How To Stop Engaging In Former Pastimes?

Before giving up a hobby, it is crucial to assess the reasons behind it. Loss of interest in old hobbies can stem from over-familiarity, shifts in personal values, or physical and mental exhaustion. In today’s connected world, technology offers various ways to rekindle interest in an old hobby, such as apps that provide guidance and track progress, and online communities that offer support and inspiration.

To let go of old or failed hobbies, take a break from your passion, set a specific time for doing nothing, and take small steps towards regaining confidence and motivation. Making micro to-do lists can be helpful in this process.

A 5 Step Guide to Get Back Into Old Hobbies With a Clear Mind:

  1. Assess why you stopped in the first place.
  2. Take small steps if there is a hobby that you used to love but have lost interest in. Challenge yourself to learn something new about it or break up a larger project into smaller steps. Set aside a little time each day to tackle just one thing. Gradually practice those hobbies and interests, and with time, you will be able to bring them back.
  3. Get hobbies that involve other people. Take adult community classes like calligraphy, tennis, volleyball, or even meet someone special.

Losing interest in everything that you used to love is a sign that something is wrong, most likely because you are feeling negative emotions.

In conclusion, choosing an old hobby that you used to love and reflecting on what made you enjoy it in the first place can turn your post-breakup chapter into a journey of empowerment and rediscovery.

Is it normal to have zero hobbies?

In today’s world, hobbies can seem like a distant fantasy, especially in the era of stress and burnout. However, psychologists Schwarz and other experts suggest that hobbies are activities that one enjoys in their spare time. Instead of feeling pressure to list hobbies, people should simply ask themselves, “What do I derive pleasure from or enjoy doing?” This approach may make it easier to answer questions about hobbies and their meaning to us today. By focusing on what we derive pleasure from or enjoy doing, we can better understand and appreciate our hobbies.

What is the 5 hobby rule?

Hobbies are essential for individuals to combat loneliness and boredom. The five hobbies rule suggests that one hobby should keep you active, creative, make you money, build knowledge, and evolve your mindset. Hobbies are not just for fun but also help keep you involved in something, especially if you struggle with free time. Here are some fun hobbies to try:

  1. Relaxing: After a long day at school, it’s beneficial to take a break and engage in activities that improve your mental health and make you excited for the next activity.

Hobbies are not just for fun; they also help keep you involved in something, especially if you struggle with having too much free time.

Why do I fall out of love with hobbies?

Anhedonia, a symptom of depression, is a loss of interest in hobbies, passions, and entertainment sources, which can significantly impact relationships, sexual health, work productivity, and hobby enjoyment. Low serotonin levels are believed to cause this aversion. If you find yourself struggling to enjoy life, you are not alone. This guide provides coping skills for those experiencing anhedonia, ensuring you can continue to enjoy life.

How do I restart an old hobby?

To rekindle a hobby, explore online resources such as YouTube, blogs, and local community centers for tutorials, guides, and support. Check local community centers for classes and workshops, where you can meet like-minded individuals and learn more about your hobby. Connecting with like-minded people on social media platforms like Facebook groups, online forums, and Instagram or Pinterest can also help you stay motivated and find networks of people who share your interests. These resources can help you find the right balance of learning and support to keep you motivated and engaged in your hobby.

How do I let go of an old hobby?

To give old hobbies a second life, share the love with someone else, donate supplies to thrift stores, nursing homes, or free Facebook groups, and place them where they’ll be seen often. For hobbies that need to be revived, find a community on Facebook for people who share your passions.

To make time for hobbies, open your calendar and block off time every week to spend on them. If you’d prefer to rest during that time, go for it. However, blocking off just a bit of your week will eliminate the excuse “I don’t have time”. By doing so, you can make it easier to remember and pick up your hobbies when you have spare time. Additionally, make time for what you love by focusing on what you love and avoiding the excuses of “I don’t have time”.

Is it OK to lose interest in a hobby?

Disinterest can be due to feelings of uninspiration or loss of interest in old hobbies, but it can also indicate a mental health condition like depression. If this loss is making it difficult to cope or interferes with your life, it is crucial to seek help from a physician or mental health professional. Depression can worsen over time, so it is essential to seek help as soon as possible to regain your passion for the things that bring joy. Depression can be a challenging experience, but it can be a positive step towards recovery. By resuming hobbies and interests, one can feel more motivated and fulfilled. It is important to approach this process gently and with patience, similar to giving time to a struggling friend. Choose an activity that you enjoy and invite a friend to join you, without overthinking. Enjoy the feeling of achievement and carry it with you on your journey.

Reflect on what attracted you to hobbies and the accomplishments you made while pursuing these interests. Determine when depression began and what caused you to feel a lack of motivation and doubt. Consider other goals you may be interested in, as depression can lead to negative directions and hinder life fulfillment.

Baby steps can be helpful in regaining motivation. By waking up and doing something small, you can take another step towards achieving your goals. Feeling good about achieving something, even if it is insignificant, can help you feel better about your progress.

Loss of interest can be a sign of a mental health condition, such as depression, stress, or substance misuse. Depression is a key symptom, while stress can lead to burnout and loss of motivation. Substance misuse can also cause interest loss and withdrawal from activities, friends, and conflict. If symptoms are due to a mental health condition, a doctor may recommend treatments. Why do none of my old hobbies interest me anymore?

Losing interest in hobbies can be a sign of depression or a change in interest or stress. It is crucial to connect with oneself and find the reason for stopping activities. If a professional counselor or psychologist is not available, scheduling time for hobbies can help reconnect with people or things that bring happiness. This may feel like a forced activity, but in the long run, it can help reconnect with people or things that make you happy.

Depression is a common characteristic, and depression chat rooms and the Depression Path can be helpful resources. Losing interest in hobbies may indicate negative emotions such as stress, depression, or anxiety. It is essential to find a support system and find a way to reconnect with loved ones and activities that bring you happiness.

When to walk away from a hobby?

When to walk away from a hobby?

If you find yourself struggling with a hobby that feels like a chore, it may be time to reassess if it’s the right one for you. This doesn’t mean giving up completely, but finding ways to make a change. For instance, you might enjoy sewing more when there’s less pressure to finish a project. Stick to basic and intermediate projects and don’t bother with more advanced ones. Additionally, if you consistently put off a hobby even when the opportunity arises, it might not be your thing.

Instead, focus on the ones you enjoy and stop feeling obligated or pressured by the ones you don’t. This doesn’t mean giving up or getting rid of anything, but focusing on the ones you enjoy and not feeling obligated or pressured by others.

Is it OK to quit a hobby?

Is it OK to quit a hobby?

Passion for various interests and activities can fluctuate throughout our lives, and abandoning hobbies should be normal as we grow and gain new experiences. Quitting is a conscious decision to redefine our identity, limits, and passions, putting the past behind us and allowing the train to continue. Quitting may seem like a flaw, but it can be beneficial in embracing the right things at the right time. Recognizing what isn’t worth your time can lead to better appreciation for hobbies and a happier life.

Some hobbies, such as origami, drawing, and Contest of Champions, can be valuable for personal growth and understanding. For example, origami taught me that my pastimes matter and should not be thrown in the bin. Drawing led me to focus on analyzing art rather than creating it, while Contest of Champions was a game I disliked.

Suffering for success may be valuable in certain aspects of life, but if success isn’t worth the suffering, then there’s no harm in no pain and more gains. Learn to love quitting and don’t frame it as having commitment issues.

  • We broke up yesterday. Today was our anniversary and I feel a deep, somehow burning void in my chest. It all happened so fast. I feel like I did something wrong, even though we broke up in good terms and knowing it was the best decision we could make… I still feel like I “played the game wrong”, like I wanna restart this level and try again…

  • It’s been almost a month since my ex broke up with me and for a while I felt like I lost a piece of myself. Although I know it was for the best and we ended in friendly terms it still hurts… however this experience has taught me that pain is all a part of growing up and I can either hide from it or embrace it

  • It is hard to leave an on- off relationship. I never thought I would experience it myself. It is so easy to say it to friends to break up until you are caught in your own drama. Both want each other, but both know it will be unhealthy. Breaking up because of cheating or loss of feeling is way easier. But being told to have feelings for you but can not have a relationship due to avoidant tendencies is hard, man. Always these push and pull situations. I now understand these people more. You have to experience it to feel the inner conflict that tears you apart. Update: After more contact and a sleepover, I thought this was a turning point. But I was wrong, I have been ghosted after telling her that this can not continue. She either says yes or no bc this shit is exhausting. I was really polite, and her reaction no to answer to my simple request of a yes or no, just showed me her true nature. She always played games and this was just a test if she could still have me. Sucks to fall for a narcissist person. I should have seen it coming. Now I will try to be cautious as hell. Sadly, I have attracted borderline and narcissist partners. They are related in their nature and have one thing in common, they use you to make them feel good, and then they toss you away with little regard for your feelings. Why? Because there is always someone new to fulfill their insatiable need of validation and self-love. Be aware if you are an empath and want to help people. A lot of people take but little return your goodness.

  • It’s extremely hard to see that most of these points apply to your relationship……. We’re long distance with the furthest distance possible and it isn’t even the distance that’s killing us but the bad communication, not feeling loved anymore etc. when we actually wanted to get married……especially the topic of “here we go again” hit hard

  • Cool article, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her

  • This one hit really hard… I’m 38 and I’ve been in a toxic relationship for almost 15 years. And just 4 years were decent. Turns out he is a narcisist that gaslighted me horribly. His family has been the worst influence in his life since they consider corruption and questionable businesses a normal thing to do. I’ve been so miserable…I had just broken up with the love of my life (who sadly cheated on me) when he presented himself like a knight in shining armor. I fell in love with him but he became such a greedy, offensive, secretive and lying person. When he was at his worst time I helped him but now that I’m at my worst because of health issues and depression he has shown his real dark side. I think he is bipolar like his mother was. I can’t stand him anymore. The only reason I’m with him is because of our beautiful dog. I love him so much that I can’t leave him behind. And because I don’t want to be alone…but I am ready to leave. I just need to figure out how to force him to let me be with my little boy. I’ve endured so much. May God help me.

  • While being broken up with is awful and hard, the guilt that comes with breaking up with someone who is still in love with you is almost unbearable. The guilt I feel about waking up one day during my sobriety journey and feeling completely empty and not wanting to be in it anymore is gut-wrenching. I never wanted this to happen, but it did and I feel so horrible. Our values just didn’t align and we were in completely different places in our lives. I just couldn’t see a future together that would work. I know I’ve broken his heart and I can barely even try to forgive myself for it. He was the best partner I’ve ever had and I’m so grateful for him, but it just wasn’t meant to be. My intuition told me that for a long time, but I was distracting myself from it through using. Much love to everyone in the comments going through something similar.

  • ended things with my ex partner a couple days before our 1 yr anniversary and its the first time in a long time I’ve felt physical pain after breaking up. Even tho we ended things on good terms I became emotional distant over the past couple months and our disagreements always revisted the same root problem(his trust issues) and I’ve come to realize its easier if we split truly I don’t want it, because its easy to stay where youre comfortable rather than be uncomfortable having to adjust and grow okay with being alone. but its important to remember when they no longer choose to love you its okay because you’ll always love yourself and don’t stay where you aren’t happy <3

  • I actually enjoy perusal my fiancé play article games. While he does tend to occasionally put things before my needs like nearly missing my lunch break at work because of an internet argument, he always brings it back and does something special and selfless for me the next time. He was there the next time I worked and helped me get through a lot of emotions that were weighing on me.

  • The timing for this is crazy! I’m planning to break up with my bf this weekend, but it hurts being the one to break up. Especially when all of my stuff is still there. But I’m 33, want a family and kids, and he’s flip flopped on kids so many times (I’ve known him for 9 years) and doesn’t believe in marriage, that I don’t want to keep wasting my time before I get too old and cant have kids anymore. It sucks because I still care about him, but we have way too many different viewpoints in life and what the future holds. Any advice for how to break up with someone, before moving all your stuff out?

  • I needed to see this article.. I was trying to hold onto us and it wasn’t worth it.. She was never the one for me but I always put her on a pedestal, she couldn’t even respect my basic needs with reassurance & quality time. We got into the same arguments over and over again and I could feel her slowly pulling herself away, spending more time with friends & prioritizing everything that wasn’t me. Better times are ahead, and we’ll all find a partner that truly loves & values us the way we want to be.

  • it’s so hard for me to let go. to accept that the person, who meant the world and more to will no longer be here. and you have to overcome this, but without this person. all on your own. i can’t believe i won’t talk to him again. it was me who left. but it was for the best. when i remember his last words such as ‘i will always remember you and i am very proud of you to make this decision. please, know that with time the pain and the void will feel less intense. you will have a happy life. i will miss you’. saying goodbye is very hard, dealing with those feelings is so much hard, missing is insane but realizing that you no more have rhis special person is just killing. i don’t know how i will cope.

  • “breakup is hard for everyone” It was never hard for him. “I was diagnosed with tumor and my early ex has left the country when we got together. I really loved you, but my brain just tricked me into it. I needed someone by my side and i don’t need that anymore,” he said. I don’t need signs to understand that this breakup is good for me, but being used for someones comfort and then thrown away is really breaking my heart.

  • It’s weird seeing this article pop up in my sub box gave me a jolt of anxiety, almost because the truth was staring right at me. My ex of a serious long term relationship actually broke up with me two years ago now and at the time I couldn’t understand and was devestated by it, perusal this article now and being able to reflect more objectively makde me feel like I could really resonate with a lot of the points, mainly 3 and 6. My emotional needs weren’t being met at all but I told myself everything was fine because I had invested so much into the relationship and put my ex partner on such a pedestal that I felt they could do no wrong, but looking back they were barely even trying to participate in the relationship anymore. And although I never felt like I couldn’t chase dreams or be open about certain opinions, I do feel I was putting so much focus on the relationship that I had accidentally started neglecting my friendships, family and career, now all those needs are being met far more than they were and my happiness is far more spread out amongst many needs, rather than all my happiness being dependent upon my partner. If anyone reading this is going through a breakup or feels it’s time to breakup then please know that it really does get better. I thought my whole world had ended when my ex broke up with me and now I’m really happy again, and the things that are making me happy are much more healthy and sustainable than the happiness from the relationship was. I still miss my ex and hope they’re doing okay but you can miss someone and still know that breaking up was the correct thing to do.

  • I would just like to say that I really appreciate this website. I am still in school and I just had my first REAL heartbreak 4 days ago, and just at about midnight today, I found out that he broke up with me for a reason he wasn’t completely sure about, and that he just didnt feel happy. At first I felt that I was to blame, but then I thought about how he made me feel for the past 4 months and how his actions often caused me to question my self-worth. (I often tried to think about what he would like, rather than what I also like, if that makes sense) I refered back to this website, and considering this article was posted pretty much right after I found out, it has helped me so much. This website does great things and I am glad I found it. To whoever runs this, I hope you know you are doing wonders and have helped me so much; you have really pulled me out of some dark corners. Please know you are loved and appreciated ❤️ (p.s, sorry for spelling/grammar mistakes. Haven’t been sleeping well as of late)

  • I broke up with my fiancé weeks ago. It was a painful decision but I’m sure it’s good for me. I wasn’t happy in the relationship for a while but I couldn’t be honest to myself. Whenever he said he loves me, I would get back to him. You actually don’t need signs to tell yourself if a breakup is good for you. A simple question can do – are you happy? If the answer is hell no, there is no reason to stay in the relationship anymore.

  • I’ve been in a relationship for the past 10 years, and for the longest time it was a wonderful relationship. But about a year-and-a-half ago, she moved in with me. And ever since, I’ve been feeling my passion for the relationship waning… The worst part is, she’s not really even doing anything wrong, nor has she really even changed. The two of us rarely ever argue, and we’re both pretty good at supporting each other emotionally. Yet when she comes home from work, I’m not excited to see her anymore. These days I find myself thinking “Well, she’s home, I guess my alone time is over. Great.” I almost wonder if a live-in relationship just isn’t for me. I’ve always been extremely introverted, borderline asocial. Part of me thinks that a bigger living space would do me good. Like if I had an office I could just hide away in when I want to be alone, which I don’t have in the studio apartment we’re currently in. But that’s a big commitment. Best case, I find a good sized apartment and sign a year’s lease. Worst case, I have to buy a house and now have a mortgage to deal with. And what if it doesn’t help? Then if we split up anyway, one of us is now stuck with a living space that we might not be able to afford alone. I feel guilty for thinking about breaking up. Like I’ve just been leading her on, for 10 years. As far as I can tell, she’s still very much in love with me, which just makes it even worse. But it’s not like I could’ve known I was going to turn out like this. Earlier on in the relationship, all I ever wanted was for the two of us to finally get to live together, and not have to spend so much time apart anymore.

  • I still think about my ex from high school. We had a great thing going. But it was clear we were going in different directions. I would’ve just slowed her down anyway with how my life went for a time. But the connection? To this day I haven’t found anyone like her. I truly think she was the one who got away. And I’m just so unsure of if I can ever muster the strength to approach another girl when I don’t even know what to say to get her attention or keep her interested. That’s the effect of low self esteem I guess…

  • My partner and I broke up 9 days ago today. Unfortunately, I could relate to all 6 of the signs 😢Though I still love her a lot, I knew that breaking up with her was best for us… It was such a hard thing to do, breaking up with her and going our separate ways while we still loved each other. As much as it sucks, even if I’m not in her life, I still want her to be happy. < 3

  • I’ve thought about breaking up with my bf because of my mental health, or rather lack thereof, thinking he’d be better off and happier not having to deal with me. But time and time again, he showed me that he truly loves me and doesn’t want anyone else. It’s hard having these feelings ’cause even if he did break up with me over that, I think I’d absolutely lose it and off myself. And I hate it when I hurt him because of the way I think and process things, the last thing I want is to hurt him and when I inevitably do, I break down and feel so shit, but he just holds me and tries to calm me down saying its okay or nothing happened, even though something did happen and its my fault. Sorry, i just needed to rant

  • I’ve counted. I’ve been through about 12-13 of them… I’m 21 years old now, so… I truly hope this healthy relationship will be one we can heal from. I’ll take notes of these. We only got the “Emotional Distance” one right now since we’re a few states away today. Trying not to end up like their parents is a lot of pressure on them, so we’ve gotta make sure we’re communicating 100% on our schedules so we can make time for each other even online.

  • What if you are in an on and off again relationship because you both just really want it to work? There is no avoidant, you both really want to build something together, but the circumstances always get in between. It’s tearing me apart. My ex and I have had a break before and now we are broken up again…We always got back together. I just can not imagine myself with anyone else. I want to make him happy, but somehow there is always something that I do wrong according to him. I just want him back and things to work out :'(

  • I decided to break up with my boyfriend a little over a week ago (haven’t broken up yet because I realized it not too long before a big trip we were planning on going on and I figured it would be better to wait until after the trip), but I keep on wondering if maybe I’m just not trying hard enough, maybe I just need to be a better communicator and that will fix things. But perusal this article and realizing that I meet 4/6 of the conditions listed helped me to be certain that I’m making the right decision, even if it hurts. The hard thing is that I know it’ll really hurt him because he thinks the relationship is going fine, but that’s the whole problem with the relationship: I keep making myself and my wants smaller to make room for him, and whenever I try to speak up, it feels like he doesn’t hear what I’m saying. I just know that I can’t stay in this relationship any longer, but I feel really bad whenever I think about actually going through with it and ending the relationship, because I don’t want to hurt him.

  • Me and my partner broke up not too long ago, we broke up due to unresolved problems getting piled up one after another. I was feeling very devastated at the time mainly because I still wanted us to fight for each other. Not long after we broke up, my now-ex partner found someone new to start their story with and I’m left alone questioning where we went wrong.

  • Currently going through a break up, lasted 7 years and I dearly miss her and As much as I hate to say it, the break up is good because it brought up alot of issues I didn’t get over or didn’t realize we’re a problem, and I’m working towards bettering my mental state and I hope one day she’ll give me a chance again

  • Def on the fence about all of this but deep down I know I need to leave. NOT because he is a bad person, just because we are both incompatible and always arguing. It makes it harder when you live together though, and renting is already so expensive. I hope that in 6 months time everything has worked out ♡

  • I did this a long time ago now and I know I had to, but it still destroyed my spirit. I don’t know if I’ll ever truly recover from it. My life is still a roller coaster of ups and downs and I know I had to do it at the time, but I don’t know if I’ll ever love again to be honest. I can’t even get my own damn life together and I don’t want to ever drag someone else into my own uncertainty. I don’t know there’s so much uncertainty in life that I doubt I can ever be certain about anything ever again. All I know is that alone at least, the only one I can hurt is myself, and that I’m at least comfortable with…

  • The only thing I can say yes to is that the goals between my ex and me were différent. We’re both moving away and I struggle with it every day since she ended it. I’m constantly asking the question of whether or not things would be better with or without her and I can’t imagine anything would be better without her… feeling so stuck and lost because I don’t feel like this should end 🙁 thanks for the lesson though Psych2Go

  • The light switch relationships are awful. Sadly all my 3 serious ones were like that. So yes, even if it hurts, it’s better to end them and go away instead sitting in an unhealthy circle. So…. maybe here can be a tip for a new episode? For example how to get rid of the trauma and how to start to want get involved in a new relation? Maybe you guys can make a article about if if you hadn’t yet?

  • I actually had it where I broke up with my ex last year. I went on a Disneyworld trip last May. I got back, and my ex said he didn’t really have time to miss me or notice much difference. Yes, he wound up saying they weren’t the right words, but they were said. I also got to a point where it was stale, it was all routine and the same thing. I actually wanted to hang out with my current fiancé more. Summer of last year, I went out to the fuel station at our grocery store because I got the impression I was causing my ex stress by being at work (we worked at the same place). I also had it where in 2020, my chocolate lab Leroy passed. I was telling my ex what happened and he actually texted me to stop because he was hanging out with his friend and it made him cry. Finally July 3 of last year, I broke up with him. I gave myself a week before starting dating my other coworker, who became my current fiancé. I actually have gotten out of my toxic parents’ house, live with my fiancé, and I’m actually doing a lot better than i have in a while. My fiancé and i have created a safe space for us

  • This is what breaks up a relationship: Unforgiveness, lack of care, immaturity, change in moral standards, mental health, change in financial situation, greed, pride and lust. If you can be the same person as you were when you met your “chosen one” AND that person also remains the same, then both will remain in the same relationship until they die. People change and most don’t know how to deal with change. The body will grow and mature on its own, but the mind matures differently. “And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over,” – Romans 12:2

  • I was perusal this hoping a breakup was what was best for my recent relationship but we didn’t really have any of these signs. Maybe parts of these signs but nothing so drastic the relationship couldn’t work. We broke up because my family didn’t approve and he didn’t want to tear a family apart…. I respect his decision and the breakup was somewhat mutual but this sucks

  • I should’ve broken up with my ex-boyfriend sooner, but I stayed and kept going back to him. This led to a 6-year long toxic relationship until we broke up for good last February. We were on-and-off in the first 2 years of our relationship, we always argued about his dishonesty and how I wanted him to get his GED and go to college, and I want to move out and get my own place and maybe move to another state while he wants to continue living with his parents. He was also emotionally absent because he always kept looking at his phone whenever we were out together. We finally broke up when he cheated on me. I was crushed to let go of him, but suddenly I stepped out and discovered my true self. I became more inspired to write more song lyrics for my band’s potential music, I started attending more concerts and music festivals, and I became a part of the alternative community. I feel so liberated now that I can be the real me!

  • The worst part is when you have a partner who has unresolved trauma and continually creates problems where there isn’t any. They assume the worst in everyone, including yourself, despite all evidence to the contrary. Then they never give anyone a chance to show who they actually are, or you (the SO) a chance to deny false accusations and set the record straight. Shouldn’t even have to come to that when you haven’t even done anything, but that’s why we’re perusal a breakup article…

  • Guys, you should not be quick to judge of anyone is an narcissist or borderliner. Borderline People actually do not want harm, they feel stronger emotion than normal people to a point where they lose touch to reality and need time to think clearly. Thats why a lot of borderliner harm themselves because they would rather feel the physical pain than what they feel inside. Pain is Agony and Sadness turns to Torture. They dont mean any harm. They are usually really caring and have a lot of understaning towards others because they can relate so much, cause they feel so much.

  • 3 days ago ive broken up with my boyfriend, we have been in a on and off relationships for the past 9 months, I can say that we have been arguing every single night about every single little thing, I was never really happy with him because i never had room for my belives and needs in it, but now that i am not with him anymore and I can say that I wasnt the best gf because most of the time I would to anything not to stay/talk with him, but now that ive cut contact of any kind with him.. I miss him and i regret all my past actions, I really loved him but also now i feel more free without something to always worry about.. He already found another woman so ig he never really loved me either but it hurts knowing that he needed that little time to move on..

  • I am in a long distance relationship and my partner will move even more far away. And in the future he doesnt know if he wants to live abroad. Its hard because I dont see any perspectives in the future for us. And I am not happy in long distance because we cant see each other often. I just dont know what to do. Besides that we have a good relationship and have a good communication

  • My benefits of break up: 1. I started to workout again 2. No junk food 3. I can go out with my friends and return home late with no questions asked. 4. I Don’t have to deal with validation from partners friends. 5. Buy whatever I want. 6. Play article games to heart’s content. 7. I get to watch educational/Knowledgeable content rather than pity fictional romance drama. 8. Finally, I can be myself. I won’t search for the lost love. I’ll just let it find me.

  • I knew before dating my now ex I didn’t want a relationship, but he was so persistent on dating and I was such a people-pleaser, I gave in. And throughout the entire relationship I had this little voice in the back of my head that knew we weren’t meant to be. But I kept ignoring it because I didn’t want to hurt him and I had gotten so used to him being there, I was afraid of losing him completely. 8 months later (I know not that long but still) I completely lost myself in our relationship and then one day he sexually assualts me and dumped me the next day. It’s weird to be heartbroken over something you deep down knew wouldn’t work out.

  • My ex broke up with me almost 2 months ago now, and I ever since the first day I’ve wanted to get back with them. Even now I still want it. Im afraid that it may be because of loneliness, but I just want to believe that I want to be with them simply because I truly love them and loved their company. We were facing the “always with the same argument” problem, but I still think it could’ve been solved. But its too late for that, I think. I don’t want to be in an on-off relationship.

  • I ended my seven year relationship almost a week ago and it says a lot that I feel happier now. I haven’t cried since Wednesday and I finally feel like I’m in control of my life now. There were so many things/reasons that kept me from going through with the break-up, but I made my decision that my emotional needs were not being met anymore, my life was revolving around him, and even though he’s a wreck right now, he can only blame himself. It shouldn’t have taken me seven years to come to this decision and that was on me. Watch out for the red flags, don’t believe that time will fix anything. If they can’t be better with your support, they need to help themselves because you can only do so much. I did everything I could for him and he never accepted help until now that it’s too late. He asked me for another chance, yet I said no, that I had already given him too many chances and that he shouldn’t have needed me to do this in order to realize everything that was wrong with us

  • We both love each other We complete each other in a lot of ways But i cant see a future with her simply because of religion differences Its been 2 days since ive talked with her about this and i told her we need to break up but she isn’t giving up on us And im too in love to ghost her i just cant Im gonna trust God on this one If any one have advice please write here

  • You have to be strong and make sure that you’re not with them because you don’t want to be alone in this moment. Think LONG TERM. After a breakup, you’ll never be happy short term. You’ll be very down at first. But long term… you might be much, much happier. Are you free in your relationship? Can you be yourself? Are you comfortable, as if you were alone? Do you still desire them? Do you feel you’re seen as equally important as your partner? Do you still talk to each other and spend intentional time together sometimes? These are all very important things to consider.

  • I am 4 months into the end of a 24 year relationship with my children’s father. In the beginning, it hurt so bad. I questioned myself, and even blamed myself. I cried a lot during the first 2 months. Even in the midst of my tears, I knew that the break-up was necessary for both myself, my ex, and our boys. I have two sons, and they don’t really have a relationship with their father. I became bitter and resentful during the relationship because of him not developing a relationship with them, and for him not being the partner I needed him to be. I wanted out of the relationship years ago, but I was too afraid to make the first move. I have sometimes prayed that God would put something in my path to put an end to the relationship. Him leaving me for another woman was the answer to my prayer. I’m grateful for the break-up. I’m happier, healthier, and my sons are happier too.

  • The problem with most people is that they want someone who looks like them, when that’s the worst thing you can do. True love is built on the complementarity of one and the other, not on similarities. I have spent almost my entire life in a relationship until my current partner, with whom I have been for 10 years, and even if there are ups and downs, we take the time to help each other, to share, to live together, to communicate and to make efforts for each other, with each other. For me, true love is built over the long term with complementary projects and visions (which can be combined). This way we both win by doing what we love without forcing one way or the other because it can work together.

  • I’m currently in a relationship that I don’t want to be in. I love him to death, he’s the second best thing that’s ever happened to me, but he’s so goddamn annoying. When I’m trying to study for an exam, he spams me with compliments, trying to get me to answer him. He interrupts my time with my friends because “he loves me”, and it’s so goddamn annoying. I love him, but he’s too fucking nice and so fucking annoying. I don’t want to hurt his feelings, but I don’t think this is what I want

  • me and my bf have this on and off thing, but he is the one who always does it, and i want to commit to him but he is unsure about it beacuse he’s fears and don’t let me help him or don’t want to talk it out either. I need to let him go for now i think. But if he is the one, maybe once we’re healed and in a personal grow, we find our way back to eachother. ❤️

  • Do I have a prisum and a string with a bead tri pod compass thing for finding level if u walk at a Mirror I see what I mean 🎉 whole room in here lamp or hot in side tv broken replace fascinating those sparkles are rainbows 🌈 u now have thelectric rainbow guitar hav fun just like only burns when turns to and smolders on the wire smoky awesome rainbow no pluc rythin straight string watch record split up no magic i promis

  • I said yes to all of them and I’m sure I won’t be spending my rest of the life with my current partner but he never tries to understand my perspective and maybe we have different thinking but I never resonated with his thoughts and values moreover we disagree on everything these days😔 it’s the worst phase of my life bcoz i am also preparing for some competitive exams and this distracts me alot😔 I don’t know if I should breakup or not I also think I don’t deserve him but I know I’m better off without him💔😔 I just want to feel happy and less burdened about my relationship which should bring me peace😔

  • You merge identities with someone and it’s hard to have a personal life. Their is no more personal life because we don’t take care of our own personal interests for fear that it will put space between what you love and who you love. I have friends that work, live and play together and it’s all just too much time for 2 people to be together. And they hate eachother. Sometimes hate that they love one another. The lone between love and hate becomes so thin it’s blurred.

  • thank u for this. i honestly had a really great bf 9ish months ago, but our future goals & values just didnt align. i still think he’s the nicest/sweetest person i ever met but it just wouldnt have made sense if we kept things going. i was heartbroken to break ties. but this article reminded me that i’ll be okay and he & i will one day find our own partners that will suit our fancies.!! :))

  • Honestly you guys upload too often. Sum of the stuff is good but Id rather learn about something new than see 5 articles about the same thing in a row. If I am see 3 articles in the same day by one YouTube website in my subscription tab it doesn’t make me want to watch more, it makes me want to unsubscribe. Jst trying to offer some feedback. A Lot of my Discord friends said they unsubscribe this website for the same reason.

  • man youtube really on it with the timing of suggesting this article. i got broken up with the other day. and it hurts a lot. the second day hurt the worst so far. today i was mostly fine until i reminded myself of them and broke down into tears. i knew the relationship wasn’t really good but i loved them and i’d do anything for them. i still would. i still care about them and want to do so much for them still despite how it went. we’re not really on talking terms and i don’t know if we ever will be again

  • I broke up with him two days ago. I was causing too many problems and even losing interest, I thought itd be worse if i dragged this and ended things with him. He was and still is the sweetest person i know, and we agreed on staying friends, but he is having such a hard time i cant help to feel guilty and even regretful. I dont know if im still sure i did the right thing.

  • I feel like being in a relationship with someone with the hopes that they will grow… like you’re staying with them only on the condition that they do grow as people and stop hurting you, that in a few years it could work, you’re just waiting on them to improve as a partner.. That’s another reason to break up. It’s not fair to the other person either, to have that unspoken ultimatum of either you grow or we’re done. It doesn’t help with their growth at all. Sometimes people just need to grow some more- alone, outside the relationship because it’s taxing on you too to deal with that lack of growth, it’s not good for your mental health and it’s a conflict of interest. And once that person takes some time to grow outside your relationship, you MIGHT be able to get back together but you can not be depending on that. People either grow, or actively are working towards growth for any period of time, or don’t, and that’s not something you can rely on because it’s not fair to them either because growth is a very personal thing for the person growing. You being involved in pressuring them into that process won’t be good for them anyway… Just say goodbye, it’s ok.

  • I ended my engagement to someone I was with for 3 years about a month ago and it hurts so much. He was my best friend but we just could not grow individually while together. I wasn’t planning of raising a grown man and I had fallen into unmotivated and unhealthy habits that needed to be resolved with us being alone and separate. It’s so hard to break up with someone when they didnt commit a huge nonnegotiable like cheating. When the spark just isn’t there, it makes you wish you hated the person cause the pain would be easier.

  • I know i need to….. everyone in my life at one point or another has said we shouldnt be together….but even if im ready to lose him romantically, im not ready to lose him as a whole….im not ready to lose him as a friend…..im not ready…..but its been almost five years and things aren’t getting better. I know he loves me and i care about him DEEPLY and i don’t want to hurt him….but im just not ready….

  • I’ve been with my bf for 5 years. We fight often. According to him, I’m always the one who makes him upset by something do. I’ll just be living my life & he will blow up. He berates me, insults me, puts me down, makes me feel crazy. We live together, but after so many years, I’ve fallen out of love because I just don’t have a self-esteem or confidence as a person in a relationship. He always apologizes and says he loves me….but I’m so depressed I can’t even look at him. I don’t know how to escape

  • my boyfriend broke up with me after a 2 year relationship only to take a break for a bit. i grew up with him and it’s almost been 11 years that we’ve known eachother. he made promises saying he’d always love me but last night he told me he wouldn’t always love me and he didn’t care about the future we planned together. i dont know what to do i feel so empty without him. all i can do is cry knowing he doesn’t love me but i love him.

  • Mine just broke up with me 20 minutes ago… maybe it was for the best. He broke up because we were in a long term relationship and he said it wasn’t worth the anxiety with him thinking about me all the time at school interfering with his work, he thinks about me bc he knows how my parents are and that I’m secretly depressed. I’m a teenager and my parents think mental issues are just labels so they don’t even try to get me help. So here we are with my fuzzy snowman blanket and tear filled eye bags…

  • It’s funny that all of these 6 signs were present in our relationship. I endured this for many years because I never wanted to leave someone I loved. I feared the damage of being left by someone you invested love, time, and effort that would cause them. But guess what? I finally broke up with him on March 28, 2024 (2 days ago) because I feel like it will be for the betterment and growth of each other. I watched this article today because I searched for “Why do I feel heavy after we broke up even though I am the one who left?” and this popped up. Thank you psych 2 go!

  • I’ve never been in a relationship before, i cannot get both emotionally nor physically close to anyone, I’m 16, and I still don’t have anyone I fully trust except for my mom, I keep everyone at arms length, maybe even longer than that 😅,those who are within arms length with me means I trust them to at least not leave me, I don’t even know what my definition of a friend is anymore…, I am kind of jealous of those who are in a relationship(good relationships of course), they have someone they trust so much, I can’t tell who I really trust anymore😂, am I the only one like that?

  • ive been through this really stressful year, ive been jobless for most of it, barely making ends meet. and i have a gf thats been with me for 10 years, nearly 11. but ive noticed she seems to be completely terrified of intimacy in any fashion, be it physical or emotional. she doesnt even want to leave home to live with me. so ive laid it bare that i need someone to be with me and commit and not someone who i visit from time to time at their parents place. im giving her time to think about the few things i need when i decide to be with somebody, and shes been telling me for years shes thinking about it. so if anybody can say it its probably me: breakups arent fun. and tbh if i can id like this one to stay vibrant and happy. but if they arent sure of what they need or are able to agree with, then yeah….thats a pretty good sign i think too. especially with a long term relationship.

  • I just broke up with my boyfriend yesterday, after one of those situations of on-off. I knew it wasn’t for me since day one, but I wanted to be loved, even though I couldn’t see myself with him in the future. Due to that, I ignored my boundaries, desires and dreams, turning me into a bitter person. It wasn’t his fault and he deserves the best, but man, this is so painful. I am crying while I;m writing this, i don’t even know if it makes sense. P.S: In a couple of hours I have a job interview and I don’t know how the hell I am going to do that.

  • I don’t feel like I should break up with him. Because I’m too afraid of him committing suicide. Considering that he was bullied at school until about 4 years ago, that his family is completely screwed up and that they don’t love him so much, and that two of his very close friends passed away about a month ago. All of these are factors that lead him to depression. .I suggested to him that he might go see a psychologist, but he refused, saying that it would not help him. I also went through something like that and he knows it himself, and that’s why I told him that it would help him, but he doesn’t give in. I feel like we argue about the same things too often. I know I’m coming off as a total bitch for this but I can’t take his behavior anymore, I’ll try to hold on until this darkest part of his life is over. Even if I feel like this relationship is suffocating me, I will hold on because I know the chances of him committing suicide if I break up with him now.

  • In the next article could you talk about how alcoholic parents can affect a child’s life and their choices/feelings if you haven’t already? one of my parents is an alcoholic and I feel like that some things that parents say when under the influence can affect your life forever even if they didn’t mean it and I don’t see many people talk about the effects that can have on someone’s life and I think it’s a topic that should be talked about more and something people should be more informed about.

  • I broke that on-and-off relationship 8 days ago. It just cried my eyes out and has been crying for the last 8 days but at the end of the day, I realized it was for good. We argued about the same thing repeatedly and it seemed like I lost my value for him. It was exhausting and draining and had to let it go for good. Even though, I miss him a lot I have to realize that there is someone out there for me who is more compatible and life is fun being single too. I hope time heal us.

  • When the relationship started it felt like we had a spark, but now I just don’t feel it. It feels like just talking to them is annoying, before it was fun and entertaining. I don’t know what to do, I might feel this way because my friend just got broken up with or because we’re putting my dog down. I just don’t know I’m asking YouTube for advice this is how bad it is. Should or should I not break up with them?

  • I was abruptly/completely blindsided with a breakup by my ex boyfriend 2 months ago and it still hurts so bad. We were in no contact for a month, but now talk a few times a week. I can’t lie this article was a little triggering for me, forcing me to think if these were his thoughts. I mentioned these things in the article to him and he said no and that I did nothing wrong and that I was an amazing girlfriend. It just leaves me even more confused and frustrated.

  • I don’t know if somebody will read this, but lately I’ve been trying to take a decision but it’s so hard for me, I know it’s something I should decide by myself but I just want to let it out of my mind. I started my relationship or we started talking 6 almost 7 months ago, everything was good, we got to know each other and we liked everything about the other, my boyfriend confessed he started liking me since last year on june, so he was really happy we could finally talk and even start a relationship. He is such a good person, the best I’ve ever known, he is very expressive and always shows me his love in different ways. I have nothing bad to say about him. He is perfect and I feel really good with him. What is makin me think about ending what we have is since the start of our relationship I had family problems about the fact I have a boyfriend and the fact I go out, but we succesfully solve that problem, well, kind of. Also, I was a really productive person, I barely used my phone, I was very introverted and didn’t like to go out, I had a very good relation with my family and took a lot of care about myself, and I was always studying or exercising, and I always go to bed early, but since we started talking those good habits I had dissapeared because I was investing more and more time in my relationship and I needed to adjust some things about my personality. But don’t get me wrong, I am not regretting what I have done. We have another problem is that we have 1 year of difference in age.

  • i broke up with my fiancé two days ago (Sunday) i didn’t want to do it but he left me No choice.. he wasn’t going to change. There was several “red flags” at the time i didn’t notice until i literally realized two or three days before. Deceiving and manipulative.. used his disability to manipulate people (me) self centered to, all he wants to do is game with his friends and use me for money.. neglecting me and my feelings.. i couldn’t put up with it anymore so i broke it off. I’m still healing, my heart doesn’t hurt as much as yesterday

  • Could someone please offer some insight. I have an amazing girlfriend who is a genuine and very nice person. We have been dating for almost a year, but as the relationship has gone on I just feel that I am not my true happiest self and am spending my time and money in ways that I do not want to. I am going to be graduating from highschool this spring and quite frankly I don’t want to be in a relationship when I am heading into college. I want to do the right thing but I also care about her and don’t want to hurt her if I don’t have to. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 🙏

  • Me and my partner have been together for almost 7 years. We met in our early 20’s and watched each other grow, but I think we’ve both acknowledged that we’ve grown apart and into different individuals than when we first met. We’re currently on a break, but I think it’ll transition into a break up. 🥲

  • I was with her for 1 year and 3 months, it’s been the first real relationship, where she was admiring me for who I am and caring for me. I broke up yesterday for the second time, I’m really struggling to not get back, however I remember why. I couldn’t be myself with her, I was trying to be with her like a good boyfriend but eventually I woudn’t be caring for her most of the time in the future, I was trying to love her, but I couldn’t do it, hopefully it’s for the best. It really hurts and I wish we would be more compatible in the speaking sense just so we could be together. Idk man, it’s just hard to be by myself, alone. It’s already hard

  • As a people pleaser and trained by manipulation, this was hard. Breaks my heart to think of no more after almost 3 years.. what can I do? I need time away. Maybe as time goes by we can meet again when I’m in a mature state as him. But once my phone number isn’t mine anymore that will never be the case. Gone like the wind. For now I follow my instinct where it leads me.. I need to learn after not letting myself be me for so long. I hate this… I may learn the hard way. I’m naive and young to understand.. no experience in my life.. let me run my course.

  • My ex broke up with me yesterday She told me she lost her love for me i am so heartbroken rn and im still so confused though i know it was the right thing to do cuz if we were gonna continue this relationship on fake love that would only have led to disaster Btw this was my first relation ship that i spent 3 months on it was fun while it lasted… 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

  • I just watch these articles hoping to learn more and i do but somehow i do not get it. Its been a while since i had a girlfriend. And i try reaching out but everyone has a boyfriend already. So i sign on a datingsite. I am the second hottest guy on it. About 200 likes a day and so many messages. But when i talk we have nice beautifull conversations. But it feels like they never want to meet up. I am just 18 of course there is a life in front of me but. I just feel scared ending up alone. I can’t enjoy normal things really. I want to do things with somebody, go out, go swimming. But somehow it feels like nobody wants me. Guess i am a little jelous to cause a classmate didn’t expect a relationship to be good. Now he has one and he is one of the happiest guys i ever seen! He is younger then me but i was trying to ask girls out for much longer!

  • My god this is so damn hard…. We have a two year old and I loved him so much and I no longer feel like I love him because too much has happened. I thought I could love him again but it’s even harder that forgiving him… I did forgive him but now he wants to “start over” to make emends but I don’t know if I can allow my self a second round

  • My ex and I broke up yesterday. We have had a toxic on off relationship over a 5 year period. We got back together in February. Been living together since April. Him and his dog moved out yesterday. It wasn’t a good relationship really. A lot of these points in the article we went through. As much as I loved him, it wasn’t right clearly. He was very angry and abusive in the sense of throwing drinks in my face, punching doors and walls, shouting abuse. I’m just struggling to adjust right now and it’s not even been a few days

  • Great article as always,My girlfriend broke up with me saying she wants more space to focus on herself and we didn’t really hangout since nether of us have a license yet and saying how she couldn’t handle not being able to physically be there for each other. But even after breaking up we talked like it never happened and I feel like I should just leave and stop talking to her but I still want to be able to be with her.

  • My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years. I’m always in charge of the anniversary plan so i asked him if he could figure something out,I just wanted a surprise. Well, I spent that day and weekend perusal Netflix and crying. I know its my fault because hes unemployed and of course he cant do anything, but I cant help feeling thijs way. In addition to that, he’s movimg to Australia for 2 years and I don’t know whats gonna happend. I love his family, his personality, his hobbies, i love everything about him. I guess i’m just sabotaging myself.

  • Yet another breakup with my toxic narcissist mother. Repeating the same arguments, our values/morals conflicting, & and every time i end up going no contact with her. When im free I’m able to plan events without guaranteed disapointment, because then she will not be there to make it all about her. Im so done with the passive aggressive little comments where she consistently tries to poke at my boundaries. And then the fake incompetence when I call out her behavior. The way she gaslights & deflects to avoid taking any responsibility or accountability for her behaviors. Like can we just be adults & get real (I’m 34 & and she’s 60). Sadly, I actually thought I’d be tougher this time around. She seemed different & better…at first & I (reluctant as hell) reconnected with her. My goofy ass actually tried to convince myself that if & when the other shoe eventually dropped…that I’d be emotionless & be instead logical about it all. Here we are the shoe dropped & I said bye & blocked her, again, for the zillionth time. If it’s not working & never worked, then it’s not likely it will work out in the future. I know this article was made for relationships of the couple variety, but it also helped me so much. When you never had a mother or anyone to rely on & help comfort you in shaky moments like this, perusal psychology articles calms the anxiety. 💕

  • TRUST ME THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH i did it after i realised that its a waste of time if we each other dont care about, if u guys are like cant talk to each other and dont miss that person like u used to before thats a sign for break up, i realised it so i did it myself (i felt bad for the boy but its for my own good)

  • I had a breakup that was extremely good for me. But, I stayed with her for one year 8 months, 8 days, 18 hours, 34 minutes. It was good for the first 3.5 months. After that, she began leeching my resources, efforts, income, and time, away. She even had her friends in on it, which were supposed to be my friends, as well. She said it would be good for me to have friends because she knew I was reclusive. How convenient that she had so many friends for me to have, as well. I lost so much because of her, and her friends. When I finally told her I could not stay with her, she laughed at me and said, “You were so easy!” She walked to an empty lot and called a taxi. When the taxi came to get her, she had the car drive by me while she blew mocking kisses at me. I promised myself I would never allow even the smallest of chances of those unfortunate times repeating again. If that meant that I would never again have friends nor a girlfriend again, so be it. The last time I had, “friends,” and a, “girlfriend,” was 8 August 2000 at 18:34. I have never had any more since then. Since I can not tell the fakes from the genuine people, I just opted out of being social. I doubt I even know how to meet people any more. But that is a good thing.

  • I just broke up And want to go to her right now….. Holding her shoulders and melt down.. And want to say.. abusing my parents without any reason is not good for my mental health. Please understand…. This is the only thing I expect you not to do. Shit I am shivering 😔 Why can’t a person understand that being cool with giving space is good for both of them. I also like being on call with you 24×7 even after 2 years of relationship but to survive a person need a job. Being on job sating that you are not giving me time is not good. I am lonely. I don’t wanna break up. Cuz I love you damn it. I just wanted one thing that you don’t abuse my parents while being in a fight. SHAME on me to expect this only thing which you used against me to trigger me always. It was not okay. I am not okay. I will never be okay. 😔 I wish someone understands

  • I’m currently considering breaking up with my 2 year boyfriend. The thought of never touching him again makes me physically sick, but our relationship is unbalanced. We are long distance, he doesn’t want to prioritize us over his career or family and this has left me lonely and unloved. He even admitted I love him more than he does love me and I thought this was the last straw. Still here I am, pondering whether i should break up or not.

  • I broke up with the only girl ive ever truly loved, because i loved her. We had too many differences in goals and wants for our own lives and our constant fights wouldnt get resolved just put off. when the topic of betterment of our lives would come up she would say oh yeah ill do it later, then later became even later. There were also some things I couldnt move past, like not wanting a relationship with my family and more. Didnt want to break up with her and it hurts to see her hurt and move on, but for the betterment of our futures it had to be done. Working on it doesnt work unless its truly what both sides want, not just so the other side doesnt leave. I hope this helps someone else perusal this article, things will get better always. Its easy to stay and hard to go, but going through the hard time helps you grow. Never be afraid to pursue what you think will be right long term instead of enjoying short term happiness.

  • I got dumped a week ago. I’m doing great I’m a 8th grader and it was my first bf and real relationship. Lasted 7-8 months. It sucked ye but I got over it fast I still get a lot of anxiety when I think about him. He said to people he never loved me 💀 bud was lying which just pisses me off. Glad it’s over cause now I’m a lot happier even if it was healthy some what.

  • I have this guy who is very sweet, kind, caring and loving but he wants to change things about me like he wants me to change my laugh, he can me to become a buddast shave my chest hair and because a social butterfly and he has only spent one night with me and he keeps saying he has fallen in love with me and has told everyone he knows about me

  • My bf suddenly changed completely 180 in the last 3 months. Ik he is going through some tough times but most of our conversation ends in arguments, him ghosting me then coming back a week later to say sorry. Says there is no one else, won’t break up and i melt every time. Been in love with him for years, he was never like this before but it hurts so much these days idk what to do.

  • About a month ago I broke up with my partner that I have known for about two years. We officially dated for over a year but I am starting to wonder if instead of a clean break up if we should have just gone on a break and taken some time apart to maybe regroup. I have never revisited partners from previous relationships post breakup but this one feels like it isn’t over and still really care about her and value the connection that I had with her family and friends. We went our separate ways knowing that we were having communication issues, not prioritizing quality time together on both sides but mostly her, and having a few compatibility issues when it comes to finances, family, and friend dynamics within the relationship. What do you all think? Was it a good idea to just break things off and go separate ways?

  • Would love to see a whole series of this. This was truly so so vulnerable, and I appreciate how this was made during the heartbreak and not looking back reflectively after you’ve gotten through the hardest parts. The shots of you crying, telling yourself you did nothing wrong, that you miss him and how it feels like a big chunk of your life was gone made my chest ache in the best way. This was so beautiful, and will be amazing for you to look back on one day. Make more articles as you move forward! <3
