How Practicing Mindfulness Meditation Altered My Life?

Mindfulness has significantly changed my life, transforming my mindset from one of stress and fear to one that welcomes abundance, acceptance, gratitude, and positivity. Through meditation, I have been able to live in the moment, be thankful for what I have, conquer my anxiety, and find a source of light in times of great darkness and sorrow.

In Richard Davidson’s talk, he discusses how mindfulness can improve well-being and outlines strategies to boost four components of a healthy mind: awareness, focus, attention, and mental fatigue. Meditation has helped me develop a writing, reading, and journaling habit, leading to a happier and healthier life.

The idea that occasional falling asleep or not paying attention during meditation is no problem has worked great for me, but it doesn’t guarantee success. Mindfulness has also reduced stress levels, improved sleep quality, erased anxiety levels, decreased reactivity, improved focus and attention, and reduced mental fatigue.

Mental practice has made me more stable emotionally and natural, feeling less bothered by my thoughts and feelings and staying more centered and calm. By listening to my inner teacher, I was able to beat my depression through meditation and yoga.

Mindfulness has transformed how I experience myself, helping me see and understand my helpful and unhelpful habitual ways of thinking and behaving. It has made me calmer, less prone to overreacting, less anxious, and more present. It has helped me connect with myself and realize that life is short, and there’s no time like the present to chase.

Overall, learning mindfulness has changed my life, as it has fully absorbed into my daily routine and affected all areas of my life. It has opened my eyes to how I can help my clients and allowed me to self-reflect on my personal and professional life.

What happened after 1 year of meditation?

The author describes their meditation practice, which involves sitting and listening to a sound, and then focusing on the sound. The mind chatter initially becomes loud, but eventually stops, creating a feeling of complete oneness and blankness. This state can take up to 13 minutes, and the feeling is addictive and keeps the author coming back daily.

The thoughts that follow this meditation are powerful and messages from the author’s intuition. These thoughts can be mundane or profound, and they appear throughout the day. The author noticed that they get these thoughts more often now that they are meditating, but it is likely that they are just hearing or noticing them more easily.

Regularly quieting the mind allows the author to hear their intuition more clearly, which always has the author’s best interests at heart. When they get a random thought after a quiet mind, they should act on it, as they won’t be disappointed. By practicing meditation, the author can experience a sense of complete oneness and blankness, which they believe is addictive and keeps them coming back every day.

Additionally, meditators had better working memory capacity and better attention during performance tasks compared to the control group.
