outfit with the blue blouse and short jacket. And I really liked the first song too!

  • Hi, I love your articles! As you ask I am struggling with an off white pleated dress from Paul and Joe, I’ve own for 11 years now but only worn it very few times I always feel I’m over dressed, it has a look between greek goddess and Marilyn Monroe’s 5 year itch white dress, you know, the one she’s on the tube vent, I’d love if you would help me, thanks!!

  • Alyssa, girl you have one set of creative juices. LoL. I absolutely love every single outfit. My faves are 1. 4. and 10. Amazing. Totally copying some of these. lol. I have 3 jumpsuits ( I know… excessive is how I roll🥴) but, I know I won’t look this great. Also, do you think you could style a cream top and cream dress pants for a mono-chromatic look? TFS 😃💞

  • ciao alyssa. i recently bought a green olive-khakhi coloured utility jumpsuit from a slow fashion ethical store and its my second jumpsuit ever i have owned. i want to wear it tomorrow for my 38th birthday out with the family for lunch and a stroll. so i thought id research how it can worn. i definitely got some ideas. thank you for sharing.

  • I ordered a green jumpsuit to replicate my helicopters uniform that I wore during my second pregnancy back in the eighties. It was so comfortable and accomodating during my expansion. I lived in a small town in Georgia so I didn.t much care what people thought of me, Now I’m not sure how to transfer that attitude to a modern style. I’m 65 and no longer pregnant ha. My mother in law threatened to burn my suit at the time.

  • Hi Alyssa 😊 Firstly, thank you so much for your posts! I’m learning so much from you, and I’m so grateful for the knowledge your sharing with us. I’ve never really had much imagination but love clothes and have only recently begun my capsule wardrobe journey. You’re really amazing, and i feel so privileged to be able to learn from you. I particularly live the one item styled different ways – genius, and a huge help. Thank you again, Tammy x

  • Re-watching this article for some inspirations as i am on the market for a jumpsuit. Love all the outfits especially 16 but the only down side is taking all those layers off in the bathroom stresses me out even thinking about it lol 😂 Thinking of getting a linen jumpsuit just for summer months, easier and less to deal with in the ladies room haha. Love your website xx

  • Just perusal this again. I love these articles. You haven’t done one of these in a while. Question tho. I love jumpsuits but man, are they ever a pain when you have to use the loo!! Any suggestions? Maybe just don’t drink any fluids. Ugh! Ps. Reading previous comments and I see this issue was brought up. I wish there was an easy solution. Pss. I have some black culottes that I guess I could create these looks w/o potty problem. Haha
