How To Spark My Creativity In Minecraft?

A recent study from Iowa State University suggests that playing video games, particularly Minecraft, can positively impact creativity. The open-ended format and problem-solving required in Minecraft have led to a theory that it attracts creative people and serves as a means for them to think more creatively. The research was conducted by Psychology Professor Douglas Gentile.

The study suggests that the more you play Minecraft, the better your builds will become. It is recommended to create an elaborate blueprint for a humongous structure and work on it over a period of weeks or even months. Video games that foster creative freedom can increase creativity under certain conditions, according to the study.

In Minecraft, players can use their imagination to the full, as it is the main point of the game. These ideas, similar to the Steal Like an Artist concept, lead to creative breakthroughs as they move through the stages from consuming to creating.

However, only certain games, under certain circumstances, can stimulate creativity. The study conducted by Iowa State University suggests that playing Minecraft-like video games could help boost creativity. By incorporating ideas and allowing the juices to flow, players can create more imaginative and innovative spaces that can inspire others to think more creatively.

  • If it’s an 8x8x8 cube, going underground, I would go one block down and fill that layer with something like dirt so it becomes and 8x8x6, the 7th row high are solid blocks filled horizontally, this way the 8th row high or the floor level I can fill with water source blocks, so when I break all the dirt the water will fall down and instantly fill the entire cube, That’s what I taught myself in like 2013 lol, I’m happy to see their are much more possibilities.

  • “Most players know that if you place two water source blocks next to each other, it makes a source block in-between them.” Just FYI: They can’t be next to each other if the new source block is in-between them. You can do this diagonally, though. I always thought of using ice blocks as taking longer and so never thought to use them to go vertically, so that’s a good “duh” moment for me to learn. 🙂

  • The thing that keeps me in worlds is being in a realm. It gives a different sense of patience. I and my friends have been playing on 2 realms for a little over a year and one I built wall maria from Attack on Titan. It is hard to change or delete a world you’ve put countless hours in and even the ones you played with your friends in.
