I personally donate to an NGO which runs a girls home. It’s local, i know the person who runs it. I know they are certified by the government and they meet the government’s requirements for running such an organisation. I get many calls to donate to other NGOs. My response is always the same. I don’t donate to organisations that I don’t know personally.

Since COVID pandemic I had learnt to donate frequently, one day i have observed during funds transfer to a famous fund raiser organization noticed that email id is not from same domain. I immediately withdrawn the transaction. Very next i have recieved i WhatsApp massage asking behind the reason of transaction withdrawal.

Nice. It started with negativity and ended with a positive note. Cud have been the reverse. It is always necessary to donate to an NGO who is registered and also have 80G registration. Govt strictly monitors the same. Second prefer a known NGO, which you can visit, or you know people closely associated with the NGO. Unknown NGO, through telephone calls should not be entertained at all. I have donated couple of times to medical aid NGOs, did not recieve 80G certificate or any official bills. Stopped donating to telecaller NGO. all telecaller NGOs are fake.
That’s why I never donate to NGOs seeking funds at Mall counters or outside my Office gate (And the ones that run YouTube ads). Good content and it seems so true too. But for discussion, this would discourage PPL to donate in some genuine cases too. I personally feel, crowd donation platforms like Ketto are genuine. 1. I checked all the points you mentioned with them. 2. They give you an update of the person i.e., if they went through surgery or not and of they have recovered (in many cases they do) 3. I was able to verify few cases by the details given in the documents for the hospital. 4. Ketto has been proved a boon to kids with SMA, where the patient needs a 18 crore injection. 5. Many celebrities, YouTubers as well as spritual leaders are associated with it. DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT A KETTO PERSON BUT A MEDICAL FIELD WORKER. this is my personal opinion. I worked indirectly for PFA, for some people who worked for PFA. Wo lakho mei raise karte the, paid peanuts to people like (bas transport aur khana hardly ho pata tha, rent to bhul jao), people working there told me the reality & I found the reality too with many hints. Apart from paying peanuts to us, they also took a huge cut for themselves, make sure they had a great lifestyle before transferring something to PFA. Ab PFA ki reality bhi kya hi btau, much information is not even on the internet, maybe coz of BJP or not idk.. not blaming everything on maneka Gandhi for it but organisation badi hoti h toh scams aur hi jyada hote hai cz of the way NGO functions in India. I was forced to say 95% of money goes to animals & 5 for administration but unfortunately it’s peanuts for animals. Ready to go to jail agr BJP Dale toh.
Before of giving money to NGOs, it is crucial to understand the background and relevance of the NGO, as expressed in this article. I personally do not give money to any NGO, however I do make attempts the help the subjects of the NGOs i.e., women and children from unprivileged residences. I had received a call asking for a donation for some ailing child. I asked them that I want to visit the child physically and help the child after visiting. They tried to persuade me to pay them first as it was urgent and when I denied they immediately cut the call. Anyone want to donate for any cause please verify thoroughly before doing so

these have been a serious issue but govt doesn’t take any drastic measures to stop these NGO from functioning, which are unregistered, in the name of taking care of the one who are deprived of their family and orphan these NGOs perform illigal activities like human trafficking, to run brothel, to push into begging, bonded labour and more.
i feel there are ample number of situations arounds us where we can help the needy, poor, diseased persons. Its much better to help them than to some unknown NGO with unknown person who is living 100km or 1000km away, needs of whom are difficult to identify n verify personally. Donate to your maids, househelp, sweepers, maintenance people, nearby localities which seem poor or in need. Avoid NGOs which are sitting on pile load of cash and are almost corrupt from all angles. Its India where most NGOs would be definitely corrupt. Those which are registered with government are seemingly even more corrupt except a few. Work of genuine NGOs can be recognised once you meet one. Just follow your instinct, not the flashy advertisements.

If someone want to donate, you can donate at hospital like Tata Memorial Hospital where free treatment provided for cancer patients. Similar many hospitals available india. No need to donate to any NGO or Tample. Even if you will NGO’s, than donate in terms of food and materials so that those things mostly reach to end users.

The more I see these articles which is happening, I really sometimes feel, I should give up my own beautiful dreams for the children, environment, animals and close my Ngo. Most of the ads in US involve showing a parent crying and requesting money for some expensive surgery. Typically, in most cases the child and parent are from southern Indian states. Sometimes West Bengal. It seems that there is some targeted marketing. Are they genuine? There is no way for the donor to tell. Sometimes it’s run as a crowdfunding and at others, remitting directly to the ngo.

As a presenter, you should have also made a distinction between the Organization & the Honest Employees. Not all people are there to scam, some are there to serve. It may sound alien to most because of your own upbringing & the quality of education. But the workings of an organisation & the aspirations of a worker may or may not align. Clubbing them together in a sellable packet just for the sake of a article seems heavily biased. Fore every organisation you mention that fail to stand by it’s own standard of practice, there are scores of upright, honest, kind & generous workers toiling without any kind of support system & appreciation. articles like this will only deter them from their good will & work & rather push them to what you have showed them. I have a reservation in the example you shared about the use of a photo of a child. The photos are deliberately put fake. You are absolutely right my brother… There are NGOs with unethical practices as you said, but there are some organisations too those who are working tirelessly but not getting funds. Ishwar seva udyog has been working for the last 6 years without getting adequate donations but still working for the wellbeing of stray animals… Salute to your efforts towards awareness against getting fraud and my request to you is that, please spread the awareness about those who are struggling for a good cause too.

Are bhai thoda wo Garib logonke bare me bhi socho jinhe kuch badi bimari hai to o kahanse paise layenge? Ameer logonko kuch fark nahi padta, tumhe lagta hai isme froud hai to o bhagwan par chhod do. Jo loag donate kar rahe hai unhe iska punya milega. Agar donation lenewala froud kar raha hai uska gunah use milega.
