How Many Parents Discourage Their Kids From Choosing Fashion As A Major?

Learning children’s fashion can help parents and children boost their creativity by creating unique and stylish outfits. Parents may be concerned with fashion, fitting in, or functionality, and pass these values to their children. Many parents would not let their kids go to church in short shorts or t-shirts with liquor ads because it would be morally wrong. Over half of Americans thought that school uniforms have a positive effect in terms of saving parents money on clothing.

Research with eight to eleven-year-old girls from the South of England discusses the relationship between their clothes, identity, temporality, and life course. New research reveals brands and logos are highly important to some children, influenced by family attitudes, peer pressure, and celebrity culture.

Families with children at secondary school pay on average more than £300 per child every year in school. One study reported that the average adolescent spends more than 40 hours with some form of mass media in a typical week, often more time than they spend with their parents. Nine in 10 working-class parents would discourage pursuit of creative jobs in favor of traditional professions.

Fashion affects millions of children both directly and indirectly, such as poor pay and conditions and the need to migrate. More than four in 10 children are embarrassed by their parents’ lack of fashion sense, while one in four moms and dads said their child’s opinion on fashion matters.

The objective of this research is to evaluate to what extent parents want to be sustainable consumers with respect to their children’s clothing. It is important for parents to allow their children to pursue their dreams while making them aware of the challenges and coming up with a backup plan.

Is fashion designing good or bad?

Fashion design is a creative and versatile field that offers a unique perspective on fashion, can be used to create clothing for both men and women, and is a growing industry with ample opportunities for growth and advancement. It is highly marketable and constantly evolving, requiring continuous learning and skill development. Being a fashion designer is a demanding and prestigious career choice, and it is essential to understand the attributes that make a designer stand out from the competition. In this blog post, five key reasons why choosing fashion design as a career path are discussed.

Which age group is most interested in fashion?

Research indicates that young consumers, particularly those aged 18-25, consume a significant amount of fast fashion, which significantly impacts traditional cultures by altering consumption patterns, influencing design practices, and challenging cultural heritage. This raises concerns about sustainability and the preservation of indigenous practices. Fast fashion promotes a culture of rapid consumption, often overshadowing traditional clothing practices, leading to the erosion of cultural identities.

The commodification of clothing diminishes the cultural significance of traditional garments, as seen in the case of the Dayak Iban community. However, there is a resurgence of interest in traditional designs, particularly among younger generations, such as the integration of traditional garments like Hanfu into modern fashion in China. This fusion of traditional and contemporary styles highlights a potential pathway for preserving cultural identity amidst the fast fashion trend. The interplay between fast fashion and traditional retail illustrates the broader economic and cultural shifts, emphasizing the need for a balance between innovation and heritage preservation.

  • It is not easy to raise a family, but to raise a happy one and keep it together is a great achievement. That achievement now includes all their grandchildren, (one being a future king) and I believe they are a big part of the reason that these grandchildren are happy and well grounded. The Middletons have also stayed right out of the media and I think for their dedication and loyalty that they deserve some form of peerage recognition. When William and Kate ascend the throne, the Middletons will be invaluable to their grandchildren as mentors and companions.

  • I do agree that Katherine had a good up bringing. I never knew that the parents get titles. But they are lovely parents hard working people. Katherine is a beautifull lady, and Lady Di would have been so proud of her daughter in law. Katherine suits her position in the future if she become Queen. I pray God bless her with Good health. 30:55 ❤❤ 30:55

  • Mother and Father of the Queen. That’s fine, or where does it stop! Catherine had wonderful upbringing and education. She took part in a great number of activities. Wonderful grounding for her long relationship with Prince William. Ultimately I believe this is a good marriage and will last. Nothing too impulsive there. No escaping into unknown or ignorance of what is required. ❤❤❤

  • Do people know that meg asked for an allowance for Dorito. She was given 4500.00 a month. Now meg and Harry couldn’t care for her mother? Her mother couldn’t care fir herself? Meg also wanted a separate house given to the mother it was denied. Poor Thomas couldn’t get a flight to UK! Well I guess he wouldn’t go along with the con.

  • Why do so many foreign journalists think that Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are actually part of England? The Royal Family reign for Britain not just England. I’m not decrying England, but please foreign journalists acknowledge that Catherine and William will be king and Queen of Great Britain not just England.

  • They make me sick 🤢 with all that money they don’t need they can feed a third world country and still have plenty of money left over!!! Why don’t they donate some of that money to the women and children starving in the Chad who had to flee the Sudan or Nigeria 🇳🇬 or Palestine 🇵🇸 or any other country with starving women and children!!!!!!!
