Registration is just another way people put their hands in your pockets for money and status in order to sell you the cow. I get it, but it’s not really our thing on a hobby farm. We started our Dexter journey a few months ago with our first heifer and calf, and a bull. No registration. But if you can’t see it’s a Dexter, then go find a registered one and pay more.
So! I think I may have the solution to our buying any more cows and pigs!! We agree to force ourselves to borrow each others’ trailers! Yup! It wont matter that you’ll have more room to fill using our 28 foot goose neck because you’ll have to drive clear out to Montana to get it and vice versa!! Also, our rig had the axles turned over so the trailer sits up much higher in the air because the first owners used it to haul horses into the back country for hunting. Dexters could never jump high enough to get into our trailer and our cattle would be baffled at yours being smaller so they would refuse to go in. There ya go! Problem solved! 🤣😂
