  • My father found out he was pre-diabetic around 2020/2021. He actually managed to reverse the effects and is no longer pre-diabetic. He lost a ton of weight. He went from around 90kg to 72kg. He did that by being super strict with his diet and exercising 6 to 7 days a week. His weight went up again to 80kg, but it has stayed there for over a year now. I’m super proud of his results. He’s 64 at the moment.

  • I think there are a lot of people that disregard the potential mental and emotional dysfunctions that can cause eating disorders, which keeps people trapped in a vicious cycle that perpetuates Type-2. I was there. at 255 lbs, my blood sugar hit 864, and I ended up in the hospital. I was Type 2 for 6 or 7 years. I focused on low carb, OMAD, periods of intermittent fasting. I started to deal with my emotional eating (such a succinct way to sum up the last year of my life). As of last April, my Type-2 was officially removed from my chart by my PCP. I’m down to 175ish. And I’m a lazy B@5t@RD. So if I can do it, I KNOW you can ^^. (to clarify, I started making these changes about two weeks short of a year ago.)

I wish I could have him alive for just one more day, to hug him like he’s never been hugged before in his 60 years, and tell him just how much I freaking love him. Man I’m crying typing this, I miss him so freaking much. And I regret so bad how I treated him the last month of his life. I miss you dad. I’m sorry for all the people that took advantage of you in your life. I’m sorry I didn’t show you the love you deserved while you were alive. I’m such a jerk. I’m glad though that you no longer have to deal with this disease, or your gastroparesis, or your eye problems, or all the anxiety and all the abuse and pain you’ve felt all your life, I’m happy you can rest now father. You earned it man. It’s my turn to carry the pain, and I’ll do everything I can to show you I love you! Please rest dad, I miss you!

  • I have type 1 Diabetes as does my father and brother Its a genetic curse, i was never obese, im almost 34 yo and im diabetic since i was 13 Everything was fine until i was 29.I developed diabetic retinopathy and last year i began showing signs of neuropathy as well. This disease is devastating. My dad had open heart surgery when he was 36…when je developed diabetes he was 7 and it was relatively unknown, he almost died. He is now 58 and doing fine thankfully

  • I am a 67 year old power lifter I don’t have diabetics and I also don’t have high cholesterol or high blood pressure, I also have healthy liver and kidneys and heart. I don’t eat sugar, I use stevia and I only eat fresh healthy food rich in collagen. Sugar attaches to proteins in the bloodstream and produces harmful free radicals that can be particularly damaging to collagen, and premature aging of the skin. As an athlete I don’t drink protein that’s full of sugar and I don’t use steroids. My opinion Collagen is important for your skin and strong and healthy bones that is not steroid. In the Netherlands I see people eating a lot of sugar and also children I believe too much sugar can lead to diabetes.

  • I was a pre-diabetic 3 years ago. I started off with taking medicines but it didnt work. I have made food changes in my lifestyle and my sugar has been normal since last 2 years. I drink at least 1 mug of black coffee a day, replaced half of my wheat flour intake with barley flour, and the most important thing that healped is the powder of the leaves of moringa tree. Most people in west may not agree with me, but trust me if you all know how good moringa leave`s powder is for general health you would pay 100s to get them. Seacrh the internet and you will find its health benefits, or ask me in the comments.

  • The title says, how diabetes destroys human body. But the article talks in a computer voice, “what” is diabetes with a cursory observations on the consequences of hyperglycemia. It never discusses how and why? It does not explain how excess blood glucose harms body. Nor does it explain the harming mechanism of glucose scientifically. It simply assumes that observations are true, and does not distinguish correlation and cause. Science has to mature more, to truly find the cause and effect of hyperglycemia.

  • In my diet there is no added sugar whatsoever and my carbs (which are strands of glucose molecules) are 50% of RDA. Every time I go for a walk I tell myself ‘This is great! I’m burning glucose today! Regardless of whether you have Type II diabetes or not, you do not need the RDA in carbs. I get my energy from quality fats and oils. E.g. flax oil, olive oil, egg yolks of chickens on pasture, fish oils. SUGAR IS THE ENEMY OF YOUR LIFE.

Wal Mart sells both R and N insulin for $25 a vial.   • My mother has type2 diabetes and suddenly we found that she is at 400, the doc gave insulin but somehow it affected her brain.. within a week she started forgetting a few things and has become very slow. The doc recommended a brain MRI, there is some issue with the brain. Is this brain situation due to sugar, reversible?? We are yet to show the reports to the doc.

  • Vldl’s are not “bad” cholesterol, it’s literally the cholesterol transport system in your body, your body cannot use fat and carbs at the same time, so as long as your blood sugar is up and your burning glucose, the fat just circulates in your blood until all the glucose is used, then the fat digestion process takes over in a process called ketosis which is perfectly natural and a normal way the body can create energy without using insulin and creating insulin resistance

  • Is it the diabetes, or the insulin treatment that increases insulin resistance that destroys the metabolism and increases chronic inflammation? Zero/low-carb keto and intermittent fasting should be attempted before insulin injections are ever considered. In my opinion. Added sugar and high glycemic index carbs are an addictive drug and poison. Food containing it should have a surgeon general’s warning worded similarly as the one on tobacco and alcohol. Sugar is half fructose. And fructose leads to fatty liver disease since it can only be processed by the liver. It is nearly as harmful as alcohol. So the lower glycemic index of “high fructose corn syrup” is not a safe alternative to sugar. Stevia tastes better. And erythritol is benign, in my opinion. Though, all artificial sweeteners disrupt the gut flora. This should be countered with whole milk greek yogurt (with no sugar) and/or kimchi or similar fermented food. I think recent research claiming erythritol is harmful is a case of correlation / causation error due to their sample population having poor metabolic health to begin with. They probably also are consuming erythritol with harmful artificial sweeteners such as maltodextros (and there are others, but that one is common and very unsafe). Just some “food” for thought. I know the medical community in general will shout all these words down as uninformed blasphemy.

  • i woke up early this morning because my g-7 was yelling at me trying to tell me something!! i was having a very high reading again and this time it was extrememe! i tried takining my insuling early and of course that that takes a while, so it hasn’t worked yet, so i took humulog a my bs onlny whent up higher!! i’m re afraid! i took my oral meds early without food and hope that works! if it doesn’t change, i’m going to urgent care! i’m so afriaid of getting ketoacidocis again i had that about 11 years ago anwas in a coma and almost died. i’m always afraid of it! i hate diabetes! i’ve almost died because of it! i just looked at my g-7 receiver and its only gone down 3 points. i’m havingmy granddaughter take me to the urgent care. im not waiting any longer. i may be paniking, but i want to know! i have to wake her up now

  • I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for 52 years. I know this sounds harsh, but I have controlled my diabetes throughout this time. I didn’t have a choice. I’m sorry, but type 2s can control their problems by controlling what they eat.   • My Nurse put me on Galvus and Metformin and my Cardio Dr put me on more Metformin and Crestor. My CGM shows that I am right in the zone almost all the time. The sugar spikes are gone. my lipids are normal. After years of struggling with this dam crap I’m like overnight cured. or whatever you call it. If you are struggling maybe you need these pills too

  • I am a type two diabetic and a friend of mine had just told me about a new product. It’s called.Glucolate it is a natural product the controls glucose I was shocked because all that you do is you mix it with water and let it sit for two minutes and then drink it before each meal I was astounded to learn that it was bringing down my A1c Now that I’ve been on it for almost a month I was averaging around 11.2 and now I’m averaging around 7.3. It is amazing. I wish there was more advertising so people would learn.

  • PCOS caused my diabetes. Funnily enough, got diagnosed with diabetes (literally out of nowhere) before I got diagnosed with PCOS. Now that I know the cause it’s been easier for me to proceed with lifestyle changes. PCOS makes it EXTREMELY hard to lose weight. I’ve been fighting for my life to keep off the five pounds I’ve lost so far on Ozempic.

  • The liver CAN absorb glucose without insulin using GLUT 1, 2 or 3 as insulin is only needed with GLUT4. You also neglect to mention that insulin is required to uptake certain amino acids, specifically phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan, all prerequisites for catecholamine production. No mention of the different types of diabetes, I, II Insipidus etc. Very poor website.

  • Diabetes is a death sentence. There is no controlling it. When it takes over in your body and starts destroying it you’re in you have no choice and there’s no stopping at no matter what medicines currently are available. My thought is that it has to be stopped at the molecular level. With or without current medications you got it what is the point in fighting it when it’s just going to be continued deterioration and failure of your body overtime. When all one has to live for by treating diabetes is sitting in a chair eating sleeping taking medicine eating sleeping excreting. This is no way to live

  • Reversal of Type II is rare. You can manage the condition with a low-carb diet and exercise and maybe supplementation, but most of the time as soon as you eat something that spikes your insulin, the cellular resistance returns in minutes. Even if your blood glucose has been trending “normal” for months or years. Think management, not cure.

  • 32 with type two and im so depressed like i know i could had better rating habits so FULL ACCOUNTABILITY! but its scary because on and off all.fay im cool then i get really hot feeling all.over my body and that spikes my anxiety and panic disorder!
