  • I don’t know if it’s just me but I love the ending.i think it’s a good twist.usually the story would end with her forgetting who she truly is then go back to a boring life and he gets the girl.but it shows her being true to herself and not changing her path for anyone.shes a book writing her own chapters not having them write for her.

  • ” What a treacherous thing it is to believe that a person is more than a person… Margo was not a miracle. She was not an adventurer. She was not some fine, precious thing. She was a girl. It took me a long time to realize how wrong I was. And not just about Margo. I was wrong about a lot of things I used to believe. Everyone gets a miracle. And I still do… But as it turns out….. my miracle was this………” a look at his friends…………

  • Although she may be fantastic, I cannot believe and accept that a supermodel is playing the Margo that was written in this book. It’s wrong to miscast a character like this and going for what Hollywood defines as beautiful, rather than what was written. It sets a bad tone and feeling, for countless young women out there. Why not cast the curvy, short hair, NORMAL girl that was in the book? Where is the short haired curvy wonder woman that I read in my teens?!

  • The way I see it, everyone has their purpose in life and you can’t just wait for it to come to you. Margo loved to feel alive and she did that by finding herself, by testing her limits and doing what she loved. When she left, that was her leaving her present self. She was surrounded by “paper towns” and “paper people”, all of whom she saw as fake. They lived their lives as if to chase perfection and she even did that for awhile. She was the beloved popular girl with a boyfriend and a huge social stratosphere. But she realized that that stuff, those people, were her future. She left the next morning after the night with Quentin, but she left bread crumbs. They’re viewed as pieces to see her whereabouts, to where she’s gone. But she doesn’t want to go back, she wants to say that she was there in that paper town. The breadcrumbs were the memories, and the fact is she did grow up there. But she doesn’t want to stay, she wants to find herself, she wants to see what can happen if you break free from your perfectly set future and find what could actually happen. I’ve heard that things always turn out good in the end, and if they don’t, it’s not the end. So maybe Margo wouldn’t end up with her perfect boyfriend and be a housewife, but at least she could say that she chose that for herself. (PS: the reality is that things work out perfectly for some people without leaving, but others have to find what is actually meant for them).

  • I remembered perusal this trailer for the first time back in 2015. I had no idea whatsoever about the book’s premise nor do I care about the author, John Green. But then, everything changed. I decided to give this book a shot and was surprisingly enthralled by it; the film version is equally captivating, and, might I say, a more simple and concise version of the whole story. Thank you John Green for bringing these characters to life, and for allowing 20th Century Fox to make an adaption. I just want you to know all this, even if you’ll most likely never get the chance to read this.

  • I watched this when I was 10 I’m now 15 and looking back I now understand the true meaning of the movie I was so young I just thought it was a bad film but it really shows reality not everything is what you think it is and he fell in love with the idea of her not her this movie makes you think about life it’s crazy and scary at the same time. A amazing original film

  • I read Paper Towns for the first time around 4 years ago, just before I finished high school and I just remember feeling this sense of teenage spirit, unbridled and slightly drunk on youth, something I didn’t have a lot of real experience with but I cherished this book. It’s been my favourite John Green novel for a long time. I am ridiculously excited for this film. It’s 12.30am on Friday morning here in Australia and I’m so glad I stayed up to see this.

  • If you’re just a little kid who hasn’t grown up yet, don’t watch it. You won’t get the true meanings of the show. It’s truly deep, and has so much meaning, and it’s reality. Just read the top comments and the replies from the top comments. They explain it perfectly. It’s not your typical cliché romantic movie at all. It really makes you think. It also really makes you think about life honestly. Brilliant. 10/10. Would watch again. It also mentions Saskatchewan in the movie, where I live! Anyone else? No? Just me? Okay.

  • Am i the only one who got affected so much by the movie? Maybe it is because i am not used to perusal these kind of movies in general but still i think it has some really important and deep meanings in it which kinda makes me think. Although at first i chose to watch it mostly because i love Cara Delevingne. I bet the book can create a lot stronger emotions to the ones who read it

  • I watched this movie since it was first released and up til now, I still watch it. It’s like a tradition to me to go back to this movie every year. To remind myself of who I really am and what am capable of doing and what the world could really offer. I always invisioned myself to be someone whose successful in a very independent way without the help of any male being. No relationships, no other commitments than to myself and to the career path am taking. I thought I’d be happy if I’d end up that way only to find out that it’s actually the other way around. In 2mos I’d be marrying the guy who added color to my dull and lifeless paper town. He’s the greatest plot twist I could say. Well not that my chapters or pages would already be coming to an end but, we never know. I love how people in here viewed this movie/book. Lots of Love to all the people behind this master piece.💕

  • Is it me or is Cara Delevingne not the right person for the role? Margo was a chubby, unpopular, short-haired girl and that is not emphasised enough with her as the actress. They only casted a good-looking person to earn money, and not to fully translate the book’s message. But, apart from that, this looks amazing. It’s exactly how I pictured it reading the book and I CANT WAIT

  • I don’t know where all the bullshit John Green hate has been coming from lately, but it makes me so sad. I mean everyone has a right not to like him and his work, but tumblr needs to relax. His books were such a big part of making my high school experience survivable and I am so glad for his work and his charities and his unapologetic enthusiasm for everything. I am so excited for this movie. x

  • It’s 1 am where I’m in but i just remembered how obsessed I was with Paper Towns. I loved TFIOS so when I heard another John Green movie was about to be released, i ‪got the book and finished it. I wasn’t able to see it in the cinemas so I bought the dvd. For a school project, we were tasked to create a movie poster either for our “own movie” or an existing one. Mine was Paper Towns with Chloe Moretz as Margo and Dylan O’brien as Q 😛 That same year, I subtitled the entire thing in my native language for a final project. DON’T MIND ME 🤧 perusal THE TRAILER JUST BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES 😂 u can scroll now

  • Well i desagree. I actually thought the ending was pretty awesome, cause it shows us that life is not a disney movie. Things don’t always turn out the way you want them to, and you gotta move on. And that’s what Quentin did. I think the ones that commented that they don’t like the ending are like 11 or something. (no offense, it’s my oppinion) And the ending has a great message: Q had the option to be happy since day 1, but he choosed to wait until certain things happened first. He always had the key to be happy: his friends. But he concentrated so much in Margo that only after she left he was capable to have fun. AMAZING MOVIE.

  • Other movies to watch: (cute cliched love with good actors and NOT nick sparks movies) -Adult World -The Perks of Being a Wallflower -Stuck in love (NAT WOLFF) -500 Days of Summer -Ashby (NAT WOLFF) -10000 Saints -Love, Rosie -The Art of getting by -The Spectacular Now -Me and Earl and the Dying Girl -10 Things I hate about you -The First Time Your Welcome, tell me if I missed any but these are just cute movies I liked.

  • I relate to this movie and book so much. I used to be obsessed on this guy just like Quentin being obsessed to Margo and that guy just disappeared before summer vacation without even saying goodbye to me. My friends and I went looking for clues like clues from his messages to us. I filled my mind with what if’s and one day, I got tired and just told myself that I should move on. I realized that I made a strong relationship with my friends along the way with that Sherlock Holmes shenanigans. I think that’s what Paper Towns’ moral story is.

  • Doesn’t look that good. The acting doesn’t look good. They all look dull, stale, and lifeless like they’re just reading it from the script. The concept or plot isn’t interesting at all. The only thing that could catch someone’s attention is that this was from John Green. Sadly, that’s all you need to get someone’s attention. These ya love stories are getting annoying. And don’t even tell me that this isn’t a love story. Because it is. “I’ve been dreaming to go out Margo since I’ve seen her” doesn’t sound romantic at all? You’re gonna tell me that it’s about friendship instead? Please.

  • Also, I prefer to watch a movie first and THEN read the book. If you read the book first, then it ruins the movie. You know everything that’s going to happen. BUT sometimes when you watch a great movie, afterwards you’re thinking “I want more! I want to know more about this story and the characters!” Then you read the book, and you get all of those extra details that you want that could not fit into the movie. I read Gone Girl right before the movie came out, but then perusal the movie was completely boring b/c I already knew all of the plot twists. Plus books are always better than movies. Movies can only include 2+ hours of content, so reading the book first will most likely make the movie disappointing

  • I honestly didn’t like this trailer. It seems like whoever put together the trailer missed the entire theme of satirizing idea of the manic-pixie-dream girl that the book did so well. It’s clear that the trailer was geared towards the majority of the crowd who watched the Fault in Our Stars, which I understand. I just hope that the movie itself doesn’t miss the point this badly.

  • Somehow i’ve always loved the trailer of this movie more than the movie itself as it makes me feel things. And secretly i come an watch it every now and then! I’m looking at the comment section now and i see comments two and one day old. So i just have question, do you all come here after years of this movie being released because you just enjoy the trailer the way i do or what?

  • SPOILER IF YOU HAVN’T RED UP TILL PAGE 200 IN PAPER TOWNS… 2:11 This is my theory but everyone is saying why is m Margo wearing a red dress. I think this scene is when Quentin find Margo’s red nail polish, travel books, nutrition bars and her blanket. And in that scene Quentin falls asleep waiting for Margo to come back and I think he is dreaming of Margo.

  • 2 things i loved about this movie: 1. Casting Nat Wolff in this movie really was something great. First time i remember him was seeing him on the Nickelodeon show The Naked Brothers Band with his brother Alex. 2. The whole premise of the movie is so enticing that i literally rewatch this movie over and over. perusal this movie makes me and anyone who wants to come out their zone to live life to the fullest and do things you never thought of doing. I start doing things i never thought i would do like taking trips to new places, doing things that i never thought i would do like parasailing, snorkeling, learning to fly a plane, just stuff most would second guess themselves of doing. Of course it’ll never be like Margo but to be living life as it goes on is something to experience.

  • Just watched the whole film about an hour ago. NOT as good as the book. Alright film though. It wasn’t terrible. Not going to lie, but if you’ve never read the book (I’m looking at it from the perspective of someone who won’t have read the book) it will just seem like another generic teen movie. Not like that’s a bad thing. There is just nothing about it that stands out and will make me go “omg this movie is amazing.” You know? If John Green writes a book and then a movie is made it will get overhyped. I’ve seen and read the Fault in Our Stars too and felt exactly the same.

  • I absolutely love this movie and the book. The story and characters are great but there’s also something about how it makes you feel. It’s like it taps in to unrelated feelings/thoughts. The ambience of a camping/road trip mixed with looking for something that matters to you can remind you of how you might of thought about something/had romantic feelings at the time you were on a trip in the past, etc. It connects to that even if the details are completely different. I really hope Looking for Alaska becomes a film next!

  • It’s the middle of 2021, it’s been 6 years since I last watched the movie, and just recently, I bought a copy of the movie here on YT and this movie never fails to inspire me, again. This is literally my favorite movie of all. When I rewatched it 2 days ago, I just remembered the memories when I last watched it when I was just 12. ❤️ Gonna rewatch it next week again❤️

  • This movie is so good,I definitely recommend it.The moment I watched it (Which was a Saturday night at 4:00 AM lmao)I fell in love,if your still young and still think about happy endings and fairy tales. Then don’t watch this, this actually tells life and how the real prediction goes. But pls pls plsss watch it!!

  • Can’t believe that almost a year ago this movie came out. I was going to be a senior year of high school when this movie was coming out and my last year of high school felt like Paper Towns somewhat. While I was mixed in how the movie turned out, I still enjoyed it. Thank you John Green (who I just meet recently at VidCon) for changing my senior year and my whole life forever by your books.

  • Paper Towns was a twist for me. When Margo said, “you could come with me” I wished that Q would’ve joined in that journey and create a different paper town Margo could finally see. Not the story where he gets the girl, but an end where the town is no longer a paper town. That the beauty the world unfolds and that it isn’t black and white.

  • Dude there were so many changes made from the book. I just got done perusal this. SPOILER ALERTS!!!!!! I think I was most disappointed at the way the filmmakers went about Lacey and Ben relationship. I completely shipped them and she was so resistant towards him. And I just didn’t like that the ending was completely different from the book in a sense. Maybe if I hadn’t read the book I would’ve really liked the movie but I just had such high hopes for this one. But with that said, perusal this did make me appreciate the book sooooo much more.

  • this film moulded who I am in a way. I understood how margo felt in an inexplicable way (more book margo), but always felt annoyed with the decision she would sometimes go thru. the need to live a full life and live around people who have no understanding of that and constantly let you down is something the escapist shall always run from. she needed to figure out who she was and escape the mystery persona she accidentally created. quentin however, was always kept in his shy circle, never fully letting himself go and loosing the love of his life for that, perusal her grow up without him. And then that fateful night happens and he lets himself go, for the first time, he felt the freedom and validation from margo and refused to let go this night, this taste of euphoria. and the next day when she isn’t there anymore but receives a clue, he knows he has to find her. eventually down the storyline, he finds out that the clues were just for him to know she was safe and not to find her. after talking he realises the she’s just a girl, who doesn’t know who she is or what she is doing but knows that whoever she is, she needs to start over. she isn’ the answer to his life, or the girl that will change his life (which she sort of did), but just a girl he fell in love with as a child, and that he needed to do the same and find himself and not push away his friends or family, like margo eventually did, trapped in her life. I like to think that they eventually met down the line and that when they did, the freedom they both longed for was found within themselves and continued to meet catching up, holding on to each other, both knowingly happy.

  • Just watched this incredible incredible movie Somehow It left me to think about life I love the way how Margo made Q to get out of his comfort zone He made him to do these adventures for the first time At the end when he said everyone was doing all these things for the last time But I did it for the first time I felt that Q is somehow related me when I was in school I was totally like him No class bunking Didn’t talk to any of my crushes Didn’t go for any road trip Which Iam dying to do it with my best friends I wanted go for a road trip and breathe and do what I want to and that cameo of Gus ) in the store The little glimpse of him was enough I just realised that from the back of few days I’m perusal the movies which are all adapted from best selling novels Its great And I actually love all of it Tomorrow Iam gonna watch Me Before You I hope That will be as amazing as this movie Cheers

  • It’s been a while since this movie came out, but in case someone had the same experience as me and is perusal the trailer in 2019, I’d just like to share this. When this movie came out my friend and I had just booked our trip to Europe. It was going to be the biggest trip I’ve taken in my whole life. We felt this movie would be a good ‘travel’ or ‘road-trip’ movie to get us into the spirit and we weren’t wrong. I enjoyed it. Tonight my younger sisters wanted to watch this. I haven’t seen it in years and when it ended I was overwhelmed with feelings of nostalgia – a combination of remembering the good times in Europe and the sadness of it being in the past. Since Europe my life hasn’t been the same. I’ve been a little unhappy and I’ve struggled to capture the happiness I felt when I was traveling. perusal this movie made me feel so bittersweet because it connected to a certain memory, but the movie itself with the story about friendship, leaving high school behind, bonding with friends before life inevitably changes, and traveling outside your comfort zone made me feel so much at peace. Like people said, this movie strangely enough made you think about life, moving on and letting go. I needed that.

  • When I was in 9th grade, my class and I were reading “Looking For Alaska”, “The Fault in Our Star”, and “Paper Towns”. This trailer dropped while we were reading the book. I told my teacher we should show it, but he said we shouldn’t just in case it has spoilers for scenes we hadn’t got to yet. I told him I already watched the trailer and it does not spoil anything that we already read. Therefore, he showed it to the whole class. Even though I wasn’t done with the book, I was still excited to see this movie and find out how the story ends.

  • wow, I first watched this when it came out, and I don’t really remember anything about it and I’m glad I decided to rewatch this film. Sure I see some elements from other highschool series and films in here, and it is very light too. But I really liked the ending, it feels fresh and comforting. And its so good to feel a beginning to the ending. I wish I had that courage and tons of independence to find myself out there.

  • I found this album in a small music shop. This song fit perfect in the movies you definitely know! This song has gone long ways by my side. From years of depression to first attempt into hospital, to the summer fields running with all my might, sitting all alone in the darkness, to where I’m today. Job. Health. Depression defeated. Became an uncle two months ago. It was worth it

  • David Foster Wallace on this song: “This song is making me feel both warm and safe, as though cocooned like a little boy that’s just been taken out of the bath and wrapped in towels that have been washed so many times they? re incredibly soft, and also at the same time feeling sad; there’s an emptiness at the center of the warmth like the way an empty church or classroom with a lots of windows through which you can only see rain in the street is sad, as though right at the center of this safe, enclosed feeling is the seed of emptiness.”

  • I was just perusal a article some did on The Lovely Bones and heard this song in the article. Its been awhile since I seen it so I didnt realize this song was in the movie and then I remembered it was also in Me Earl and The Dying Girl. This song carries so much emotion for me. There are no words spoken and it’s slightly repeating but slowly growing and swelling with feelings and emotions, it makes sense it was used in those two movies. It’s a song that is so hopeful but also very sad in its own way, you feel something is fleeting and coming to an end. Something so beautiful and special is escaping you and when the song finishes….it’s all over and it’s gone. So for it to be used in two movies where they show how beautiful life can be but that life eventually ends for everyone is fitting. This song is experiencing overwhelming beauty but then a panic sets in and you are chasing running in fear that it’s going to end.

  • I cannot believe how old this recording actually is, when I first heard it. I had no idea . I thought it was something new, It came up through a shuffle, and immediately I was attracted to it, and I started humming and harmonizing and singing my own lyrics. I started getting chills across my whole body. It felt so good now I can’t stop listening to it, I wish it was longer. I feel like trying to duplicate this and it’s way thank you for making this. It’s very inspiring.!! It feels Healing as well
